If you’re feeling uninspired, give yourself space and reset your environment—less input, more stillness, and a fresh sense of direction can reignite your motivation.
Summary
Iman Gadzhi opens up about a year when he felt unusually uninspired after a decade-long grind. He argues that you don’t need more input or a bigger plan; you need space to hear your own thoughts clearly again. He shares how changing his environment—and even visiting Scotland—helped him strip away noise, reassess his identities, and reorient his compass toward a new destination. He leans on personal anecdotes, including past experiences with an Ayahuasca retreat, to illustrate that sometimes stepping back is essential for forward motion. The message isn’t about a dramatic life overhaul but about creating stillness to let ideas surface naturally. He notes that for most people, discipline—not inspiration—is what actually moves the needle, and he’s open to sharing frameworks on discipline in a future video. The core recommendation is simple: stop consuming more and start giving yourself room to breathe, whether through travel, solitude, or a quiet park visit. By the end, Gadzhi conveys renewed excitement for 2026, emphasizing that true love for the game comes from ongoing evolution rather than chasing results.
Key Takeaways
- Discipline often trumps inspiration; most viewers know what to do but struggle with execution, and Iman offers to share discipline frameworks in a future video.
- Changing environments can reset your mental state within 24 hours, helping you break out of stale thought loops and reconnect with your core goals.
- Unsubscription or reducing input is a valid step when you’re overwhelmed—less noise can unlock clearer thinking and motivation.
- Identity is fluid; revisiting and possibly re-labeling your self-narrative (archetypes, routines) can realign you with your current life phase.
- A practical rhythm is to travel or retreat briefly to gain perspective, then return with a refreshed sense of purpose and love for the process, not just the outcomes.
- The video uses personal anecdotes (10+ years on YouTube, Ayahuasca retreat, locations like Dubai/London/New York) to ground the advice in real-life experience.
Who Is This For?
Essential viewing for creators and entrepreneurs who feel stuck after years of grinding; it’s especially helpful for those who struggle with choosing a direction or who need a reminder that space can spark renewed motivation.

If you are feeling uninspired, you do not need to become someone new. You need space to hear yourself clearly again. [music and singing] You don't need more in your life. So [music] if you're feeling uninspired in your life and you feel like you're just wearing these heavy dark tinted black glasses, my advice to you would be to get to [music] my current position. I done more than 10,000 hours. dreamt that I saw my name on a gravestone. Maybe then they would give me my flowers. Mom put [music] three of our boys in a tub, same tank cuz we couldn't afford to shower.
[sighs and clears throat] So going into this year, I felt the most uninspired I've ever felt in my entire life. And maybe you can relate. So if you feel anything like I did going into this year, I am going to show you how to rectify it in this video. and I want to respect your time. So, I'm going to give you the long story short. If you feel like that's everything [snorts] you need, you can bounce from the video. But if you resonate with it, then stick around cuz I'm going to share some very intimate and personal thoughts.
If you are feeling uninspired, you do not need to become someone new. You need space to hear yourself clearly again. And sometimes what that entails is going away to a place where your identity doesn't follow you. Like here I am no one. I am nothing. I am unencumbered. You know like it's so funny like when we want to be inspired what we do we go look at Pinterest or we go look at uh YouTube or we try to get some reference points. What we do is we like we add more noise when that is the thing that made us feel uninspired in the first place.
You don't need more in your life. You don't need more inputs. What you need to do is you need to strip away the noise. you need to strip away or at least seriously reassess maybe some of your identities, maybe some of your habits, maybe some of your beliefs. And listen, I'm not saying you need to go on some big Iawasa retreat, even though I mean it was something I did 7 years ago, I wouldn't say I regret it. I wouldn't say it was truly transformative. if I had the opportunity to go on an Iawaska retreat [music] again or I had the opportunity to do what I'm doing right now which is just get away from everything which is for a brief moment in time be selfish in the moment to be selfless in the long term and this is something I really did throughout the years is I allowed myself the time and the space to take one step back in order to take two steps forward and it gets harder and harder as time goes on so I'm going to bring this message back to you and how to uh yourself if you feel anything like I did going into this year.
But and just to give you a bit of context and a bit of background for any of those that may not know who I am, I've been a entrepreneur in one way, shape, form or fashion for what 11 12 years now. I've actually just crossed 10 years of uploading on YouTube. And I'm coming off the back of in 2025, an absolutely incredible year. Now, you might be sat there going, "Okay, well, I don't understand. You just came off the back of such an amazing year." But that's the problem. like when you and it's I kind of stopped talking about more intimate financial stuff like 3 or 4 years ago and the reason why is because I think for a lot of you guys it it turns parts of your brain off now there's certain parts I'll reveal about how some of the businesses are going and whatnot but you don't understand that going into this year like now after really being a decade into first of all sharing my business my life my wins my losses and this is really my way to express myself and share my journey with you so not only [music] from as a creative of perspective.
I went into this year feeling the most uninspired I have because I'm like, I've been doing this thing for 10 years. Coming off the back of such an amazing year, you sit there and you go, "All right, well, what now? Where [music] do I go from here?" And that really brings me to the crux of this video and I want to bring it back to you now, which is as time goes on, we basically have this wooden box and in this wooden box, we collect certain stones. And these stones are basically labels that we have for ourselves, identities that we have for ourselves, the way that we view ourselves and how we interact with the world, not understanding and not realizing that as time goes on, you're allowed to take on a different identity.
And I can tell you even for me in my 10ear journey, I've taken on many identities and I've ebbed and flowed and I've, you know, growing up I was a avid avid avid reader and one of my favorite books growing up was a book called King, Warrior, Magician, Lover. And it's about these four different archetypes. And if you're part of the 20 or 25% of my female watchers, I'm sure there's uh you know your own version of this. But my point is like as time goes on, you really have to open up that box and look at all the things and as I said, these identities and these labels and these things that you've assigned to yourself and you have to question all of it.
And the reason I say that is because if you're not fully aligned with this phase of your life, then of course you're going to be uninspired. I also want to make it clear, I would say about for 90% of you watching, this is not actually the video that you need. I think it's probably a very interesting and fascinating video for you to watch, but I I truly don't think it's the video that you need. Now, most people think they need inspiration. They don't need inspiration. They need discipline. So, funny enough, that's the thing I'm much stronger at and you know, over 10 years or so, I've definitely mastered.
So, if you want me to make another video on what to do if you're lacking discipline, please, I'll be more than happy to. And I have a lot of very valuable frameworks I feel like to share on that. But discipline is what 90% of you guys are facing which is like you know what you need to do. You just need to do it. And there's been many times in my life where I know exactly what I need to do and [music] I just need to execute on it. But you get to a certain point where what got you here won't get you there.
And this is where inspiration kicks in where you you need to rejust your compass and you need to ask yourself all right is this the destination? like I know exactly if I keep walking this road, I know [music] where it's going to end up, but maybe is it time to realign my compass and set my sights and set my track on a new destination. So, if you are part of that 10 or 15% where it's not about knowing what you need to do, you generally just don't know what direction to go in life. So, in your case, that might be do I start that business or do I not start that business?
In your case, that might be do I go to university or do I not go to university? in your phase of life that might be. All right, I'm in this relationship for 3 years or 5 years or however many years. Is this aligned with where I want to be in the future? Maybe for you that's whatever answers you're searching for, you know, whatever inspiration you're trying to find in order to guide you into this next phase of life or this next sprint. I implore you not to consume more. I implore you at this phase to actually consume less.
And if that means unsubscribing from this YouTube channel, I implore you to go for it. Once again, you need to remember that life works in seasons. So there'll be a time where looking around you and seeing what other people are [music] doing is helpful to your journey. But whether that's for a week, a month, or a year, there comes a point where it's not about adding more, it's about adding less. And for me personally, whenever I feel uninspired, the reason I change my environment is because your environment, you really don't realize. There's so many trigger points in your environment that keep [music] you locked into who it is that you were when you were uninspired.
It basically just places you in this box where all of your thoughts are looped. Uh your identity is looped. And when you change environment, you basically get a chance to hit the reset button and think in the most purest form and analyze and evaluate in the most purest form. And at least for me personally, [music] and you know, maybe you've seen this in your life, when I look at the people who just kind of gave up on their evolution, like we all know those people, they just gave up on ever feeling inspired again and ever having the bravery really to kind of shake things up.
It's because they just got so dead set in their environment. Like we all know those people who just stayed in their hometown. And quite frankly, when you're repeating the same inputs again and again, of course, the output is going to be the same. So whether it's that hometown friend or we all have that one friend that got into a relationship and they just got comfortable. Uh and of course, you know, relationships are so beautiful when you have the right individual by your side. But unfortunately a lot of people get into those relationship where as time goes on you know the gears of comfort keep grinding them down and down and down and down and [music] eventually you get to a point where I said everything turns you lose the color of life.
So if you're feeling uninspired in your life and you feel like you're just wearing these heavy dark tinted black glasses my advice to you would be just take off the glasses right just take off the glasses and the way you do that is you go somewhere new. Now, for me that meant physically getting on a plane and coming somewhere new. Literally, I'm here in Scotland right now. And because I knew for me personally, I'm [music] based between Dubai, London, we have offices in New York. It's just there's too much association and there's too much noise in these cities like I have [music] too much there's too many ties there where I couldn't truly step away and take off the glasses.
So whether that means getting on a flight for you, whether that means driving for 3 4 hours and going to a new city and going on a hike or exploring or going alone and just sitting at a coffee shop and just journal, you know, it's you don't always have to do these. I really hope that you don't watch this video and think that I'm telling you to have your secret life of Walter Midi moment where you know, you drop everything and you go on this soularching. You know, for me, this isn't soularching. I'm not, you know, I don't want to sit here and sound like I'm having a midlife crisis and uh, you know, make this sound all all performative and whatnot.
Uh, the truth is like there are certain places in the world where it's hard to be inspired because you just have so much baggage there. And by the way, baggage could be good baggage and bad baggage. You know, I don't want to say that uh baggage has connotations, but of course, you know, every memory, good or bad, that you have in a place is like, you know, another rock that you're attached to your ankle. And then of course it becomes very difficult to swim in these places and bask and uh think and ideulate uh unencumbered.
And the best people I know they carve out time to do exactly this. You know wherever you live in the world it doesn't cost you crazy amount of money to just get away for a couple days in the nature in the woods and really just as I said give yourself just some breathing room you know and for a couple of days just take off the ankle weights let yourself swim a bit and uh let the inspiration come back to you not by adding more. Trust me, like that is the last thing on earth you want to do right now is add more, watch more, consume more, more, more, more, more.
Everything's about more. No, you want to hit the reset button. Just give yourself some space for stillness and peace. And um I guarantee the inspiration is going to come back to you. I think the funny thing with inspiration is we think it's like some lightning bolt that just strikes you and then now you're the inspiration's back. Like that's that's not how it works. The inspiration comes back to you in quiet moments of solace and peace and quiet. That's why these moments of inspiration feel like a gift from the universe. You know, as said, what whatever it is that you might prescribe to.
My point is, yes, I'm sure there's a large component to that. But a lot of it is just like you have inside of you ideas, concepts, [music] abstract thoughts that truly could change the world. You just have choked that part of yourself out by by simply having too much static and noise in your life. So, whatever your situation is in life, please get in your car and find that place an hour and a half away. book that flight or you know what stay in your city but find that park that you've never been to. You have no association, no identity, no nothing around it and go take your journal pen and paper.
You don't need more inputs, you need less. And it's absolutely crazy how quickly the inspiration comes back. I can tell you even for me literally within 24 hours of changing environments and getting to listen to my own thoughts in an unencumbered way, my inspiration is back. And I am more excited for 2026 than I think I've ever been for any new year. And I think for me, the love of the game has just come back. It's not about the results or the harvest. It's it's just a love for the game. So, genuinely, from the bottom of my heart, I hope you took something away from this video.
It's crazy. I've been like a older brother or uncle on here for 10 years at this point. And honestly, after giving myself a bit of room to breathe, I'm looking forward to another 20 or 30 years. So, with all that being said, as always, I'm watching from afar and I'm rooting for you.
