Chat reviews the updated combat and exploration ideas shown in previews, noting how the open world and loading techniques promise a sprawling, loaded world with dynamic environments.

Maximilian Dood teases and dissects Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, praising its open exploration, revamped combat, and ambitious open-world scope while candidly critiquing pacing and early build quirks.

Summary

In this marathon live breakdown, Maximilian Dood digs into Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, weighing its ambitious design against the more linear feel of Rebirth. He praises the promise of a truly explorable world, with a Highwind launch sequence and Rocket Town reshuffled within Revelation’s order, while noting expected shifts in story beats versus the OG game. Max highlights the new combat dynamic—full party control, synergy moves, and the possibility of Advent Children-inspired moments—alongside a persistent concern for pacing and input responsiveness, especially during early combat incarnations like anime Musha and Stranger Than Heaven impressions. He repeatedly emphasizes that Revelation aims for genuine player agency: areas like the icicle/ northern cave arc, the Highwind descent, and Beneath-the-surface exploration should feel risky and rewarding rather than checklist-driven. The stream also veers into behind-the-scenes talk—engine choices (UE4), PC optimization frustrations, and community chatter about difficulty, mini-games, and DLC expectations—while peppering in hot takes on who should headline future FF7 remakes. He tosses out real-world comparatives (Elder Ring-style exploration, Monster Hunter-scale battles, and Advent Children-scale boss moments) and speculates how party-wide dynamics could redefine boss fights. Interlaced are candid updates about media coverage, embargo windows, and the vibrant fan theories that fuel anticipation ahead of PAX/ TOKYO appearances. Overall, the vibe blends feverish hype with a veteran editor’s eye for game design, pacing, and a healthy skepticism about embracing every new trend.

Key Takeaways

  • - Revelation is pitched as an open-world, airship-driven hub experience, with the Highwind loading separate map zones and letting players parachute into detailed locales.
  • - The combat system is evolving toward full party synergy, with potential Advent Children–style cinematic sequences and multiple limit breaks that go beyond the three-character standard.
  • - Story beats may shift in Revelation (Rocket Town and other key moments) while preserving major scenes, signaling a re-ordered but faithful trifecta of Remake/Rebirth/Revelation.
  • - Player agency and exploration are central: expect hard-to-find secrets, optional misadventures, and zones that punish underlevel players with meaningful encounters.
  • - Technical sides discussed include Unreal Engine 4, PC optimization, and a DX12 async shader mod that reportedly eases stutter and improves texture loading.
  • - Mini-games remain a point of contention; creator notes that some fans love them while others want options to skip, with Revelation leaning into plenty of new activity.
  • - The stream casually flags journalist impressions and developer intent about gear, DLC, and future FF7 projects, signaling a broader, ongoing conversation about the saga’s direction.

Who Is This For?

Essential viewing for FF7 fans curious about Revelation’s direction, especially players who want to understand how open-world design, combat evolution, and story sequencing might reshape beloved characters and moments.

Porn um thresh combos just everybody gushing about thresh 2x. That character is doing a lot and yeah he's pretty [ __ ] cool. Uh FF7 poster. It's not a poster. That's a stand. Uh, that's a stande. Um, yeah, barely any video impressions of SGF games so far from media outlets compared to last year. Well, only so much was playable. Like, for example, I got to play the new Yakaza or I'm sorry, Stranger Than Heaven. I got to play it. Um, the thing that they gave us was three combat scenarios and it was pretty crunchy. Like very high highs when things go well, but extremely low lows. So, um, yeah, I think those impressions are like discussible now. I don't think everyone's able to talk about it, how brutal the combat is. I don't really have much of a point of comparison to uh talk about like mega combat comparisons to previous Yakuza games because it's like I know that those games kind of play um to a degree. This was a lot different. It wasn't that the control scheme was bad, it's that the controls felt a little rough. Uh it was definitely an idea. This is a choice. It's stylistically chosen to be heavy and weighted and all of this stuff. very brutal combat, but really weird camera and um I feel like it needs work. Feel like it needs work. It was weirdly unresponsive. So, we'll see. We'll see by the time it comes out. I wasn't necessarily super um super enthralled with it. Chat has the G actually I think the I think I can talk to you guys about Galactic Racer, right? Um, Galactic. Can I Is there May 27? Can I talk about that yet? Pod racing game. Sort. It's sort of a pod racing game. Um, welcome back to the stage of history. No, we have to wait a while. Every embargo is so random. I know, Joy. Um, sorry. Can't talk about Galactic Racer. Gotta wait a while on that. Uh, yeah. No, no, it's like over 10 days. We have to wait like a long time. Um, anyway, yeah, no other reviews on it yet. I can talk about Animusha. I played a new version of Anim Musha. Um, pretty much a part of the game that was a bit later than the demo that we're playing at home right now. Um, and yeah, it had a uh another boss fight, like a new boss fight, and a lot of the combat that were playing in it was pretty similar to what was in the demo that you guys were all playing at home. Pretty similar. Um, but it wasn't a big open environment with like NPCs and [ __ ] It was like, whoa, this kind of reminds me of Animusha 2, where you have like a town and you can like gift people and stuff. There wasn't any of that kind of interaction, but yeah. Um, so there was a boss fight in it and um I died once on the boss, which is good. You had a two-phase because there was this weird chat. Did anybody play the Onimusha demo with um prompt hints? What was it called? Button prompt hints. Anyone? Apparently, it is also in the current demo that Onimusha has where it will give you recommended buttons to press if the enemy is attacking you. It'll actually tell you what button to press almost like it's a QTE. And yes, you turn them on. So, like when the enem is attacking you, it kind of gives you the optimal thing you could do, which is like very handholdy, like really handholdy. and it doesn't tell you the timing. You still got to bring up figure out the timing. So, by default, that was on. And it pretty much gives you the button that you should be pressing for accessibility reasons. I get it. But it just made it harder in my opinion because I would see a button prompt and then press it and be like, "Oh, that's what I need to do." And it like was wrong timing. I'm like, "Can I turn this [ __ ] off?" So, I turned it off and it got way easier. like the accessibility feature was making it significantly harder for me. Um, so I turned it off and was just reacting to what the opponent was doing and I wailed him. Uh, just wasted this boss, right? He has a two-phase, so you actually get to engage with him a little bit. Um, I lost some healing. I was down to my final heal, so it was like, okay, that's kind of cool. Um, and then I asked cuz we I got through it pretty quickly. And then I asked them, can I try it again? So, I tried it again with just one one turn, right? I I beat the boss once. Let's see how challenging this is a second time. And I made the boss look like a [ __ ] idiot. Like, just with a little bit of knowledge, like a slight bit of knowledge of the fight. I made this huge boss look like an absolute [ __ ] Like, it was funny. I got hit like once and all of a sudden I became the boss. Like, countering like every time he uses something guys just fumbling and bumbling around getting roasted like an absolute idiot and I was like still pretty easy still pretty easy um so even with that perspective I like the fact that they had a boss that was actually making me engage him you know in some ways it was cool it was cool parrying like everything and all that kind of stuff. But he had like one attack that was a command grab that was kind of hard to react to. Everything was extremely telegraphed. So they did remind me that this boss fight is uh from the beginning of the game and the the director, lead producer of the game. Um what difficulty was it? Difficult as it could possibly get. Um the lead dude was like, "So yeah, it's pretty much the only feedback they're getting." Like that's what I was hearing across the board that like everybody that plays this that has played the demo like the only amount of feedback that they're really getting about Anime Musha is that it's just brutally easy. Like really easy. So, um, yeah, I showed them and it's I the Capcom guys watched me and I like apparently their impression early on was that this boss might be a little a little challenging and then I just roasted this [ __ ] with like almost no knowledge and and like barely even familiar with the control scheme because I didn't play the demo that much. So, I just hope it's it either gets a bit harder as time goes on, like actually engages me from a stand like just a standpoint of a normal action game or it uh it launches with a harder difficulty. I just hope it launches with a harder difficulty, dude. I don't want them to change the game. I don't want them to change everybody else's experience. I don't want that. It's just there's so many cool parries and things like that in the game and none of that stuff is really useful all too much until you actually get to a boss fight and then on the bosses you just roast them with all these counter abilities. Just roast them, dude. I just want a slightly difficult more higher difficulty option. That's it. I'm still at that point, dude. Um X cares about all gamers. No, I I I have no issue making the game as e piss easy as possible if you want. I don't care about that, man. Um, I also respect the developers vision if this is the way they wanted the game to be. Um, do I think it is the most entertaining game ever? If that is the way that the game is, uh, probably not, you know, probably not. If the entire game ends up sort of being like that, it's probably going to be about a seven uh out of 10 if it continues to be that way with some really cool boss fights, but like a lot of boring stuff in between, which is unpreferable for me personally. Um, but I respect the creative vision. This is the game they want to make. And maybe there is some conflict between what they they think they're doing and what it actually is being uh presented as like that. Yeah, maybe that doesn't line up in some way. Maybe there's some disconnect. That happens a lot, you know, within this industry. So, um we'll see. You know, if it is the way it is, that's completely fine. I'm I am not one to dictate how the heck the game plays. All I can give is feedback based on my personal experiences. And it seems like my personal experience is sort of similar to what a lot of other people are saying. So, we'll see. I I said the same thing. I'm like, I just hope it launches with a harder difficulty. Um, even like a regular action game someway. Tokon got its art updated on the PS store really on the on the PlayStation store. What does it look like? Dragons Dogma 2 also needs a damn hard mode. Yeah, a lot of uh a lot of Capcom. I you know what difficulty was the one criticism I had of my game of the year currently this year, which is Pragmata. I loved Pragmata. Like some of the group fights in that game especially, dude, some of the big fights like that that lean in and go throughout the the main campaign. Awesome. I just had a great time. It gives you a harder difficulty later, which I didn't even get a chance to play, but I really didn't have an issue with the difficulty of Pragmata. I thought it was pretty decent, but I did have an issue with the last boss. I thought the last boss was too easy. I thought the last boss needed a phase two or something. I was like surprised that it was over. I was like, hm, that's interesting. It was my one criticism of the entire game. I thought the game was nearly flawless. Like, I could not think of a thing I did not like about this and wished was different. I I I was cool with almost all of it, dude. Until the the very last fight or near last fight, not the cinematic last fight, like the actual battle. Um, and it was ridiculously easy. I was like, "Huh, weird. Weird. Lunatic should have been the default." Yeah, I kind of like miss Capcom games starting with a hard mode, right? And like I kind of miss that a little bit. Welcome back. Anyway, Max said what FF he'd want remade. Remade next remade Final Fantasy. [ __ ] I don't know. What are you drinking? Beer. I'm eating beer. Um, that I don't know. Damn. What Final Fantasy would I want remade next? I mean, I'd argue Six. Six has a really interesting world. But uh Final Fantasy 7. Yeah, they should remake Final Fantasy 7. I think they should. I really think they should. I like Final Fantasy 7 a lot. I think they should do it again. The answer is Chrono Trigger, but the real answer is they should not remake Chrono Trigger. I don't think they should. Uh I think Chrono Trigger needs to stay 2D. I think it needs to like literally preserve the original art as much as possible in the same way that like almost Final Fantasy Tactics did. Um, like 2D art is part of the Final Fantasy 7 comparatively is an early 3D game and it shows, right? It's rough around the edges. Chrono Trigger is effectively one of the best looking 2D games, old sprite artwork there is. like it might be one of the best looking Super Nintendo games period. So you have a game that is sort of the pinnacle of of 2D design and and and sprite artwork. The pinnacle and then you have FF7 which is the beginning of 3D which was almost immediately the visuals were made better in eight and nine. Um Seven's got charm because it's so early but seven needed a remake. seven needed to be like a reimagining in some way. Um, that's the problem is that like one game I clear clearly can see this could look a lot better in 3D. Um, and to think of Chrono Trigger in an actual 3D, I don't know, man. Um, I'm not a Chrono Trigger expert. I've only beaten it once, but I absolutely loved it. And I think it just needs an extremely faithful port. That's it. It just needs a really faithful version of the game. Um, that's just like widely available, especially the Super Nintendo version. damn. I don't know, dude. I don't know. I'm just not This a remake 11. Yeah. Did you see Ua was sad about Bluepoint and wanted to work with them on an Nikico remake? Well, don't tell me that. I'm just This shit's just That shit's just going to make me sad, brother. What? I never beat Iiko. I played the beginning of it. Did I play Alien Isolation 2? Alien Listen. Alien Isolation 2. Like if you listen if we you haven't made things clear, chat, and I understand you haven't been here. All right? You haven't you haven't listened what I have to say about this. So I I just need to make this perfectly clear. All right? Especially my feelings on this game. um because it hit sort of a personal note. That was my game of the show. Listen, it was actually my favorite game that I played at Summer Games Fest this year was Alien Isolation 2. I can't wait. I can't wait. It was great. Listen, um believe it or not, the two favorite games that I played at the show this year were the Alien games. Dude, this was an Aliens uh summer games fest for me where Alien Isolation and Alien Isolation 2 and Aliens Fire Team were my favorite games that I played. It's nuts. Fire team's out soon, bro. So, anyway, no chance of cloud being in Kingdom Hearts 4. I don't know about that. Was crazy taxi there. It wasn't. It was played in front of me. Um, and it brought me extreme joy seeing that game played in front of me. I loved it. I was like, it it it made me laugh. It made me like giggle. It made it gave me like all of like the there was something about the developer later, Konosan, who like made Crazy Taxi back in the day. He said uh that he just wanted to make a game that would make you smile. And it definitely does. Like there's some like laugh out loud sort of crazy goofball [ __ ] that is full of like the OG crazy taxi humor. I just want to I just want to play it, man. I just want to play it. Um did anything look AI generated? Nah, that AI stuff was done in an extremely early point and they were pretty emphatic about that. That's the only that's the biggest blight on the entire game was that at one point years ago they used AI for conceptual. I don't want to talk about that. It bums me the [ __ ] out. Um Ricks, thanks for the five. love the content been watch since the first remake reveal. Um, you look like Dr. Rusty Venture from Venture Bros in college years. I'm assuming it's a compliment. They're extremely handsome. Shadow Map, thanks for the 20. You know the Kingdom Hearts 4 trailer that released recently? How you said you would gift subs if Final Fantasy showed up in the Kingdom Hearts trailer? There are airships that look straight out of Final Fantasy 15 and part of the trailer. Um, I put in uh gift sub bets for State of Play and Final State of Play and also Summer Games Fest. So, I only had one bet for the Nintendo Direct and I think it was what? Uh, we had one bet for the Nintendo Direct. It was something. Um, Smash. Yeah, I didn't even I did not even bet on Zelda. No, we did not even have We didn't have time for this [ __ ] dude. I just got back and it was like, let's just stream this [ __ ] Let's go. yeah. Yeah. So, no, we didn't we didn't even have a chance to settle in uh gift sub bets on that [ __ ] No Persona 6. No Persona. The hell is that? Uh, Aub, thanks for the five. How about a Parasite Eve remake? I think that would be cool. I prefer that. You see U8's new game. Did you make videos on it? Christ. Please subscribe to the YouTube channel. If you beat Link to the Past, you need to redo your top 10 nest games. Dull [ __ ] Or do I? Or do I? Damn. This [ __ ] better be good. That's That's the impression you guys are giving me. Damn, this [ __ ] better be good. [ __ ] Uh, you're gonna play Ocarina of Time OG. Uh, I already have. My first playthrough of that is on um is on YouTube. It's from 14 years ago. It was me and Simmons uh yapping the entire time. A lot of it might get me cancelled. I don't know what the hell we talk about during that [ __ ] but it's still it's still there. It was very early Yo Video Games content. If you guys want to search through like the 30 hours that is that you can probably get me cancelled, you know, but I'm just saying it was like our foulmouthed [ __ ] asses in our 20s and [ __ ] Um, the ancient texts, it's old [ __ ] bro. But it is what it is. I have to warn people when they watch Assist Me. I have to warn people when you go through and you watch like old Assist Me and stuff. It's like, man, this is early 2000s humor, okay? Like I'm not taking it down because I can look back in this and be like, "Bro, 2012 was different." Okay, trust. Trust. Uh anyway, it's all there. What I'm trying to do is I'm trying to get people to watch all of it so they can watch all the ads. Uh Freddy, thank you. Roxis Cross, thanks for the 12. Aub, thanks again for the uh five. Jacob, thanks for the 10. How did you end up playing the demo for Stranger Than Heaven? If so, how was it? Uh, yeah. No, I did. I thought it was crunchy. That's about it. I think all the impressions for Stranger Than Heaven are up now. Um, I've seen quite a few. Pretty sure they're able to go live, so I can just talk about it. And yes, it was all uh it was three different three different scenarios, all of varying difficulty in um the demo. And it was a little without having much knowledge or information on how Yakuza combat works. And I hear this is a lot different. it it could be very cool and le led to some very cool moments, but there's a there was a lot of time where I'm like nothing on my controller is working. Like there's not a frame rate issues, more like the choice of interactivity is very specific. um and camera and there's just like many times when my controller just is unresponsive, you know, not input delay, more like the left arm, right arm thing is really cool. I actually like that. I like the choice of what your character can do, but when you eventually do it, it's a lot floatiness. No, not floaty. It's extremely slow, extremely unresponsive at times. um feel it felt conceptual is what it felt. Felt like I'd have to play this game a lot to get used to this. It doesn't leave a extremely positive first impression. At least not for me from a combat perspective. Not a super positive first impression. I mean there I So chat what I did is I went through the demo and they give you weapons, right? So I go through it. I die a few times. I get some tidbits on how the parry works because it's not intuitive. Nothing in the controls are actually intuitive. They're just bizarre. So, you fight some guys and you beat him up and I learn how to parry and I whoop their ass and then you get to the final guy and he like just he can you can take damage from him and then eventually he just one-shots you. You just die and it's like, "Oh, okay." So, uh I figure out how to kill him and then he dies and I have a bunch more time left and I felt like I had no idea how the combat system really worked. I had I had no clue like h why certain things weren't working at times and why they were working at times. I was very confused. So it's not like Sefue [ __ ] I wish it was like Sefue. Holy [ __ ] Uh yeah, we talked about this all of us that played this this game. Um we were talking about in comparison the whole point of it is you fighting a bunch of dudes at the same time. We were all comparing it to Sefue and how that like really figured that out where it's like, "Oh, this is this is cool, dude." yeah. And it was not. It definitely was not. So, once again, it has really high highs. When [ __ ] goes well, it's like, okay. Yeah. When things are working the way I think they they're supposed to and shit's landing and you're countering and you're you're teching and all this. Yeah, it's very cool. But there's just so many points when I'm playing it, I'm just like, I don't understand. Like, I thought I understood how this worked and then it now it's just not like very weird. Um, so anyway, so I beat the demo. Um, which they said not everybody beats it. Like congratulations. I'm like cool. So I I have like 30 more minutes. Um, so I just go back and now I'm not using any weapons. I'm just going to fist fight dudes and all these guys have like giant hammers and knives and swords and [ __ ] So I'm just like, "Okay, so can I beat this with like fisticuffs? I want to I want to directly I don't want to shortcut. I just want to fight all these [ __ ] um with just my hands and see how it goes. And no weapons to to skip forward. Um and it was significantly harder. It got like obviously harder cuz I couldn't do as much damage. I had to just engage the mechanics directly and that's when I started seeing some like weird things especially with the camera. There's no like lock on. There's like a there's sort of a soft lock but not really. um a lot of goofy stuff in terms of like how the engagement works where enemies attack you at like they just like it's interesting. Um I got the hang of it but it was like less enjoyable almost less enjoyable than using weapons and then I got to like the last guy and yeah he would just like kill me immediately with this one attack and it was like okay it's a choice. Camera was wonky as [ __ ] when you played. Yes. You played it too? Yes. Battling battling the controls in the camera was a big part of it. It was a big part of it. Once again, I thought it looked amazing when [ __ ] It's badass. Like you got a guy and you're holding the dude's arm that is attacking you and you're literally holding him with the right arm and then a dude's attacking from the left and you go boom and you like slug him in the face and then you grab him and you headbutt them together or some [ __ ] Yeah, some of this [ __ ] can be extremely cool when it all works out. It's actually like badass. But in between some of those moments, like I wasn't fully comprehending why things weren't working the way they do. And one of the one of the pieces of feedback I gave them that I personally felt is contributing to the frustration. There's combos right, left, right, left, like right, right, left, left, left, right, like all that kind of stuff. I'm like, "Yeah, I understand this. Here's the problem." You do left, right, left, and the guy goes and then nothing happens. And then you do left, right, left, and he goes, and then he doesn't do the third one. And I'm like, what the [ __ ] is going on? Why? What is happening? You could not bake in combos at all. There was like no input buffer. Like none. There was like zero buffering. So you have to wait for the animations to complete perfectly. And then as soon as the animation's complete, then you can cancel into the next attack. It felt very weird. And that was that was the same thing with parrying. It was the same thing with everything else. There was like very little input buffer. So it just ate your inputs constantly. What I mean is like that's what I mean when it felt it feels like the controller just stops working. And I'm like I almost thought my controller was busted. I was like uh I unplugged it and plugged it back in. So maybe it's design intent, right? Absolutely. It could be intention by design that they want to make the game feel bad so that the combat is more challenging. Yeah, I that 100% could be the case. Um, but it felt very weird to have all the buttons on my controller feel like they stopped working many times, like several times in one character interaction. Very weird. Uh, so anyway, everybody that I talked to that played it was like and especially people that were Yakuza fans were like talked to Simmons about and he's like, "Yeah, that combat, dude. That combat." So, we'll see. There's quite a bit of time until it eventually comes out. I'm just curious when it when it does um if any of that stuff goes through goes through the changes, you know, but we'll see. We'll see. Audrey has a ton of new tweets. I know things are happening like right now. I enjoyed the idea, but 30 minutes wasn't enough to get comfy. It wasn't. Yeah, it wasn't joy. It wasn't even enough to like fully form like a really good conclusion like And I agree. Yeah, exactly. text. So, conceptually an interesting idea. Left arm, right arm combat with like heavies and stuff like that, even kicks. Yeah, conceptually a cool idea, but like in execution just kind of bizarre how stuff works out. And that's my issue is the responsiveness. That's it. We're talking about like uh not like a dragon uh stranger stranger than heaven. That's it. What button do you use to kick? It's con It's contextual sometimes like depending on the combo it could end with a kick like a left kick or something like that. Welcome back to the stage of history. No, Tupac wasn't in it when there wasn't no Tupac. The the the summon Tupac button. I like it. I like it. Uh yeah, I'm really bummed out I didn't get to play control. my my [ __ ] ass forgot that Annaperna Interactive, I think that's who it is, is the publisher of the game. Um, and I just did not read that email like a stupid [ __ ] So, I forgot to make an appointment for it. So, I went back like on Saturday and on Sunday and Monday checking if they had any openings or reservations. And every time I went there, they were like, "Sorry, we don't have anything." So, I was like, "Fuck, dude." Um, apparently that was the game of the show. To many people, Control Resonant was like the the game of the show. So, it's like, [ __ ] Remedy is the publisher. I don't know what the hell's going on. I don't know. I don't know who it is or what's going on. Um, self-published by Remedy. I was just lost. I was just like walking around blind. Should have told them who you were. I'm not doing that. Although although as somebody in my [ __ ] ass situation, yeah, I get a lot of like very lucky that like devs running up to me, Max, have you had a chance to play so and so game? Like, yeah, I extremely privileged in in some of these game show situations, right? Extremely privileged. And I had a moment where yeah, I'm going to go try to get into control and see what happens. Like, and usually, I'm going to be honest, usually I can get in. Like, that just sort of is the way it works. I'm extremely privileged, right? Um, and then I get there and they're like, "Piss off, bitch." Like, "Now we're booked." And I'm like, "All right, see you guys later. Thanks. Piss off, bitch." Like, I don't feel bad. I mean, but it's sort of like, so that's what that feels like. Like, I had forgotten, you know? It's been a long time since like the mid2010 E3 days. Yeah. Get the hell out of here. We're all booked. like, yeah, that's fair. That is fair. You got to get humbled every once in a while. You know, I am just a dude. So, I can't wait to play it. I'm the fact that it ended up being game of the show for that many people. Um, I'm definitely looking forward to it. I'm definitely looking forward to it. No. Do you know who I am? I'm not doing that [ __ ] dude. Chad, I don't deserve anything. I don't deserve special treatment. I don't deserve any I don't deserve any of these developers time. I don't deserve it. Do they want to give it to me? I'll be very willing to listen. I'll be very willing to take time out of my day and you know I the the people that make these games are like my heroes and [ __ ] The fact that I know they've been working on this [ __ ] for years and stuff like that. Yeah. Like I I deeply appreciate how long it takes to make these things and what they're doing. So if they want to give me their time, Yes. I usually go out of my way to be like, "Yeah, I'll come check it out." I did that for several games, uh, at this show. U, but do I feel like even in my position, um, do I do I deserve this? I I hate I hate that mentality. I just can't stand it. I can't stand it. It's like, I played this game so much. I deserve to be listened to. Like, no. No. I I I deeply don't [ __ ] with that. So anyway, that's like one of those like do you know who I am like kind of things like like I'm going to pull out my YouTube channel and show you my sub count or some [ __ ] Let's see if you can get me in. Like I'm not doing that. So that's what that feels like. And it's like yes, this is what it's like to just be in a place where nobody knows who you are. Okay, that's fine. That's okay. So anyway, um yeah, I don't know, man. My dad owns Nintendo. I uh SGF was interesting this year because there was only so much that was actually playable, you know. Um do you know who I am? I'm Jack Septic Eye. Uh I talked to him a whole bunch. Had a I had a big chat with him. Uh he I actually talked to Jack for the first time. He's always been in the chat every once in a while, but in person, yeah, I had a big uh conversation with him. You know, I won't say what it was about personally speaking. Um, but I got to meet the dude and he's such a nice guy. Just a normal normal dude. Very much uh very much [ __ ] with his way of thinking and his existence on the internet. Very much so. So yeah, grabbed him by the shirt, held him up against the wall. Listen, but this Bloodborne movie now he's a m he's a really cool dude. Uh so that was fun and I got to actually run into Jeff Keley and I um I got to thank him for like what was effectively my biggest day on the internet. These announcements were crazy, like all that kind of stuff. and the fact that he's keeping E3 alive uh spiritually. Yeah. Mr. Dorito Pope himself. Yeah. And he definitely was aware. I got to take a picture with him. Um I got to also hit him up about a game which I won't talk about too much moving forward cuz I know he loves Muppets and I'm like, "Dude, what happened to that Muppet boxing game?" Uh so I asked him about it. I won't say what the answer was, but um you know, we'll probably just have to wait. Uh bricked up bricked up boxing. Yeah. What is it? Felt that boxing. Yeah, they turned over time. It's been so long since we've seen it, we thought it turned into bricked up boxing. No, no, no. It was called felt that boxing. Not bricked up boxing. I almost said that [ __ ] Been like the [ __ ] Um felt that boxing. So, I'm looking forward to that. It was pretty much Punch Out with Muppets. It was [ __ ] amazing. It was like super cool. I I think it's in a situation where it got um it got a lot of press and a whole bunch of people were paying attention to it. Chat, this this is how the industry works where you have like this little idea for a game and you make a trailer and let me show you what I'm talking about. People are like, "What the [ __ ] Max is he has he's having a stroke." Um, this is a trailer that popped up a long time ago and uh more than a year. Was it 2024? Jesus. No, it was it was one It was literally one year ago. And uh Jeff's a big fan of the Muppets. He obviously grew up with them just like I did. Uh and this trailer popped up and it kind of took everybody by storm. Fuzzy, the tournament of a million punches. You'll get yourself killed. All right, you little sack of fuzzy [ __ ] Show me what you got. What? If you're going to be champ, we got to transform you. Why are you even here? Don't waste my time, Chad. This is in engine. Save us. Fuzzy over die. And a boy. And a boy. Eat bread. Crap. Burn toast. Car blow. This man ain't going to be itself. I've been taking dumps in there all day. kind of amazing. like literally punch out with muppets. Like pretty pretty freaking hilarious, dude. Um, so yeah, I got to ask him about it and it just hopes that it comes back in some way. I got to express that. Um, yeah, that blew up. Holy [ __ ] dude. That blew up. Holy mother of God. So, hope we get to play that in the near future. I'm looking forward to whenever that gets another trailer. Um anyway, anyway, uh do we start do we start the the yappening? Is there I'm waiting for stuff to happen because things are just like being put out like by the moment. Uh do we do we start the yap? Dollitz, thanks for the 10. Do you think Revelation should have uh should go all out and consistently drop DLC within a year time span? Possibly even add in online play. Uh they said they'll only do that if the game's like really successful and there's enough demand. Uh so I don't know. I don't know that. I don't know. All I know is that Are we getting more spoilers uh for part three? Yes. Yes. There is so much reading things. Hold on a second. You think uh I want more of this combat, whatever DLC they want. I really think that they're going to do I really think they're going to do Advent Children stuff. They're just saying it, dude. They're just like literally saying it. Um who's the best resource right now? What's the ultra resource that we should be going to? Oh, also this was pretty bonkers. Look at this news. Famitsu held its 40th anniversary favorite character poll. 5,000 responses from the uh from Japan history. Uh its most popular characters. Wait, where's the image? Uh damn. Fantasy Star Online in there. Holy [ __ ] Uh, the number one most popular video game character is Mario, the Super Mario brother. Piece of [ __ ] Um, next is Cloud and Tifa. Damn. God damn. Holy [ __ ] Cloud and Tifa backto back. Uh, Kirby, Link, Leon Kennedy. That That's definitely from Reququiam. That's definitely some Reququum influence kicking in there. Uh, Pikachu. Jeez, dropped quite a bit. Dragon Quest slime. What the hell? Uh, Kiru and then Joker from Persona 5. Interesting. Interesting. Very interesting. very interesting. I like all this news. Joker's not even that cool. No, Kratos. Yeah, no cratos. Um, there's another one. Most influential games ever from 5,000 responses. Number one is Dragon Quest, which is no shock. DQ is massive in Japan. Um, Final Fantasy 7. Damn. DQ3, Pokemon Red and Green, Dragon Quest 5, so much Dragon Quest. Damn. Final Fantasy 10, Chrono Trigger, Super Mario, Kingdom Hearts, Resident Evil, Xenoggeears, Orc, uh, OOT, sorry. Final Fantasy 11 sneaking in here. Metal Gear, Yakaza, Street Fighter 2, [ __ ] Uh, six, Bonhan, Breath of the Wild. Damn. Damn. Japan isn't nearly up Breath of the Wild's nuts as the rest of the world. Uh, Tactics Ogre five, Earthbound 9, PSO. Hell yes. Is it the only Sega game up here outside of Yakuza? Is it the only one it I think it is, right? Yakaza. It is. Holy [ __ ] Sonic didn't even chart. [ __ ] No Dark Souls. Weird. Weird. No Souls games. No Elden Ring. I would definitely say Elden Ring. 5,000 is a pretty big sample size, chat. That's pretty [ __ ] big because these are actual uh like from reader polls. People had to send in responses and [ __ ] you know? You had to put in effort. Um isn't it a thing in Japan chat where they respond to letters way more than like emails and [ __ ] How does anybody know how this was conducted? Isn't that normally how it is? Where uh from like the Japanese side of things, they respond much more to like written letters. So you have to like actually write in [ __ ] stuff like that. I don't know. It's not just like put up a poll and have it and have like somebody tell you that Regina and Dino Crisis is in fact the number one most influential game of all time like type of [ __ ] Like no it's you have to like actually write out which ones they are and then they for 5,000 people they record all of it you know. So that means that it manipulating the ballots is significantly harder. It's harder to um inflate some [ __ ] if you have to manually like send in [ __ ] Anyway, stop the count. Final Fantasy 7 and DQ at the top. Stop the count. Quit it. Wonder what age demographic was. Yeah, Nick, thanks for the 10. Any chances of uh FF7 CG movie after the game concludes in the spirit of Advent Children? Would there be any room to tell a story that doesn't mess up the game in conclusion? No. We already did this. Uh actual ending of history. End it. End it. Like no. 30 years of this [ __ ] No, dude. Let let them let them chill. We do We do not need to turn this into a Star Wars prequel trilogy. No, till they're 90. Don't get me wrong, they'll make more FS7 [ __ ] That doesn't mean that this is stopping. That doesn't mean this is I but there will be there will be ways for them to tell stories and have characters that are not con not moving the narrative forward beyond the initial story. There's like a billion ways for you to do that. Like literally a billion. Yeah. Look at what Ever Crisis is already doing right now. Like Jesus, man. So anyway, Durge 2. Just Durge 2. Um, hold up. What, bro? Come on. Marvelous. Yo, Broadmore, thank you. The [ __ ] ass for you section. No wonder. Uh, hold on. Hold on. Who's the best resource? Is it Audrey, Genki? Uh, who should I be going to? Who's been posting the most [ __ ] over the past 24 hours? Well, Zenogars's up here. Damn. Zeno Gas. Uh, Broad, thanks for the 20. Damn. On YouTube super chat. Didn't leave a message. Uh, thank you so much, Broadmore. USDS, thanks for the 10. Redemption for Sephro theory fans. Um, I like to think Sephro last words as an AC are sad and not a threat. I will never be a memory. It is the tragic realization that he can't return to the planet. Um, no, that [ __ ] that was a threat. He wasn't crying when he said it. No, no, that was definitely a threat. It would have been different if his if he didn't look angry and angrily happy. Uh, hold up. But Audrey has a bunch. Then do Genky. Okay. Materia Hunter very relevant. Thank you. All right. This [ __ ] it's happening. so much so many new articles. Zack sis bigs song playable bigs. marous. I don't know about Bigs died again. Like you watched Bigs get killed again technically. Um he got shot, right? I mean, right. He got iced twice uh 13 hours ago. Uh Kingdom Hearts stuff. Kingdom Hearts stuff consider DLC. And this is from a couple days ago. Hold on source. Uh oh, wow. Let's see. Revelation director Hamaguchi says in a new interview uh from VGC that their that some of the original game story beats have changed, but their goal is to keep as much as possible from the original game. They're also I need music. I need vibes music. I'm ready to [ __ ] yap, dude. Hold on a second. Kilica Beats to my rescue. Okay. Okay. To my to my rescue, here's a link to the soundtrack chat. BTC article is worth reading directly. I'd like to uh but they have uh gotten extremely upset when I read from their articles directly on stream. extremely upset even even with crediting them. So, I'm going to do my best to avoid that. Go. Um, so the goal is to keep as much as possible from the original. Uh, they're excited to see how fans will react to the ending of the story. He says in particular regarding switching story beats, Rocket Town should have appeared in Rebirth, but you won't actually visit that location until the later part of Revelation. So that's now conflicting with some of the other stuff. Uh he notes that throughout the trilogy of remakes, the development team has lived by the philosophy that it should keep as many major scenes from the PS1 game as possible, even if they may have moved some story beats around um a bit for the purpose of pacing. Okay. Uh Hamaguchi also mentions that Katas had his vision of the story ending as well, and some of it was applied to the conclusion of the story they are telling with Revelation. Cool. They they they moved Rocket Town and your investigation of Rocket Town around a bit. I mean, we already know that they moved it moved it away from Rebirth, which is where it essentially was. More evidence of Nico's theory. Yeah. Now, this definitely this definitely lines up a lot closer to what Nico thought would happen of front loading uh the the the wind maze in the end and the the the crater pretty much I everything that I described like after the ice cliffs is the crater right it's all crater events and everything that happens therein big shoes all the way to giving Sephro the black materia it's all crater so It seems like they're going to frontload the beginning of part three with crater events, which is pretty pretty cool. Means they're not going to be hanging out with a weird cloud for that long. They're going to sort of like shortcut to it and then we're probably going to ditch cloud pretty early pretty early in the game. I see comments people saying I paraphrase incorrectly, but Hamaguchi literally said verbatim. That being said, there might be some changes that we apply. An example being the sequence of the story beats. We did make some adjustments in terms of the sequence and the order of how one of these story beats would happen in the game. But again, the general idea is not to make any changes or omit stuff. One of the examples is Rocket Town. I don't know uh what exactly is the issue with what was summarized. Um is it because of the word changed? If we are being nitpicky, then sure you can say that to be clear. But he is saying sequence has changed. But regardless, the story be order is still changed. Um, interesting. Obviously, it doesn't mean that everything is out of order or different, but in a game where you basically can decide the order in which you play it, surely the OG story beats will not always be in the same order. Changes in story beats. I'll expect it'll be like Remake and Rebirth. Some stuff happens before or after when it is supposed to happen. that and whatever they plan for Zach since he's supposed to not have a big role um to have to have a bigger role in Revelation. Uh I assume his part of the story is not going to be in a specific order following the OG, right? Okay. Can't wait to fight Skitso. Yeah, he'll he'll be there though. Definitely going to change his name. His name will not be that in the final one. Just in the same way we're not Chocoo Breeding anymore. We understand. All right. We understand. so from all the various interviews that's come out, I assume the game is going to be like Zelda Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom where you have a main objective that you need to complete with more freedom than Rebirth. However, you can take your time exploring all the other stuff around the world that you want before you do the main objective, which leads to the main story section. So, for example, if you want to do everything with the Turks and Wuai related to the game uh that the game allows, you can do so until you reach a wall where you just can't go any further. Yeah, this is this is the way that um like Elden Ring works. Like you eventually have to go to a specific direction to move the actual story forward. Um, and this is the same thing in kind of the original Final Fantasy 7. There's a billion places you can go to once you get the airship. But if you want to like shift and push the actual narrative in some way, you got to start going to other places. Um, at that point you can do more story and get more stuff to do in Wuai and thus some story beats will change but in a different order if you will. Unless he's saying that some of the main story stuff is also shifted from when they showed up in the OG Revelation. Either way, interesting to see how it unfolds. Um, looks like this is some of Audrey's interpretation as well. Uh, I will check on this article. I don't want it to pop up on stream. I will link the article for you guys over here. Let me see if I can um, pick out some notes. Hold up. There we go. Will Hojo get a good ending? Yeah, Hojo deserves a good ending. Yeah, I think so. Pojo is just like a misunderstood soul, right? He's just like misunderstood. He's just like Homelander. Everyone just wants to see him be happy in the end, right? I mean, right? moving on. You're so right. This is mega juicy. This is mega juicy. Hold up. I have to see. Uh, hold on. Pojo just dock from Back to the Future. Shut up. Shut up. Heebie Chibies, thank you for the 10. How bad do we think Omnislash is going to be? Also, what are your most excited for in terms of gameplay and exploration story speculation? well, they are directly addressing the number one issue that I had from Rebirth, which is especially noticed on subsequent playthroughs. Um, there's no actual exploration. Like, everything is handguided to see everything, right? You're literally handguided everywhere to make sure you get everything. Um, that was my issue was that there's no there's no technical surprises per zone. It's just checklisting. Um, I didn't really mind it on my first playthrough, but I really noticed it on the second. I really noticed it on the second. So, I wanted there to be legit exploration. like we should be able to miss things. Like I actually want that. I want an Elder Ring style adventure across Gaia, you know, where we just might not know. And that seems to be the number one thing uh that they're trying to focus on with this one is that uh this Rebirth wasn't an open world game. It was just big. It was like a large zone game. It was not open world. Uh it was not just a vast place you can go anywhere kind of like do whatever. um get into mischief. You could not really get into mischief in Rebirth necessarily. No, you couldn't. Not really. You couldn't go off the beaten path and make your own adventure. So, that is what they're literally saying with part three. They're literally saying you can go to places where you can be over um underleveled and run into something that'll whoop your ass. You can get into high jinks, which is like, oh, this is an actual adventure. That happens in the original Final Fantasy 7 as well. Like you can go places like some of us get, as an example, you get the submarine and you're like, "Wow, look at this underwater. What the [ __ ] is that thing?" 20 seconds. What? What do you mean 20 seconds? Like, I'm all [ __ ] dead. When did I save? Holy [ __ ] What the hell was that thing down there? I'm getting away from that actual adventure, you know? What is this timer? What is this [ __ ] Like, oh, we're all [ __ ] dead. Cool. Oh, what is this? There's like another There's like a ship down here. What is this ship? Oh, I'm just going to run in here. Run around. Bam. My entire party's confused. Everyone kills each other. Game over. Ah, [ __ ] When did I save? Oh god, I'm not coming back here forever. Um, that's what I also love about the uh the the sunken galika is that that is adventure because guess what the sunken gala is? You can run in there and fight some crazy [ __ ] at a super low level and they will blast you. However, you get in there and you put on like enemy away material and you just run to the material that's on the ground and you're like, "Okay, I'm going to pillage this place of all of its loot and get the [ __ ] out of here. I'm just going to steal everything and get the [ __ ] out of here." You know, because it has some of the craziest material in the game in that in that ship underwater. Uh, so that is fun. Like, and as a reminder, it was one of the things that was in Expedition 33 that I was reminded of. As soon as you get E SA in Expedition 33, there's like there's immediately a beach you can go to with level 80 enemies and they just smash you. But then you look in the zone and you're like, "Oh, I see shit." And you run in there and you immediately grab petoes that are like 50 levels above where you're at. And it's like developer intended. They they literally put you're a like in the exact same way that FF7 lets you sort of do this. You can go to places that you're not supposed to be there and grab some really good [ __ ] to give you like an advantage early on. It's hella cool, dude. It was like ridiculously cool. So adventure, you know, that's actually their goal with this game. Their goal is to give you a bunch of stuff to go around and do and get your ass kicked by. I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it. This is This is what makes having an airship in all the old Final Fantasy games so [ __ ] cool is that Oh, it's an it's a cactus island. Let's just beat this [ __ ] up. Oh god, we're all [ __ ] dead. Oh god. uh let me check this 20 hours ago. Oh nah. Who is this? Uh I'm shot. I'm reading. I'm making sure I'm getting the right information. Um Aub, thank you. Remember last time I mentioned about Omnislash uh and we went to the final ending of part one where it may be a failed Omnislash. I may be wrong. Well, that happened. Yeah, he omni slashes Sephro and he blocks it all. Filroity, thank you. Hasamukjisan confirmed we can boost stats like the OG in any way. Oh, you mean sources? Source source material? Not yet. That'd be a very specific question if sources specifically came back. Good question. Maybe there's a reason to actually morph things, you know. Um, here we go. What? So, um, story sequence to gain access to the highwind plays out pretty fun and might be pretty dramatic. Cool. You access the highwind 4 to six hours into the game depending on the player. You can control the highwind in the sky and choose where to drop in via parachute and land on the ground. Implementing that with smooth transitions was challenging. When you reach the edge of the map, you loop around and keep going. Looping the world map was incredibly difficult to implement, but they managed to put it into the game. Okay, very neat. Um, the sequence of the story beats might change in Revelation, but they're confident that they were able to remain true to the original. Is this a recap of what was already said? Um, there might be some changes that we apply in an example of a sequence of story beats. if you look at the order of exact story moments where Rocket Town sequence happens in the original, that should have been included in Rebirth, but it's now instead in Revelation. In Revelation, to be a bit more exact, in the second half of Revelation, that's where the party visits Rocket Town. Ah, okay. So, that's very specific. Second half, here's where Rocket Town is. Um, we did make some adjustments in terms of the sequence and order uh of how one of these story beats would happen in the game, but again, the general idea is not to make many changes or omit things. Um, David Bone Village McDavidson is very upset about this, right? uh the the man that was given the name from his parents who defined their entire life by the Bone Village in Final Fantasy 7, the husband and wife that were obsessed with Bone Village in Final Fantasy 7 that named their child David Bone Village Davidson uh are probably going to be very upset about this is all I'm saying. Um I just like my bu my villages boneless. The order might have shifted a bit, but in that sense I think we were able to keep everything as close as we can. So, I think the team and I did a pretty good job at that. I would say I'm pretty confident that we were able to remain true to the original. Okay. More confirmation stuff here. Hold up. Hold up. Am I going to play day one PC or PS5? I don't know. And uh we talked about this. I don't know how I'm playing it on day one because I'm going to wait for the demo. We're going to see how Unreal Engine Unreal Engine 4 on PC just in general can come with a myriad of issues. It's better than Unreal Engine 5, don't get me wrong, but we can wait for the demo, which will which will likely happen, and see how good the PC version holds. How good does it hold and then make that choice because there'll probably be a PS5 Pro version of it as well and a PS5 version. Um, Thazoon, thanks for the trip 7s. How sick would it be if one party member's fits were blue mage? I think it seems like they're going to be the same for everybody, but we'll see. We shall see. The fact that one of them might be summoner is mad cool. The fact that they might change the way summons work if you if you have a summon fit or a summon job makes me think that like oh maybe if because they show Kate Sith with like literally a horn like a summoner horn on his head. I'm like, bro, maybe, just maybe, the summoner fit, the summoner job in in Revelation gives you full control over the summon. Like, maybe you actually control the summon if you if you have the fit on them. That would be mad cool. Like gallion beast sort of [ __ ] That'd be mad cool. Is Barrett a bard? No, Barrett's a tank. They show Barrett. He's uh he's like a paladin or some [ __ ] like that. He has a bunch of armor on him. So, didn't Fitz have no SX stats move sets? Right. Fitz change the way the character plays. They change abilities on the character. So, changing your ability to control summons would be a big deal if you use the summoner fit. Pretty big deal. oh, hold up. Is there more quotes from VGC chat? Well, let me see. Few things that are worth discussing here. Uh, saying you pretty much need the first version of FF7 remake to get a full understanding of the story. Um talking about the abundance of mini games. Um and if addressing all the player complaints is something that they would like to do. Here's an interesting quote. check this out. Here's here's one part of this quote, chat. I do have some sort of logic with that idea and I think that it also applies to mediums outside of video games like films and TV shows. He explains when you look at all thing when things like criticisms and critiques, negative feedback and try to understand what the most common criticism is, what the median average user is saying and try to address that and adapt your product to it. It is questionable if that approach actually leads to a better product. Here's another part of this quote. um to continue. If if we were to address all of the negative feedback and even take the positive feedback into account, sometimes it's a case that you're seeing two sides of extremely like extremely opposite opinions. And applying all of it, it's possible that you come up with a product that doesn't have any sort of singular character. It's just a blank slate that doesn't really have any strong appeal. chat. I [ __ ] with this so much that creating things that feel like they're made by fans never leads to something interesting ever. Like anytime you you get something that feels like, oh, it this like addresses all of the fan feedback and then you watch it or you play it like and it just feels vapid. it feels extremely flat where it's like hm it like sort of lacks character. It lacks it feels like yeah directionless in some ways. However, if you commit to what your vision is, consider this feedback. Don't have to necessarily implement it, but redirect those feelings towards other things. Right? If they didn't like this, well, does that mean that we're going to double down on it? Does it mean we're going to triple down on it? Does it mean we're going to add all this extra stuff? It's like, no, let's do the thing that we wanted to do and keep and take this into account, but do not change it, right? And I think the biggest one is mini games where he straight straight up says people had issues with mini games, right, in the previous game. Yes, they 100% did. They had issues with mini games. Um, but a lot of people enjoyed them. There was definitely a polarizing side where one side really doesn't like these mini games and then everybody else that's playing either has no issues with them or some people extremely like them. So now we have very contrasting opinions where it's like this [ __ ] is goated, this [ __ ] is not goated. Um the original Final Fantasy 7 was designed around mini games. Like straight up designed around mini games. So the level of interaction you get around the game is way is supposed to be more than usual. It's following the same beats as the OG. Does it mean that there might be some consideration made moving forward? Yeah. Guess what? Mini games are skippable now. But guess what also is happening? There's even more. Part three has more mini games than part two. Like he just says it. He's like, "This is He's like, "I'll take the blow for this, but I am I am not faltering here. I think this is a this is part of Final Fantasy 7's identity. This is a part of what made the original Final Fantasy 7 interesting was it had all these levels of interactivity that were way different than other RPGs at the time. So, he wants to have his world have a lot of different interactivity. He just does. And it's like he's tripling down on it. And it's like, yeah, this is just the way it's going to be. He has he has changed something but literally like taking the answer to this would be like okay we're reducing the mini gamess by half our bad sorry like that would be the way of you like addressing this if you want to come out like like you would you would go to the audience and be like less mini games and you get a big old like ah and people get all excited like some people get excited and some people go oh okay instead they don't they're like more mini games this is just the way it is this is the way I want it to be. I'm the director. Sorry. Like you are playing a vision of many people that has come to light, right? But there is consideration. You can skip it if you want. There's there's ways around it. You don't have to play it. So it's like, okay, I mean I wish I could skip the way I don't even want to see that prompt on the screen. God damn it. Like I want to come to the conclusion, damn, this mini game was amazing. Damn, this mini game sucked. Like yeah, that happens constantly. even an OG Final Fantasy 7. I don't want to play the [ __ ] Mog House game again. Sorry. Uh I think it's I think it's good. We should be able to have opinions whether or not this was a cool part of the game and this wasn't. There are Dude, I am in strong opinion that I did not like several parts in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth compared to the OG FF7. Same way with remake. I'm like, this was a bit better in the old game. But that's fine because other parts of the game were just as good, if not way better. It was like [ __ ] bro. God damn. I I didn't I didn't get as captivating a dy death sequence, a dying scene. Um, and instead I got other stuff that was [ __ ] amazing like the expansion of the ghee and stuff like that. Like wa this like that was several points throughout the game where you got things that were better than the original at times and other things that maybe just missed the mark in some way. That's just that's the nature of it, dude. So yeah, I think it's fair that you have a reason to go in and come to your own conclusions. This mini game sucks. This one didn't. That's what we'll naturally do. That's what we did before, you know. Anyway, anyway, I respect them, you know, like even with a big thing like this, like you you can't have something that that directly only caters specifically to feedback, especially on the internet. Like, holy [ __ ] man. Like, they need to do a Famitsu thing where like you have to write to them if you actually give a [ __ ] about this. You can't just be posting on Twitter the lowest effort [ __ ] in human history. You cannot like you are not contributing to [ __ ] anything like the if if that's what the consideration is. Twitter posts are the lowest effort community engagement game support any of that kind of [ __ ] Your social media presence amounts to almost [ __ ] nothing in the grand scheme of things. So you have to you would have to put in effort to make some of your feedback actually heard in some way. You know, you have to put actual effort into this [ __ ] So yeah, I I appreciate them not only tuning the game based on Twitter feedback and stuff. Interesting section of interview um for the start of Revelation. Thank you. Um let me check this stuff out. Hold on a second. And here's the thing. It it might be a good idea. It might not. This is the nature of things, dude. like straight up. It just it might be that might be the right decision. It might not. And you have to respect that. You're not making the game. It's like the the same stuff of these like Zelda fans freaking out about OOT from literally a few frames of footage. Just losing their goddamn mind from a few frames. Like please, dear God. Like I I feel like I am more aggressively against Internet Hive Mind when I'm like away from it for a bit and like just experiencing what normal life is and the way that it has been for thousands of years in comparison to hearing opinions of people that are adding nothing to the conversation. My god, dude. Anyway, I definitely [ __ ] with this is all I'm saying. I definitely [ __ ] with this. Like there's a reason why I am really into this series because it it resonates with me in the way it's being developed. What's the controversy with Zelda? That it looks too realistic. That like Link has Link has realistic textures and [ __ ] Which is funny because back in the early 2000s, people were all big pissed that Zelda went too cartoony and now it's the exact opposite. Now it's like, "Oh, Zelda's not cartoony anymore. Why does this look so realistic? I can see his earlobes and [ __ ] Ew. He has skin blemishes. Ew, feet. Like, it's a good thing this these arguments are not actually real." Yeah. It's pretty much because the new generation of Zelda fans. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's kind of the nature of it. Um that's throwing them under uh under like a general lump though. It's just Twitter. It's Elon Musk generated Elon Musk money generating uh grief. That's all it really is. One second. moving story beats around. All this other stuff uh seems pretty normal. It's talking about things shifting around a bit. Hold on. I'm reading this stuff, chat. One Just vibe with me. Check this. Yeah, we we should pull up the the bone village theme. Oh, wait. It uses a rehashed theme from the other part of the game. Oh, wait. what is this thing of history? So, interesting stuff. This interview besides the usual faithful to OG as possible main story stuff. This especially grabbed me. Um, and when I say that, I think a lot of fans are probably wondering if it's truly possible to fit all of the story segments from After the End of Rebirth, uh, which we've been talking about. There's a lot of there's a lot of beats. Uh because if you apply that to your original story line where the party goes to the icicle in area um and then the northern cave, some might be skeptical if it's possible to fit that within a 4 to 5 hour range. I think we said that specifically and chat yesterday was like, "Nah, you could do it." Remember that? You guys remember that? Yes, the other day. It was like not even that long ago we talked about this. Chat was like, "Nah, you could do it." Um, so this part, I don't think I've talked about it too much before, but the way that the introduction of Final Fantasy 7 Revelation plays out, I think we were able to come up with a pretty interesting story beat. The entire story sequence where the party gains access to the Highwind, I think the way it plays out is going to be pretty fun for the fans and maybe a bit dramatic. So, I hope to look forward to that aspect of the game. They are moving the icicle area in the northern cave. That [ __ ] is not. So I might be a bit skeptical if it's possible to fit that within a 4 to 5 hour range. I'm calling it. Dude, this is the same reason why they said that like initially if you want to engage with snowboarding in some way, you have uh you have the golden saucer. And then also saying at later story beats you can also like run into that which makes a bit of sense that oh yes you play the arcade golden saucer and then there is maybe the official story Golden Saucer stuff that pops up a bit later. There might even be like an SSX style Golden Saucer arcade game and a more grounded maybe not as bonkers version of it that is at the later portion of the Is it going to open with the team getting shot out of the sky in the tiny Bronco and then you snowboard down to the crater entrance? That would be a little crazy. Um, that'd be very If the first thing you do in the game is snowboarding, that would be a choice. I don't think I would do that. That's an That's a very insane escalation. Um, I think if I just don't think snowboarding fits in the story at all early on, dude. I'll be completely honest. I think snowboarding being anywhere close to the vicinity of Aith's death, much less the events of the northern cave, I'm sorry, the events of the crater. I just do not [ __ ] with it. Like, it was weird as [ __ ] in the old game. And I feel like there's a better space for it somewhere else in the story nowadays. It was a bit tasteless. It always was like you shred down that mountain right after Aith died. It's funny though, right? I mean, I get it. If we want to put it in because it's stupid, then sure. I agree with you. I agree with you. Um, people grieve on the slopes. Yeah. They'll be they'll be snowboarding and crying. Yes. And Cloud will will be literally holding uh Spirit Aith in his arms, shredding down the mountain. Yes. Everybody else will be crying and bailing out. Shredding and crying. Shred crying. some pretty goddamn interesting stuff that's popped up over the last 24 hours, dude. I just cannot stop talking. What are these new screenshots? Where were they? Anyone? Joy came in here and was like, there's new screenshots. There's like new things. What the hell? How many dead billionaires do I drink a day? Only like one or two. Um, if I do drink any in a day, you swear the demo's about to drop. No, dude. They already said things like PAX and TGS and um, Gamescom, right? PAX, TGS, Gamescom. See, um, you'll definitely have to go someplace to play it, just like always, you know. Yes, this is uh these aren't dead. This one isn't dead billionaires. This one's rest in peach. I'll check that one. Punk. Hold on. These aren't new screenshots. No. No. They're not. I I showed these before. I had them. I had them. I showed you guys these literally. I showed you guys these screenshots the other day. You don't remember seeing that, [ __ ] Freaking make sure I have the right thing, [ __ ] Hold up. Here's all this the media shots. I'm ending the stream. Actually, I'm starting the stream and then ending it. Here's all the screenshots again. Right. These screenshots run my FF7 video, right? I mean, right, we're restarting the stream. We need to do it again. I really hope the time of day changes more in the next game, man. I really do. I really hope we get more times of day in the next one. Yeah, there it was. We We saw this, dude. He said that we will not be able to control it. He said it will be uncontrollable, but there will be storybased time of day changes. We seen a meteor lit sky at night. No, we have not. No, we have not. That is extremely low poly distance shots. Forgive the extreme zooms, but You know what I think it is, chat. I think here's here's my call just on how this works. I don't think can't find Rocket Town. I think there's a reason. There's also a crazy tornado happening over here, which is funny. Rocket Town, just for perspective, should be somewhere like over here. Like should be, but it isn't. Um, here's what I think. I think when you're flying around in the highwind, you have a big world map. When you are also flying around in the tiny Bronco, that is not the exact same map, right? You pretty much park the tiny Bronco and then it loads that area. Follow me? So, what I think is going to happen is that they kind of have a downscaled version of the map when you're flying around on the high wind in these shots. Um, these they're going to be different assets like in the same way that it is when you're on the tiny Broncos. So, you're you're pretty much chilling. It isn't like okay and then it goes to a character and immediately jump down. No, no, no, no, no, no. I don't think so. I think it's like you choose like, okay, descend here and then it loads up all the characters on the bridge of the Highwind and they jump out, right? And once they jump out, it's literally loading as a completely different map and it's loading the assets for the area that you're jumping into cuz you can't load everything. You can't just like So, it's asset trickery. Yes, exactly. In the exact same way in Rebirth, they they already solved this. In Rebirth, you pretty much park the tiny Bronco and as soon as you exit, as soon as you park and exit the tiny Bronco, it's not the same area. It's a completely different area and you get out into that area. So, it's a very clever way of cheating the scenery, you know, and I think it's the exact same thing when you're on the highwind. You can kind of cheat it and then go through and then, okay, we're going to land here. We're going to jump out here. It's not some yet like is that the way No Man's Sky does it? Anyway, I don't know. We're going to jump out here. Here's here's the, you know, the bridge, all our characters, and then jump load all the assets that are below us. That's a pretty seamless transition. It is. No, don't get me wrong. Like, they do a very I was I was floating around in Rebirth to see this and I'm like, is this actually the same map? And I I went to a spot where there are enemies, like clear enemies that should be here, and I was going around the tiny Bronco, and they're not there. I I should just show you guys. Um, hold on a second. Let me just use this as an example, cuz I think I think they already solved how the world works in relation to the player when you have to downscale the world to the player and then upscale it where it's like, all right, you can't just have everything there, you know? Um, hold up, hold up, hold up. Let me see if I can show you. Hope I don't have to load assets or some [ __ ] Hold on. Oh god. That's right. This [ __ ] has been updated. Oh god. Reaper has introduced a light social bonding mechanic. Uh, that's gone. Apparently, the social bond in Rebirth was cloud dependent. So, it's related to cloud. Um, that's not the case anymore. There is side quests and quests that move forward and it depends on how much you do with those characters that move them forward and depending on what you do, it can change the other ones. It's different in Revelation. Yeah. Like every character story is important to everybody. It's about the revelation of what what all the characters feel instead of just cloud for the most part. Uh, where the hell am I? So, uh, engage. No. Get out of the chicken. By the way, do I have Yeah, that's the original. This is my less harsh version. best chocobo. Yeah, this is the best chocobo. Okay. away from it now. And let's go to world map just as an example. Can I go to like that was a good one. Can do this. Yo, Medil is not built like Gong Gaga. Apparently, Gong Gaga is also different. It's not. It might not have all the jump pads and things like that like it had before. And apparently you don't use chocoos in the same way. Like they also confirmed that that like area specific chocobo engagements are not the same. Like you're if this is more about vertical engagement instead of like your chocoo only goes up a up a wall here, they only do this there. Like there's there's different things now. They the way you engage the world is a bit different. Jesus. UEI4 [ __ ] bro. The stutters. Yeah, Gungaga is going to get damaged by the weapons for sure. My face cam is [ __ ] massive cuz I'm just trying to show this off. God damn it. And then we yap. Shut up. actually, I realize I have not gone to these areas yet in this playthrough or since the update. So, this [ __ ] doesn't uh this [ __ ] doesn't actually update. It needs to get assets loaded. Where was the example I had? There was some enemies over here. It wasn't these deer. Oh, you get more setters than usable cuz the engine file doesn't work without updating hook. Uh, okay. There were some Oh, I know where it was. It's actually mad close over here. yes, this beach. So fast travel on the tiny Bronco. Hope we don't need to do the fog of war towers. I am very curious about remnant wave towers like what their usability will be. if they even will have anything. So, check this out, right? Okay. So, there's an area over here that you can see has no enemies. Cannot progress any further than Tiny Brock. You can also see up on the beach and everything up here. We can park the Bronco, but also can very clearly see that there is no enemies. You know, we can't go too far in, but you know, no enemies. Okay, there's like usually some things. Ah, no NPCs here. There's actually no NPCs in this area. and when we park, it enters a loading screen, loads this area of the map of history, and now we're here. That was not the same map that we were looking at. Now, the enemies are actually on the field. Now, we actually see items in the area. This is what I think is going to happen in the next game. When you jump out, you're going to get an overall general large scale world map to fly around. And it's all smoke and mirrors. Like they tricked you. Um, and when you want to jump out, they're going to be like, "All right, we're going to jump out here. We're jumping out here." It's going to seamlessly load to the bridge, and the characters are going to jump out, and you're going to fly in, but you're loading a different map. It's a completely different one cuz it would be impossible to have the entire map and its actual, you know, its actual like content available at all times. It's just too [ __ ] much. Yeah, Crimson Desert does the same [ __ ] When you jump from like a high area to a lower area in Crimson Desert, you enter like a weird digital fog gate that acts as sort of a loading in between and then you load the area that's below you, the immediate area that's below you and the stuff that you could land. So, it isn't like a true like, oh, that's the same area we're going to. It's actually not. It's smoke and mirrors. It's smoke and mirrors that this is the exact same zone. it loads that zone as you get closer and chooses what to what to load upon the descent. So anyway, that's pretty much how I think it's working in the next game. Like and that's why when we start looking at uh that's why when we start looking at screenshots like this one and you look at the environment this is sort of a generalization you know like all all of this environment is kind of a generalization of how the size of this area is. Um in the OG FF7 there's like no detail to the map that much. It's just like a map. But in this one there's going to be a sizable amount of detail. You're not going to be able to fly over and see enemies unless they're huge. Which would also make sense that you fly over this area or these areas and you actually see weapons and stuff like that makes sense where it's like something that is that massive should have a representation like the ruby weapon. Yeah. Like weapon size starts to make sense, you know? So, I think that's pretty smart. It's a pretty cool way of making this of making this work this way. You know, this weird flat land. Look at this plateau over here. I don't think we get access to that normally at all. In Crimson Desert, you can drop an item from the sky and drop it down there and it'll be there. Really? I thought I I thought I tried to do that and it wasn't there. It eventually vanished. We tried to do that. Yeah. Oh, this potentially could be the ancient forest. Maybe. Yeah, right below it's Gone Gaga, don't get me wrong, but could be. Tier solved this on potato switch one. They did. They actually did. The tifa um SID sky jump picture is a good example. Yes. Right. Okay. So, yeah, way more detail, significantly higher detail. All all these regions around here have been loaded and they are indeed the regions available. Like when you get down there, they will be represented. You know, it obviously looks crunchy when we zoom into it because we're really high up. or like thousands of feet up, but on the way down, you're not going to notice that. Cool. Very cool. I do think they're not going to let you land on everything. I do think that there's going to be like a steering towards certain areas. It also looks like Tifa lands somewhere around this area over here, like in the trailer. Let me check. Oh, Tifa's definitely dying. Yeah, I know. I think so. They're going to kill Tifa instead of Aith for sure. That's exactly what's going to happen. And Cloud and Barrett are going to become an item. Yep. Um, that was the theory, Chad, for the longest time, by the way, before Rebirth came out is that actually Tifa's going to die. Ingenious, I think. I think you can actually see this in this trailer. Long story short, world's in trouble. Very own airship and the pride of…
