Summary

AsmongoldTV’s host dives into Blood Message after a sponsor brief, sharing first impressions from early gameplay and his own curiosity about Chinese history-based titles. He notes the game’s Tang Dynasty setting around 989 AD, and comments on visuals that resemble Unreal Engine 5 quality, including skin textures and environmental detail. The streamer debates realism in combat, highlighting executions, one-vs-many encounters, and the balance between fun and immersion. He marvels at scenes like a neck wound animation and a banana-peel moment, while pondering how much of the gameplay is scripted versus dynamic. Throughout, he contrasts Blood Message with titles like Assassin’s Creed for overlap in mechanics and emphasizes the appeal of historically grounded, “soft power”-driven game projects from China. He also expresses a wish for American-era equivalents, jokingly suggesting a War of 1812 game as a substitute. Overall, his tone mixes genuine enthusiasm with cautious curiosity about gameplay depth, stealth options, and narrative tone.

We will look at the Blood Message gameplay. Uh they they uh they sponsored me to play the to look at the game and so I I honestly would have looked at that anyway, but uh yeah, I'll take a look at it. They gave it this this game apparently uh this just came out. Like I didn't even know about this, but they literally just released 19 minutes of gameplay. So that's it. India Dark. No, this is uh it's a game from China. Uh it's a Tang Dynasty like uh like something like 800 uh uh AD, I'm pretty sure. So uh yeah. And uh I want to take away game looks good. Yeah, absolutely. So I I'll watch it. Take a look at it. I haven't I haven't seen anything. This is the first time I've seen gameplay cuz I was asking I was asking them. I was like, "Well, can I show gameplay?" And they said, "Yeah, there's going to be something that comes up." So we're going to take a look at it, get into it. All right, let's go. There's apparently gameplay from older build. Yeah, no doubt. All right, here we go. This is a game plan. God damn. No purple. None. Zero. Honestly, it's historically accurate. Purple's like one of the hardest colors to create. So unless you were royalty back then, you wouldn't have any purple. That's my understanding at least. I don't know what I'm talking about. Oh, there's a hummingbird. Damn, this a game. Holy [ __ ] You're right. Yeah. to open all they were thorough. So what they do? They just go and [ __ ] like bust up and get this [ __ ] The year is 989 AD. They keep honestly they keep coming out with these games. I'm going to end up learning Chinese history. That's quite some time ago. Yeah, that's like 3 years ago. Put it on. This is good. Yeah. I want to see the more lit areas. I'm going to be honest, like if you lose that fight, like this dude was literally trapped sideways in between two bookshelves. You had a sword and he was unarmed and you end up losing that fight. That's just sad. Okay, here's the actual gameplay. All right. Damn. What the [ __ ] Jesus. Stab him through the throat. Waiting for gameplay. This is gameplay. Mhm. Holy [ __ ] Brutal. Yeah. God damn. classic normal Chinese media is more fantastical and less realistic. That's how Wy was. She saidchech. Go. This Ni's game, I think. So, yeah. Who is this? Ni. I actually don't know. I I I don't know. It is. Yeah. Okay. SP like Assassin's Creed. I think that a lot of those games are going to have like overlaps like that. It seems pretty normal. Oh. I like things like that because that's realistic. Like one of the big things about a lot of these games, maybe it's just me, is that a lot of them they don't really have like, you know, some guy shows up and there's three guys and they just wait there in order for you to, you know, like basically fight them one v one. But like if you have immersion, like yeah, that's exactly what your partner would do. Of course, one at a time. Yeah. It's just so it like especially like a lot of games have that problem. I just think it's it's just very unrealistic. And if you the thing is like a game should be fun first, but like ideally you want to have both, right? Where the game is fun and it's realistic. That guy's a [ __ ] bro. He should have seen that. I wonder if you'd be able to get a bow and arrow. Got to be sneaky. They're really going to pull this Looney Tune [ __ ] Going to pull this Looney Tune [ __ ] What's going to happen? Oh, wait. No. No. And then, oh my god, the banana peel. And then your boy just goes in there in the dust and stabs the other dude in the throat. Look at that. Oh my god. Honestly, like the guy you're with is kind of like he's a [ __ ] killer, man. Uhoh, somebody getting cut up. That's actually crazy that they showed that the blade got stuck in the dude's neck. Look at this. That's what would happen. Is that a What is that? A bamboo shield? What the hell is that? One thing I'm really curious about is like how much of this is like scripted and how much of it is dynamic because like really I I mean it seems like it's a bit of both, right? I feel like it's probably both, but it's hard to know until like you you play it for like hours, right? But the winner Yeah. I really want like I mean look at how like I mean cuz you're doing an execution then the other character interrupts the execution and then you can continue the execution. Like that that's a lot. Well, that's what I'm wondering about, right? I honestly I think it's B. The sounds. See? It's got to be QT there. There are some of them, but that's not I don't think that's that's all of it. Uhoh. They're pointing on attacking. Where are the uprising? Sorry. You going solo now? Let's go. No UI. Yeah, I'm an enjoyer of no UI, by the way. I like that. Fage. What's the game called? It's called Blood Message. I don't know if they have a release date for it not or not. I I have no idea. Got War Vibes. Yeah, I think it's going to be kind of similar to that. Foreign speech. Foreign speech. Foreign speech. Honestly, I have just ran in there. I would have We seen you do stealth. I'm not really a stealth guy. I would just I I would run in. There's like a dog that gets mad at you. Do I remember that one game I played where like you could just go into the the tall grass and then every character wouldn't be able to see you? So I just kited 10 guys into the tall grass and I just kept executing them one after another. That was bad. How do you use that? Oh, that's a guy. Oh [ __ ] [ __ ] God damn. Yeah, bro. They [ __ ] up every bookshelf in the city. This amazing is Unreal 5. I think it's Unreal 5. Like some of the skin textures look like Um Stay away. Oh, the civilians lock them out. Jesus. Well, it's probably got to be a guy in the hammer. You're going to fall through that. Oh yeah. Come on. He's got to escape the city. What I'm assuming, right? One thing I'm glad they fixed is that, you know, like in a lot of games where like you'll go into a different lighting area and your whole screen will go black. I feel like that's so immersionbreaking. I'm so glad like there's not games that have that as much anymore now. I don't know if y'all notice that. Is that a soccer ball from the first World Cup? What the [ __ ] did he do? Damning gun. Get out. Get out of here. I would shoot him with an arrow. With an arrow right now, I would [ __ ] up the chicken real good. Wait, what? A bunch of retards. Damn. What a [ __ ] morons. They took his kid. I left a message. Oh, it's his buddy. It's a big boy. I've decided to follow Governor's. Is Is that a bad guy? John Wick. Yeah. Like the Patriot. Yeah. I don't know. I'm so glad they're making games like this, man. I really am. I've been waiting on this for a while. And I think honestly like all these games, like it's the same with like Blackmouth, Wukong, or any of these other ones, especially the ones, I'm going to be real. I think it's especially the ones that are about like, you know, Chinese like uh history and like culture and stuff. I think they're going to nail these. I do. And the reason why is because it's soft power. They want everybody to play these games and they in order to do that. So they understand and they're more, you know, positive towards like China and everything. And I think that in doing so, you know, they have to make the game really good, too. So I I hope it what the [ __ ] can't we do this? No. See, we we we should be getting a game like this. That's that's instead of called Blood Message, it's called the American Revolution, and it's George Washington doing this. Okay. Like that's what we should be doing. We should have a game where you're playing with Andrew Jackson in the War of 1812. We should have that, but we don't have that. All right. So, we've got to settle for this, which is fine, but I wish as an American we had more of these games, too. I'm very happy. And uh but yeah, it's a it's a good game. And uh they sponsored me to watch the trailer and everything.
