Summary
MercBenzKing rolls through a night-time drive in the 2026 Mercedes AMG E53 Night Edition. He notes the car’s 4.95-meter length, 21-inch wheels, and darkened chrome from the Night 2 package, plus the aggressive wide-body silhouette. The video emphasizes the 612-horsepower output, a nod to the old E63, and the E53’s hybrid powertrain that can run on electric power at low speeds. Inside, the digital clock (IWC) replaces the traditional analog gauge, and the head-up display appears as a hologram. Mercedes’ ambient lighting can be commanded with voice, switching from red to blue, while features like the “sound experience” exhaust mode bring amplified aural feedback via speakers. He also demonstrates practical tech such as the traffic light view assist and the adaptive air vent system, which adjusts airflow direction automatically. The reviewer ends by inviting viewers to subscribe and look forward to more content.
Key Takeaways
- The E53 Night Edition combines aggressive styling (21-inch wheels, darkened chrome) with a 612-horsepower hybrid setup, offering both performance and efficiency.
- Hybrid behavior lets the engine start at zero RPM in comfortable, low-battery conditions and seamlessly switches to electric-assisted power for smoother acceleration.
- The interior features a digital IWC clock, a holographic head-up display, and voice-controlled ambient lighting (e.g., red or blue) via the MBUX system.
- The exhaust sound is enhanced by speakers and labeled as 'sound experience,' replacing the traditional exhaust button with an updated naming.
- Ambient climate and airflow controls include automatic head/upper-body focus settings, with a straightforward manual override.
- Mercedes’ traffic light view assist integrates into daily driving, helping anticipate light changes for smoother starts.
- The reviewer expects the E63 to return in the future, acknowledging the CLE 63 as a potential flat-crank alternative and signaling market strategy shifts.

And you don't hear anything. We do have the digital lights. The E63 will return. Hello guys. Welcome to Mergebansk. We are here at night with the Mercedes AMG E53 and you will take it for a drive in the night in Turk. You can already see the Mercedes store on the ground, the beautiful line. And yes, it is 4 m and 95 cm in length. So, it just fits on the parking spot. Or actually, it might not even fit completely. You can see in the front it sticks out. And yes, we have the beautiful new design in alpine gray exterior color.
The AMG Paname is lightened up. So, we have darkened chrome because it has the night 2 package and that means that the avault AMG emblem is also in darkened chrome. Beautiful illumination and a great signature so that you instantly recognize the E53. We have the Mercedes store on the ground. You notice the massive 21in rims that I will show you in more detail. Very edgy lines on the side that fade into the middle of the door and continue at the rear. And even though we have sharp lines, the headlights, however, are a little bit curved just below there.
It is very aggressive wide body. It is 1 m and 85 cm in width. Just amazing to see guys, especially with the alpine gray exterior color. And I already mentioned to you in the day drive video that it has an output of 612 horsepower. And this is a magical number because the previous generation E63 also had 612 horsepower. So it was kind of a first move to replace the E63 by the E53. Given that we all expect a CLE 63 with a V8 flat crankshaft, we also expect, or actually I do, that the E63 will return.
Let's approach it. And then you will see that the door handles, they fold out and you can just unlock the car. Amazing lights. Beautiful invitation. At the rear, we have the Mercedes stars for the tail lights on both sides. We have a red seat belt as an option, of course. And I will press the button for the electronics to work. And let's start the engine. I will just press it with my foot on the brake. And you notice all the lines, which is a great invitation. I showed you earlier what happens on the wall in front of us when you unlock or lock the vehicle.
So, I just put it into drive. It says two over here on the dash. And the engine is currently off. It is at zero RPM because it will automatically start in comfort mode. And if there is some battery left, it will use full electric power. The windows open and you don't hear anything. And if you give a little bit more gas, the engine will activate. since there is not that much battery left. But usually if you have it fully loaded, the battery you can drive at least 80 km. Let me hit the home button. go to performance AMG and then we have the IWC which is the clock or the watch I have to say.
So there is no physical watch like we used to have but now we have it digital in the screen. So the engine will shut off at zero RPM when driving in a normal way. Not too aggressive and if there is enough battery. For me it says zero kilometers but even that is enough. So if you then accelerate a little bit more the engine will take over. So at every traffic light we have the traffic light view assist. So it shows you whether the light turns green and this makes it very easy. So let's accelerate a little bit more.
Again we will see that the engine takes over and now we have engine power and electric power. It is now back to hybrid mode. And this basically results in a consumption of around 7 L per 100 km when driving combined. But you see from the reach it is not that good. It says 180 km with just a little less than half the tank. So right now we will enter the auto one. I will put it into sport plus. We do have the digital lights. So, it has an extreme high frequency. Now, we are in the tunnel and we can really enjoy the interior.
Hey, Mercedes. Yes. Change the ambient lighting to red. Okay, I'm changing the color. Amazing. Head-up display coming from the hologram right here. If you have your hands down, you might accidentally press on the exhaust button. But it is not called the exhaust button anymore. Now it is called the sound experience. So you can see over there I switch it on or off and it is called the sound experience because this the exhaust is enhanced with the speakers. So let's accelerate guys with the exhaust mode on Another nice development for the new E-Class is that you can press the temperature menu.
So the air conditioning control system and these air vents over here, you can of course manually change them. But there is also a way that you can just click on the button and you can for example say head. then it will automatically aim on your head or the upper body or just uniform or averted. But if you then change it, it will automatically goes into individual. Let's do averted. You can see it goes up. Hey Mercedes, I'm listening. Change the ambient lighting to blue. We're changing to blue. So guys, thanks for watching Merch Spence King.
I hope you like the video with the how can I help new E53 AMG and I hope to see you guys next time. Bye-bye.
