Summary

Far from iPhonedo’s everyday tech routine, this unboxing takes a hands-on tour through Spigen’s LS series and related shells for the iPhone 17 Pro Max. He tests multiple wallets and hybrid cases, noting how the back textures grip the phone and how tight the card springs feel. The video compares several LS variants—including the classic LS wallet, the folder-style wallet, and the ultra-hybrid designs—alongside non-LS options and a handful of decorative prints with a Star Wars vibe. Far also compares weight and grip against Apple’s MagSafe wallet, highlighting how the Spigen options stick in place even when not magnetic. A recurring theme is ease of card insertion and ejection, with comments about spring strength and the ability to fit three to five cards depending on the model. He gives his practical verdicts on which designs feel most secure and which look best in real-world use, mentioning that some designs excel in grip while others lean into minimalist aesthetics. Throughout, he emphasizes non-sponsorship and shares his own preference for a slim, Minimal look, while acknowledging the standout features of each design. If you’re shopping for iPhone 17 Pro Max cases, this video helps you weigh grip, bulk, and style before you buy.

Key Takeaways

  • The LS wallet with three cards held securely and the strongest spring in the lineup (best for reliability).
  • The classic LS Maxave-style wallet weighs 41 g and sticks to the phone like crazy, offering a robust grip without relying on a strong magnet.
  • The ultra-hybrid designs deliver a snug, all-round protection with a two-side print that creates a three-dimensional look and remains non-slippery in hand.
  • The star of the show’s favorite? The classic, lighter LS with strong card springs and a Macintosh-inspired vibe that balances weight and grip.
  • The limited-edition Spigen Classics LS with strap offers a premium feel but visually blocks the logo and wrist-strap area, impacting aesthetics more than grip.
  • Several wallets feel heavier than Apple’s MagSafe Wallet but offer superior grip and textured backs that prevent slipping during daily use.
  • The reviewer prefers the minimalist route among the options and would switch to the lighter, grippier LS variants if weight and card capacity align with his needs.

Who Is This For?

This is essential viewing for iPhone 17 Pro Max owners weighing Spigen LS wallets and hybrid cases against Apple’s MagSafe options, especially if you value grip, card capacity, and a mix of minimalist and bold designs.

Hello, my name is Far and today we're looking at some cases by Spigen. Now, this was sent to me by Spigen themselves, but this video is not sponsored. I wasn't asked to make a video about it, but I thought, why not? It's been such a long time since I made a video about cases, and I always use Apple's own cases with the own wallet. So, let's let's see what is happening. I've been trying out the Beats cases lately. I made a couple of videos about that if you haven't seen. You can check those out. And meanwhile, let's just dive into these and see what is happening. This is the LS series. This is from the LS series as well. These are wallets. This from LS series as well. So, let's put the LS series over here for a second. I actually have been seeing this wallet. So, I actually want to check that out. Let's begin with that one. All right. Easy easy to open. The back side is very rubbery. Feels like it's going to stick to the phone pretty nicely. We have a cutout here so we can push the cards out. has an interesting smell. I usually carry three cards. Let's put in three three cards. It It holds it really tightly. This is Oh, yeah. This is Okay. This easy to put the cards in or out. Okay, this is really tight. And I think the thing that is tight is the spring in this. Even with two cards, I feel like Yeah, it's going to get super tight. I mean, it looks good. Feels a little bit Let's put these cards away. heavier than the max safe. We can check that out. 47 47 48 grams versus 36. Yeah, it's a little heavier, but it's super grippy. The backside, this part is super grippy. So on the phone, yeah, it sticks like crazy to the phone. Not the magnet, but because it's not slippery, it just stays there like crazy. All right, that's not that's not bad. We have another version of that. Oh, this is pretty as well. They look fantastic and same super grippy, but this one has the the folder thingy. This is the wallet. This is the folder. And once again, the spring in this is super tight. So, if we were to put three cards in this, there's still space for more. I don't know if you can see this. There's a huge gap. It actually can hold yet another card. But the springs are I found some web results. I can't show them if you ask again from your iPhone. Thank you, Siri. It's actually a little easier compared to the wallet one. Yeah, if if your hands are dry or if you're in a hurry, this may be a problem. But they look gorgeous, 41 g. So, it's lighter than the wallet, but still not as light as the Mag Safe, Apple's Mag Safe Wallet. Of course, no animation, no nothing. But this sticks to the phone like crazy as well. This is not sliding off. The magnet is not that strong, maybe. Yeah. But once it's there, you cannot nudge it like the way you can nudge this. Let's continue. What is this? This looks interesting. Oh, this is very interesting. Once again, they solve the slippery back part with something like this. This just grabs onto my fingers like crazy. I feel like this should hold three cards easily. And we have a nice cutout down here. You can push it and then take it out. Oh, this is good. Maybe even four cards. Yeah, a little tight, but you can have four cards in here. Super easy to push it out. So, you don't have to worry that they're going to get stuck in there. Actually, we have, if you see the gap, we can't even push it further. Five cards very tight, but you still can do it. Okay, definitely an interesting design choice. plastic. Now, let's move on to this case. This is the hybrid case which goes together with this one. Oh, it's softer material here. This looks cool. It looks like has some layers. Some of them are printed back here and some of them are printed on the top. So, it gives a little bit of three-dimensional feel. There's no cutout where the camera button is. Interesting. Let's see. Wow, it's showing the orange really nicely. This actually kind of looks cool. Put this on top of it. Buttons feel nice. Now, let's move on to this. This is classic C1. Oh, the bottom comes out. I see. I see. Because this part is separate. Can actually take it off, I believe. Yeah. So, I guess you put this part first and then you add this part to it. This is very interesting. And this looks three-dimensional as well. Looks very futuristic. Buttons are soft and nice. Now, let's check this one out. This is the ultra hybrid for iPhone 17 Pro Max as well. Once again, very Star Wars like this. Almost feels like it's a sticker and it feels like it's going to come has some bubbles here. There you go. This thing has that two side print as well. Some over here, some on here, which gives that three-dimensional look. Okay, this is different. Not my favorite so far, but I like the Star Wars like approach to this. It looks very futuristic and a little bit like, okay, this is cool. Very snug and nice. All right, this is hybrid T. Oh, same thing. We can take it off now. I know where the tab is. Oh, nice. Grippy. Doesn't slide out of your hand. I like this. This is not bad. Oh, this is a good case. It's covered all the way at the bottom, all around. Very nice buttons. I like the buttons a lot. These are different buttons. And we have the hole for the wrist strap. Okay. I think so far this is my favorite case from Spigen. This is to apply uh screen protector on your device. I do not apply screen protector. So now I'm not going to do this. Now to the stars of our show, the classic LS. I'm really excited to see these. This is the AirPods Pro 3 case. This is going to be super cute. They sticking on your case, which I'm not going to do it. I think this kind of clicks. They come together. Yeah, you can click or it locks like this and then you Oh, I love this. So, it goes like this and the top goes like that. And then it opens up like this. You can see the charging light from here. You can charge from there. The speaker is open. Okay, this is super cute. It's heavy though. This thing is heavy as well. You can see the light. Look. Okay, I like this. This is the Maxave Classic LS wallet. This feels Oh, it says hello right here. This is for Apple's 50th year. Oh, actually the backside looks really really nice. Ooh. Okay. Very very plastic feeling. How many cards do you reckon? Three cards fit easily. These actually deeper than the cards. So actually you can push the cards even further down. You can push them out. Maybe even four cards. This actually has the best spring. So far, this holds the car really nicely. They're not coming out. Once again, same really grippy against the sliding off. Has that nice old school Mac look, Macintosh look. Now the star of the show probably is this one. This is the case. It is limited edition Spigen Classics LS. Oh, nice strap. This is nice. And you can take it out like this. Yeah. You can put the strap here. We have a Spigen logo here, which I wish it didn't have the Spigen logo. I wish it just looked like the old school Mac. H. This is definitely interesting. I understand why they made this limited edition. Let's bring down here a little bit. This looks cool, but I don't think it looks cool with the cosmic orange. But yeah, you can put this and then put this on top of that. See, it kind of blocks the logo, but it doesn't. It kind of blocks the wrist strap mounting area, but it doesn't. So, those could have been designed a little better, I believe. Good stuff. Good stuff. Great alternatives. Will I switch? If I switch, I'll probably switch to this case. This has been my favorite amongst all of these. These are really nice in their own way, but I like I think I like the minimalist look a little bit more. These are a little too much for me, but they are great. Great alternatives. They are They feel great. The buttons are nice. Yeah. So, if you're looking for alternatives, check these out. I'm not affiliated. I don't care what you do with this video. It's all up to you. If these weren't that heavy and held the cars a little better, I would switch to these right now. But yeah, so that's it. Thanks so much for watching this video and uh please let me know what you think about these cases. Are there other cases would you like me to unbox and take a look at? Let me know in the comment section below. And until I see you the next time, take really good care of yourselves and host Shakalan.
