Hosts introduce the stream, joke about the journey, staying awake, and setting up the camera and room for the show.
Maximilian Dood roasts, riffs, and nerd-snaps about Street Fighter, Bloodborne, and a torrent of new games—from Dead as a Disco’s beat-driven chaos to PC emulation hurdles.
Summary
Maximilian Dood and crew dive into a cavern of 80s-90s game nostalgia and current releases, riffing on trailers, gameplay quirks, and the industry in-jokes that define this hype-laden week. Steve and the team volley opinions on the Street Fighter live-action movie chatter, praising practical stunts and Chun-Li’s portrayal while tempering expectations about Bison, Akuma, and the broader canon. They turn to Bloodborne lore and a PC emulation deep-dive, debating loading times, net-code, and the vitality of FromSoft’s world while exploring a fan-driven Eclipse of mods that buffs the retro vibe. The crew also geeks out about Dead as a Disco, a rhythm-heavy indie with co-op dreams and user music integration, praising its 120 BPM baseline, Dojo mode, and the ability to import tracks like MJ’s tunes for a truly arcade-feel run. Between segments, they pepper in quick takes on Replace, Pragmata, and Hi-Fi Rush, joking about pizza, dogs, and random Nintendo rumors to keep the chat buzzing. It’s all hosted by Maximilian and friends, who balance genuine hype with grounded skepticism about budgets, release windows, and how these projects actually land in theaters or on consoles. Expect a stream that feels like a lively, late-night gaming circle: loose, opinionated, and lovingly chaotic.
Key Takeaways
- The Street Fighter live-action chatter praises Chun-Li’s depiction and practical wirework, while cautioning that Bison and Akuma’s portrayals could still shift with more screen time.
- Bloodborne on PC via emulation looks stunning but currently demands strong hardware (8 GB VRAM minimum for smooth runs) and patience with load times and input timing on early builds.
- Dead as a Disco emerges as a standout surprise, delivering a bold rhythm-action vibe, co-op potential, and near-infinite customization (music import, BPM tweaking, and “Dance vs. Beat” feedback loops).
- Discussions around Replace and other fresh titles highlight how indie/experimental games are reclaiming the spotlight with high-polish visuals and novel mechanics like AI-assisted asset tweaks.
- Max and crew tease the broader game-industry climate— layoffs, indie resilience, and the gap between trailer hype and final product reality.
- There's a strong sense of intergenerational gamer culture: older fans carry Street Fighter nostalgia, while younger players may latch onto retro aesthetics and rhythmic combat.
- Future-pacing includes pragmatic bets on Bloodborne remakes/remasters and the tension around big IPs getting live-action or big-budget revivals.
Who Is This For?
Essential viewing for long-time fighting-game fans, retro-hidelity enthusiasts, and indie rhythm-game lovers. It also helps developers and publishers gauge what veteran fans want versus broader audience expectations in trailers, live actions, and fan-driven mods.

We all need to shine to see how far we come on our journey. How far left to go? Searching for our star deep in the night. Praying in my heart for that special life. Show me with love. If you need to use the pad, just go on it right on the side. Got it? No, my mouth. My mouth. Yeah, you can throw the pead.
Just make sure to use it. Like, don't just go. You have to use the pead. But what about the dookie? Does it Does it hold the dookie? What about the dookie? Yeah. Yeah, cuz I got What do you mean what about a dookie? I need I need I need to drop a deuce, man. Like, it's it's building. I swear to God, if you [ __ ] in my office in my office, bubble guts, bro. I swear to God. Bubble guts. I would put it past you sons of [ __ ] Yeah. I mean, you got the rug for it.
All for the You got the rug for it. I think it needs a little more brown actually. So, I can take this. I can take Hello. Hi. Welcome to your old video game. Steve destroys the office edition. We're back. Uh bits. Uh, okay. Launch. Put this up here. And uh hello. We're back. We don't have Voice of God, do we? Are we cool? God. Hey guys. I think we're I think we're good. Uh there we go, chat. Like a [ __ ] ton of games came out, brother. like a metric ass load. You know what's wild? I feel like cursing in front of the puppy is bad.
That's fine. It's fine. I don't know, man. Bad influence influence. No, it's only a problem when when they all come out and they're all like pretty good. They're all like at least like of a certain quality every game. Yeah. And then it's like want to miss out on stuff. Crab. Hi. Uh there we go. Okay. Hold on. Hey, that's that's the worst part. So, we're going to get wide shot today. Hello, Chad. Hi. Hi. We're wide. Ah, that's Ripley's dog. Yes, that's Kiki. Kiki, you want to run around? You're good. I have not been sleeping.
Not been sleeping. I pretty much take the dog and I'm just like I'm staying awake until the family wakes up so that the dog doesn't wake everybody up and uh you know and then I sleep for like fiveish hours. We're good. I go to No, she's in the shed. All right. No shedding. No, no shedding. Oh, no. No pee. Yeah, other stuff. No peeing. No, she won't pee. She's good. Yeah, but I will. I was looking for mine. Yeah. Yeah, I was making sure the deuce, right? Yeah. Or anything else. Very nice. Hi, chat. So, another child.
Yeah, pretty much getting a puppy is like is having another kid. It's like having like a quarter of a kid and it's like jeez, dude. Uh and when they when they're so needy at the start cuz she's awake for 2 hours and mad playful. Yeah. Yeah. Out for three, sleeps for three. And then she'll just wake up at like 2:30 in the morning. Yeah. Play with me. Play with me. Play with play with me. out from like 4:00 to 7. My you old dogs used to play for like like two to three hours straight just boom boom boom boom boom and then sleep for the rest of the day and then will go on my lap and just knock out and that that would be their pillow.
Like that would be their She definitely is a dog that needs to be like close to someone. Yeah. Yeah. She She gets like really freaked out if she's not. She needs to be like close to a person. Massive separation anxiety. That happened to the dog that I was dogsitting um recently where I saw your new dog. Yes. It was like that was like a year ago. Yeah, it was a while. It was a while ago. And um he would freak out if you left him outside. You leave him out in the backyard and he would lose his mind and start scratching and tearing stuff up and separation anxiety to the max.
To the max. Does Ripley still have the lizard? Yeah. No. Sally just went through the first shed she's had in over a year. So she was pissed. Like she was shedding again. And I have videos of her like big mad. Like you want to see some weird Oh, I don't know where MY PHONE IS. GOD, THERE'S MY PHONE. SOMEBODY CALL MAX. I have to go find it. But anyway, she was doing like all this stuff where she would like I'd walk by and I look at Liz and I go, "Huh?" And she'd just be twice her size cuz she would puff up and like and then I'd be like, "Dude, are you okay?" And I'd grab her and she'd but she's trying to get her skin off of her.
So she'd be like and she'd be she'd be all black. Like her neck would be black, which means she's pissed. Jeez. So she was just irritated. Like super irritated. But most of her skin came off. She has like a little tougher on her tail. Thing is, I don't know any I don't know anything about I'm not a reptile. Lizard tech. Yeah. I don't know lizard tech. If you're if you can or can't help them, unless unless you pull it and it just comes off, right? But if you pull it and it's pulling skin, do not touch it.
It's not healthy to rip the skin off. Rip the skin off. Yeah. My my initial gut would be like cuz some people like, "Oh, like you would you help a lizard or a snake do this?" And my initial gut brain is like, "No." Yeah. Probably not. Nature did not make for that. And we not like no. Um what you do do what you do is uh lizards um need like baths. Yeah. So, what what JJ does is uh gets like a little lukewarm bath and like a slightly warm bath and the lizard just just floats.
Wow. And just chills. It doesn't do anything. She just like chills and and like a little bath and then they're done. You know, they do that like once like or twice a week and they're good. But that actually looks like Kiki. That's what it's called. The um chillest animals out there is lizards. Like they just hang around. Bearded dragons. Bearded dragon. are the children. Yeah. Our lizards a bearded dragon. They're like a floating device. Yes. One one time we had her loose on like a little leash and she got off her leash and I found her in like the uh the pool and I WAS LIKE, "AH, THE LIZARD." AND SHE WAS just floating on top and she was like a little water logged but okay.
And I was like Jesus. So she was fine. She was totally fine. Um puppy talk is good. Yeah, she's doing well. This is a rough few days. Puppy talk is the same as baby talk. Yeah, but like puppies are real cute. Yeah. Look, she's looking at me. Exactly. Puppy talk. Hey, Kiki. She want to bite the fingers. Like, what the hell? She does it. She does it. Anyway, hi chat. Uh, so like a billion games came out. Um, I want to show the guys what is on screen right now. Uh, Replace. I haven't had a chance to check it out.
It's See, it's getting like good reviews. Uh, did you guys watch Wrestlemania? No. A little bit of it. Wrestling Manian. Wrestling. Is that today or tomorrow? That was today. Wrestling Mania. No. Is it worth it? Did you meet the movie cast? Oh, yeah. I could I mean I could talk about that in like a little bit. Um, no. I didn't get to meet the whole cast. I got to meet like a couple and uh chat like on movie sets like the whole cast isn't there. Like when when you film a movie, it's like over the span of months and people are only there when they need to be.
So the real question is did you do any freestyles with 50 Cent? I didn't mean 50. Damn. Well, it's just like it's very like scheduled like right like if you're not shooting that day like the shot doesn't involve you. Yeah. You're gone. So the moments that I was there I got to meet Ken. Uh I got to meet Ryu. So it was uh Chad and um Andrew and Chase and what? Huh? Dan, right? Uh no. Andrew Koji is Ryu. Oh, Andrew Koji. Okay. Um, and I got to meet uh it's Noah. Sorry, that's said Chase.
It's Noah who plays Ken. Nice. Uh, very cool dudes. Just extremely cool dudes. And like so many cast members like knew me, which was crazy. Like like I've been watching you since you put Third Strike videos up and stuff. I'm like, "What the hell?" So, it was it was very cool. All the like FGC dudes were there, too. You know, it was just very nice of Capcom to give us an opportunity just to go check out the set. Um, that was cool. like uh you know it was like when you met Kenny Omega you met Kenny Omega and he's like dude man I've been watching you know see him since I assist me crazy that was that was literally like the one of the last E3s before they put before they completely went away.
Anyway, I'm looking forward like I was it was good to see like a final trailer for the movie like actually see scenes like put in a way that is like makes sense because you don't see anything that makes any sense. Is that the final trailer? Uh that trailer is out. No, is that the final final trailer? No. Well, I mean, a final trailer is in like, you know, a completed trailer. Gotcha. A finalized trailer. Okay. Gotcha. Gotcha. You liked it. I loved it. Yeah. Absolutely love it. You picked up on story stuff, didn't you? Absolutely.
Yeah. They actually Yeah. Yeah. They're really I need to go to the bathroom cuz she's like wanting to go down. Okay. We can put her back. We can put her in her home. Yeah. Let me do this. Take it. Let's go. Yeah. She wanted to go down. But there was one interestingly I thought how they they really shied away. They didn't want to show they didn't really want to show much of bison or or Akuma. So like they're very they're very much holding that is supposed to be mysterious. There's no which which is good. I mean yes there is a shot in in the trailer of of Akuma.
Yes, I know that. But I mean like he you don't there's no major focus on he's sitting there like singling like come on Ryu use the dark or whatever. It's like okay we don't really I thought that was Ken saying that. What saying you could do it Ryu? Oh, probably. Yeah. Yeah, I thought that was Ken saying, well, like, yeah, like they don't they don't focus on Akuma or Bison at all in the trailer. Like, they're holding them back. I'm going to say that damn near the entire casting is [ __ ] perfect. Like, I love the way Dawson looks.
I love the way Blanca looks. Uh, Blanca looked insane. Yeah. I mean, we barely got five like frames. I'm going to withhold judgment on perfect casting until I see Roman [ __ ] Reigns as Akuma. Yeah. I mean, he looked great, bro. You go back and YOU LOOK AT THE SHOTS. I'LL WITHHOLD judgment on that. You go back and you look the shots until the movie's out. YES. YOU GO BACK AND LOOK AT THE SHOTS. HE LOOKED [ __ ] AWESOME, BRO. LIKE I THINK Zang looked really good. No, he was perfect. Zang. People said like I'm going to say they didn't cast Zang.
They found him. Zang looked good. Chun Lee looked really good. Okay, I'm tell right now. Perfect casting. Chung Lee. Rayu. Zang. Um Rayu. I can't believe I said Rayu. I damn you. He looks He looks fine. He doesn't need to be gigantically bulged out. It's Ryu. [ __ ] Umu. The problem is your depiction is like he's like a Greek guy, right? I've had this conversation in his face is not Japanese. I have had this conversation with with people like other big content creators and you know and they all agree with me where where I'm like what it's like he's he feels like he's Japanese and Greek mixed like the way he's built and structured the way he's structured and built.
He feels like a Greek Greek and Japanese. And you know what's funny? Um Ken doesn't look uh um Caucasian and Asian. He just I wonder if that is anywhere in the story where he he's like has a Japanese mother. He dude like look at [ __ ] look at canon Street Fighter 6 and tell me that guy's anywhere supposed to be Japanese in 8.9. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No. Um so I want to uh touch on um El Fu. A lot of people are upset. He's a little throwaway character. And I'm trying to tell people I was like dude he's a jobber.
He's No, you get when that happened I was like that's what's his name? And I literally just blanked on his friend. I'm like, it's not Al Blaze because that's Virtual Fighter. And I'm like, hey, there is there is like a doll chick with a staff, which is decap. No, no, you don't even know that one. No, but the staff the the bison. Does he remember Faulk? Yeah. Yeah. Oh, Faulk. COULD BE FAULK. OH. OH. OH, IT COULD BE. I DIDN'T play Five M. That's That's the thing is that there are some characters in there that are like I'm not surprised if people just didn't know you.
Okay. people need to understand is that like I knew who it was, but I didn't know what his name was. I probably out of all of the Street Fighters, there have been jobber characters that are just side characters in for like 3 to 5 minutes. You're not going to get too much of them. I know they might be your favorite character, but if they're not part of the mains cast, they're not going to get too much screen time. And I've I've been a super fan of DJ characters and damn near every iteration of any live action movie of of Street Fighter DJ has been there for like 5 seconds.
Yeah, he's probably had the most screen time in like the Jonathan Band movie, right? So, it's like it's not that big of a deal. I get it. They They can't fit everybody in there. It is Street Fighter and there's a gigantic cast. You can't put everybody in there. Somebody's going to take a side seat. It's okay. Yeah, exactly. There's going to be side seats. Some characters you may even even if there's a big name behind like How much screen time do we think Jason Mimo is going to have? Have Right. Exactly. Probably isn't going to have a lot.
He's going to have a scene. I can tell you right now, D I can tell you right now, Dawson's not gonna get anything. Uh Blanca is not going to get anything. Um uh I hope Dan doesn't get too much because you know Schultz. But um you got all of these side characters. Even that announcer guy who's just Andre. Yeah. He's probably not going to be there for that long. But he he literally does play a completely throwaway Street Fighter Street Fighter. Yeah. The guy in the background that's literally screaming into a megaphone. And I bet you I bet you um 50 Cent was probably there for a week.
He probably got like some sort of flashback and he tells Ken something and he's gone. The weird. No, he he he he knocks. So I think the premise from the trailer is that Ken has effectively lost his like fighting pride. He's fighting like fat Elforte. And stuff like that. And then he actually fights somebody that is like Foria and it's 50 as Bro and he gets rocked. Yeah. Bro is a boss character. So Right. So it makes sense. And I could kind of like I don't want to speculate anything, but I'm I'm guessing the whole him fighting Alfore is when he like makes his come to power, then he uh gets defeated by Brog or somebody like that or maybe Rayu and then he starts to Well, it's the Street Fighter 2 tournament, And they they establish that like at the beginning that Ryu won the first one, Like Right.
Like he's maybe maybe it's maybe it's Ken's time to die, right? Which is what because Ryu is going through it, right? Right. Who's the canon victor of Street Fighter 2? I have no [ __ ] clue, bro. It's Street Fighter 2. Who are we if we DON'T KNOW THIS? IT WAS I I'm pretty sure it was supposed to be Dial because um at the end of it, they they kind of speculated that Akuma quote unquote killed Bison. That was like supposed to be the canon ending. Sure. But um the idea that Bison gets a reboot in the alpha series goes completely eradicates what happens after she I know because the story is nonfucking sensical.
always has been nonsensical, so it throws it away. So again, the best time Street Fighter ever like had like trying to tell a concise story within a limited period of time, if not episodes, was Assassin's Fist, Which was great. I I' I'd say Udon did a great job of telling Well, in terms of like live action, live action, you got to do this within a somewhat limited period of time. And even though that that was a show, like there was like eight episodes, it was pretty lengthy, right? So they had much longer than film length.
They had like three plus hours, I think, of like telling a movie. Uh which is a lot. You can't do that with a theatrical. And then I started realizing like, yeah, Assassin's Fist is still like the coolest story. And it's got some great moments and it like, yeah, this really But here's the problem. It's Ken and Ryu. That's it. It's Kenan Ryu and an eventual Akuma fight and a little bit of Goken. There's no Street Fighter. It's just Kenan Ryu the movie and it's a little bit of uh cameos here and there because you can't fit those characters into that story.
trying to tell a story that's difficult. And again, Street Fighter 5 tried to tell a coherent story with all the characters and it failed miserably because it didn't make sensical. It was just too many. You can't do it. So, so you have to you have to see from like, yeah, Assassin's Fist is great, but they had a lot more time to tell that and it was consolidated. It was like it was a small budget thing, right? And I think they did a really good job. Absolutely. They knocked that on the park with that. If you have to make a Street Fighter movie, like an actual new live action movie, there are expectations.
Yeah. Yeah, like people want to see like people freaked out when Blanca showed up and it was like, "Okay, yeah, this is the thing that you you have to have the Mortal Kombat 95 aspect of this or even the old Street Fighter 2 animated movie, which to be honest, I see the most similarities in this from the trailer to the old Street Fighter animated movie of characters and things like that. You need to you need to just have characters show up and do things." It's crazy because this director decided that he wanted to take the elements from the Street Fighter animated movie and some of the elements from the Street Fighter JeanClaude Vanam and kind of mush them together little bit and and it's sort of like a great blend right now.
And I here's my criticism. It's like it's not afraid of it source material. Like even Street Fighter 2 the movie back in ' 94 was was afraid of its source material. They wanted they wanted to make it about a war and about like about like WHO WANTS TO GO WITH ME? REALLY heavy leaning into shadow. It was cheesy, but like we're going to make Ken and Ryu undercover cops like drug was a a reporter [ __ ] like it was stupid. They they they tried they were okay, we can't just be Street Fighter camera. Yes, he was a cameraman.
So, here's the thing that that I'm almost down with because you saw like a lot of different situational fights and scenes and a lot of like wire work. So, like, oh, these dudes are like this isn't a bunch of CG all over the place. Like, they're actually they're actually tossed around. Stunts hardcore stunts, which is great. What in the trailer? Yes, that gave thing looked bad. That was the only thing. That was the only I was like the one part where I was like and it stood out. It stood it stands out. How do you make it look good?
Um I don't know. First of all, first of all, you know what? I'm happy it's in it. A lot of the special effects actually look pretty decent, but the Zang stuff look kind of rough. I can I can accept that. But if you go back and you look at the Legend of Chung Lee, she does a [ __ ] fireball. And guess what? The damn thing is made out of paperier-mâché. It's what like a flash animation of her going. is literally a I should pull it up for you. Yeah, it's so I shown it on stream and I'm like this is literally an animated 2D asset that is spinning spinning on a 360 access.
It's the craziest thing. So, but somebody some I wanted to see something Street Fighter. Anyway, um the idea that they actually are trying with CG and some um in some aspects looks really cool. Um I but I love the idea that not everything is going to be CG. Hell yeah, I want to see some wire work. I want to see characters do some freaking moves, you know. Uh Chung Lee, she did a spinning bird kick. Oh yeah. Guess what? She wasn't upside down in the air doing a spinning. No, she did the handstand with the freaking kids.
That makes sense. Guess what? The animated movie did the exact same thing. She was fighting Vega and they didn't want to go full cheek. She literally had hands hands right there. She was doing the stuff. That's cool. They made it more practical. They they actually showed in the trailer her doing the um the lightning kicks. Chun Lee. What I like Chun Le's depiction in the mo in Street Fighter to the animated movie. Yeah, she does practical moves and no, yeah, her weight has to be distributed in the correct way. She literally is just acrobatic as [ __ ] and can kick the [ __ ] out of you.
I I don't know if the actress actually has any martial arts training, but she's freaking perfect for Chung Lee. Like, literally. And even the moves that she's doing in there look amazing. So, I was like, she could be a lot bigger. Oh god. Well, Cammy said that in the freaking trailer. She literally says that in the trailer. Cammy looks perfect. I'm joking about Cammy looks perfect. Uh, I'm joking. The only gripes I'd probably say is is maybe Bison. Bison is is kind of not I haven't seen enough of them. You haven't seen enough of them?
We saw like one shot of them, but that was in that one and the one before. I've seen enough. I'm like, yeah, it's his casting is definitely weird. It is off. But I mean, I think that, you know, David Delasin's a pretty good. That's the crazy thing. So, the same thing happened with R. Julia. R Julia to me when he first got I was like, that's Bison. Like Ral Julia wasn't Bison. He was crazy Ral Julia. But it's Ral Julia who is arguably one of the most charming [ __ ] on planet Earth. So I don't know much about actor, but I'm hoping he fills that role of being charming enough to to like 20 like 20 going back 20 years.
I remember Max telling me long time ago that as a kid he always thought Ral Julia would play a perfect bison and the movie came out and he was bison. He was just like I think it's just because like that picture of Bison like on the versus screen and stuff it looked like Ral Julia. And I was like, "WOW." WELL, I REMEMBER just seeing cuz I I saw the movie or I saw bits of the movie and I remember thinking, "Wow, he's really like skinny and he's like he's" And then we later learned it's because he was like sick.
He was really sick during the filming of the movie before he passed. And then on a plane to my first trip to Japan back in 2019. I was on the plane. They had Adam's family. I'm like, "Oh, I never saw that movie growing up." My family's all super You recently saw Adam's family? Well, 2019. Okay. So, like cuz you know, my family's all super religious. Did you do one or two? It was one. It was part one. So, I'm watching this movie and I'm like, damn, this guy looks like M Bison. And then I'm like, oh, that's why Max said he, oh, this makes so much sense.
Cuz like when he was a lot healthier in Adams Family 1, I'm like, he doesn't look like M Bison. I'm like, YEAH, HE COULD BE. WAIT, he wasn't Bison. So, what what's what's uh uh Bison's actual ethnicity cannonwise? Is he Thai? He's from he fights in Thailand, I don't know if it ever is truly established if he's like an Asian dude or something. I thought he was. I don't know. He is he is he technically Cambodian or Thai. I thought he was Tai. He's it's probably been retconed. It's probably not. Yeah, they retcon him multiple times like Yeah, whatever.
I don't think it was ever stated, you know. I thought it was always a question mark, right? But yeah, it's like it's a similar take on like what Bison like can be, which is like a tall skinny dude. And that that is not like indicative of the original Bison. I think like I want to see more of them. I want to see like the him talk to people. That's what I And we all agreed that the best bison was CVS. Oh, CBS2 Bison. CBS2. Visually CBS2 bison lines up because it's right in between thick chunky bison and tall lumbering bison.
I call him I call him short stocky bison. He's like he gets LIKE HE'S JUST A complete rip of like doomed Megalopouloolis or something. Like one to one like a whole new sprite for him there. they could have used the Alpha 2, but they like The credit I'll give the movie is that this might be, including like Assassin's Fist for the most part. This might be pound-forpound, at least what we saw in the trailer, the most fight scenes that ever been in a Street Fighter thing. I'll be honest, dude. Like, yeah, Street Fighter 2, the animated movie, has got a pretty decent ratio of fights to yap, right?
Where it's like moving on characters, introducing, yapping, fighting. There's a pretty decent balance of that in SF2, the animated movie. However, in live action format, my dude, there is no [ __ ] fighting in Street Fighter 2 the movie. Yeah. No, the Jean in the JeanClaude. There's no [ __ ] fighting. The shooting, there's like raiding and stuff, but like several points, I didn't even notice this when me and Simmons watched it. Dude, the first three quarters of the film are fights that are about to happen and they get interrupted and I'm like, this is [ __ ] stupid. Like, and then you have to wait till the very end to actually get a legit fight scene.
And then The Legend of Chun Lee is the exact same [ __ ] Nothing really happens with the whole movie. It's a bunch of like nonsensical yapping and like plotting and and even in Street Fighter 2 Assassin's Fist with great characterization does have some fight scenes, but is a lot of character growth [ __ ] So, I don't know. It's kind of neat to see if you go back actual fighting in a Street Fighter movie. If you go back and you look at the Street Fighter V series, um there isn't that much fighting in there. There isn't that much.
Yeah. Like, and even even comparatively speaking, like there's not a lot in even the animated series either. No believe Chad, this is not Nobody wants to animate a fight scene. Too difficult is that they just end up becoming too [ __ ] expensive and [ __ ] This might have pound-for-pound the most street fighting of anything we've ever seen from Street Fighter. This is why I respect people like Monty M because that that whole um series of him just doing everything but choreography of fight scenes in animation in 3D. You know how much [ __ ] work that must have TO DO?
LIKE WHAT THE [ __ ] BUT I WILL say this movie is not for the people who play Street Fighter 6. This movie is for us. This movie is an movie. It is a [ __ ] movie. It's an MOVIE, DUDE. STRAIGHT UP. ALL THESE [ __ ] references has nothing to do with Everybody that I've seen that is of UNK status, like over the age of 35, is having a great time [ __ ] time. Everybody else is like, I don't know. It's just so cheesy and it seems like it's I'm like everybody that is older. Like we [ __ ] recognize this stuff.
like this is [ __ ] acting or just some of like the the lighting or whatever trailers, but there is a part of me for that does worry the movie might be a little trashy. Uh yeah, might be the Eric Andre Andrew Schultz thing. Maybe it's just sort of like maybe it's just the the way the trailer especially that first one from TGA was cut. Where was just kind like this feels like almost kind of like a trashy almost like a shark NATO but with a budget. Oh, like it's like like it's like it like it is a snakes on a plane situation.
Yeah. Like I have a I have a deep worry about that. So you're saying like one step away from like a Hot Shots movie? Almost. Yeah. Yeah. Where was I? But that's like true like ultra parody. This is like where it's super high. I don't think that it's stupid. I'm not Yeah. I seriously doubt they're going to go full, you know, naked gun version. Yeah. I I don't I don't want that either. I don't think it's going to be par. does have a like there is a part of me element here is my like is this this I hope this isn't as trashy as it sometimes looks and that's the thing is like I I I all I want is to give a [ __ ] like I want whatever final battle it's going to be when like Ryu and Ken team up and fight Bison or whatever like happens in the end I want to give a [ __ ] if they care if they introduce a dark there there's going to be a lot of storytelling they are because they're not just going to be like oh dark here it is like no they're going to build up to it I I was thinking about it and I'm like this is pretty much the SF2 animated movie story.
Where it's like Ryu is like doing his thing completely alone. We We don't know if Bison is hunting them though. Yes. Exactly. That's not there. But it's like Ryu and Ken are estranged. And they don't technically meet up until like the very end of the movie or something like that. I wouldn't be surprised if maybe that's something like it's going to be in the middle. I think they're not they're not bros. It might be like they meet in the middle. They have a fight and then they they split up. I mean they come back together.
It was literally in the trailer. He meets him and he's fighting him. Yeah. Ruy is beating the [ __ ] out of him. Yeah. And it's uh um kind of cool to see that they are establishing that relationship between the characters because again they're not necessarily best friends. They are rivals. Like that's the point is that they they enjoy the competition between each other. My favorite part of the trailer is when like like Ken's super pissed at Ryu for some reason and they screams at his ass and jumps all reckless like these characters are in this is Yep.
Yeah. This is how this is how they are. So I like that. that I thought it was like, "Yeah, if we have scenes like this, this will be really good." I'm very curious on where they want to go with Chung Lee cuz apparently she's introducing characters into the tournament like she's um you know uh she's working for Bison. Like she's working for Bison and then I start it clicked in my head. Oh, instead of being a news reporter, she's probably just working for Bison pretending to be one of the dolls so that she can infiltrate him and get close to him so she can, you know, be as a weird thing about like where are they going with that, you know, that they're adapting.
So you have to there's only there's only there's you have to decide when you're making a Street Fighter 2 movie. Is it is it about Shadowoo or in So it's a Guile Chun Lee flick, right? Exactly. Or is it or is it about Akuma in the dark which is au flick? I can ask why Akuma being there is weird because it's like where's eventually leading to I can promise you right now G is a [ __ ] jobber in this movie 100%. Yeah, it looks like seem like he looks like a character is almost there for the funsies.
Yes, exactly. Yeah, I don't I don't think we're ever going to be looking at Guile with that hair expecting like serious serious him talking over Chunley's corpse in the hospital. Like I could have done it for you kid like in the movie. Like I don't think we see that ever happen. I think Street Fighter 2 the animated movie really tried to split the difference by just Okay, we ignore Darko. We don't have Akuma. Yeah, he's in the background. I get it. No, no. So they do have Dark Kado, but it's flipped. It's [ __ ] dark, right?
So like the anime movie tried to kind of like split it where it's like rather than have a a Kenan Ryu versus akuma movie or or a Guile Chunley versus Bison movie, they kind of tried to like split the difference and have it kind of have it both ways a little bit. Well, let's let's if you think about Street Fighter broadly, what's the most interesting aspect of Street Fighter? The [ __ ] Ryu dealing with the dark dealing with the fact that yes, story-wise that that Ryu is being is has to hold himself back from effectively becoming the next Kuma, right?
And Goken is like the master that is preventing that from like preventing his disciples teaching but preventing his disciples from effectively becoming demons of like space and like magic. Pluto Nash. Oh yeah. Pluto Nash. Just like Pluto Nash. When when you actually decide on on how uh Chuckley paces herself, she's she's meeting the dolls. She's fighting Vega. By the way, Vega's get his ass kicked all over the [ __ ] He didn't get a single hit in. The only time you see a reference of him is a scar on Guile's face. All a sudden he got ONE HIT IN.
HE GOT ONE HIT IN AFTER THAT. He's getting his ass. He's getting [ __ ] up. I don't give a They should just get his ass. I'm like, what is going on in the out movie? He's a threat. I love that. Like, okay, he's one of the like he's [ __ ] crazy. Like, oh, when when you know he's there, you're dead. Like that's like the consensus of how the internet is been a job [ __ ] has been but he's getting his ass [ __ ] banged UP LIKE OKAY WHATEVER. I MEAN IF he's a jobber he's a jobber whatever but um uh uh the the idea that if they're going to introduce a dark and no sagot seems a little off like the the actual guy he's not there he's not he's not in the trailers he's not in the trailers he's not in the um he's not casted well I don't know unless I don't know unless he's secretly in there or something like that.
Um I I I think that um Akuma's aspect might throw things off just because of the simple fact that he's so overpowered as a character. What is the the meaning of him going to be in [ __ ] Who's the who's the final guy of the Street Fighter 1 tournament? It's a guy. It's a guy. Yeah. So it already happened. Yeah. Right. We're in Street Fighter 2 that we're on Street Fighter 2. That's true. So they're probably going to talk about it or something and Valerog are supposed to be the the the generals for Bison. I don't know if that's even happening in this movie.
no. No. Brock doesn't look like he's working for anyone. I was going to say there doesn't look like that. Yeah. Sagot is the final bad guy of the Street Fighter 1. So, I mean that but that's like that's not in the movie. That is literally Street Fighter. Right. Right. Right. So, I don't know if they're going to use Yeah. Yeah. They don't have to use that. Um, I think that the the idea that Bison already has his dolls. He doesn't need any other assassins outside of Vega. So, he's fine. But, this is also weird because it's Killer B Cammy.
Yeah. in Street Fighter. She's the evil bomb. Yeah, she's the evil, right? So, but like Red and she started in Super Joe's here. She was she was Red Delta and she's also Harley Quinn. Yeah. Which I was like I saw that I'm like what the hell is this? I wonder how far they're going to dive into the the the dolls uh scenario because again, no, not at all. Right. I don't know. I mean, the most uncomfortable aspect of the Street Fighter story is definitely not going to be a highlight. I mean, it was LITERALLY BASED OFF OF GADDAFI.
YEAH. Like that was the point. I was going to say I miss sub bosses. I miss like you, you know, like fighting games don't have sub bosses anymore. Characters that are supposed to be like big powerful antagonist like random antagonist. Street Fighter and all them all the games just kind of stopped it like the uh Canaro and [ __ ] Yeah. Canaro a sub boss took. Yeaharo. Yeah. had had Shen Tsung uh Canaro and then Goro was the if you really think about it JP JP is the sub boss. Yeah, he's not really Yeah, he definitely is.
Treated like it because it doesn't have a traditional arcade. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. I don't know. And who is that? Yeah, it's weird that I'm like it's it's just weird. One, it's weird that it's Killer B Cammy in Street Fighter 2. Yeah. And two, it she doesn't look like she's acting like Cammy like either because Killer B Cammy is basically like brain dead. And then this one has an attitude. Yeah. And then then Delta Red Delta or Delta Force, whatever she's called. Uh Super Street Fighter Delta Red. Uh thank you. Uh she's definitely not whatever's going on in that trailer.
She's sassy now. Yeah. Yeah. It seems like they switched it around. That's fine. I think that's fine. I I think that could work because then you could just bring in um what was her alter ego? the the the Cammy version with the mask on and the scar. The copyright. Yeah. Did you just bring her in? She doesn't even She has literally no I wouldn't say I wouldn't like that very much just because I'm like, "Okay, well, did you just look at the character and go, "Oh, she's she's like blonde with with uh pigtails. Let's make her like Harley Quinn." Was that the is that how the writing process?
That seems like the most like Hollywood of anything we've seen. Cammy being turned into a Harley Quinn. We don't know yet. We've only seen the trailers. The same thing with It could It could literally change in the first exact. The same thing with Alfote. We don't even know if that's Al. That could be his brother or his uncle or some [ __ ] like that. We don't know if that's a jobber fight, dude. If we don't actually know, [ __ ] if you had a random jobber fight that Ken just has to beat the [ __ ] up, Elfore is the best [ __ ] character for Absolutely.
Uh, no. I disagree. Rufus. Everyone. No. No. Rufus is a big guy. People would love it if is a short fat dude and he was he was short already. They would love to see Rufus get the [ __ ] kicked out of him cuz people hate Roffus. I know, but I think he's a little too like they want somebody that's just cannon fodder. Yes. And that is literally fod Rufus and are big. Ken has to look up to them, right? But he's also not fat in the game That's what I'm saying. They took the short goofiest character in Street Fighter ever.
Like literally the goofiest. I'm surprised it wasn't Hakan. But he's big. He's big. He's big. He's big. He's intimidating. THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYING IS that we don't even know. Like he could have the mask. It could be somebody that's related to him. I don't think it's that deep. And then he could come back and be like, right? Like it could be anything. We don't know what the context of the trailer. Yes. We don't know. We just saying that But I think it is El character like I didn't even I didn't remember his name. I was like it's Els.
No, not the other one. Whatever. The character that like came and went. It could it could have been uh what is that? Necro or whatever the [ __ ] his name is. Nali, [ __ ] it. Who cares? I'm going to be looking in the background cuz I I bet you Q's going to be in the background somewhere. You know, you know who I would have made? You know who should be the genre that gets knocked the f out right away. Ed. [ __ ] Ed. Oh, I hate Ed. [ __ ] Ed. But he's popular now. That's the problem is that he's a he's a popular top five and six.
He's top five. He's top five and he's very he's highly played. I know. Which is why I want him which is why you want to see it happen. But it makes sense why it wouldn't happen because the movie would have been pre-production before Street for sure. I just I hate it. This movie would have had Luke 100% if it was made a year before. It would have had Luke. He would have been in it somewhere. Even the next one I I guarantee there's going to be Luke and then there's going to be um uh Footgirl.
Will it be the new Combat Kids? Yeah. Yeah. Well, yeah, for sure. Jury's going to come. No, no, no. Luke uh um what are they? Luke and Jamie. Luke, Jamie, and and Kimberly. Luke, Jamie, Kimberly. They're supposed to be They said it. I have not seen any reference of Street Fighter 6 in this at all. But I've not seen any This is Hella 90. We're talking like beyond 90s. This one's hella 90. The next one's going to like beyond. You're talking about Street Fighter 2. You're talking about sequels. To be honest, I actually appreciate that the most that the movie's retro.
Ken saying he's like, "What's up MTV?" And MTV and he's got he's got the shades and he's like, "Yeah, I like the fact that it's retro. So [ __ ] awesome, bro. He's like, "Hey, you used to be Oh, I think being a period piece is the greatest [ __ ] thing." I was like, "Oh, thank God." I go, man, don't don't like apocalyptic period piece. Like Bison is like in some crazy future city. I love it, dude. Like they actually know their audience. I think they're respecting the audience and they're hokey enough to actually have fun with it because you don't take [ __ ] Street Fighter serious.
You don't. You can't. You can't. You legit can't because the fact that you get Legend of Sh the source material never took it serious. What what I what I dig about Assassin's Fist is that it it it actually wasn't afraid that it was Street Fighter. Thank god. So it's like cool, but it really it really digs into the Ryu and Ken alpha narrative, which is pretty dang interesting and it fleshes that out a lot. The problem is it's not good for theatrical, right? It's it's good for like slows down. It's very slow. It's very slow.
I love it because like the characterization's [ __ ] great. And you know who did that as well? The um the Street Fighter animated uh um movies. Not the the original animated movie, but the two others that came out. Alpha. There was the alpha one and two alphas. Yes, there were two alphas. The second alpha one sucks. Was very slow. It was all about young. No, it was about it was about and it was like recruit. You had a sister and all. I was like, what the [ __ ] is going to make it super dark and edgy? It was it they tried too hard.
They try too hard. Again, have fun with it, but I stay true to the source material. You can do that. I think the best story that has ever been told about Street Fighter has been the Udon comics. If you follow the the Udon comics, they they still have a little bit of fun, but they actually follow a lot of time to work with really well. So, have you seen all of the USA Street Fighter? It's kind of fire. Oh, no. I haven't seen it. He's lying. He's lying. You're lying. I did commentary for that. I literally You buy that DVD.
Me and Matt Mcus commentary. We we literally are on like commentary track by Matt McMusels and Max Million on the back of the box. That is hilarious. I did it years ago cuz Matt asked me. Cuz he he was a big part of it like resurrecting. So he's like, "Max, I want to show you an episode and you just commentated with me like blind. I'm like, "Let's go." It's funny. Did anybody buy that? Did anybody buy that? Anyway, I I I have high hopes and I hate doing that because I bought it. Um it's better to to to not have any uh expectations.
Yes, it's better. So, I'm at I'm at the point where it's like Hail Mary is a high ask, but that was like such a [ __ ] epitome theater experience. A genuinely amazing movie coming back to theaters, by the way. Hail Mary was like, "Fuck you, Mario. We're now taking the spots back." Mario's dropped off hard. So, Hail Mary came back, you know? Me and my wife, we saw Mario like opening day like early before the too many kids were out of school. And I mean she she liked it a lot. I was like eh, you know, on it.
But um I was like walking out I'm like this is not going to have the replayability. I don't think so. I'm like I was walking out and I'm like cuz you said that about Avatar 3 as we were leaving it. You're like this is going to be the problem of the movie. It doesn't have the I got to go see it again again and again. People are going to watch it once and done. And they did. That's exactly what happened. That's exactly what happened. That's why it didn't make as much money. That's why it doesn't make it anymore.
Yeah. And I'm thinking like Galaxy is going to have the same issue. Like I don't think I don't think it's going to have people like like that one thing going I watch the movie every day for like you know a month from watching 10 or 12 times in the theater. Like the the Mortal Kombat trailer, the Street Fighter trailer, I'm like that gets me pumped, you know? Like I'm I'm [ __ ] excited. I have to say the the Street Fighter trailer, the trailer itself in terms of trailer making is like a nine. It's a good [ __ ] trailer, dude.
And they could be presenting the movie in a better light than it actually is. But that's the whole point of trailers. It's a good [ __ ] trailer. So, and even some of like the MK trailers, like I have to see I have to see another one again. They don't get me like pumped. Like I need to be [ __ ] It needs to use the music or the theme and I don't remember it. Was it in the second one? Kenny, did you see the trailers for the Mortal Kombat 2 movie? I think one of the trailers like No.
No. One of the trailers because they made they made the new music. They made a new version of the song. Yes, they did. They did. They did. In one of the trailers, they actually have the MK music. Yeah. Yeah. And it's I I I was pumped. I loved I love seeing the characters. I mean, I love the fact that they decided to focus on Johnny and build around that like M MK trailers look like it very much looks like we heard what you said. Yes. And they're fixing it and it's great. Go all in on just being MK Mortal Kombat.
You because they've already done their job which is introduce a new audience to Mortal Kombat. That was the whole point of Cole Tiger was that he was supposed to introduce a new he was the audience. That's the point of the character. So now that's been established, bring in the actual characters that are Mortal Kombat and then make the story around that. So that's fine. I I feel kind of bad and I said this to my chat. I feel kind of bad because the whole point of Cole Tiger was that he was there to to to be the guy to protect his family.
The emotional core of the movie, right? He's there because he's supposed to survive because he has to protect his family. You know what I mean? And in this one, he's [ __ ] Like, you already know. You see him in the background of the [ __ ] posters and [ __ ] like that. Oh, yeah. Well, because the main character is similar to like the old MK movie where Johnny Cage is closer to the limelight, right? And I But you understand that he's going to get he's going to get wrecked like he's dead, right? And we don't care. But the family, DON'T YOU FORGET THE FAMILY.
LIKE HE HAS TO PROTECT THE FAMILY. I DON'T GIVE A [ __ ] NO, THE PROBLEM IS it's fictional and they never got YOU TO CARE. FAMILY WAS THE ENTIRE PLOT ARMOR WAS BECAUSE OF HIS DAUGHTER. HE HAD THE SHE had the ring and she was like, "Oh yeah, this is it. Stop reciting the [ __ ] that sucks. You're not making me like What is he talking about? YOU DON'T REMEMBER HIM?" He He literally got his His Chee ability was plot armor. Yes, it was plot armor. That was I just remember I remember he became cuz he was that was our fiction that we thought would have been cool that his like blood lineage could have been connected and scorpion like occupies the body.
Yes. Yes. That was No, no, no. They don't do anything cool like that. He just [ __ ] off. He was just fighting in like, I don't know, a factory or a freak. Yes, he just [ __ ] off while Scorpion and Subzero mostly fight in the end. Yep. It was like we we immediately came up with a significantly cooler idea that like Scorpion is a blood lineage that carries out and he could have been a distant relative of the Scorpion blood lineage and then [ __ ] get over here type of [ __ ] It would have been cool if get it cool.
It would have been cool if if literally um Subzero killed him and then he turns INTO [ __ ] SCORPION. EXACTLY. WHERE IT'S like that's that's been done a ton of times before, but it would have been neat if like he's threatened. His mort mortality is threatened. Scorpion shows up. That would have been [ __ ] cool. There was a really bad looking CG Goro in someone's backyard when they're trying to get into a truck. Yes. That was Cole's big fight scene. That's what he That's who's protecting his family. Yes. That's when he gets the finds his kami dogu or some [ __ ] And the what was it like like the the strings of chim cha.
Yeah. The strings of the the pendant literally starts wrapping around his arm and his whole body and becomes gold and it's like this arm. I don't know how that came to this conclusion. I WAS LIKE WHAT IS HAPPENING? IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. LONG story short is that if we're talking what is actually the best fighting game movie ever made? Street Fighter F. The movie Street Fighter 2 the animated movie is god tier. But then you said the live action that's different. I just watched the reptile fight scene again on Twitter cuz I retweeted. Bro, I honestly think I love the I love thrown in thrown in legs.
Like there's not enough fights in this movie. All right. I think that [ __ ] went hard. I think I still give it to like MK95. Like that movie I There's no parts of the movie I don't like. Like the whole [ __ ] movie is good. Like it moves it doesn't linger. It doesn't do stupid [ __ ] for too long. It just moves forward and cool things happen and you understand where we're going. why we're doing it. Like and the actor for Shang Tsung was the perfect Shang Tsung. And the dude that's Liu Kang is literally Liu Kang. Like that is literally Liu Kang.
Exact they both kill those. It's peak. Like it's perfect. Like Sonia's perfectly cast. Johnny Cage is perfectly cast. And the way they treat the ninjas is awesome. A little off as Highlander as Raiden. A little bit. A little bit. But whatever. You don't care. But it was interesting because he's he's hamming it up. He's chewing the scenery. He's having a good time. And Raiden never had a character before. We're having a good time. So that got him cuz I like there's very little with the the MK movie that I have issue with like it is the perfect amount of cheese to coolness like ratio and like also gives you give a [ __ ] You want you want Liu Kang to win anymore.
And you know what's crazy? That is the exact opposite of the story line of MK1. It's like the characters are so bland and boring. You never gave a [ __ ] about a [ __ ] about them. It was just what is like why am I interested? So I just love the [ __ ] choreography in the MK movie. It's so gritty as [ __ ] people just throw your ass on the dusty ground. It's an actual fighting game. Mortal Kombat should be it should be a martial arts. It is a Mortal I mean sorry it is a fighting game movie and that's the neat thing is that it actually focuses on like a lot of martial arts because that's what at the time MK2 that's what MK was.
MK was still martial artsish with some some fantastical [ __ ] Wasn't this around the time that they started doing the martial arts WWF [ __ ] The W. So that was around the time that they really wanted kids to get into martial arts. There was a Saturday morning, not cartoon, Saturday morning show that was trying to be like WAC Masters. WAC Masters, bro. That was literally a variation of the WWE, but it was just martial arts. And they really went in on that. And that kind of movie was picking up on I don't know if it was before or after.
Uh like right around the time. It was definitely a pusher cuz everyone wanted to be in taekwond do or karate. Yes. Yes. Yes. Uh and then what's what's the equivalent of like when you lean too much into the fantastical and it it doesn't make any [ __ ] sense. It's MK annihilation where it's just like Annihilation the movie. The movie. Oh, no. You're right. I'm sorry. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It leans too much into the fantastical MK3ness of it and it just it's you're so disconnected. like, "Hey, let's go in this mountain right here and we're going to take this Velisphere and we're going to go to this The guy turns into a big CG dragon and the dragon was hilarious." That was that was the greatest thing.
That was the greatest [ __ ] CG I've ever seen. It was beautiful. It was beautiful. Um, and the fight scenes were kind of incoherent, too. Like, it really didn't make sense. The music's the best part of the movie. I still got the soundtrack. Anyway, we're we want to see it. I mean, I I have high hopes. They they were very The only thing I can say from like behind the scenes stuff of me just visiting the set and saying hi to people and stuff for a little bit is that they were very receptive. They were like, "What do you think of this?
What do you think of this?" Like, "Oh, you guys are like the the Turbo Street Fighter guys, right? So, what do you think of this? What do you think of this?" Like they would be we would we would give them some and I and I'll say from my perspective, it wasn't like, "Oh, this is all just great." No, no, no. Like I would be like, "Okay, so this is probably going to piss people off because of this. This works really this is awesome. but this is not in the way that maybe like you know that kind of stuff.
So they were very receptive to that and focus in those moments they were they were they were they were willing to receive criticism. It literally was it was yikes adjusted for all everybody there was over 40 literally the focus group. They're just like, "Yeah, okay." They were all over 40. They were older than most of the crew. That's why that's why I'm saying that that I I I don't think a lot of Street Fighter 6 new heads, Jenzers are going to feel attachment to this. It is not for you. Honestly, not for you. So, get the [ __ ] out of here.
Dangerous thing. But I think that's a dangerous thing. But you know what it's for? You're not wrong. It's for the dads to to buy tickets for their kids. Yes. Sure. And then they all go together and they show them the good and then it isn't just it isn't just a kid buying a ticket with their parents now. It's the whole family coming Yeah. I like it. I like it. I think that's I think it's fair. The thing is it can still be appealing to the youth. I'm tired of thinking youths. The youths. What is the youth youth?
You know the What is the youth? No. I think I think it can be appealing to the youths. Yeah. It's a '9s movie. Whatever. But that's like, you know, that's like us watching a film about the the 70s or maybe 60s in your guys's case, whatever. You know, it's like us watching a period piece from before when we were born, right? Sure. Sure. Sure. So, DAMN ME. WE CAN WATCH WE CAN WATCH movies that take place in the 70s, '60s, '50s, and also retro [ __ ] is cool to kids. Like, Stranger Things resonated hard with a younger demographic because the 80s the 80s and the '90s seem like a much cooler time than where we're currently at.
[ __ ] creators weren't even alive in the 80s. It was it's all it's all a magical mystical thing to them. Like Sean Austin talked about it when he was in the show and they they would be like, "Hey, did you remember this thing or we want to put this thing?" And he said, "I'd bring something from home that was from the 80s and they'd be they'd be treating it like a museum piece." They were so amazed by it. And he was like, "Well, yeah, I just kind of lived through it." Yes. And and here here's the funny thing.
We also went through this [ __ ] We kind of forget. Um, [ __ ] we went through a resurgence of the 50s. The diners and [ __ ] started popping up in the 80s after Back to the Future and stuff like that. So, it was all about like we we enjoyed things that were like roller rings and skates that that happened in um drive-through theaters. Yes, I remember like all this [ __ ] like came back in a way that wasn't really around in the ' 60s and ' 70s as much. And all like the 50s [ __ ] when we were young was the was the popping 30 years later.
I remember you know the the diner sound like Johnny Rockets basically was born out of that. Because of it. Yes. Yeah. because of born out of it like diner and out and now it's not really there anymore in a way. Yeah, in a way it has a diner. It has an old school diner fashion that didn't really ever go away. I remember somebody made a documentary or like a a collage of the of of why all of the fast food joints changed their style. You remember [ __ ] like um Burger King and McDonald's? They had the the the giant resale and the uh the the the entire like it was like a red and and and um black um aesthetic that was like a it looked like a a dome on top of a [ __ ] Yeah.
stuff like that. All that's gone now. It's just a big uh square block for resale. It's all for resale. Yeah. The reason is it sucks and Simmons is right. Um you cannot resell something that looked like a wiener snitle. No. No. Here you go. You can't turn that into a bank. Yeah. Yeah. No. No. Try to resell an IHOP back in the day. Who the [ __ ] is gonna buy that weird [ __ ] thing with everything? Everything turns into a generic box. Like you you know your [ __ ] your IHOP closes. Oh. Uh you know and now something else.
Oh well that was a [ __ ] failed IHOP. Not to get too far off of of of track here, but um I saw something that explained why McDonald's is constantly making profit. Um they don't they only buy the facility which is the building itself and um oh yeah it's franchise the land property and the land and the property and that's it and then they they they say okay well you buy the staff and then you buy all the food and stuff like that. We'll supply all the stuff like that. You buy all that stuff and then you just run it and if you make money we make a profit but if you fail we just sell the property to something else because it looks like everything else.
So they they always make money. So they'll always make a profit no matter what. speaking of franchise fast food places that I went to again and that goddamn Carl's I don't get it like what was it was it a famous star it was it was another famous star I need to go get the the barbecue chicken sandwich to truly see but the problem is the appeal of Five Guys now the appeal of Carl's back in the day was that it was like damn this fast food is really really good and it also is cheap Now it's I found one that is really good.
It isn't, but it's it costs money, dude. It's not cheap. They're advertising hard like, "Hey, hey, we we're selling this cheap. We're selling this cheap." Like they have like a new burger they're trying to like advertise. It's only It's only $6. And like that used to be the $6 burger, which is now $10. $6 burger for only $2.99 now. Now6. Okay. Thanks. You know, thanks Obama. So, man, we're going to see Michael Jackson, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter. dude, every all this 80s 90s [ __ ] Yeah, right. Like, what the [ __ ] Um, Mortal Kombat is in like a couple weeks.
Literally MJ's like next Friday. Yeah. Jesus Christ. Things are out. I got my tickets. Street Fighter is later in the year. Street Fighter is like the end of the year. Yeah. End of October. I thought it was November. I think the trailer said October. October. October. Anyway, man, I don't know about I'm watching He-Man. Oh, by the way, I ordered the the big fat tacos from Del Taco. Yeah, they [ __ ] suck, bro. It's all bread. It's all bread, right? I like them because they taste like Epic Burrito. Well, like Yeah. If the Epic Burrito is good cuz there's a lot of insides, but it's like here's the inside of a normal taco with a bunch of bread.
It's not even a taco. It's like a pita bread. It is LIKE A WHOLE [ __ ] PITA BREAD. IT'S LIKE a I I had every like it's like a it's like they put a taco in pita bread. This big FAT [ __ ] SUCKS. I JUST LIKE IT cuz it tastes like the uh epic burrito and it's not as much. Dude, and there was an option to add more meat. And I'm like, this is how they [ __ ] get you, dude. Where it's like the the insides of it. I'm like, just give me a normal tortilla because I'm just eating a taco with a bunch of Fills you up.
It does. Fills you up with bread. It fills you up with bread. That's why you just go for the the yield del Taco. You just get grilled chicken tacos. That's [ __ ] Kenny. Because the normal tacos are cost half as much. You know what's better? The plate of beans. Beans and rice. It's a $1.50. Yeah, that is awesome. Cost effective. That's what I get. I just get the beans and cheese. $150. I get two of them. Three bucks, guys. I fill up. I got to take a doogie. damn. This too. Leave Leave the door open. Okay, got you, bro.
Bring the mic. No, not even bean and cheese and tacos. It's just a cup of reffried beans and cheese. Plush is just good. It is. Refried beans are just good. Yeah, it was fantastic, dude. I I just get two of them. Happy. All right. I wanted to God, I thought about just as we went live and I'm like, there's a demo, a very short demo for what? For a PC game that I really kind of wanted to see all three of you play cuz you all played Hi-Fi Rush, Of course. Oh, is this Disco? Have you seen it?
I Yeah, we should definitely download it. Have you seen Dead as Disco? I saw clips of it. I was like, "What the My god." NO, I PLAYED I PLAYED an early demo. They updated the demo. And I got to be real with you, this probably has some of the the best like on the new demo. the rim lighting like the crazy like uh uh because watching you know you explain how everything has to be done you know for um for freaking uh for freaking NBCI beyond and I'm like and and now I feel like I having a understanding of it and seeing what they're doing in in the more updated demo and I'm like whoa this is really impressive.
I have not seen like I saw Brunie post some [ __ ] on it was like wow this looks [ __ ] crazy dude I mean it's going to it's going to it's a brawler punch it's a it's a fight brawler to music possibly going to DMC the [ __ ] out of you there is a streamer mode on it but oh man you soak it I almost don't want you to do it cuz like the way that just just the the the the short short demo here's the other thing about that demo there's a there's a dojo mode in the demo they let you put your own music to it oh [ __ ] you I'm dead serious Serious.
So, I already played it with KI music. Really? Yeah. And they even there's they even have So, it just finds the beats and just makes the song out of it. Yeah. But you can also change you can also customize the crap out of it. They even have an advanced thing to like if you really want to go in, you know, to do like advanced BPM stuff. I think we can do that. Dude, it's it's wild. I'm like I was wild. I played it earlier this week. The updated demo. I'm like, "Oh, this is so cool.
This is like super cool." End up playing hours. I just went back to it. I have to try it. Yeah. Now, now you got me mad curious. Thank you for there's like there's all these things that are happening right now and I'm like I'm forgetting something and that was one that was on my radar where it's like yeah we should play this with the video games. You know what since we're just like touching everything tonight. I also have the demo for Dino Blade which is done by an ex um uh it's an ex Ratchet and Clank animator.
Oh, Insomniac Guy. Insomniac Guy and it's literally about a dinosaur with a sword in his mouth. Oh, I've seen this. Spinosaur. Yeah, it's like a spinosaur sword in his mouth. like and there there's a lot of [ __ ] we should just fire up and try because we've just been backed up on new games and we're just not going to be able to try these things. So anyway, seems like a good opportunity for us to mess around with that [ __ ] Dino Blade is hilarious. Good. That's good. You know what? I'm down to try Dead as a Disco first.
Yeah, they they need to see it though. I mean I Oh, they should. They need to see it and they need to hear it. Well, they appreciate it. I I think I I honestly do We're going to get Kenny and see they're going to make fun of it. Oh, I mean No, no, no. I'm pretty sure they're going to be [ __ ] I I I I I know I know the attention span sometimes, you know, but ah they got to see this. Do I have to take away their phones? Maybe. Probably not. Maybe. Um damn. Why did I see a clip of like an MJ skin doing MJ moves?
I mean, there's there's a whole No, not mods. There's a whole uh character creator thing in the full game. Oh, wow. Where you're going to be able to create customize the hell out of your character. I saw somebody like moonwalking and [ __ ] Yeah. I was like, "What the fuck?" And there's like Yeah. There's like dance moves you unlock and stuff or like dance finishers. Cool. Stuff like that. But like what's hard about the game is cuz Okay, here's my one problem with the game. I'm extremely white and the more on beat you are with stuff, the the more in like cool the moves you pull off and counter stuff.
Oh, so you're telling me it's like uh that that's that's like bust a groove. Yeah. A little bit where it's like Yeah. When you're really on the timing, it rewards you. Yeah. So it's like okay if you get like a perfect beat counter going to it and like say like you know you're doing it because there's counters or whatever you'll you'll do more insane stuff the more uh your perfect combo is you know going you know cuz it's like it's on it's all BPM based and beat and you can you literally have the option to put the uh hi-fi rush beat thing on the bottom of the screen if you want really okay so you have a more visual indicator you could have a visual indicator down there to see where where the BPM is hitting on um or you can just go by this sound.
And when you're hitting the the punch connecting effect, the sound effect is different on a perfect. Oh, good. So, there there's at least an indication of some kind that you're doing good outside of just a visual. Yeah. I mean, it'll even say you'll see a little perfect come up on screen, a little comic book perfect. But like, you know, the the hit sound effect of hitting a dude offbeat is different from onbeat. So, it has all kinds of stuff like that like built into it. Who's Which one is that? Who's that? Kenny. Steve's not done yet.
Oh, I went to go cheer him on while he was duking. Go Steve, go. Go Steve, go. We should all do that right now. Go, Steve, go. Go, Steve, go. Go, Steve, go. Go, Steve, go. Go, go, go. You can do it. Pinch it off and name it. go. That'll motivate him, Chad. That'll help. that's going to help. That's going to uh assist him. Assist you. Uh, this dude dead has a disco right now. [ __ ] it. Yeah, I want to I just hope he doesn't break in half cuz then that's just the worst. There's no way to fix that.
Nope. Once it breaks in half, good luck. Be there for another hour. Yeah, for that. Thank you for the uh the visual. You definitely going to want to hear this game, though. So, I'm I'm going to hear it. Apologies. Apologies. Uh if if uh I want to hear it and see it. Oh, hang on. You ever had that happen, chat? Turn off the volume and dance. Yeah, just turn off the volume. Put streamer mode. And I almost I'm like, man, you almost you almost don't want to do streamer for how cool. Let's just Let's just try without it.
[ __ ] it. Let's just try it. You know what would be great for this? Devil Trigger. Somebody said DMC 5. Devil Trigger would be mad cool for this. I've already done it in the dojo. Oh, really? Oh, you know what? You know what they should just do? Like we need a new bib ribbon, but with this game with a game like this. That's called Rez. Yeah. Where you put in like some music you want and it goes to the music. All right. There you go. Settings. Audio. Okay. Creator settings. Let's just try. I would say just do it without cuz it's so You want You want me to experience it?
Oh man. just just just it's a very very short demo. And and it's just so cool. Uh sorry. Oh, it looks like it had to set it in. Okay. Primary background 60 fps. I'll take it. Okay. Uh lock it down. I'm going to new game this. So, first they're going to do a tutorial and then you'll do like a sort of a level. Damn, they got mo cap. You can do mocap from home now. This is a Sega old Sega game. The Tatsuya Mizaguchi game. I did Sega Rally Rez Tetris Effect and Space Channel 5.
Oh, okay. Makes sense. Yeah, makes sense. Dang. Wow. The game's got a visual art style, Damn. It's funny how they teach you to counter first. Start dancing. on a brand new mission. Me and my boys right now. My freezing straight to the bone. The boys reaching. Love this [ __ ] Damn. This [ __ ] is pretty [ __ ] roll here after he's done singing. Oh, this is awesome. Spiderverse. Oh my god. We should make a Spiderverse game and then yeah how it should play. Speaking of Spiderverse, I guess we got a trailer tomorrow. We got a trailer tomorrow. And we got a trailer for Dang it.
21 go66 says go Steve go Steve go I've been talking over the music I'm doing to the beat so Hemlock is the real thing is this is the demo I love the visual aesthetic of this game like a lot. It is really well animated. Uh, all right. Let me just see. I love this already. This is short, so don't worry. Is this like a guy somewhere from the dead? We bit late to the party, aren't you, mate? for me. Okay, this is awesome. Oh, damn. Son of a [ __ ] Whoa. This game is something special. Oh [ __ ] This game is something special, bro.
Wow, this is really cool. Now, you can do the A dodges super early. It's just like if you want to do it like on me. I died. I died. Okay. Okay. Okay. Wow. This feels like an arcade game, right? It feels like if you uh if you had this at an arcade, it would like Oh, I got to play that [ __ ] you know? No. Yeah, that's sick. Yeah, absolutely. And it would be like a bunch of people crowding around it. town girl on a Saturday night at all. They all say she's crazy tonight. That's real.
That's really [ __ ] cool. I was looking at the chat. Jack, why do you do that? Oh, and it got harder because the man. Yeah, the visuals. Wow. Wow. Like some of the That's the special. Yeah. [ __ ] like that. Jesus Christ. You only have one heart, so Oh, nice. What is that? Oh, I got hit by something. Oh god. It's Dude, it's cool because it's like I I you see where you can get better. I'm trying to figure out if my attack is going to the right timing or not and I can't tell. It's the sound the the it's a it's a higher sounding oomph and you see the little perfect.
Gotcha. You'll see these little like like blue perfects come up on the hit. Dive bar. That's I think Dive Bar is just a trailer and Infinite Disco is like the dojo. Gotcha. I'm actually curious on just like mechanical [ __ ] So, yes, you can music. Wow. Okay. I'm a Barbie girl. That's very cool. Like I I I get how cool it can be. I'm like I'm like trying to figure out the ways to like optimize it, you know? Like that's the neat part is like I can make this be way cooler. Mhm. Uh, what else is in here?
There's a bunch of songs on this. And you can change the arena and um as well pop astral waters. Green screen, dude. Uh, do Oh, man. Imagine um Smooth Criminal. Smooth criminal. I'm thrilled to do it. Yeah, that'd be pretty pretty godlike. Oh my god. Smooth criminal. There's a mod to play as Deadpool and it works extremely well. I could see it. You could take that the remix they did of uh of what's it called? The Deadpool theme or what's it called? The Madonna music at the end of Deadpool and Wolverine. What is moveless? Now the whole chat's like what?
Pearly drumstick. Oh yeah. If you just tap L, he'll throw it. He'll just throw it like a batang. Huh. You use it to stay on beat, you know, to keep a combo going. Oh, so you can do things from distance. And you can press X after. Oh my god, there's a [ __ ] X. All right. Would be [ __ ] hard. Back street. back. All right. Oh. Uh, here. I'm curious how we go. Let's go. Let's go check something out. Back to title. How do we get our own music? Oh, go back in there. Oh, it was from here.
And it's in the training room. Just press Y. Add music. Supporting artists is important. Please make sure your song is compliant with EULA. I Yeah, it is. Uh, damn. Wow. Hold on a second. Let me see if I can just pull something up really quick. Hold up, dude. Hold up. It's just like put music in, please. Dude, I'm telling Hold on a second, man. I have nothing on this computer. [ __ ] Um. Uh, go ahead. Done. Done. It's done. All right. Processing. Processing. So, at tempo, you can go in there and like it. It kind of defaults everything to 120.
Uhhuh. So you could like up it or or not. They say to they say keep it in the 120. I'll just We'll just We'll just take its word for it. Hold on a second. We'll just take its word for it. We'll see how it go. 120 is a little slow. So I'll just say imagine putting the bust. There is an advanced editor. Bust the move. Yeah. Just hit save. Kitty song. Yeah. The BPM might be off. Was that a 30 minute song? Is that what I put in there? Damn straight. 29 minutes. So, yeah, you'll be playing it for 29 minutes.
Let's go. Let's go, [ __ ] Oh, goes from the beginning. All right. All right. We're just throwing it in there. You have to dial this in. Yeah. Yeah. You have to dial it in. And I've not even [ __ ] with the uh the advanced editor on it because it goes like a little goes even more depth if you want to like go even harder with that. Let's see. Stream started. Stream is starting. Um stage select. Try 141. See if I can customize it. The fact that this is all customizable is nuts. Yeah. So, oh, I have to go back to I have to go to the the keyboard.
It's only got keyboard functionality. Okay. Okay. Brunty, send me the edge of soul. Send it to me. Exactly. Send it to you. I agree. That's That's the thing though is like I just I just saw that and it popped up. Yeah. You really need to like things with the bass is what you're really looking for. It's 150. Okay, let me just change it. Also, it's not like the best version of the song. This is like an editing version of the song. So, what is this? Uh, he sent it to me on Discord. I'm trying to figure out or can send it to Max.
Delete it. Bust the groove clip I have. Add music back to here. Damn it. Hey. Oh god. Okay, hold on a second. I have a great one. No, hold up. I'm going to go download it, Chad. I can do this quickly. I can do this quickly. Quickly. Quick quickly. Go Steve. Go. Go Steve. Go. Go Steve. Go. Come on chat. What's the metronome on that? I don't know. I don't have a metronome on me. Hey Gro. Hey Rock. What's the metronome on this? It's uh What's the BPM on that? Hey Rock. Rock. Is this true?
Rock. Is this true? Hey man, no need. No. That's not it, Chad. Hold on. Yeah, that's not it. Steve needs some fiber. Hold on a second. Engage. So, definitely going to be higher than 120. let's put at a BPM finder. Yeah, BP. I'm going to do this BPM finder. Go team call. I found it. Hey, I found it. 130. Okay, keep rolling. Rolling. Rolling. Rolling. What? Save. Hold up. See if it works. It's okay. It was good that like there is some parts where it's really good. So, if you don't see the little perfect, that means you're not on me.
I don't know what the [ __ ] beat is to this song what it shows cuz it's also not really on it. Just what? Yeah, that's when like the visual indicator being down there is like helpful. This works better with things that are higher BPM. Yeah, I see it. See, now here's the thing. Like, and we hit three, but might my might be a via I wish That's good. This was in Fortnite. Like, Fortnite bought this. So then, like, with all those songs, they could really make it work. Work double the BPM I just inputed. Okay. Okay.
Okay. Hold on a second. you know, so then they can really like fully like Yeah. See, I told you some people would be like, "No." Uh, so 360, but like make it really like like they're going to have a bunch of songs. See? Yeah. There you go. I knew people would be like, "No, because and here's why I say this. Because like this game is going to be good, but I don't think it's going to be good enough where like there's gonna get a bunch and I could be wrong. I could be wrong, but like having a bunch of artists put their music in this game to like really make it work.
They just they just laid off the majority of people that made Fortnite good. It's not happening. Yeah, it's not happening. Slow motion. Thank you. Yeah. And that and that's just what I mean. Or I could just wish this game is really [ __ ] successful and then like company like, "Oh yeah, let's put our songs here." That's all. So maybe I should just wish this game, you know, sells, you know, 8 million copies and then like companies like, "Oh, hell yeah. We should um, you know, put our music in here." So there you go. Right. Because like this is neat, but let's say Oh god.
kids that worked on Arkham Knight. Most people don't know that Arm started as a rhythm based combat game. You really got to like get the hang of it, you know? Like we could put in like Mortal Kombat or something like that, but that shit's guaranteed to take the stream down. Try try doing the uh the the the level like uh or whatever the demo level. So that's what I mean, Chad. Like this thing? Yeah. Hemlock or it's hemlock. Oh, okay. Yeah, this is just like a trailer.…
