The host explains how a title misallocation accidentally labeled the stream as a gambling one, causing regional bans and subscriber losses, and describes actions taken with Twitch to resolve it.
Maximilian Dood breaks down Street Fighter 6’s Avatar-driven updates, Invincible Versus patch notes, and what Combo Breaker could reveal for the fighting game scene.
Summary
Maximilian Dood dives into Street Fighter 6’s latest avatar-focused changes, explaining why the Avatar system might actually help grow the game’s audience beyond hardcore competition. He highlights Capcom’s new Avatar matchmaking and the idea of an entirely separate Avatar mode with its own points, colors, and ranks, suggesting this could bridge casual players to the core game. On Invincible Versus, Maximilian covers patch notes aimed at curbÂing infinite assist loops, rebalancing sudden death, and tuning block strings to restore more offense without making the game unplayable. He also contemplates how these changes could influence how other fighters approach content and balance in the future. Throughout, he ties these updates to broader FGC dynamics, including tournament play at Combo Breaker and EVO, and compares Street Fighter 6’s post-launch strategy to past Capcom efforts. The conversation veers into related topics like Tekken 8, MK, and the broader trend of single-player/content-rich ecosystems in fighting games. All of this is framed with Maximilian’s characteristic enthusiasm for experimentation and community feedback, plus a candid take on how cosmetics and avatar systems can sustain long-term engagement. He even teases watching the Cosmic Invasion trailer and discusses the potential for future surprises from Capcom and other developers. If you’re curious about where Street Fighter 6 might head next, this stream lays out the bets, concerns, and hype in a very Max‑style, no‑bulls‑about‑it way.
Key Takeaways
- Street Fighter 6 will receive a major Avatar quality‑of‑life update, including an Avatar matchmaking option and a dedicated Avatar mode with its own progression, rewards, and an Avatar ranking system.
- Avatar points and new outfit unlocks indicate Capcom is betting big on cosmetic/playstyle variety as an ecosystem that can coexist with traditional ranked play.
- Invincible Versus patch notes target three core areas: eliminating assist loops/infinite combos, rebalancing sudden death, and refining block strings to rebalance offense and defense.
- Block strings and auto‑combos will be adjusted so that standing/crouching lights and mediums create more reliable sequences, while some specific loops (like crouching to standing transitions) still have tiny gaps.
- Sudden death will stay but be redesigned to reduce its painful comeback effects; the goal is to make it faster, fairer, and less punishing for players who held an advantage with fewer characters.
- Maximilian views SF6’s multi‑layer content (World Tour‑style elements, avatar customization, and single‑player challenges) as a strategic move to broaden the game’s audience beyond hardcore players.
- Combo Breaker and EVO feel like pressure points for balancing patches; the devs indicated timing patches to land well before EVO and to test changes at large events.
Who Is This For?
Essential viewing for Street Fighter 6 fans, Avatar enthusiasts, and players who follow Invincible Versus; also valuable for tournament watchers curious about how Capcom plans to balance and evolve a live service fighter without alienating its broader audience.

Transcending [music] history and the world. A tale of dudes and souls eternally retold. [music] Heat. Heat. We all need to shine [music] to see how far we come on our journey to go. [music] Searching for our star deep in the night. In my heart for that special life to shower me with love to shower me with power to sh Yo, what's up, dudes? Happy new week, chat. uh new week as we get moderately closer, just moderately closer to uh the big stuff, the extra big stuff. Hi. Hello. Uh let's move this [ __ ] around. Let's move this [ __ ] around.
Hi. So, uh yeah. Yeah. Two weeks. Um uh one of my editors, Nico, found the the thing because we were accidentally put under virtual casino, which messed a whole bunch of stuff up, apparently. uh lot of people in regions that uh aren't allowed to have gambling streams. I think a lot of people got unsubed from the channel and unfollowed. So, that was rough. Um that was rough. We found the thing that is saying that was saying uh uh that we're still a gambling stream in some way. Long story short, someone tried to put us under Virtual Cop and it defaulted to virtual casino, which is crazy.
Um, so we were a gambling stream for a little while. And in the process of doing that, just because of the the title allocation, just because of the categorical allocation, um, it assumes it's real gambling. And I'm getting a bunch of messages that are people from like regions where they can't watch the stream period anymore. And you know, they're like, I I've been unsubed from the channel and I've also been unfollowed. I don't know. And I can't watch the stream anymore. What's happening? So, I think in other regions it's specifically more strict on how this [ __ ] sort of is.
Yeah. So, uh yeah, I guess that that makes sense. Um I don't know how much of it's true. I can only I can only see what people are telling me. But if you're if you unfollow a channel, I think you technically also unsub. Um I think that's one thing that happens. Submitted two tickets and you're still waiting. Really? Yurangale, did this happen to you? Uh as a sweet I never gamble with channel points on any channel. No, it's not completely unrelated to that. Uh Jurel, were you one of them? Is it happening on your end, too?
It's brutal, man. So, I saw a pretty solid decrease in overall uh total subs on my channel, which was pretty This is crazy. Damn, that's crazy. Um, so anyway, I'm I've already sent some uh messages to some friends at Twitch to see what the hell's going on before we become permanent YouTube streamers. [laughter] I'll find out. I'll see what the hell's going on. That explains the age verification. Yeah, if that is still happening. I hope it's not. Um I hope it's not. Yeah, that would be pretty crazy if you accidentally. By the way, you're reading the chat and you cannot watch still.
Um somebody telling yield to try to refresh your browser. Do me a favor. Ask Ask asking to refresh the browser and come back in because um apparently it's still happening. Yeah, apparently it's still happening. Age verification went away. Yeah, I checked um like Edge browser and when I came back to it, it wasn't there anymore. And that's like, you know, I'm not logged in there or anything. So, yeah, the stream warning uh Nico found out where it was set that this is a gambling stream. Jesus, man. So, anyway, yeah, refresh. I'm curious. I'm very curious.
So, not a gambling stream. Nope. Go to hell. Nope, it's not a gambling stream. Go to hell. That's all. Go somewhere else. To hell. [laughter] Um anyway, yeah, it goes under this virtual gambling gambling thing, which is a problem because it it's so closely tied to a bunch of Sega games which begin with Virtua and because it defaults to the more popular category. Sadly, Virtua Cop isn't streamed too often on this website. It goes to the next closest thing at times, which is just virtual casino because it's a popular category and it gives it priority.
So, does running a mixup count as gambling? Yes, that's what it is. That's exactly what it is. Did you strike or did you throw? Go to jail. Yuran can see chat and me. All right, Juran, are we are we confirmed? Is it working for you now? I guess it was just requiring a refresh. I'm sorry if I sound weird today, chat. I had a canker on like the back of my tongue again in the same spot. Yes. All right. Good. I'm glad that's working. Um, I have to check with Twitch if it put me under some funky ass classification or something as being like a problem or some [ __ ] and I'm like, "Bro, it's Virtual Cop, brother." Um, anyway, figure it out.
I got some twang. I got some southern twang to my voice today. Uh, I can't do much about it. Jenna, you want the trailer or the third part is gambling? Yeah. Yeah, stop gambling. Quit it. Um, so we got to talk about the good news/b bad news of Street Fighter. Depending on depending on which side you're on, if you're taking a side, uh, there's a there's technically costume slashcontent drama in Street Fighter. Once again, we have to clarify clarify why. Uh, even though it is really actually cool news and I think it's something that I even um I even asked about before.
I think we actually talked about this. Um, outside of that, Invincible Versus got like patch notes. They went over a bunch of the [ __ ] that they're going to be changing for the game and it all seems pretty good. It seems like unblockables are going to become more of a thing, but who knows? They only happen so often, you know? And I think they're just I think they've just accepted that hard to blockables are just kind of a thing in the game, which is not I guess not that weird considering that hard to blockables are all over the place in games like Marvel 3 and Infinite.
However, in those games, they don't have a metered required push block. They don't. So, hi John. Um, I'll have to check it out. I'll have to see exactly how it works, but we shall see. The avatar thing is really cool. I think it is. Yeah, I think it actually is pretty sick. I should watch the Cosmic Invasion DLC trailer at least. Am I going to play Lego Batman? Probably not. I don't think so. I'll be streaming Combo Breaker this weekend. Yeah, I'm very curious. There's a lot of tournaments I want to see. There's a lot of like Mortal Kombat tournaments and stuff and uh Invincible and all the other big games.
There's a lot of announcements. Fortza 6. Um, not really. I've never I haven't not really I haven't seen much on the game Fortza. Is toon going to be a combo breaker? It is. Yeah, it actually is. 007. I think I might try 007 if 007 um gets good reviews. If it gets really good reviews, maybe is next week. Yes. I was looking at the date. Um we'll talk soon. SGF's getting close. It is. Yeah, it is getting pretty close. Crazy thing. SGF is getting close and my little girl is ending her kindergarten year of school, which is really crazy.
Which is really crazy. Subnotica 2 with the boys. I have never played Subnotica. I ain't never played it. Is it good? Is there VF news or something? Not necessarily. No, we're we're hoping. Um, yeah, Tekken 8's final character is the big thing that's going to be at Combo Breaker. Uh, the big one. You seen the fighting game collab knockoffs? What? So, you no longer are going to stream games? I have not streamed a game. Like, listen, I haven't streamed a game in decades. I don't know what channel you think this is. It's not like I would stream a whole bunch of Sega Saturn games that would possibly risk the entire foundation of my channel as being a gambling streamer in the past 48 hours.
It's not like I would rank up almost just because I'm having so much fun with the game to top 300 in the world in Invincible Versus. I wouldn't even intend on doing that without even actually playing that much. I have like a 100 wins or something like that. I have zero plans on actually streaming games. Zero, never ever for ever. Ingred, huh? Tomorrow. Uh, so anyway, absolutely insulting. Think Vega is going to make it into Tekken 8, dude. Vega, let's be real. I actually I I'm saying Vega because it better be [ __ ] Vega, but I don't want Vega in Tekken 8, dude.
I want Tifa in Tekken 8. I think that hasn't that hasn't leaked, quote unquote, which I still think is complete horseshit. Um, all that [ __ ] better be true, dude. Vega better be there. It's all I got to say. Whoever this last character is, I don't know if it's going to be that big because there there's an announcement at Combo Breaker, you know. There's a there's it's a combo breaker. I don't know. No, chat. You have to We have to ban the word Tifa. Yeah. No, I did that myself. We have to uh we have to ban the word Tifa.
No one gets to say Tifa until she's actually in announced for a fighting game. Yeah. Or until we find out who the characters in Street Fighter 6 are so that everyone can stop being so stupid about it and so goofy that this random leaker. We can say Vega. You can talk about Vega cuz Vega is supposed to be in there too. You can talk about that [ __ ] Talk about that [ __ ] T5 now for 2x. Really want a character I want to play in 2x. See all these people playing and having a good time. I just don't have anybody.
I don't like I don't have any characters from League that I really truly give a [ __ ] about. So I'm just like I just want I want what's her name? Samsara. What the heck's her name? The new girl with the gunlade. Oh, she's neat. You play LOL? No, I don't. I have zero interest in League of Legends at all. They have some interesting characters. Cena. Senna. Yeah. Senna. They have some interesting characters, but like Yeah. Gorlac. John Cena. Yo, Lamito. Thank you. Little John. What's your Tony? Tyrone offg. What about the dog? I mean, he was fun for a bit.
He was fun for a bit. I tried him again and I was like, "Yeah, I wasn't totally into him. I had fun for the time I I pretty much like grinded it out and got to the rank that I wanted to get to and I was like, "Yeah, but it's like I don't have no direct attachment to uh to League in any way." So, I'm just sort of like waiting on really cool looking characters. That's it. Excited for SGF? I think we all are. I think we all have a fair amount of excitement for Summer Games Fest.
Vi has electrics. Yeah, but she looks goofy. I don't think she looks necessarily cool. And Steve plays her. Ew. Um, Bushian Ryukat. Thank you. I have a wild theory about no word VF yet. There's been no footage of it. The trailer was stages from Stranger Than Heaven. Akira is wearing the Protags outfit. Just changed the face. Thoughts? Yeah, I always thought it was kind of funny that like it really looks like Stranger uh Stranger Than Heaven. Yeah, looks very similar in many ways. I thought that was kind of funny. We'll play Lego Batman with the dudes over the weekend.
That seems like a good idea. virtua than heaven. Um, Shadow, thank you for the 20. You can finally make your Street Fighter 6 avatar moves up with the new moves. No story mode at all. I know. We're checking out the trailer. Don't worry, we're talking about this. We're going to be going over this in a bit. Did the alerts not have any sound? They didn't. I can't hear [ __ ] now. Uh, hold on. Try to go here. Notification come through. Damn you. Come through. We'll try to figure this [ __ ] out. What about Street Fighter 6? What about Street Fighter 6?
You talking [ __ ] Uh, is there a chance to play On Musha at Summer Games Fest? I hope so. I hope so. Yeah, I would like to think there is because um it's been a while, dude. We saw it played like in full last year. [ __ ] that stuff is making zero noise. Hold on. Why? Oh, why do you not make some noise? Why? No, it is there. It's just mad low. It is there. It's just mad low. We have to bring it up a little bit. I think the audio levels are all over the place. Is there a chance to play Phantom Blade Zero again?
Uh, yeah. That's going to be coming out soon. It better. There better be. They weren't there last year. They were there the year before, right? I think so. So, yeah, I would I would be very surprised if it wasn't there. I hope they do have a public demo of some kind. That would make sense. Amod, let me repeat this. Gabriel Hawk, thank you. Those are working now. Those are working now. Yeah, Gobble Breaker is this weekend, so we'll be streaming that. Um, probably Friday, Saturday, Sunday. I'll be doing my best, right? I'll be doing my best.
Welcome back to the You want to try the Adventure of Elliot demo? No, probably not. I haven't played many JRPGs necessarily. Probably not. Yo, one B of combat. Thank you. And Gabriel Hawk, thanks for the 108 months. Yeah, Transformers OG is getting um a 40th anniversary like 4K re-release. It's crazy because like 10 years I uh 10 years ago I went to go see Transformers 86 in theaters already and then got a new one. Elliot is not an RPG. Oh, okay. I hate the [ __ ] name. God damn. Think of like ET or some [ __ ] I cannot cannot stand people named Elliot.
Jesus. [snorts] This makes me think of ET. It's very weird. Poor bastards named Elliot. I'm sorry, Elliots. I'm sorry. Poor Elliots in chat. But my name is Elliot. The name is so weird to me. Going to try the new forest. Nah, probably not. Back to the stage of history. It's Isn't a city named Pitts Burbia? I mean, sure. I'm sure it'll be successful. I hope it is. Let me get into it. Hold on a second. Let me get into it. Uh, where is my tweet? So, Street Fighter got a genuinely cool update, quote unquote update that's going to be happening relatively soon regarding freaks.
Uh, which leads us to some cool opportunities to potentially do some freak spectating, some freak tating. I wonder how they're going to balance it out because the size of freaks is very important, right? like how girthy and worthy girthy and worthy your freak is uh can have a substantial impact on how they fight. So, I'm kind of curious how that's going to work. Anyway, what are we talking about? Street Fighter 6 is getting a massive Avatar sort of quality of life update. And I'm guessing it's because so many damn people are messing around with Avatar stuff still to this day that there is ample reason for them to do it.
So, um, let's check out the trailer, break down a little bit of it because it's kind of like somebody reminded me that this is what you asked for. I'm like, what did I say? Um, apparently one of the things that we wanted was like Avatar matchmaking. We talked about it like a long, long time ago where it's like, how cool would it be if you could take your own custom character and fight against other custom characters and you could do that, but the lobby situation was very iffy. Um, what if you could do that and like even the playing field in some way to fight other people so that it wouldn't be massively imbalanced?
Like not an Injustice 2 problem where your custom characters were like way too beefy for each other and you would just like waste them in a few hits. No, no. There needs to be like a a barrier like you can only you can only be like in one spot to match against each other. So apparently we were requesting that like three-ish years ago when the game came out. So, it looks like it's actually happening. Freaky but fair. Random match. Here comes a new actually shows your [ __ ] Avatar random match. Look at all this. There's a Dude, you're literally searching for opponent.
Wow. It has matchmaking. This is very surprising to me because the last thing I thought a three years ago you said it's been that long. It's been just about three years ago. Yeah. The last thing I would think a fighting game would want to do is to segregate its matchmaking player base between people that want to use their crazy characters and normal gameplay. But I guess they do. Here comes a new challenger. John Capcom. This looks crazy. Damn. Okay, this looks dumbass fun. I mean, oh, this dude's doing Ingrid moves. Fight against each other players using any combination of fighting style and special moves you like.
All right, which is ideally one of the big aspects of building a character in uh John World Tour mode. In this mode, all fighter stats are fixed, all gauges are maxed out, and all accessory slots are unlocked. Okay, so do I still have to play through world tour to do it? Curious, dude. Do not Wow. Change matchmaking, control settings, other customizations in battle. So, it has its in avatar room. It says it up here above my whole ass head. Um, it is an entirely dedicated matchmaking function. Like dedicated, dude. That's a big commitment. You earn avatar points for completing random avatar matches.
Avatar points. Playing random avatar matches to get special colors. Wow. There's in there's normal game rewards. Is avatar points like their ranking system? Bro, they have an avatar ranking system now. become a master freak. Avatar combos are nutty. No, I know. I have a couple friends that play the heck out of this and they're fighting game fans, right? Fight in CPU battles against various masters to learn their styles and acquire their special moves. That's kind of neat. So, it even has single player stuff. Avatar Arcade. Fight against your favorite master [music] as many times as you want.
So you just fight against the master now instead of having to go through the world tour and and feeding them coffee and trinkets and [ __ ] right? Defeat different masters to max out acquisition gauge and unlock outfit two for that master. What? Damn, there's a lot of content in here. What the hell? There's actually rewards for this [ __ ] This is the world tour experience but streamlined. Yeah, it's what it seems like. And you can literally buy their moves. Wow. Okay. What is this? Pick up some rewards at the end. Street Fighter 4 ending zero of Wow, they stuck in the endings from previous.
There's it all. What the huh, bro? Street Fighter 1 ending, Street Fighter 2, three, four. What? Ingred EX color. She looks like a demon. Fight in a string of continuous battles against masters and other characters from World Tour. And then you get Ken's ending from second impact. Here comes an intruder. Bro, what the hell is this? Holy crap. [laughter] Hydrogen bomb versus coughing baby. I want to watch it again. Holy crap. Lady, chill. He works at a He works at a Starbucks. Great. Holy [ __ ] Available on May 28th. Is that the same day as Ingrid?
That's Sun Octopus. Yeah, like Sun Octopus is the crazy ass motion right in the old Capcom Allstars game. She's the one that had like the insane literal octopus motion. Uh, that's a lot. Hold on a second. Hold on a second. Uh, I want to find I want to I want to set up this gag. Yes. Tactical nuke incoming. [laughter] That's all I wanted to do. [laughter] That was all I wanted to do. Um, so anyway, yeah, this all seems like we kind of uh had a very very early game cycle prediction that this is eventually where this goes, right?
This is eventually like how this breaks down. You if if the Avatar stuff resonated so much with the audience, which it's been our it's been our longgoing presumption that that has been the case that the majority of people that are engaging with all of this Avatar free costume stuff is actually engaging with it and buying it. and it's contributing to one of the reasons why the game is not getting as much uh traditional competitive content as much as you would like. Whether it's in the form of balance adjustments, even though those are very different things, and additional costumes, those are just taking a very long time.
So everything about this from my impression as somebody that has almost literally zero experience of playing any Street Fighter [snorts] 6 outside of just ranked matches. Uh this seems very cool. This seems like this gives me a reason to want to try it out in some way because yeah, the big expansive world tour mode is something that I've never really gotten into and it's a lot now. And now that there is so many characters, now that there's so many areas and things that have been added, it feels like all right, maybe they're seeing that and they want to give people a reason just to jump in and try all the crazy freak stuff in a way that makes sense.
Yeah, we can easily have like freak freak fights and commentate freak fights and [ __ ] That might be fun. That might be actually very cool. Um, so I think this makes a lot of sense. However, I immediately knew where this was going to go. Um, and it's just because Street Fighter 6 is a game that is very different than Street Fighter 5. It is not servicing just one side of the audience. You know, like one one aspect of Street Fighter is no longer once the game has been out for a few months just specifically that are people really into this [ __ ] or people that just dropped off, right?
It seems like I mean at least from numbers and [ __ ] it seems like people want to jump in and continuously engage with Street Fighter as a game that is not its like ranked or player matchmaking, you know, and just to have fun with it. And it feels like this is another to me this is like this this does not necessarily represent people playing the game in a way that will never contribute to the actual play of Street Fighter as a game like as as a core game experience, right? Like the the competitive side of it.
Um [ __ ] no. I think that's backwards AF thinking. Number one, the reason is any content that's in a fighting game is to get you to bridge the gap, right? is to get you to bridge the gap where it's like maybe you only played freak mode freak [ __ ] for the longest time, right? And then you're like, "Oh, well, I can play other characters with my freak. I love my freak. Dude, my freak is freaking awesome. So, I'll maybe I'll try playing some other people." And then they play some other people. Guess what? They might have this thing called fun.
They might have fun with it. Especially if there's like a matchmaking to it. Other people that suck, other people that are just doing the same [ __ ] They might have fun with it. They might be like, "Damn, this freaking freak [ __ ] is actually kind of fun." I wonder wonder how much fun the normal game is. I wonder I wonder if the normal game just jumping into player matches and matchmaking just with a Ken or you or some [ __ ] I wonder if that's fun. You have to understand, chat, everything that is in a fighting game exists to bridge the gap from somebody that will never ever ever play this game seriously in any way possible to just thinking just maybe.
I like this so much, maybe I'll try. Maybe, just maybe I'll try and just maybe it's not a guarantee that you're going to have fun, but maybe you'll have fun. Maybe it'll actually be something you'll want to play some more of. Then you won't just do the freak [ __ ] you'll also do the other [ __ ] you know? Um, anyway, that's my take on it. That's my take on the majority of fighting games that have single player content, right? So, uh, my very, uh, lukewarm take is kind of summarized right here. That, uh, the everlasting question of where's the costumes has kind of been answered.
The exuberant amount of players populating Street Fighter 6 daily isn't just ranked player match enthusiasts, is people playing with their avatars and freaks against other avatars and freaks. And now they get even more. Um, and of course, like I granted it's Twitter and we're not making this in a Twitter response, but there's a a very large amount of people that think that uh this takes away from the competitive side of the game, that these things do not do not like coexist with each other, that one removes something from the other, which is a very modern way of thinking, not modern control type, but like internet nowadays way of thinking.
Um, and I'll just say that's not the case, dude. Like, the team on Street Fighter 6 that has been making the single player content and the DLC single player content is not the same people that are making the costumes for everything else, dude. It's not like again, we had a big standard of what this was going to be from Street Fighter 5 because it was just inundated with costumes, dude. There were so many costumes. it would make your head spin in Street Fighter 5. It literally it literally kept the game afloat for years. However, Street Fighter 6 does not need to do that, right?
Street Fighter 5 was a game that had very little content outside of that stuff for quite a while until it eventually got it. So, it makes sense to me that Street Fighter 6 is already making a [ __ ] ton of money. It's got a [ __ ] ton of players. Uh people think that the resources taken from one thing is not contributing to that of the other. And I think it just boils down to, dude, Capcom's probably busy. All the people that are usually doing that [ __ ] dude, are probably busy making other fighting games, right? That that could literally be happening right now.
They could be making, no [ __ ] another fighting game in the background right now. Like, it's it's hard to believe that Capcom would not be doing that. So granted, every single game gets a DLC and a postgame support squad of folks that are going to continue to work on this, to make this, to do new things, to add characters, to add single player content, to add costumes, all that kind of stuff. And that likely is only so big. The question is, why isn't it bigger? Why isn't it at the same cadence of Street Fighter 5? Why aren't we getting effing costumes, you stupid bastards?
which is the popular sentiment. Um, I think it just boils down to something very simple. This stuff probably makes money. That's it. I think this stuff engages the audience in a way that a lot of competitive mindset or people that only play the game for the sake of playing the game through ranked and stuff like that. Uh it'll be very hard for them to see because it feels like when you're at the echelon of like the fighting game community, much less a competitive side of a game, it makes you feel like you're really important because you've put so much time you put you've put so much time into it.
You've had so much of an it's had so much of an impact on you. you've had so much of an impact on it, right? You're in this like top 1% of the game. So, you feel like your voice matters more. Um, and unfortunately, I'm here to break it to you. It's just not the case. It's not the case. You feel like you you deserve something for playing the game a lot. And from a developer standpoint, um, are those people the number one players you should be thinking about, especially if you have to turn something into a product that makes money?
Sadly, no, dude. Right. You feel like Yeah. Like a lot of people that put a lot of time into the game feel like they they have stakes in it. Like it is a um like it is stock, right? I have stock in this game, dude. I have put 2,000 hours into this [ __ ] I I have stock in this [ __ ] Um, and unfortunately it represents such a small amount of people that are engaging with the game that it's like you can't ignore the people that are playing this [ __ ] like crazy. But there's a lot of other people that are trying to play this stuff.
This is just I'm trying to boil it down from the perspective. It's like if there is 70,000 people engaging with your game a week and you know there is a top 1,000 of them that are just continually and consistently playing but the other side is having issue the like let's say the the top 30 to 40,000 which represents a huge amount of these aren't coming back as frequently as possible. Then you'd start to start thinking about why like our high levels doing fine. they're they seem to be relatively cool with all this stuff, you know.
So anyway, um I'm not saying that's directly the case. You have to look at it from the perspective of like how for what side do we actually appeal towards our audiences? And I think the costume thing, the the the freak costumes especially is the number one indicator of where the priorities lie. It's the number one indicator where they keep making these things. They keep having all this stuff. There has been so many godamn freak costume additions to this game over the past few years that it's insane, dude. And people just want the same amount for the in-game customization items, like the actual costumes and [ __ ] And I just think that they have a they only have so much to work with and they are obviously prioritizing one.
And I think there's a reason why that is. And this trailer cements it in my eyes, dude. like this trailer and how much money, dude. They they are like, let me just break this down. They are willing to compromise their base core game player and ranked matchmaking. They are willing to compromise it because they see enough of an audience engaging with their game in all this avatar customization [ __ ] So, they're like, "Huh, all right." So, those folks really aren't jumping. They're not they're not they're not uh bridging the gap. They're not jumping over. So, what if we put in something that hopefully makes it?
And you have to understand this isn't in the the effort of just splitting it specifically. It's in the effort of making them coexist, right? That's kind of like that's usually why developers would do this kind of stuff, you know? So anyway, um yeah, I I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being like relatively wellreceived within the game because it's a part of the game that you just see so little of. And now that people will be incentivized to make cool characters and do cool things with them and learn cool stuff with them as well, I think it'll be pretty fun, you know?
I think it'll be pretty fun. So, but I think the long run aspect of it is so that you can have an ecosystem where all of it seems fun, right? It's is this beneficial or detrimental to non-casuals? I think it is um beneficial bro how brother from so we can we can boil it down to what highle people think of street fighter if you're under master rank in their opinion you're a casual right so do you think the majority of people that are below master rank are going to be engaging with this and really really really excited about it like the majority hell no it has zero impact on that [ __ ] dude zero impact.
What this will have is an impact that don't of people that don't normally jump into those matchmaking scenarios that are just regular gameplay and hopefully do something where you can sort of engage and fight other people because you have to realize like jumping on and fighting others and accepting that you're going to lose and all that kind of stuff is not a thing that's going to get any easier. So you just have to have people have so much goddamn fun with the game that they don't care about that and they're just having a good time.
So you have to add in extra modes that have less stakes, right? And this certainly seems like it has less stakes. You're just going to jump in and rank up your [ __ ] And my [ __ ] got a new hat. My [ __ ] got a new move. My [ __ ] got a new color. I'm just having fun, dude. I'm just like doing [ __ ] Right. That's where this stuff makes a lot of sense to me because eventually you might be like, "Damn, playing with my [ __ ] is so much fun. Maybe, just maybe, I'll go into regular rank because I really like Ryu or whatever." Right?
So, I don't think this is a bad thing. I think this is once again Street Fighter 6 gets it, dude. Once everybody a [ __ ] or a freak. I think I think Street Fighter 6 and Capcom, for the first time in literally ever, they understand like they understand how to cultivate an audience. Could this go wrong? Yeah, it could suck major ass. It could be horribly unbalanced or really unfun and or like way too topsy tur. Sure, it might not be good, but it feels like there is conscious efforts from them to try to cultivate their audience in some way that is not just the one side.
And I'll be real as somebody that has been on that one side for a very large period of my life. Um, if if Street Fighter 6 was the only game that I was playing, yeah, I feel like I'd be upset with it, too. But I play a lot of [ __ ] So, we're very used to being catered towards, you know, we are definitely way more adjusted to be like catered towards considering the history of the genre and especially with expansive content as time goes on. We are used to being the ones that are priority number one, which is the people that like kind of like play this [ __ ] the most or the the people that come back and play this the most.
And right now, we have a game that's kind of not doing that. you have a game that's sort of like prioritizing many others and coming back every once in a while, like once every six months. Here's a costume, here's this, here's that. So, anyway, I see it being a very interesting experiment and also a lean into the direction that Street Fighter 6 is not just a game. It's a normal video game. It's not just a specific hardcore fighting game. The eventual endgame of you playing this [ __ ] is just getting to the highest rank. No, I don't think that's what they want.
I think they just want to give you a ton of things to do and engage with it outside of that. And here's the problem. It's going to be very hard. It's going to be very hard for other fighting games to keep up with this [ __ ] It really is, dude. Cuz now it's already happening, dude. We get other games that have like a fairly decent amount of single player content where it's like, "Oh, there's a lot in this." Tekken, people give Tekken criticism for this because Tekken doesn't have a world tour mode. But dude, Tekken has like some of the most content that a Tekken game has ever had, my dude.
And people still rag on it that it doesn't have enough because Street Fighter 6 has all of this. And it's like, whoa. Street Fighter 6 is definitely the exception and not the rule. So, what this is doing is creating a standard that is going to be pretty high, man. It's going to be it's going to be pretty high going forward, dude. Especially after now even stuff like this is being added to Street Fighter 6. Do you think other fighting against want to follow suit with custom characters, [ __ ] Yeah. I mean, I don't know why. It seems like it seems like modes where like you level up characters and give them moves and give them stats and stuff.
I mean, to be frank, games like Grand Blue also understood this, which is where it probably got a sizable chunk of its audience, too. Like, dude, Tekken Ball is one thing, but it's a miniame, right? It's not like an ongoing thing that you give a [ __ ] about, right? It's this goofy ass like I'm going to have fun. It's it's it's neat. Something like Soulcalibur would very much benefit from this. Like, holy [ __ ] dude. Does Street Fighter 6 finally have more content than a Mortal Kombat game? If we're talking a Mortal Kombat game, we're pretty much talking Mortal Kombat 11 because of the living towers and [ __ ] I don't think it has as much as that.
I don't think it has as much because that has an insane amount of [ __ ] and costume customization per character. It has definitely more than MK1, but the Living Towers, not at launch. At launch, they kind of sucked. Um, that stuff in MK definitely has people coming back and engaging with it years later that aren't playing ranked. Yeah, it definitely does. I think MK I think MK 11 still is the the content king, right? Is actually the content king because of how much customization there was. How many other things are actually like in there for you to do?
I don't think that's been dethroned as of yet, but MK1 was obviously like the reason why people were so pissed off with MK1 is that it dropped the ball there, dude. It just didn't have that [ __ ] So, you say MK9 different modes it had. Modes are fun, but it's like Tekken Ball. You're only going to be into it so much. And a mode is a mode. Endings are endings, right? A story mode's a story mode. But the Living Towers was a thing that you continually come back and refresh like daily. Like it was almost literally daily rewards type [ __ ] So they they almost created a system that did not cost extra money.
They didn't do the gotcha thing, but dude, they it was practically like a mobile game, you know, the and the only thing they try to expand upon that is in MK1 where the characters had battle passes for the most part, but most of the characters and the things that you got for free from the previous games now became paid for, which was where there was a very big disconnect from Mortal Kombat 11 to Mortal Kombat 1. Fighting games should have a rog light mode. Yeah, I think that's an a thing that based on the existing assets and what's available that you could do.
Yeah, MK1 has living towers now. It's too late, dude. Everyone's minds were made up on that [ __ ] because the majority of what people had to engage with in MK1 was conquest mode or whatever the hell it was. Can't remember the board game mode, which was kind of a slog. It was almost like everything launched in MK1 too early. It was too early. MK1 had nothing to unlock. It had very little. Yeah. I mean, you had the costume. Remember the battle pass costume [ __ ] You had that, but invasion mode. Thank you. Was called invasion. Either way, I still think this is cool.
But [ __ ] I've been asking for a game shakeup for over a year and a half. Like, even I've been like, "All right, it's the two-year mark of Street Fighter. Time for that shakeup, bro." And people were at that time were like, "No, game's fine. No." And I was like, "Oh, usually usually there's like a shakeup right now." Um, yeah, that's what I want. I want there to be I want there to be something that makes me rethink of how to play the game. That's it. That's it. You know, maybe this year, could be this year, could be uh could be season 4.
Who knows? Everyone's still playing season one [ __ ] I mean, yeah. Yeah. Like what? I want a drive impact. I want a jumping drive impact that goes backwards and cuts the screen where you exit there and you enter from here. I want an air drive impact that full stuns to full combo has does has the same hits of armor and acts like scorpions teleport from Injustice one. Let's go, dude. Let's go. Air drive impact, bro. Come on. Let's shake this [ __ ] up. Let's take that hourglass and just Yeah. Holy [ __ ] Do not let him cook. Let stop this man from cooking.
[laughter] Um air blocking and parrying. I don't think they're going to do that. Dude, could you imagine air parry? Dude, this game already is filling your brain with so many things that can happen in each moment to sort of account for it. Could you imagine if they also added in? Now I have to think of should I anti-air them or not? [laughter] [gasps] Oh god, this game already has like decision paralysis in many ways. You see it at the highest level. Dudes just get like decision fatigue and then they just sort of like uh uh even at the highest level, dude.
So imagine now not even jumping is safe, bro. [laughter] Oh [ __ ] Anyway, maybe that's what they want. Who knows? No, Street Fighter has never had shakeups that just delete the old gameplay. They don't. Street Fighter 4 and Street Fighter 5 never do that. They They just expanded upon what was already there and fixed obvious problems and [ __ ] It was like Street Fighter 5 getting rid of throw loops, like all that kind of stuff. That happened, man. The game already has enough mechanics kind of. Things need to get refined. I don't think they will add anything that involves new animations for all characters.
If it's a sizable shakeup, they might. They actually might. They actually might. Don't mess with the cash cow. Don't mess with the cash cow. There probably is a part of that just in general. There probably is cuz if something is successful and the majority of people are happy, why [ __ ] with it? I think also you can't just add I I think once again here's so I disagree with it. Number one I disagree with it because games are supposed to expand and change. They're supposed to and even if even if the current player base is happy with something you need to surprise people cuz guess what?
You can always make more money, right? You can literally bring more people in. There's a way. You don't have to you don't have to just be satisfied with just the way things are. No, no, no. You can you can create a reason for a bunch of people to show up and want to jump back in and buy new things, right? And to be honest, this like this mode is honestly one of those things for a lot of people that never engaged with Street Fighter as a uh an online ranked matchmaking game. No, this Avatar stuff is for people to come back and buy Avatar [ __ ] No.
What if it ends up like Tekken 8? I mean, yesesh. I don't think anybody wants it to end up like Tekken 8. My god. Uh, that was severely that chat that [ __ ] has it. I'm not saying it couldn't happen. It could happen, but I don't think it would. I feel like these devs have more of a chip on their shoulder. They've been through some [ __ ] dude. These guys have been through Street Fighter 5, okay? They had to bring that [ __ ] up from the grave. Uh, I don't know, dude. Could this be the first Street Fighter game that never gets a shakeup seems unlikely?
Exactly. That's exactly what I mean. It just seems like unlikely. Uh, chat, I got to go take my baby upstairs. Hold on a second. Uh, I gotta go. She's She fell asleep mad early, dude. Here. Uh. Yeah. Hey, hold on a second. I'm looking looking. The baby fell asleep. Yeah, there's another trailer. I know. I'm going to check it out. Sorry, Ripley fell asleep really early. Welcome back to the stage of history. Sorry, I'm looking at my own videos and giggling. That's all I'm doing here. Check this [ __ ] out. Give me a second. Five is still considered a baby.
Yep, that's the way it goes. That's the way it goes. That's still my baby. It's the way it goes. Release of Mortal Kombat X. Today we commence one of the most requested boss rages ever. Kahan and his multiple minions in challenge tower number 300 on Mortal Kombat 9 is easily the most difficult aspect of the game. But first, I have a personal bout with Kahan as it's been over a decade since I've beaten a Mortal Kombat game by myself. We start on beginner. Then it goes to easy to medium to hard to expert and that's where it stops.
Expert difficulty. Mortal Kombat 9. Oh, and I have to choose it again. Do it twice. All right. Dude, are you sure? Are you [ __ ] sure? Come on, son of a [ __ ] Got it. Dude, this this Johnny loves the block. Yeah, he really does. Can you tell we're playing on expert, right? Let's [ __ ] Oh no. Let's rock. Let's [ __ ] rock. Split this guy by his junk. Oh jeez. Actually, I'm a little disturbed, dude. And he was still screaming up until the head. Oh, god damn. What the [ __ ] are we doing fighting Kratos? This makes no sense.
What? Fell for this. You fell for this. Shut up, dude. This game This game is easy. This game's easy, man. I don't know. I've been playing some I've been playing a lot of fighting games over the past year, trying to find the hardest ones. Shit's pretty easy. Move with Max. Got him. Oh, get that [ __ ] out of here. I'm going to make Kratos yak on my knee. Oh, there it is. Oh, very sexy. Let's [ __ ] go. I've been practicing, son. You son of a [ __ ] I swear to God. We got it. Tech, we got it.
Take this guy down. This one's actually rather depressing cuz he's like, "Oh, I'm okay. back. I need some [ __ ] help. Please, sir. Please. Anything. Please. Nothing to do with it. Kids love Baraka. Kids love Sonic the Hedgehog and Baraka. Oh no. [ __ ] [ __ ] [ __ ] [ __ ] [ __ ] Got him. Very cool. Very cool. No. [ __ ] this guy. You wake up [ __ ] every time. The bucket. Oh. Oh. What the [ __ ] Hit him with the hammer. Give it to him. Son of a [ __ ] [ __ ] off. [screaming] Oh, that smoke is so cool. And now he's dead as balls. Oh god, no.
No. Spit this [ __ ] on this guy. Kenshi, you sick as hell. You're one of the coolest characters in all of Mortal Kombat. [ __ ] He bullshitted me. God damn it. Corner. Get that corner. [ __ ] Right off, Kenchi. You're awesome, but your dicks, son. Sorry, Kenchi. You're cool and all, but that means I have to give you the most brutal death possible. What the [ __ ] Whoa. Yeah, Shang Tsung got [ __ ] combos. That was some [ __ ] Did you see that? He didn't even care that he got hit. What the hell is Oh, that corner. [ __ ] destroyed. Oh my god, dude.
Ste from Batality. get wrecked. Get the [ __ ] out, Kratos. Oh my god. Go back to your own goddamn game. I don't know. This guy's just a big kitty cat. Little kitty cat. This guy is just a big kitty cat. Smash his head. the big Oh, dang. Let's go. Oh, [screaming] I [ __ ] it up, guys. Thank you. Woo! Got him. Red like a like a clown. I don't think he's ready. I don't I don't know. We've We've been waiting the entirety of boss rage to get to this guy and I've only died two or three times.
Ow. All right. Kind of painful. Ow. Oh no. I got stuck. I saw pocket back. Oh my god. He doesn't. All right. He clearly does not follow M [ __ ] rules. Oh, you piece of [ __ ] Disrespectful. You piece of [ __ ] What does he do? Oh [screaming] my body. Who I am? Oh. No, it doesn't work. It doesn't work. That's [ __ ] shot. Damn it, man. One round down. This guy is brain dead. Look at this. Brain dead. A problem. there it is. Done. Oh, my bad. down for explosion. Get him out of here. Oh, he's not dead.
He's get back up. [groaning] There you go. That guy's like, "Oh my god, this is the new [ __ ] frost." Game of Thrones. This is so sick. With Kahan's arcade ladder defeated, the real challenge begins now. 300 challenges to be in fact as they all led up to the hardest boss fight in Mortal Kombat history. Kahan with three minions before it. Goro, Kentaro, and Molina. Prove yourself to me. Who's first? Goro. All right. Indeed. This shouldn't be too hard. Oh, I tried to grab him before. He's not taking chip damage. He's not taking chip damage. All right.
at Lee, man. You're a best girl, but you're no match for King Daro. I don't care who wins this boss raid. This is a collective effort of all of us. [ __ ] destroy this guy. Oh Jesus. Oh god. Kitty man very angry. Kick me in the dick. Holy [ __ ] Got him. Wow. The ex. Did you get him? Okay. Third character. Third character. my wife. What? It's a naked version of Molina. Oh, dude. Molina. Yeah. Yeah. Do the exploit. I'm trying. I'm not I'm not a perfect at this game. I don't I can't do everything exactly like I don't back.
Always believe in yourself. With the heart of a tiger. You ended it. You ended it. Sick as [ __ ] Sick as [ __ ] I can't block. I can't block. You really blocking is disabled. The blocking was disabled. Oh my god. Stop it from getting blocked. We cannot [ __ ] get past moving. I can't do it. Oh no. This isn't working. Oh no. This is not working. Oh, he has learned. Why was he falling for this one? Kenny was fight. Wow. I think Oh [ __ ] He comboed in. I think that move. Oh, he stuck the super girl now. I we're on like hour two of this [ __ ] and we haven't even gotten to the actual last boss yet.
All right. All right. We need to start getting serious on this [ __ ] He warmed that up, too. That's the bus driver uppercut. [laughter] The bus driver uppercut. Oh, [ __ ] my life. [ __ ] that, dude. [ __ ] that. I wanted I wanted to punch him so bad. Oh no. [ __ ] 50% to see how much damage out there. No, I'm not going to get to see it. I was so [ __ ] far back. I almost tripped over the whole Sega Saturn. Uh, anyway, was this fun to watch, chat? Should I keep it going? Should I keep it going? Anyway, hi.
Hello. We're this far. Just keep it going. Jesus. So, I'll just come back. Jesus. Son of a [ __ ] Son of a [ __ ] Like, we don't even get a chance to fire. We don't even get a chance. He just goes [ __ ] ass balls and then we're dead. You piece of [ __ ] You piece of [ __ ] I swear to God. Wow. [ __ ] [ __ ] [ __ ] [laughter] Can't even [ __ ] That doesn't count. That does not count. All right. Chad is asking for Nick's highlights. Chad, I can't reream baseball. I'll get in trouble. You stay with us. We'll stay with you.
and we'll get this [ __ ] done. It's possible. Oh, remember [ __ ] that look? Oh god, he grabbed he grabbed you. You serious? He grabbed you again. Oh god, he might grab you again. [laughter] Hey, you're up. Your blocking is disabled. Your blocking is disabled. Oh, [ __ ] god damn it. I didn't see it. I want to use this son. [ __ ] yell, son. Are we going to get it? God damn. Here we Here we go. Back when gaming was pure. Take care of you myself. There he is. This big fat son of a Angry fight. There is an element to that.
You know, with perspective, there is an element to that. So many games now, they keep you in by like infinitely rewarding you with [ __ ] and like you're pretty much just logging in to get your rewards. And I'm like, nah, dude. Like, we just played [ __ ] cuz the game was great. We just played [ __ ] because the games were so much fun that you wanted to come back and do it. Yeah. I I I have never I've barely ever engaged with games that have like dailies. I just don't you know we got to saw the mountain right there.
We fell down a few feet, but it's okay. I think I can get him. I think I can get him. See [laughter] that armor bad that teleport. Holy [ __ ] Doesn't do too good against him. Wait for it. Oh, blocking disabled. Blocking disabled. Blocking disabled. Bucking [ __ ] Blocking enabled. [screaming] I remember blocking disabled meme. Okay, I'll do it again. It's fine. Fine. He's over there. There it is. And there the box on his head. Kenny, I'll get you back. You can take the box off. I belong in disable. Blocking disabled. Blockick disabled. I was like, "Okay, I'm getting this." Blocking disabled.
Okay, I'm [ __ ] man. What the [ __ ] was that? What move was that? Why' I do that? [ __ ] [ __ ] [ __ ] [ __ ] Max ain't taking it. Yeah, it's like you It's okay. I can handle a couple of hits, Max. It's okay. No, I can. I accept no less. I want my perfect I accept no [ __ ] less. I got two double perfects on this box. I accept no less at this point. Oh my god. I want to eat. By the time this was over, chat, it was 6:00 in the morning. [laughter] I want to [ __ ] die. I want to die right now.
I swear to God. Suspect. I need you and Kenny to beat Molina cuz right now we do not have a Shiaoan expert. None of us know how to beat the [ __ ] dick bag at the end. Wow. You jerk one. You played FF Online. Those are full of daily stuff. No. No, they weren't. Dude, Final Fantasy 11 Online didn't have that [ __ ] at all. Lit. You got nothing for continually jumping in and playing. Literally nothing. There were no dailies, dude. That [ __ ] is like over the last 10 years or something like that. World of Warcraft started doing [ __ ] like that.
Yeah. No, dude. You just played the game for the game. I'm so gods. I can counter that. I know. I'm going to try. I can counter that. He gives no [ __ ] We should revisit this. Yeah, he gives zero [ __ ] dude. Right now, guys, we're going to check out the invincible patch after this. Yeah, it's not about having fun. It's about [ __ ] getting the [ __ ] done so we can look at something else. Oh my god. Home run. [laughter] Home run. There we had weeklies. We had weekly pops. No, that's the thing is that we have not got Dude, some monsters in that game would not spawn for 3 days and then after or 24 hours, right?
Some monsters would spawn once every 24 hours, but it wouldn't be the monster you want. There'd be a rare pop every 24 hours, like one in 12 times. So depending, yeah, server days, and if you wanted to get the one that was actually good, you would have to just get hella lucky. And by the time there'd be like two weeks, then it was a guaranteed pop. [ __ ] without more than a quarter health. Nidhog [ __ ] Yeah. A [ __ ] He [ __ ] me up. Still disabled. Blocking was still disabled. What a goddamn [ __ ] We're letting him play again.
I was doing this the whole entire time. Blocking was still [ __ ] disabled the entire time. She is the She is the cheapest [ __ ] thing in this fight. Like that's the problem is that we can't get past her without losing 50% [ __ ] health. We We're saving all of it. That's why we wipe at the early. That's why we wipe early is just to save it for this stupid bi. He's not even here for Shan. It's for her. This is This is getting ridiculous, dude. He's He's armoring the [ __ ] out of everything. It seems like we're frustrated.
We are. We've been doing this for 8 hours now. Sorry we we're a bunch of salty old [ __ ] now. I really am. But we want to see this [ __ ] beat. It's only tiredness and rage and salt and appreciation for all you dudes that are still [ __ ] here. [ __ ] hell. [laughter] That thing was instant. It's like one frame. Jesus Christ. Just die. Jesus Christ. Down, too. No. Everyone stayed up. Yeah. We beat this at like 6:00 in the morning. Do not [ __ ] give up. [ __ ] That took up so much power cuz he's a piece. Yeah. Woolly had a cheese for it.
There is a cheese. We none of us knew the cheese. The cheese makes it trivial. Holy crap. me. We said earlier he never did like this ever slow. It was the slowest grab in human history. Feel that fire. Feel that fire. Is this the worst boss rage? No, this is not the longest. All right. If I don't If you don't get your You're fine. He He is retaining all of our fighting spirit right now. Thank you. Yes. [ __ ] see that [ __ ] dude. Come on. Still took your life. That is son of a You want to see my reveal to this MK?
Is there a video? I really didn't get into MK until MKX, but uh no, dude. Mortal Kombat 9 predates reaction videos. Like, no [ __ ] Literally predates that [ __ ] I I hate to break it to you, but outside of that reacts channel, you know, I don't know if you guys remember what it was where they'd stick like grandmas and they make grandmas watch Pokemon um and they'd get like teenagers to react to old cartoons and [ __ ] That was a a long way the fine bros [ __ ] right? But that wasn't like reactions. I'm telling you, chat, one day there was an Xbox conference at E3 and I just decided to record myself watching it and commentating on it.
And that [ __ ] was in like 2013, the the the TV one. No, no, it was it was actually before that. It was the TV TV one. And I decided to make a video on that. This is like 2012, 2013. back to the history. Dude, let's let's finish this. What I'm trying to say is I'm taking credit for it and also I'm sorry that I kind of started gaming reaction videos on YouTube. I'm taking credit for it and I'm apologizing because I I might have been one of the few people to actually start doing that because I was just looking for content.
I was like, man, let's do something. Well, be pretty funny if we just watch this and just see what happened. If there's a cool thing, there's a cool thing. It was actually me and it wasn't the mic. It wasn't the Killer Instinct one. No, no, no. It was It was actually a negative reaction from me. I I'd be very interested to go back and watch that video because it was a negative reaction and it got such crazy viewership. I was like, "Whoa, that's nuts." [ __ ] her up. Play patient. Patient. He didn't get MK during the arcade.
I mean, I like the old games, but the first one I actually learned how to play was X. You are nothing. No, you don't. No. Good [ __ ] Steve. There's no way I'm [ __ ] with that [ __ ] [ __ ] you, dude. [ __ ] you. That full screen. F7 remaster video was later, dude. was like a year and a half after [ __ ] Steve. Wait for it. Go do it. with that whole screen. [screaming] Look at it. Look at it. [ __ ] dead. [groaning and screaming] You [ __ ] did it. Look at that [ __ ] That's for you, dude. That [ __ ] is for you.
I can't. Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got. [laughter] Taking a break from all your worries would help a lot. Wouldn't you like to get away? Look at this [laughter] image, bro. So [ __ ] [singing] Audio jungle. [clears throat] Audio jungle. Damn, his [ __ ] ass is so dusty. He made a Cheers reference. That's crazy. You have to be at least 76 years old to know what Cheers is. All right, hold on a second. Where was that video? Hold on a second. Back to the stage. Yeah, this is the uh the first one.
I I'm I'm not saying I was the only one to do it, chat, but for like popularizing it uh who paste the link again. The chat went by too quick. popularizing it was definitely like wasn't many people doing this. So the the the video is called hold on Xbox One genuine reaction. This was in May. This is actually a month before Killer Instinct would be revealed. So uh yeah, this ended up doing like really well. I'm curious what this is like. This is back when videos were short, dude. videos do not need to be long.

You can choose the heads, you can choose the bodies, you can choose the helmet. That's finally here. 60 frames a second, low latency controls. A great feeling game. They said they said the beautiful phrase 60 frames per second. Team service dog. Every detail is replicated. Look at that dog. That dog is so legit. Look at that hair.
Look at Look at those wrists. Oh, it's beautiful. He's bruised. He punched so many dudes. Dirt. fingernails. Call of Duty. This video did really well, chat. Show us actual gameplay. And I was like, and to be completely honest, I fired up the subsequent Xbox event at E3 a month later in the anticipation that uh I get to make another video like this. This is going to be great. I get to make another video. You sound high. Um, I'm not on, right? Barely awake, [ __ ] Chat, you know what it's like to be on. Now you know the difference.
The difference between being on and not realizing that you need to be on. This is This is like year 1, year two of content making. So, the funniest thing is that in the next one, I was anticipating, oh, it's going to be just as bad. It's going to be just as bad. Uh, we'll make I get to make jokes and crack jokes during it. Make another video. It's going to be great. We get to make another video. And then Killer Instinct was announced. And it was like, "Holy [ __ ] Holy [ __ ] Where the video games?" [gasps] Yeah.
That video did very well for that era YouTube. That video did very well. Uh, show the KI reaction. No, exclusively on Xbox One at launch and it's now in here playable at E3. Thank you very much. Launch title. That's how you do it. Start announcing launch titles. What the Turn the volume down. in 2013. Only on JGO Glacius [screaming] Saber War. Ultra combo. Killer Instinct. We listened and Killer Instinct is back. Only on Xbox One. Now, I want to talk about another creative first party partner, one that I've personally admired and wanted to work with for a long time.
[ __ ] Here's here's what's crazy. uh is that I knew how to be on, but I only knew how to be on in my own video format. So, when I was on, my [ __ ] ass was on and I got to play quite a bit. So, um let me get started. I'm going to Sorry for the impromptu combo ki. God damn. But nowadays it could be a 360 game. But when you actually see it in person and it's running in 60 frames in front of you. Dude. And I think a lot of stuff about that game is really funny nowadays.
So didn't hit. He does. Anyway, I knew how to be on. It was just not like live. It's just that over and over again. I was not ready to be on live. Look at the half finished Snapple. Anyway, I don't want to watch this anymore. I hate my old content, bro. You guys like it. I appreciate it. I can't stand it. I can't I can't stand. Only forward, not back. Like that's the way my bra That's the way my brain works. Only forward, not back. Um, let's look up the invincible thing. Hold on a second.
I appreciate all of it, but old [ __ ] bugs me. Um, where is invincible versus Yeah, let me check that out. Cosmic invasion trailer. Saw this on Twitter. I didn't hear it though. It's clober time. Oh, that's right. The thing wasn't in this thing. Wow. Psych looks really good. Don't get up. They gave his [ __ ] ass a dive kick. Bro, can we get Cyclops and Tokon for God's sake? How incredible would that [ __ ] be? Dude, look at those. Look at that [ __ ] It's like they took a note from the show almost. Oh my god, dude. Look at that.
Eye out of sight. Look at that mobility. Oh my god, dude. That's mad cool. Slam. Go get him, honey. That's cool, dude. He looks so The reason he looks so much better with the jacket is that you can get a secondary animation on his beams, right? So when he's like shooting laser beams out of his eyes, before they couldn't do much with that. He would just hold pose and shake. Now you can literally have the jacket like flapping and flowing in the wind and [ __ ] It looks really cool. On sight. This is why Cyclops always is better with a jacket.
He's always better. It's always bummed me out that he takes off the jacket at the beginning of Marvel vs. Capcom. Anyway, yeah, I thought that was actually to be to be completely honest, I think the thing gets a little overshadowed in this trailer a bit. I was like waiting for Cyclops to show up. Maybe that's a me thing. Is this game good? It was pretty good. It was pretty good. I don't think it was as good as Ninja Turtles, but it was pretty good. Keep an eye out of sight. To me, my X-Men. The popcorn.
Slam them, J. Go get him, honey. Yeah, we should probably check this out with your video games. It's just cool to see Cyclops [music] be given another sprite, you know? It's just so sick to see him given another sprite. Is this out now? Damn, it is. We should definitely check this out with Yo Video Games over the weekend. Um, yeah, looks like NBC. Well, it's very NBC inspired. It's very old school Capcom inspired, but the old Capcom sprites from like 1994 have way more fidelity. Like if you hold them side by side, the the Capcom sprites were insane, dude.
Like they're they're so crazy high budget. They don't go for that in this. They go for like almost like Game Boy Advanced style sprites in a way. Yeah. Konami sprites show somewhat. Um Cyclops Cosmic Invasion Capcom comparison. They're very different. Uh Yeah, like this just to just in general to see the difference in size. The Capcom sprites were just bonkers, dude. It was a big difference. There's just way more frames, way higher fidelity, and that's because it was a they're going for different things. Again, it's like arcade almost like Game Boy Advance in a way.
The Capcom sprites are crazy, chat. You have to understand like it's on purpose. No, it is on purpose, but like the Capcom sprites were nuts. Like they still are nuts how high fidelity they are. Yeah, there's a big difference. anyway. Yeah, it looks good. I think it looks good. What are the chat says a Capcom character gets into Tocon? Pretty low, but if you believe, if you make a wish, if you keep wishing, uh, NBC still looks gorgeous. Uh, MSH, NBC1, and X-Men: Children of the Atom are both are all beautiful ass games still to this day.
Um, let me go to Street Fighter Twitter. There was that Ingred thing. Hold on. Why do you guys want Tifa and everything? Huh? What's wrong with you? Who started this this whole Tifa in in everything or anything? Who started this? Like, who's the one that began this [ __ ] Started this [ __ ] Trying to go back. Trying to go back. Sort by oldest. I don't think I can. I can't even sort by oldest. That's crazy. It's crazy. Can't even sort by that [ __ ] anymore. Street Fighter. What the hell is this? Monoid. Oh, I thought I'd never ever ever see you again.
The Mongolid. Monoid. Not the Mongolid. Come on. Babysit this one for a while. damn. I look I feel like I'm playing Mortal Kombat 11. Dude, remember that thing that happened when uh when uh D'Vorah would die and she would turn into a bug and then the bug would fly around and [ __ ] Oh, I thought I'd never ever ever see you again. Monoid laura for a while. There's suicide bug. Exactly. Monoid is a deep programming term. Ah, well, that's pretty crazy. And she high-fives its [ __ ] ass. Wow. All right. All right. You know what? You got to appreciate what they did to Ingrid.
They did not just stick with the same thing. They she she was she was a crazy god space alien in in name only. You did not see that represented in her character nearly in any way at all. That chick was just Athena, you know. So the full commitment to her being some weird looking human copying creature from another world type [ __ ] Possibly the most powerful Street Fighter character ever is pretty crazy. She's now she's better than Athena. Exactly. Now she's even more interesting than Athena ever was. Exactly. Exactly. Now she's like from Katamari or some [ __ ] Exactly.
I agree. Uh Invincible Stuff. Hold on a second. Yeah, I I saw this a little bit. All right. So yeah, Invincible Verse is getting changes. Big stuff be happening. I think it's right here. So, uh, the big focuses are that they're trying to get rid of assist loop infinence. I'm sorry. Um, and Tweety and anybody else that's using Conquest, I think it was, what is it? Drudy was the one that initially came up with this. Um, but yeah, the Conquest Assist Loop Infinite probably going away. Um, sudden death needs to get reworked. it. I don't think it was ever supposed to become a comeback mechanic, but it is.
And block string stuff, which makes sense. It would make sense that at least there'd be cemented block strings with um like autocombo, if not LMH or something. LMH special probably should be a block string. Let's take a look. We'll have patch notes eventually. We'll have a breakdown, etc. But we definitely wanted to get ahead of some of these focus areas based on things that we're seeing. And of course, Common Breaker is this coming weekend, so everyone is very excited to know when this patch is, right? Because we want to drop it right before the tournament, right before everyone.
Oh, that's not actually in the middle of pools, we drop it. Wow. Everyone for everybody, we are not drop like all of the tactics and meta that you've been developing, you're going to rock it at Combo Breaker. It will be released after Combo Breaker. Uh TBD will announce that, but it's going to be well before EVO. Yeah. So you'll be So after Combo Breaker. So after this weekend, but before the end of June, so probably within a month able to, you know, work on new stuff and have ample time before EVO takes place. exactly. Won't do you dirty.
Um, but we want to load up into a match and use that to kind of help guide some of the So, Tuesday, Sure. Yes. Mike and Rick, you guys can take it away. Yeah, but these were the three big focused areas, right? So, I think first up, you know, you got to look at the assist loop that we saw. Uh, and you know, shout out to Tweet. He's got like some really cool combos, but when I'm talking about assist loops, I'm really talking about stuff like the Allen Infinite. You know, he had the WA and he calls an assist and he calls the calls another pretty much the generic assist loop where the assist recovers after like uh only a few seconds, right?
Uh, so we actually didn't really have an infinite prevention system. It's his his control. You got Oh, sorry. My bad. I'm really [laughter] He's locked in. Sorry. Yeah. So basically, we've got a little system in place now that's kind of an infinite prevention system for looping assist. So yes, we still want you to be able to do the combos that you've been coming up and labing with, but there will be a limit to them now. Yeah. So we'll go into in deeper details. This is what we were assuming they were going to do anyway that like the cool down on assist was way too low.
Like every time you call an assist, it's going to start doubling the cool down time on that assist depending on the assist type too. Like sometimes it's up by it goes like 3 seconds. This game came out. He has still early access. No, it's out now. it be out every single time. Sometimes a bit more if it's like a really juicy like back assist. So when it comes out, you guys will be able to dig into it about like whether you want to use more forward assist, back assist, and structure it accordingly so that the timer doesn't scale.
As long as the combos still generally work, you can probably show that off here, right? It's a little hard. Okay. [laughter] And I don't know what's in this bill specifically. I I don't even ask you to do Tweety's combo. There's no Tweety will show it to you later. Okay. And then you'll either be happy or unhappy, but you know, it's not going to be as infinite as it was before. That's for sure. Gotcha. Okay. What's next? What's the top three things? Block strings. Oh, yeah. We heard that. You know, how do they change this? If somebody's hitting you or blocking on you, there's a lot of people just mashing supers to it or something.
I'll use the Eve super cuz I heard this one's pretty good. So now if you just want to hit like light, medium, heavy on me or something. There's a loop with Mark. That's forward special. Heavy on repeat is disgusting. That's normal. That's the normal combo fill of the whole game. If you do heavy forward special, you're doing like the worst damage you possibly can. That's the way they let the combos in this game are like killer instinct. They let you do whatever the hell you want. Um, but to get actually good damage, you have to very much manipulate the the the game.
You can't do the same thing over and over again. If you do the same thing over and over again, it actually is is ass. It's really bad damage. Max super. I maxed it wrong cuz I don't have meter. But either way, either either way. Let me hit you a couple times. I'll get my meter up. That's one way to fix it. Yeah. Yeah. Sure. See, that was that was after the fact. Like I'm mashing. Okay. Now, now do your blocking. I'll mash my super. Okay. There it is. It's like a gapless string now. Okay. So, LMH at least is uh is pure.
Mhm. So, basically, if you want to tell them more details about a mic. Oh, you know what? Dave Hall wrote me a nice little list because he knows uh Please say this. I can't remember anything. So, block strings are back for magic chains. So, you can do standing light to standing light. You can do standing light to crouching light. You can do crouching light to standing light. Go back. Go back. Hold on. Let me listen to this. Standing light to standing light. Right. Okay. So, beginning of auto combo works. You can do standing light to crouching light.
You can do crouching light to standing light. Basically, a lot of the magic chains will work. The only ones that typically won't are if you're trying to go from a crouching medium to a standing medium. There will be a gap. Oh, so the stand down M loop does not is not pure. Oh, okay. So that makes sense because stand down M is a thing that you can repeat on most characters and it's pretty hard to deal with. You're like, "God damn, get off me." You know, involved in those when you're trying to do like other high lows.
So you want to have like assist calls really early on in order to try to cover, you know, trying an unblockable setup. Exactly. So basically because our mediums allow you to go back and forth between them. Like if you just want to block with conquest really quick. I'll show it off with battle beast. So if you're just blocking I'm going to chase you down here. Like you know you don't want this to be a blocking forever, right? So that's why the medium to mediums are not going to be a block. And then there are exceptions to the rules that Mike just listed as well.
Like if you have a character like Mark, you know his crouching medium is actually a very slow one. So you don't want this jab to be this into a into a block with a crouchy slide afterward, right? So, there are going to be a couple exceptions here and there, but overall the rules are pretty straightforward. For the players who are still learning, why does it matter that you can't just match super? Uh cuz that's really powerful. It's a [laughter] It's really powerful and some would consider a bad habit. Uh if you're coming from other games.
So, we wanted to have some consistency. We want everybody playing the same language no matter, you know, where they're coming from. Uh so uh this gives people on offense a little bit more power because there's a ton of counterplay and actually a lot of strong defense. Okay. Yeah, that's that. So that's good is that the defense in the game was too powerful. So this is the the solution for them to counter uh how defensive the game is by giving you more I guess offensive tools. This would lead to easier unblockables as well, I guess. But it really depends on how much you push block would probably avoid it all that stuff.
So, we want to put a little bit more power in the uh someone who's trying to press. Yeah. Yeah. If you want to set up your offense now, it's going to be safer to do so because people won't just be matching a super armored move. Yeah. Again, dude, people were like porcupines. Like, you got close to them and you'd get stabbed. Captain basically. Well, we got about 10 seconds. I want to get I want to get him a little bit low on health. Okay. We got 10 seconds before sudden death. So, you guys you out.
Oh, yeah. Cuz sudden death is something else that people have been talking about as well. And this we can show pretty easily. Yes. I mean, we can try to Well, I think it'll look a little different than people people are used to. Yeah, sure. And again, this is still work in progress. Not final final final. This is a great point. All right. Here it goes. Oh, now you're going to kill me. I got my Eve. We're good. So, what changes now? Sudden death. They have lower health. Still there. It's still there. But Oh, everybody's still there.
My teammates didn't die. And wow. Even though you see that potential health, guess what? They can't gain that potential health back. And if you look at the deep back, what you're going to see is any of my partner characters, their boost regen does not happen. Not happening. But how about I combo your new assist breaker? Yes. Can we do that? Oh god, this is going to be terrible. Yeah. Now you've lost all my health and it's not coming back. [laughter] Where'd it go? Oh, okay. So, you still have to play it out. Like, you're dying, but you all have to play it out.
Okay, watch. I'mma snap them in. Okay, so they barely have. Yeah, you should kill my character. So, I'm going to kill your character so they can see. So, now you're [clears throat] at a severe disadvantage if you only have one character. Like, this is much better. Like, pretty much the the intention of the intention of sudden death was always cool. Again, devs never fully comprehend sometimes for complete assholeery where it's like, okay, people are going to do whatever it takes to win. And it was turned into a comeback mechanic. That's not what they wanted, dude.
That is not what they wanted. Exactly what is going to happen here. Oh, you got combos. Now, if you have three characters at the end and sudden death happens, you're likely winning. Let him let him kill you. Oh, and to be completely honest, it's weird that it wasn't like this from the beginning. I think even early on, you have to understand that like the intentions were good. And it's the same thing for most games that have mechanics that like do something interesting. The intentions are good, but how people use them, you can't account for, dude.
You can't. It seems like so obvious after people have put millions of hours into the game, but it always isn't that way, right? The only thing that I'm thinking of is if you have three characters, bro, on one side and somebody has like 20% life, you just run away, right? like their their lives are going to start coming down, but theirs is going to go down first, right? Don't you just cook it in the other direction? Why would why would you engage in any way at all if you had healthier characters? So, now it's like the complete opposite, you know?
Now it's bounced back in the other direction because now you're healthier with a sudden death situation. We'll see how this plays out. Yeah, we'll see how this plays out. Now it's like, oh, if you're losing, you're really going to lose, you know. So then game, we want the action to move even faster. There's no uh it's just quicker to end them if you have three characters at this point. Also more risky, you know? Start thinking of it from the perspective that you want to win that you like do that you want to mitigate risk in any way possible, right?
So you have to make the person that is losing play harder, So then game action. Wait, wait, wait. I got Oh, you got it. Was that a snapback? It wasn't. So then game and we want the action to move even faster. Oh, it doesn't do the return to neutral. It's like Marvel vs. Capcom. Now you're going to go in with your characters. They're going to be limitations for both sides. And we want everything to escalate. You've already gone through, you know, 100 seconds on the clock. Winner wasn't determined. Now it's time. So we want that.
We want the fairness there, but we want the risk and reward to be there. And we want things to culminate in Yeah. Because he came in with no life and he just died almost immediately. Risk and reward to be there. And we want things to culminate in uh what I like is that you don't have to hit them for them to die, right? How long does sudden death last? As however much health you have, if you look back, the health is just slowly going downwards, right? When you're not being offensive or something like that, the health just naturally goes down.
So then death. So we really want to press the I still see there being a potential issue with it, but it is it's no longer as frustrating as it was before where it became a literal comeback mechanic for one person that had one character left. Still keeping the spirit of sudden death and the intent.…
