9 Forgettable YouTube Channels That Are Secretly Making Bank
Chapters25
Introduces the concept of nine overlooked YouTube channels that quietly generate significant earnings.
Secretly profitable: simple, boring ideas like lawn care, time-lapses, and 10-hour videos can rake in serious AdSense and beyond.
Summary
Shane Hummus highlights nine inexpensive-yet-profitable YouTube channel ideas that prove content idea trumps flashy production. He explains how a lawn-care business can film itself mowing and still pull in $2K–$7K per month, with flagship videos earning over $51K from a single mow-and-improve clip. Time-lapse channels that show nature or everyday processes can skew lucrative, sometimes earning $35K–$106K monthly thanks to massive view counts like 121 million for a melting-ice-cream clip. Slow-motion channels, though niche, leverage advanced cameras to attract huge viewership, as seen with a “Macro War” video pulling tens of millions of views. Relax-style channels such as Relax My Dog and Relax My Cat monetize through soothing music and have videos with 23–64 million views, generating several thousand dollars per month. The guide also covers long-tail formats like 10hour Movies, which re-upload or loop content for hours and achieve tens of millions of views, and niche educational channels like Wen Rllo that target international students aiming for elite universities, sometimes generating six-figure months for early-stage creators. Shane emphasizes that the core value lies in the idea and monetization strategy, not just editing skills, and teases a live workshop to explain how to replicate this success in 2026. He also promotes an AI tool (Niche Validator Pro 2.4) and invites viewers to join the training via links in the description or pin comments.

All right, guys. I got nine forgettable channels that are secretly making bank. And the first one we're going to start off with is called the Boring Channel. So, this is a channel about professional lawn care. And what they do is they basically mow lawns and rake leaves and weed whack weeds, etc., and record it and then they post it to YouTube. So, they basically do exactly what they would have been doing anyways because they're a professional lawn care business, but then they just post it to YouTube and they're making about $2 to $7,000 a month.
And their most viewed video, I gave this random homeowner a free makeover lawn cut, got 10 million views and made over $51,000. So, $51,000 for just recording yourself mowing a lawn and taking care of the lawn and then posting it to YouTube. Not bad. But you might be thinking, Shane, that's too much work. I want to get paid to literally do nothing. Well, here's a channel that does time-lapses. All they do is set up the camera, and then they let the camera and father time do all the work. So, just as an example, melting ice cream time-lapse.
This video got 121 million views, made a ton of money, and that is why this channel makes 35 to $106,000 a month. And they're not the only one. There's lots of channels that are basically watching grass grow, right? Because what's more boring or forgettable than watching grass grow? And they're getting hundreds of thousands or even millions of views in this niche of watching grass grow. Or how about a bean time lapse? Like a bean growing out of the ground. 44 million views. And yeah, there's this channel right here, BoxLaps. They make about 14 to $41,000 a month.
they're a bit newer and they like to film plants and film mangoes growing. So, seeds coming out of the ground or filming like a cactus coming out of the ground, etc., etc. So, it's again a time-lapse channel and they're making 14 to $41,000 a month doing this. Now, by the way guys, the point that I'm trying to illustrate here is that the idea of the video is the most important thing. Okay? That's the point I'm trying to illustrate and that's exactly what I'm going to be going over in the workshop that I'm doing this week.
A free live workshop that I'm going to be doing on Zoom called the greatest business to start in 2026. Click the link in the description and the pin comment below. The idea of your channel as well as the individual videos on your channel are the most important thing. That's absolutely everything. It's not the editing or whatever, you know, other stuff that you've heard the guru say. It's always the idea. Because all of these channels that I'm showing you are relatively simple. They just had good ideas. That's it. We're also giving away an AI that we've been working extremely hard on, the Niche Validator Pro 2.4.
So, make sure you attend this one-time workshop this week by clicking the link in the description and the pin comment below. And let's move on with another channel that watches paint dry and watches grass grow or 10 hours of jingling keys or 10 hours of horses in the field. Okay, moving on. This next channel is basically a slow motion channel. So, a little bit different than time-lapse. It's slow motion. So, for instance, like a marble hitting some liquid and the liquid going out. Now, not only is it slow motion, but to be completely fair, they do use like very, very advanced camera equipment with this channel.
So, you would have to have really advanced camera equipment. But yeah, it's a very interesting channel. They've gotten about 172 million views. This video got about 37 million views and made about $53,000. And it was just titled Macro War. All right. All right, so here's another channel, Relax My Dog. And it's literally just music that apparently relaxes people's dogs. And their most viewed video got 64 million views. They're making about 3 to $9,000 a month. Oh, and that video made $323,000. Now, by the way, these are just the numbers they're making from AdSense. That's the ads that are popping up on their channel.
And realistically speaking, they're probably making more money if they're even reasonably good at monetization, which to be fair, a lot of YouTube channels are really bad. That's one of the main things I help people with is monetization. So, a lot of YouTube channels are really bad at monetization. But if they're even reasonably good at monetization, they're making a lot more money. Just as an example, I make about $10 to $20 per 1,000 views just from AdSense alone. On my channel, this is my main channel. I make over $400 per 1,000 views from other methods. On my second channel, I make over $4,000 per 1,000 views because it's kind of a niche channel where I talk about business related stuff.
So, if you're good at monetization, you can make a lot more than this. And of course, it does depend on the niche as well. But yeah, one video, $323,000. That's like a house, basically. That's that's nice. So, if you want to learn more about how to actually properly monetize, again, attend that live training by clicking the link in the description in the pin comment below. And it's not just Relax My Dog, there's also another one, Relax My Cat. They're making about $3 to $9,000 a month. and their most viewed video got 23 million views. All right, next channel is 10hour Movies.
This channel makes 6 to7,000 a month and it basically just posts random videos, but instead of just posting it once, it posts a video for 10 hours. So, just as an example, Crab Rave 10 hours in a row on repeat. So, uh, yeah, there's a lot of that. 10 hours of it over and over again. Oh, yeah, and the Dance Till You're Dead video made 76 million views and $383,000. And the Crab Rave 10 hours video got 55 million views and made $277,000. So, yeah. Yeah, there's there's that. All right. So the next channel is forgettable if you're anybody except the very specific type of person who wants this content and that is the channel Wen Rllo and it's all about how to score really well on a particular test that international balorate students or IB students need to take and typically these are the types of students who are trying to get into elite universities.
So his most viewed video is 14,000 Welcome everybody. My name is Nvela and actually this is one of my clients. is one of my students and when I first started working with him, he was actually 18 years old and he was making random content and basically making zero dollars from the content and he's putting a lot of effort into it as well. We worked together on his niche. We actually had him dial in a very specific niche where we help him solve a big problem for other people so that you don't need to get a lot of views, right?
Because there's basically two ways that you make money on YouTube, especially if you're making educational content. You either help a lot of people, a tiny bit, or you help a tiny amount of people, but you help them a lot. It's kind of like being a general practitioner versus being a brain surgeon. They both make a lot of money, but honestly, brain surgeons make a lot more money for the amount of work that they have to do. And so, he helped become a brain surgeon. And he basically helps international students get into elite universities in the United States.
So, really good niche. And the first month that he launched this offer, he made over $80,000. And this was when he was a freshman in college. So, he was super busy as well. uh engineering and business double major, freshman in college, 18 years old, I believe, when he launched it, and he made $80,000 in a single month. So, he basically had to totally shut down his business cuz he did not have enough time to run this channel and take care of all the clients that he got from those first few videos. So, he was basically oversubscribed and so he barely even posted on the channel and he's just got an unbelievable amount of clients that want to work with him.
So, yeah, absolutely crushing it. One of my clients that I worked with was making more per month than the president of his university as an 18-year-old and a freshman. Pretty epic. Now, I'll talk about how I was able to help him get results in the live training, which I'm doing this week.
