Summary

Income stream surfers walks through Google’s switch from Gemini CLI to the anti-gravity CLI, noting Gemini CLI is reportedly shut down. The host compares the new setup to Claude Code’s managed agents and highlights how Google is unifying the SDK and CLI under anti-gravity. They test Gemini 3.5 Flash inside anti-gravity, attempt to run an Astro Builder Skill, and demonstrate building a basic website project (Palms Plumbing in Athenry) with SEO-focused outcomes. Despite praise for speed and a free tier, the presenter complains about usage limits, continued model quirks, and the decline of older features like three-flash options. The video also covers admin dashboards, skill loading, and the friction of continuing conversations after logging out. Beyond testing, the observer promotes open-source value and pitches their services for rapid website builds using Astro and other frameworks. The tone blends curiosity, practical experiment, and a sales pitch for building services, underscoring free access as a double-edged sword with governance questions.

Let's talk about the shutting down of the Gemini CLI and being replaced with the anti-gravity CLI. This is a bold move from Google and I want to talk about it. So, I'm going to be testing the anti-gravity CLI, but what's even more surprising is that they actually closed down the Gemini CLI. I wasn't really expecting them to do that. I have to say they've now kind of unified the SDK and the CLI. Kind of like Claude Code. you have the claude managed agents or the claude agent SDK which is basically a wrapper that claude code uses. They're doing the same thing over at Google as well. So, we now have the anti-gravity CLI which I'm going to be testing in today's video and the Gemini CLI is gone. Now, a lot of people have been complaining about this update. Let's see if it was worth it by testing it out now. So, the way to get into uh this is just you just need to install it and then I think it's agy. For some reason, you're not signed in or I am signed in. I'm just going to do log out and then I'm just going to log in with a random account. Okay, so this is the new Gemini 3.5 flash model. So, I'm just going to try and get this on low if possible. Okay, so low is not possible. So, you still have the same options as before. So, we actually have set opus three. There's no three flash though, which is a real shame. I actually really liked that model and it was super cheap. Okay, so if you're not familiar with the Astro Builder Skill, this is just a skill that I created to generate websites for me and also for other people. This is the barebones of Harbor Build as well, which I'm releasing very, very soon. But we're just going to quickly see if all of this still works just out the box with anti-gravity. So, I'm just going to run npx astro. Okay, that didn't work. So, let's do this and then do I need to write anti-gravity here. So, anti-gravity. Oh, one second, guys. Okay, there we go. That should work. That's installed. So, now when I do agy, does it still come up when I do slashsklls? This is an important kind of test here for me. Okay, so nothing comes up. Okay, guys. I just want to mention something quickly. I know that Google is getting a lot of crap for this update, but it is free, so you know, you can't complain too much, right? I'm just going to try and get this try and get this skill in your skill directory. So, I'll just copy that and then copy that and then let's see if it can actually do it itself. Okay, so that did seem to work. We now have the asteroid builder skill. Perfect. I'm just going to try and change the uh the config here. Okay, there we go. So, I had to I had to change the config to dark basically. So now use this skill to create me a website for palms plumbing in Athenry. Yes, I need a database. Um do uh if you have an internal nano banana tool generate images otherwise skip. Okay, so let's see how this goes. So it's going to basically read the skill here or load the skill and then it's just going to start doing everything. So it sets up a a database, right? Um, it does SEO research. I think actually anti-gravity might be one of the best ways to do this because it's SEO research is going to be better than anyone else's, right? Because it's from Google. People love to hate on Google. Um, but it's a free tool. I understand that it's free because it's it's bad. I do understand that. I'm not stupid. But it's still a free tool, right? Uh, do it. So, what does that mean? It means that you can have the power of Why is it starting Docker? you can have the power of a good model, which honestly I know again it's Gemini 3.5 Flash, it's a meme. Google's dead, blah blah blah, but it's still a good model, right? It's it's an expensive model. It's relatively expensive compared to Gemini 3 Flash, which by the way, I'm extremely upset about. But it is still free. So, if this is a decent way to build, at the end of the day, right, you may as well build this way because you you don't even have to pay 20 bucks like you do with Codeex. It's literally free now. I'll clearly get hit by some kind of usage limit. I wonder if usage is actually it is an option. Can I do it while it's doing it? Yeah, I can. Okay. So, quotes are available is still 100%. So, that's interesting because I have been using it um a decent amount. It looks like you can use Gemini 3 flash high potentially when this one runs out. When one of them runs out, I might try something to like finish off the build just to see if that happens or if if that works. Sorry, not if it happens. Okay, so phase one and phase two are done already, which is absurd how fast this is. I'm talking in real time. Like, it it is one of the fastest models I've ever seen. Like, it's extremely impressive. And I do love fast models. I love fast cheap models more than fast models. But really, really fast models for free on anti-gravity. I have to say, like, I'm not as much of a hater as maybe everyone else is. By the way, guys, you can get this skill completely for free, open source in the description of this video. It's really, really good if you, for example, have like a job to make a website for someone. This is a really, really good way to do it. Astro is much lighter than Nex.js and also I think it's just better for SEO out of the box as well. So, it looks like it's generating images. Again, I'm not paying for Google. This is completely for free. So, I mean, I'm a big fan of this. Oh, here we go. So now it's at 60%. Not a big fan of that. It looks like we can move over to Sonnet or Opus if needs be to finish the job off. But h yeah, I'm not a big fan of uh the usage limits here at all. I think I'm just going to let let's skip image generation for now. I just I'm just going to skip image generation. I can just grab free images later. Like it it you don't actually need image generage generation. It's just a nice thing to have. If you're on a paid plan of this though, guys, I think it would be pretty nice. So, now it's going to create the homepage, which is kind of what I wanted to see. I mean, that was unbelievably fast. I don't know. The quality here is good, I would say. Um, looks like it's just made one page for services again. It did do this last time. So, it's a little bit of a lazy model, I would say. This would definitely rank on Google, though, for sure. Emergency plumber, Aan Ry. Um, let's see. I mean, overall, you can see that it's done a pretty damn good job. Uh, looks like the build is fairly um like intense, like intensive, like it's done a pretty good amount of the build. I would say we actually have the by the way feature as well. So, I just did slash by the way and then said what is the admin password? Just so I can show you guys the um the admin that it builds, right? This is part of the build. If you do this build with something like Claude Code, by the way, you'll be very very impressed by it. Okay, so there we go. individual quotota reached. Contact your administrator to enable overages. So let's do slashmodel or let's do slash usage. It doesn't actually say that it's oh individual code. That's interesting. Let me just try something. So if I do log out and then log in, is this going to just let me continue the conversation? Let's see. Okay, so they've removed the ability to do agy continue and then continue the conversation. It looks like I might be wrong on that, but I just checked and the way to continue a conversation is agy- c. I got it from this video here. Google anti-gravity CLI full walk through. Just use agy. Let's just do it exactly as he did it. So like that. No. Okay. So that is pretty disappointing honestly. Um, I understand why they've done that, but obviously not great for the builders who want to just build things for free. We do have new usage though, so you can continue, right? And I'm just going to say, please try and finish this project. Maybe we can. Now, we can't even grab the old conversation. That's crazy. Okay, so just so you guys know, this is how it works. This is like the admin dashboard. When someone does a um like a form fill in, right? Uh then it will show them that, you know, it's interesting. I've done a couple of builds with this now and I have noticed that it always makes the same mistakes. The design is pretty good, right? It's a little bit basic, but the design is pretty good just generally speaking for a kind of fast model. But for example, if I go on the contact page, you can see it does this weird thing where it like stops the page being rendered. This happened last time. Another thing that happened last time was logging in to the admin dashboard didn't work out the box. I've fixed that now. But yeah, I don't know. I was very very happy to be honest with you with Gemini 3 Flash inside anti-gravity IDE. I have to say the CLI with Gemini 3.5 Flash has much worse usage limits and just generally doesn't feel as good as the previous model. Um or maybe not maybe that's not fair, but like it keeps making the same mistakes. I don't know. It's a little bit weird. It's it's hard to it's hard to say what the issue is, but I have to say the design has got much much better. So, this is how you use anti-gravity completely for free, guys.
