What's happening, guys? Welcome back to the channel. Today, I have two very special guests coming on the channel, Damian and Kennedy. Uh, thanks so much for coming on, Damian and Kennedy. They, um, I'll let you guys say exactly what you do, but basically they are, uh, Christian relationship coaches, uh, specifically like spiritual Christian relationship coaches. And, um, they, uh, got on with us about half a year ago or so, a little bit longer than that. Um, and when they first, uh, started working with us, they were, um, trying to trying to make YouTube work, trying to make the business work. And by working with us, they they've now got to the point where they're they're making a full-time income. And we're going to talk about, uh, their niche, kind of, uh, the the struggles that they had coming in, um, how they were able to, uh, get views, uh, and monetize their channel and help a ton of people as well. So, Damon and Kennedy, thank you so much for coming on the channel. Thank you, Shane. Thank you for having us. Yeah. Awesome. Awesome. So, uh, I'll let you, if you don't mind, I'll let you kind of maybe in just like one or two sentences, um, what do you guys do and and how do you help people? Well, we're Damian and Kennedy, like Shane said, and, uh, one of the things that is on our hearts is to help people create or develop a healthy relationship with God and with people. Yeah. And so we're also authors of multiple books that are will help you with relationships and spirituality and spiritual growth and even content creators still and you know we're heavy on the YouTube platform and we're doing coaching as well and just love um just being able to do this ministry together and even be able to make a ministry out of it and make a living out of it so that way we can focus fully on um serving others. I I always say I I think there needs to be more couples channels on YouTube. You know, obviously for relationship type niches, I think couple channels are great, but even other types of niches as well, just couples channels in general. I think it's a highly underrated um way of kind of conveying information because like even if you're talking about like finances or anything like that, I I I think it's quite interesting to have couples channels see everyone's perspective and from like a family perspective, how finances should be uh dealt with. So, when you when you first came into the program, let's just say um when you first actually just when you first discovered us in general, how how did you discover Content Growth Engine? Um you know, maybe my brand, how did you discover us? Um how did you find out about the program? Um what were you thinking like what what made you buy the program maybe like what uh problems did you have like you you were thinking like okay should we buy it should we not uh when you first discovered us. So let's just start from the beginning and go from there. Yeah. So I saw you on Facebook and you had plenty of ads on Facebook and you know if you click one ad you're going to get another ad the next day. And so I continued to see your ad come up on Facebook. And one of the things we was at a a pivot, I guess a a a point in the road where we was like, okay, we made, you know, 10,000 subscribers in 6 years. But I told my wife, I don't know how to get you further, right? And so we was just like, you know, at that fork in the road just to make a decision. And I needed to change my mindset because I knew we was growing too slow for just the personalities that we have. I I just knew that we could do so much better and and go so much further. And so, you know, I was talking to my wife. I said, "Okay, we need to, you know, get with Shane and the group and the and the coaches to grow this thing." And so that's where one of the things that was really, you know, just that roadblock for us. What about you? And I was very at first to be honest skeptical. And I'm like, uh, I don't I don't want to do this, you know, all that stuff. But we hopped on one of the calls, I think, with the gentleman T. Okay. Yeah, this this seems legit. It doesn't seem like a scam. It doesn't seem, you know, they were just very helpful and just understanding and how they could um help us grow. And we were really at a a point where like, okay, we we love the passion what we're doing. We didn't really have vision. We were all over the place and you know even confusing because some people like what do you do? One moment you're making jokes and next moment you're talking about this and that and so you really helped with that vision and also you know we were needing to increase our income too. We were at that point like okay we got to we got to do something or we might have to pivot even in that. And so and we cannot keep on chasing AdSense. You know a lot of people want to be Mr. Beast but everybody is not like that. We're not going to put a hundred to, you know, $100,000 or a million dollar into a video and edit it for three to four weeks. We don't have that much time. And so that's why we joined the program. A few things uh on that. We we uh I'm glad you had a great experience with Tanner. We actually try to make it very clear to people that we actually give a lot of value even on the sales calls. Like we get we we're dedicated to giving value to people at every step of the process. the YouTube videos, the lives, I do a live quite often. You know, I spend two hours answering people's questions, you know, sometimes with with the lives I do. So, you know, like the the sales calls or the strategy sessions, you know, we we try to give value at every single step of the process, whether or not people end up working with us. We we just had uh someone, for instance, tell us that they actually started a six-figure business just from our free content. And they kept on coming on the lives and everything like, "Yeah, I was able to start a sixfigure business just from your free content." So we we try to we really are dedicated to just giving process uh whether or not we end up working uh with with anyone or not. Um so I I that's awesome. Thanks for thanks for saying that. That's um we we really strive to do that to to the best of our ability. And um the the second thing is uh you you kind of talked about how you were all over the place. Very common with a lot of people that come into the program. Extremely common because we're all interesting, right? We all have different personalities, but but the truth is the the market cares usually about like one thing, right? You know, the the market cares about one aspect of your personality. We're all multi-dimensional. We have lots of different interests, lots of different um you know, quirks in our personality. We want to talk about different things and you can integrate that stuff into your content. And I always recommend that people do that. If you have a sense of humor, integrate that into the content, you know, but there usually you need to pick a certain niche or a certain style of content that you want to create that is going to be what people actually end up buying stuff from you from. And then the third thing you said that really got my attention was that not everyone can be Mr. Beast and not everyone should be Mr. Beast. There's only so many eyeballs in the world. Almost everybody's already on YouTube, right? So, we can't really grow the market that much more in terms of eyeballs. there's only so many eyeballs in the world. And so what you got to figure out how to do is just instead of going broad and just getting a lot of views is serve a very specific niche of people, but serve them give them a ton of value. And that is that is really the best way to grow a business. And it's it's much more sustainable because if you just look at the numbers like there can only be one Mr. Beast or maybe maybe a few people that's on his level in terms of getting that many views, right? So, it's much better to just monetize the the views that you get in in in a much better way and serve them better and give them more value than to um than to just try to get more views. So, so yeah, I love love those three things. All right, guys. Um, and what what was the program like? How was it for you? It's amazing. It really has changed our mindset. We used to be content creators, right? Now we're business owners that do content, you know, and so for us that was the biggest shift and we are making money outside of the AdSense, right? Because again, y'all had us niche down and focus on the things that we do best. And the passion and actually one of the strategies that we decided to do is to split up. So she would do a video and I would do a video. And now they just getting Kennedy side and Damian's side. And in the comments we're seeing that it's like the the our customers and our clients and even just watchers. It's like we love seeing Kennedy side. We love seeing Davia's side. So I like one of the first people to ever do that. And then with our podcast, we come together so you can see us interacting and but I love how you know you helped us make it known to what all we have and the resource that resources that we have to help people because before it was like okay we have all these books we have these courses we have all this stuff but we don't know how to get it to people and [clears throat] one of the things as Christians you know it for me especially was struggling to like sell stuff and that's not our heart but we know that you know you need money to live and you know we have at home And so you really helped us like see it's not about, you know, we're not chasing the money. We're not chasing just to sell people, but it's like, okay, it's still a transaction, you know, we're giving value to other people and, you know, they're giving value back to us. And so you helped us get confidence in the CTAs in calling people um to, you know, our our resources. Yeah. I I know that you guys have a phenomenal product and you give a ton of value. I mean, you give so much like one-on-one support to your to your clients that that you bring in. Um and and so if you know that you have a great product that can change people's lives and give a ton of value, then it's actually in my opinion it's really your prerogative to to sell it, right? Like you really need to be selling it. And there's certain types of transformations just as an example that can happen over a course format that where they can just consume some information and they could get the transformation. There's a lot of types of transformations, especially harder stuff, like for instance, you know, starting a successful YouTube channel. It's a bit harder where you it it makes a lot more sense to do a coaching program. You kind of need that feedback, that accountability. Of course, there's a coach uh component to it, but someone just to stay on top and give you high level advice, tell you what your blind spots are, etc. And uh that's what's really going to help you to get results. And it's if if you really believe in the product, like I believe 100% in my my products, our coaching. We're we're always striving to make it better as well, but we we know that it's I I think it's like the best best on the market by far, but we're always striving to to make it better. But if you know that, then it's it's basically your prerogative to sell it. Like you like there's people out there that need your help and and you need to to sell it to them. And then, you know, if someone can't afford certain products or or whatever, you can you have lower level ones that where they can kind of do it themselves and, you know, they'll if they really want to to get it done, the information is there for them and they can hopefully figure that out. But, um, yeah, I'm glad we were able to to help you get over that because the mindset and and the money part is is is a big thing. The the mindset is absolutely huge. Um, we do have a a mindset component of the training which a lot of people really do like. Um I I you know that that's one of the things where it might be possibly even the most important thing. I don't think anyone wants to hear that. It's like oh your mindset's not right. People don't really want to hear that. But in in a lot of cases it is. Even if it's just a little p maybe you have like nine out of 10 things right but there's just that one thing that you're you know you need to to lock in a little bit. Like Damian said for six years it took us to get 10,000 subscribers. And then in a matter of four months in the um program we got to 15,000. And so from six years to 10,000, four months to 15,000. And that was, you know, because of the program giving us the strategies and just that mindset shift as well too. You were also able to get a result from from a monetary perspective. You were able to go from making almost nothing from the channel, just just AdSense money to now making a full-time income. Um yeah, tell us tell us about that. How has that been going from, you know, working for so long on a channel, not really not having it work for you, and then all of a sudden going from, you know, it's it's barely making you any money. It's probably costing you money if anything because you have to, you know, buy a camera, stuff like that, to to making a full-time income from it. For me, um, I can I can go to sleep and wake up and something can hit my bank account, which is amazing, right? And you know, we thank the Lord for that. You know, it's like, but you know, it was a struggle because I promised my fiance, she was my fiance at the time when we started the channel. I said, "Just give me two years. Two years." And I I'm telling you, we're going to we're going to blow this channel up. And it took six. Um, and I stuck with them. I [laughter] lied to my wife. Um but you know now you know we are we are just excited just to see um the money coming in from different lanes too right so you got the coaching you got um our books you know our people are just buying the ecopies of our books that you know doesn't take anything for us we don't even have to go to the post office but you know they just buying that and then our courses and so it's just so many thing and even our discovery call now which is a 30 minute coaching call, they have to pay for that as well. And so just jumping on the coaching calls with you guys and receiving that that boost and just the encouragement and hearing other people's perspectives and how they're using their channel and it's some of the same principles. You know, some person was like music, but he was trying to try to get money a different way as well. So I was like, wow. Like it's just when you when you put yourself into some of these I guess it's a mastermind uh calls you start hearing different strategies and I'm like man this is amazing. Yeah. And for me it was really like a faith move that was move as well too. It's like okay we're at this you know this fork in the road. It's like okay we can go back to 9 to fives and you know the security or we can continue to just believe what God has called us to do. And so it was really a faith move investing into this and you know just believing like okay even if things didn't work out in the past or even if the past six years wasn't what we wanted to see. We just really felt led by God to to try this program and just believe and um it's just been great to be able to even see the in the income increase and we know it's going to continue to grow as the Lord wills. But we're able to have freedom to also raise our kids which is very important to us. we um you know we want both the parents home and you know being able to instill and just have family moments together and even you know be able to in the future fund the kingdom of God and so it's like it's not just about us getting money for our family but we want to be able to fund lavishly for the kingdom of God and so as we continue to grow and build we believe with these strategies that you have provided it's helping us do just that. Right. You're basically saying that the the program has allowed you to either quit your job or not have to get uh another another job where you're going away from the house basically. So, we were already um we stepped out. We believe God called us and we would it's been a lot of like miracle things, but we knew that we're entering a season where we're going to start seeing the fruit of our labor and not giving up in those six years. And so now we don't have to go back to jobs again, you know, as savings accounts get down and things like that. And so it's just been a blessing and just really of that faith. So, you took the program, you you got more views, got more subscribers, were, uh, were able to monetize your channel. Um, and we do have a lot of people who come into the program who already have, you know, smaller channels and they're trying to monetize them and and that kind of thing. We also have some people come in that are just just brand new and but I think the reoccurring thing theme is really dialing in the niche. That's that's the thing that so many people uh can struggle with and it's such a hard thing because if you pick the wrong niche, you could potentially go down that road for years and not just not see any results, right? So, uh, and you know, it's almost like when you're picking your niche, it's almost like you just you're at a crossroads. There's like, okay, you could go this this way, this way, or in some cases, you could go 10 different ways, but one of them is is the right choice, or maybe two of them could be the right choice, but then eight of them might not be the right choice, you know? So, it it's it can always be quite difficult to to dial that in. And that's I'd say that's one thing that we really help people special like we're we're pretty much specialized in helping people do that. And then there there's even channels that have hundreds of thousands of subscribers, but they need to niche down even further or they need to expand in in some cases. There's some channels that need to expand, there's some channels that need to niche down. And so that's what we help people with. So let's talk a little bit more about that process of finding the right niche. C can you get into that process a little bit more? Yeah. And so for us, we were kind of like all over the place, like we're the brand, it doesn't matter. Just do here, go there. were funny one day and then we're, you know, yelling at the world the next day, serious and then relationships. And so we were kind of like not really serving our audience and it was more so just like what do we feel like doing and um but you know, we knew what God had called us to do for um you know, building strong families and um doing relationship God's way. And so we got back to that and y'all helped us like okay, let's you know, pick a niche. let's pick that that lane and that way we can serve um you know our our our audience better. And for us we felt like okay we already talked about this we don't need to talk about it again but that was only a certain amount of eyeballs that saw it you know um and so it's like it's important to continue to repeat the same message and um just solidifying that. And so we kind of learned that new mindset. is like even if you said it before, there was only a certain amount of people that saw it and there's so many people on YouTube and so just real still um you know packaging and giving our personality still and um you know we're goofy, we're you know we enjoy life, we're happy, but we still have a passion um for godly relationship and you don't have to tell the you don't have to tell all the story on one video. And so that's one of the things that we've learned. It's like I'll tell a piece of the story and she'll come back and tell the other piece and it just gives for better content. And then I'll come back and say, "Well, she said this." And so you really never run out of ideas, especially with your your method, the icon method as well, where we're looking at different videos that already did well and just putting our stories in it. And so yeah, and we also use like our podcast to still be able to have more wiggle room with the content that we provide and it's more so like you know what do you want to talk about today or even if it's culturally relevant and also you know just allowing the spirit of God to lead us on what we want to talk as well too and so it's kind of helped us okay we still have these other passions that we can just hash out on our podcast but you know the main YouTube is you know really focused on the relationships now you know you you might have so many different passions maybe you're passionate about traveling or something well you can integrate that into your content, but maybe that might not be the specific problem that you're helping people solve, but you can integrate that into your content. So, I I do a lot of traveling, so sometimes I'll talk about that a little bit. And um yeah, it it's it's one of those things where yeah, people people get very confused about like, okay, I'm passionate about these things. Can I talk about all of them? You can talk about all of them usually, but you need to focus on one of them in terms of the problems you're helping people solve. That's that's the big thing is like that needs to be the central focus of your channel, you know, like um for instance uh there there's there's big creators out there like Alexi. He's really into fitness. He talks about fitness on his channel, but the the central focus of his channel is um you know uh business, right? Like that's the central focus. So, um so yeah, that that's awesome. And yeah, I love how you talked about kind of ve very common people kind of just being all over the place with their their niche and then um just kind of dialing in on one thing where you can just serve your audience in in the best possible way. And it's I mean the the amount of value you give somebody if they you help them find their ideal partner is so it's a hundred 1,000 times more than what they it's not even remotely close right to to what they paid. So that's that's like way way better value than anything they paid. So um so that that's amazing that you're able to help people do that. What are your products? And so um one of the courses that we have is the date with discernment course. Um and it is a biblicalbased course on discernment and understanding between a counterfeit and God sent. We also have books um completely single and that's for you know those desiring a relationship but focusing on yourself first getting healthy first and we have completely married what we wrote together in our courtship and that's focused on a godly marriage then even has a deliver a deliverance book called completely set free and even um completely surrendered as a motherhood book that I wrote and the I guess the biggest offer would be our coaching program where we doing a a a hybrid approach where we will coach you for the first half of um the session and then the second h half of the session we will actually give you a biblical uh foundational um lesson on relationships wherever you are in a relationship because everybody comes to us differently right you might have jumped out of an abusive relationship you might are seeking the Lord for a kingdom relationship or ordained spouse whatever it is um we accept you and we will love to coach you. Don't think about the money. You will make money. I I've seen it on the calls, on the coaching calls. People do make money. And um the support was one of the biggest things I think me and you were like, "Wow, they really support us in the Slack groups and stuff like that. And also on the coaching calls weekly, you have coaching calls where you can jump on with different coaches and they will actually listen to you." And that's one of the first thing I I love Jorge. Jorge did for me. He gave me one piece of advice, one piece of advice. He said, "Damian," and he's, you know, he he said in his his wonderful voice, "Damian, all I want you to do is put a um a jot form in your description." And that's it. And that made that one decision got us our first sale in the third or fourth call. That one decision. And I was like, "Wow." you know, and so guys, do it. Do it. Shane is a great guy, right? The team is great. And so they're ready to help. And what I would like to say, I wish we had have found y'all sooner. Because we would have been able to, you know, there Yes. There's a lot of things that we learn, but I think your program also saves people time and energy by look, we've done it for you. This method works. Let me teach you. Let me help you and support you. And so if you're someone that's like, I'll just learn it myself. Okay, you might be spending some some years trying to learn, but just, you know, I think it's important for collaboration. Um, you know, there's a lot of brilliant minds on your in your coaching program as well too that are there to and so save the time, invest because you you can always make more money, but you can't get more time, right? And so yeah. Oh, thank you so much. I appreciate that. Yeah, I'll uh I will relay that to to Jorge that you said that. Yeah. Um, so yeah, I uh yeah, I I really appreciate uh all all those things you you guys said. And yeah, when it when it comes to, you know, starting your own thing, like people think you need to have like this super fancy sales page and all that kind of stuff. And we actually do make that super easy for people inside the program. We we let them literally copy ours uh if they want to. But sometimes it's just as simple as just have a link for someone to to fill out some information and book a call with you. That's it, right? Like you don't need to make a super fancy sales page. Sometimes it's just that simple and people will tell you what they want, right? So, so when I when I first started CGE, it's because I I put a link in my subscript my description and I was just like, "Hey, book a call with me, you know, with like for coaching." And then person after person after person started booking calls with me to for um uh you know, to help with YouTube, right? Some people would want help with like getting a remote job and stuff like that, but like most of the people who booked the calls with me wanted help with YouTube. So, I'm like, "Okay, well, there you go. they're telling me what they want, you know? I'm not I'm not having to guess what they want. They're telling me and it's actually like a really effective way of figuring out what what people want. So, um yeah, awesome. Uh thank you so much for coming on and uh uh let's uh let's uh scale this. Let's get another call next year where we we say that uh we've grown the channel uh much much more, right? Okay.
