Summary

Income stream surfers' host breaks down how to use Harbor in tandem with Claude Code to fix technical SEO issues fast. The walkthrough centers on Harbor’s site health scan, identifying Core Web Vitals problems like LCP, TBT, and FCP, and then demonstrates actionable steps to resolve them. The creator emphasizes that these techniques work across WordPress, Shopify, and custom Next.js sites, not just Harbor’s own setup. He walks through running PageSpeed Insights, inspecting each failing page, and using Claude Code to propose fixes and even test changes locally before deploying. A key feature highlighted is Harbor’s integration with Claude Code, including an added dev page to collaborate with Harbor developers and a potential SEO layer that injects optimized JavaScript for better rankings. The video also showcases practical workflows: CI/CD pipelines, regenerating images with sharp, and deploying live to verify improvements. Throughout, founder pricing and feedback loops are promoted as part of building a faster, more Google-friendly site. The takeaway is a repeatable loop: scan, fix, test, and deploy, repeating until PageSpeed Insights shows the desired performance uplift.

Key Takeaways

Guys, if you haven't tried Cloud Code for technical SEO yet, you need to watch this video. I'm going to be doing a few different things in this video, but basically I'm going to be working on Harbor, which is my SaaS project, but I'm also going to actually be using Harbor itself to identify issues. So, if you don't know, Harbor has a site health scan, which I'll go to in just a second. So, I just added my site here, Harbor, and then I scanned it, and now we're going to look at the results. But basically, Harbor is I'm trying to rank it on Google, obviously, because it's like one of the best resources to find traffic. So, I have loads of different pages, but there are some actual technical issues with the way the website's built. Now, I want to make something clear. You can do this for WordPress, you can do this for Shopify. I'm going to be doing it for Next.js in this video, just because that's what that's what Harbor is built on. But if you follow exactly what I do in detail using Cloud Code connected to your Shopify theme or WordPress theme or whatever, you'll be able to do exactly the same thing for you. So, basically, what I've done is I've done a scan of Harbor, right, on Harbor, which is a little bit confusing. But you if I click here, you can see that there's an issue or there are quite a few issues. The first one and the most important is there are performance issues. There's LCP, TBT, FCP issues, right? All of these need fixing. There's also a couple of other issues here, but these are less important because they're not actually public pages. I don't really mind if admin is missing an H1, for example. So, the main issues that we have are Core Web Vitals. Now, just so you guys know, Harbor is available to you as of today with founder pricing. I'm currently offering Harbor at a much better rate than I normally offer. I want you to know that I take all feedback very, very seriously. So, all you do is in the bottom right corner, just press messages, give Give any feedback, tell me what's wrong with Harbor, and I'll fix it as soon as possible. Harbor is an AI SEO content generator. It generates pages, it generates content, and it basically works alongside Claude Code. We've done 2,000 pages so far, 607,000 impressions, and almost 10,000 clicks, which is absolutely absurd. We've also got devs now, or the dev page, so you can now work with Harbor directly in Claude Code, which is a massive advantage. It writes SEO ready, really good articles that rank on Google, and you can use it inside Claude Code. And founder pricing is back for another 14 days. So, make sure you go and lock that in, guys. Founder pricing will probably not come back like ever, most likely. So, yeah, there's a link for Harbor in the description and in the pinned comment of the video. Now, how do we actually do this? So, PageSpeed and Core Web Vitals. So, we have issues here. So, how do I fix them, right? So, first of all, you need to do another scan, right, using PageSpeed Insights, so you can get the actual uh content here, right? Then, all I do is I just open each one of these one by one. And you can do this with Shopify, you can do this with WordPress. It's not just uh custom-built websites, right? It's It's everything. I just open these all one by one like this, so it's got all of the really nice juicy details, right? Control A, Control C, go to your conversation. Okay, so you can see here, guys, I'm inside the Harbor um directory right here. So, I'm just going to say, "Please fix these issues to make Harbor faster and more likely to pass PageSpeed Insights." If you didn't know, PageSpeed Insights is very, very important to Google. It's even more important now that there are so many bad websites being built. So, just by having this, actually I'll just say um "Start a new work tree off main and um fix them uh test locally. Okay, so yeah, this will basically just test locally make sure everything's good and then it will it's going to start from Maine right so there's no chance of me messing anything up. So yeah, Harbor in that respect is actually really really interesting. Not to blow my own trumpet but this thing that I built is really really useful just for finding issues. Technical SEO issues page speed right so as soon as you know that you've got page speed issues you can wipe that into um the page speed insights find out what those issues are and fix them and then if there are other issues here obviously you can just send this to Cloud Code as well and just say fix this I might actually add a download CSV button right here cuz that would be pretty useful and then if you don't even want to fix them using Cloud Code you can literally install our SEO layer which basically like injects JavaScript into the browser and also into Google so when someone loads the page it actually uses different SEO to whatever you have on your content management system which is something that is agnostic it can work on anything it can work on Shopify WordPress whatever. So if you do have a lot of problems you don't want to fix them with Cloud Code you can also just use Harbor's SEO layer for that too. Okay, so right now you can see what it's doing is it's using sharp to regenerate images as an in like an optimized format which is perfect this is exactly what we need. So obviously it works from 600 KB each to 9 KB each. It's just going to go through these one by one and like I said guys you can do this with WordPress too. So let me just show you quickly the way I did it with WordPress is you basically you get a WordPress website this is obviously just a taste WordPress website if you don't know what if you don't know what that is it's a just a way to like play around with WordPress right it's taste what is it taste wordpress.com I think it is. Yes, wordpress.com. And then yes, so you just set up a WordPress website like this. And then access it. So if you just want to play around with WordPress, this is a really really good way to do it. This is how I built Grove and also Harbor integrations. It was having this. So yeah, if you notice this is open in Chrome. So all you do is like um start a new session or even Claude Code Work works really really well for this. And basically just say like control my uh Chrome and find out, you know, give it all the data from the page speed uh insights this thing, right? For your WordPress website and say go through my WordPress website and fix any issues in the theme or, you know, plugin or whatever you need to do to make this website faster, right? Okay, and then my CI/CD pipeline basically kicks in. It builds on the live site. And then once it's built on the live site, we run and then the scan and send the output of that scan to Claude Code to continue fixing until we have perfect page speed. Okay, so there we go. You can see it's production now. So this should, if I'm not mistaken, be the new site. We can test that. So I'm just going to say, "Please test the site to make sure the changes are live." So it's going to do some kind of, you know, check on one of the changes it made. There we go. The deploy is live. So now if we do a page speed insights check, we should see an improvement from before. It will say failed because this is like historic data. I don't know if many people know how this works, but basically when you do your first scan, this is what people like in history have experienced, right? So like this is their old data. That's why it loads instantly. And then in just a second, it should give us the full output. Okay, so in this case mine got worse. This can happen just so you guys know. So basically you just say it got worse and then just send it again. You just keep rinse and repeating this guys. I promise you eventually it will improve. Okay, but yeah guys I think I'll leave the video there. I've shown enough like literally just keep doing this until it's perfect. Sometimes you have like a transient issue where it's not really an issue. It's just it was a bad load or something like that. That can happen. So just bear that in mind. Don't obsess too much over this number. Just make sure it gets the information it needs and see if you can improve things. Guys, I'm going to leave the video there. Thank you so much for watching. If you are watching all the way through to the video an absolute legend. I hope this helps you make a better website and I'll see you very very soon with some more content. Peace out.
