Summary
In this return-to-Hardline session, jackfrags winds back the clock to a game that’s already on its way out on Xbox One and PS4, with online services ending June 22. He notes that the PC version may follow later, but for now the last active server still attracts a 40–50 nightly crowd. He jumps between maps he forgot or hadn’t revisited, marveling at Hardline’s unique features like grappling hooks, defibrillator pickups, and a fast, chaotic firefight tempo. The commentary blends gameplay highlights with reflections on how the game departed from traditional Battlefield tropes—no military theme, more police procedural vibes, and gadgets that shook up standard combat. Across the session he teases the “taser” meta, the array of destructible environments, and a variety of small, memorable moments—from an RPG scramble to a nail gun takedown. He also touches on player communities keeping old titles alive through community servers and workarounds, even as official support fades. The video ends with gratitude for longtime viewers and a nudge to like if they enjoyed the trip down memory lane. It’s a candid snapshot of a quirky spin-off that earned its place in Battlefield history, even as it slides toward sunset.

On May 22nd, less than two months from now, Battlefield Hardline is going to be removed from the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 digital stores, which means after that point, you'll not be able to buy it. And then on Monday, June 22nd, online services for the game on Xbox One and PS4 will be terminated. So, you won't be able to play the game on console at all after June 22nd. Single player will still be available, though. Eventually, this is going to happen to the PC version of the game, too. There's a lot of older Battlefield games that aren't officially supported.
Bad Company 2, for example, BF2. I don't think you can even play the original BF1942 online anymore. People have made their own launches and servers. So, there are ways to play if you look into it. But a lot of Battlefield titles eventually just get sunset and you can't play them anymore. But on PC, the game will continue until they shut it down. It will happen at some point. For now though, officially, there is one server left with an active player base. This one here, free all base and DLC maps and modes, HP set, vote map, 60 Hz.
This is the only server that ever has any players on in BF Hardline, and it's usually around 40 to 50 people in the evening. In the morning, 5 to 6, maybe none at all. So, these are the last people still playing Battlefield Hardline. Somebody is paying monthly for this server, too. You have to rent them. And I thought before the PC version gets deleted, I'd hop on again. I did play a bit earlier this year because I like to go back and revisit it. But with the announcement that it's going to be shut down soon, I thought I've got to get some gameplay time in.
And this was actually really interesting because I ended up on a ton of maps that I'd not played before, or at least I didn't remember playing. Maybe they were released in DLC's after I quit the game. So, here it is. Some BF Hardline for you. If you want to play it, might be your last chance soon. Just a heads up, especially if you're on Xbox One and PS4. I had a blast coming back to this game again. Drop me a like, please, if you enjoyed the video. Thank you. Let's play some Hardline. All right, this map's called the block.
I remember this was like the grinding map when you wanted to level your guns up and stuff. It's got a lot of destruction on it. We have Jack Frags populating the server before GTA 6. Lol. Yeah. I mean, is GTA 6 coming out this year? Might be delayed again. This middle point gets crazy. Come on. Let's go. All the walls start to get chunked up. I remember they come down, don't they, on this level. And check this out. Grapple is up. Can grapple up here. This is really sick in Hardline. Special forces vibes. And I think I can cap this room up here.
Yes. And I can shoot people who probably are going to look up here. Yes. Objective capped. To the mini mall. Zipline is up. Rapid movement across the level. Ow. Through the door. Let's go. All right, mate. I'm ready to go. Tactical. This was a good feature, too. So, on some of the levels, you can pick up defibs from the wall. So, if you're not playing medic, you can still zap people. Trying to encourage a bit of teamwork there. Jesus. Someone's got the RPG. It's a battle pickup. Where is he? RPG there, bro. That's just rude, man.
There's nothing. There's nothing left of the place. Look at this. They're all squirreling in like rats. What do we do down there? Oh, a bit of tap fire works good on this. Is that an enemy? No. Big zippy down here. Let's go. That building's on fire. Why is that build? I don't remember that. Is that a thing? Come on, get out. Oh my god, he got the taser. I hate those things. Can't beat him. Join them. Where'd you go? There he is. Come here. I'm going to get you. Look at the range. And then look, you can interrogate them and it shows you on the map where enemies areated if they're nearby.
There's one in here. He's trying to get away from me. He had the trip wire there, too. Look at that. Cheeky. There's a guy there. Suspect is unconscious. Where you going? What did he Oh, someone got him. Teammate killed him. Look at this place. Like all of the buildings are falling down now. That's sick. They never really balanced. Uh what's a dinosaur? Got you. They never really balanced the taser. They just stopped doing updates on the game. Yeah, you can just run around and instantly kill people with it. It's like the troll meta weapon. I guess there's a dude down there.
He went down pretty quick. Yeah, the taser's really good is what I'm saying through here. This guy. Ah, see you, mate. Goodbye. Oh, look at the range. The range is mad. This guy. Nope. Didn't have the range there, did we? You almost got killed then. I have to admit, it is kind of fun just hooning around with this thing cuz you you move really fast. Oh god, I missed. Come here. Whack. Not the melee attack. Police baton to the head up here. No. No way. Good one. That was in range. Let's see if we got anyone.
They're on the point. Oh, that is a perfect example of the mechanic being demonstrated there. That was great. What? This guy, he just throws knives at people. I think the knives are a one shot, too. Very dangerous. Does that blow up? Oh, maybe. Oh, end of the game. GG. Yeah, that map's pretty good, man. just for like infantry and running around and doing goofy stuff. This is nice. Here, look in the chat. Yo, Jack, what's good? I used to watch your videos as a kid. That's really nice. I've been doing this almost 15 years now.
This is one of the spawns here for the couch, but it's not there. Damn it. Right there. I see you skulling in there, mate. Whoa. MG36. All right. Big gun. Insane time to kill. C4 charge ready. Ah, we got him. Massive zipline here. Look at the range on this bad boy. All the way across the road there. Enemy spotted. Oh, hit him once. The gun on this is mad. Look at that. The damage. Here he comes. Ah, I got one out the window. Better than nothing. Can I get this one here? Come on, mate. Come and get me.
Come and get me. Come on. Hit me. Hit me. Hit me. HIT ME. YEAH. OH MY GOD. Was that a quad kill? Can we get the win? Yes. What is this map? I don't think I've even played this. Nighttime woods it's called. Yeah. I suppose if you were watching my videos when you were like 10, maybe 15 years later, 25, you could have a family, a house. You could be a completely different person now. That's wild. And I'm very grateful for you guys coming back and always watching the videos. Look at these. I can't even see what I'm aiming at.
Oh, I got a double kill. That was an objective vehicle, too. I mean, I could take this myself. Whoa. What is happening there? So, yeah, you just drive past and you score points. Instead of a flag, it's a bike. Hi, guys. I literally can't see anything on this map. What's that? A nail gun. What? Oh. Oh, it's semi-auto. That's pretty big damage. I think this map is too dark, maybe. Although, you can get NVGs. What's this map? Honestly, I don't think I've ever played this one. It's a big MG there. Wait. Highly detailed toolbox there.
Not as good as the donut or the burger though in this game. Called Diversion. I've got like no memory of playing this at all. Very linear map. What are we doing here? Have to capture that. I guess the enemy bag. Capture the flag basically, right? Weird doors, too. Oh, I'm under. Look at this area here. Wait, I I recognize this. Isn't this in like a single player campaign? Is it from the Hardline single player or BF4 or something? Mirror's Edge. Oh, this gun's good. Can I get their bag? I got him. Bam. Doing some work.
I mean, they're not defending it. Join. Oh no. What? Oh, he was at the I'll eat my words. They were defending it. Go, go, go. He's got it. He's got it. Let's roll. Right. All right, we have to get it all the way back to our base. Can we do it? They get a live thing on us, though, so they're going to see. Look, going out. Pre frag that. They're going to see exactly where we are. Run faster with a melee weapon. See if I can catch him. Go on. Nearly Chopper inbound. So, we just got to wait for that circle.
Is that going to end the game? Oh no, that's one point. First to seven bottom left. I get it. Seven. There's no way people are going to get seven before the time runs. The game play is really fast in this. Why you running past? Oh, I got killed by a fire axe from an anime girl. Trying to defend a bit cuz they pushed us right back here. Look at that. Good frag that go. Come on. Oh, double. Our bag's here. We're trying to recover it right now. Officers prevent the suspects from reaching the So, if that goes all the way around, that'll just transport back to our base.
We're more easily defended, you know. I mean, this map is quite dark, too, isn't it? They're trying to get away with that. Uh-oh. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know if it was the game engine. Maybe they just used the BF4 engine. Dropped it. Doesn't look as good as BF4 though, does It did come after though, which is interesting. Uh oh my god. Ran right past me. Hungry for that package. I'm just going to count their extra point. team. We got running water down there. Look at that. That looks quite nice. They're coming around. Try and capture it.
Get them off me, man. Fire. Oh, it's very dramatic, isn't it? They're going to go again. Come on. Oh, no. Oh, they're going to get it, I think. Yeah, they're going to get it. It said someone was just kicked for an aimbot. So, I think the admins are actually on this server, too, considering it's the only one left in the world. That's pretty impressive. I think they've got a community that just like plays it all the time. Die. This uh middle section is wild. Come on. Yeah, I feel like Visceral Games were trying to make their version of Metro maybe with this or locker.
A larger meat grinder map, you know. It definitely has that vibe to it. This map is called the beat. Do I remember playing on this? Do I? Hell, there's a police helicopter in the sky. I can get my RPG. This looks like quite a small Conquest though. Get the sirens on. Look at this. Red dwarf night out lickers. A dice, please. This might have been a DLC map as well. I've killed him and killed myself. Everything's fine. There's no coming back from that. I've got night vision. Yes. Look, it's the new DLC in BF6 Nightfall.
Also, talking of BF6, this gun that I've got here, the CZ, they've literally just put this in BF6. Is the time to kill in this game quicker than in BF6? Who knows? It's pretty quick. I mean, the amount of positions you can get shot from here. Okay, I definitely remember this from the single player. this bit. You drive in here and you park your car in there and then you come in here. You hack a laptop and you get suddenly attacked and you have to defend while the laptop is hacking. It's something like that. I wonder if you can shoot that helicopter down.
Some kind of Easter egg. NVG's on. Very green. Taser out. Say yeah. I get him. No. I need help over here. Hey, he's dead. Is that the trip mine there? FBI, open up. It's a fat boy. Joshy, bro, I'm trying to look at the large doughut man. I'm coughing. I'm dead. It's a dog with boobs. Can you destroy the large doughut man? If I get a grenade through there, is there a I bet there is. You throw 10 grenades through that Easter egg. He's indestructible. He can't be destroyed. Oh my god, look at the lens flare here.
JJ Abraham's called. He wants his lens flare back. I try a shotgun out. Were these good in Hardline? I don't remember. Carbon fiber knife. Look at that. Oh, there's a guy here. Pretty good. Around the corner. Look at all these police guys. me. I mean, it truly is a very different experience, isn't it, to your typical Battlefield? What is that? Oh, it's the hacker. It's like commander mode, isn't it? I remember that. Yeah, look. Oh, what is going on? Oh, the nail gun. Let's go. Is that helicopter thing the hacker? Oh, look at that. The time to kill on that is mad.
Going to get into a here. Cheeky back rage. You can't aim with it. It's got no aim. I guess nail guns don't have an aim in real life, do they? RPG. I'll try not to kill myself this time. Hi guys. It's a dog with boobs again. Take me on a ride, Mr. Tabby Cat. I like tabby cats. They're cool in here. Smoke. I mean, is there any point go? There's legs coming through the wall. And there's the head. That's an unfortunate smelting accident that guy's found himself in. They only have spawn protection in this either.
Look. Jesus Christ. OH, LET'S GO. That was lucky. Taser time, baby. It's too easy. Come and get me. He's dead. Yes. Even in death, the taser reigns supreme. There's a lot of guys on the mini map here. Okay, he's dead. I'm super fast. He's dead. That guy got me again. Five tickets. Come on. Let's go. You're going to get the win. One ticket. Hey, GG. And there we go, guys. I hope you enjoyed that look back at Battlefield Hardline. Some really interesting mechanics that they had in this game. Some of them we used to have in the older Battlefield games, too, but of course, they introduced new things as well.
And a completely different theme. Not military at all. I think it was the first Battlefield game that didn't have a military theme. Even something like BF Heroes was based on Allies versus Axis World War II from what I can recall. So, with that said, let me know your thoughts below, guys. As I said at the start, it might be your last chance to check it out if you've got it on the older consoles if you enjoy playing it. Trip down memory lane perhaps or if not PC. As long as there are people playing it and the servers are available to buy and EA support the servers, it looks like there might always be this hardcore dedicated player base on PC.
We'll see how it turns out. Thanks for watching. I'll see you next time. Bye-bye. Heat.
