Summary
Pokimane’s Korea trip with Gucci is a whirlwind of luxury moments and honest observations. She starts by admitting imposter syndrome despite Gucci’s invitation and a hotel that feels like a private mansion. The unboxing moments and Korean delicacies—from ginseng tea to dirt-infused honey pairings—set a playful, sensory tone. She showcases a one-of-a-kind Gucci piece and a wrapping cloth (bojakci) used for special occasions, while marveling at the hotel amenities and a Starbucksesque matcha obsession exclusive to Korea. The vlog captures the joy of gifting and fashion, but also the social realities of Korea, including stark class divides and ongoing protests beside luxury experiences. The final reflections push viewers to consider the tourist gaze versus the lived experience of locals, and she expresses a desire to understand Korea beyond the glossy surface. All of this unfolds with her trademark humor, fashion, and behind-the-scenes chatter about show invites and personal growth. By the end, viewers aren’t just in it for the boutiques and cafe runs; they’re invited to think about privilege, responsibility, and cultural insight as part of travel storytelling.

I think coming on this trip and Gucci inviting me on this trip is one of the first times in my whole career that I feel imposter syndrome [Music] hello I'm showered I went to the gym I unpacked everything I'm awake and good and ready for day one of Korea Gucci hooked it up real nice with this hotel let me show you you walk in and I have a whole living room for what for me look at this amazing I don't even know what it is I have yet to unbox this and this is a Korean ginseng Garden like what what is this magical oh it's tea okay so we have the wild ginseng the tea and the honey they give you instructions pick from the garden dip into the honey and take a bite okay slay let's do it that smells like the sweetest honey I've ever smelled in my life so they say just pick some is this actually dirt yup that's dirt dip it into the honey and take a bite that is a great pairing I thought it would just taste like honey but you do taste the ginseng and they balance each other out very nicely the dirt didn't taste that bad so I'm just gonna take a bite out of it honestly hold up Korean dirt just taste different I'm getting a chocolate crumble juice you'd put it really delicious oh my God oh that's better bro I need some honey I've always wanted to do that shot I just never had a really good reason I think coming on this trip and Gucci feel imposter syndrome like usually when people tell me I have imposters syndrome I was hired for a really cool job stupid they hired you that means you deserve it because they hired you like but now I kind of get it but I'm trying to tell myself the same thing you know the Gucci team chose me and we've done a couple things together already so maybe that in and of itself is enough to mean that I'm deserving believe in ourselves and continue to manifest things for ourselves okay real quick before I go meet Jamie I'm keeping this scarf one thousand percent the one the only it opens towards you guys what is it oh look at my name it looks sure good oh beautiful wow this is I think technically my invitation to the Gucci show which I will one thousand percent save for the rest of my life yeah your gift was wrapped with a traditional Korean wrapping cloth called bojacki I believe which is considered a time-honored art form and often used to Mark special occasions the silk features a design inspired by the motives found within Palace which is where the show is gonna be all right and inside we have a glow hydrating Mist prep set and refresh I believe these have to be like sunglasses of some sort right right I wonder if any of these will go with my outfit tonight oh these are so so Gucci style very very cool and last but not least we have a whole purse are you kidding me thanks happy girl okay this is the area we're in looks like a lot of food and I've been dying to go back to Starbucks here not even because I like Starbucks like that but the matcha lattes in Korea they make their own matcha on Jeju Island so it's not the like 50 sugar powder Kaka that we get in America this is all I've wanted in my whole life thanks for caring my way to see me so you separate trash recycle pour the liquid gown good job Jen you wash it yeah so you press down so nice I have no idea what this is what is so cute it looks like a phone booth well you can get drinks in it she kind of looked like me wait hold up [Laughter] noodles for my life [Applause] this is the final look I have the cutest hair Bowen you see it and then this is the outfit it's so so so cute it's a one of a kind piece which is crazy why are they letting me wear a one of a kind piece if I don't know I am very excited very grateful I think the show is gonna be amazing amazing because their shows just are amazing grow up in a one but still it was really good let's go have fun foreign it was hard to wake up today I'm gonna be so for real it's 11 A.M as you know we only have 48 hours here so we have to do everything we can today because this is what I'm wearing Porter anyways let's go it is so beautiful here it's hard to ever want to leave thank you you look so cute oh my God my little princess is that a KFC chicken sandwich but instead of bread it's just chicken we are at coax if you ever come to Korea you need to go to this mall I went last time too it's just acid it has everything I remember I took photos exactly here the small also has this insane Library I got a Simpsons Cronut isn't it cute it's cold too this is an adult store and for the vibrator the tagline is go love yourself last time we were in Korea we came to this store and the dog that was here is that makes me so happy I was so tired last night I wanted to just like nap for four hours and I hit snooze and I never woke up again man oh no anyway so it's like five or six a.m now I slept in my makeup I haven't done that since like high school or something but I wanted to show you guys when you want to order room service they give you an iPad you can do I've never seen this before in any hotel ever french onion soup beef brisket rice noodle soup look at this gorgeous platter oh and yes this is all for me except when I ordered croissants I didn't think they were gonna give me five but I'll take it shush that looks so good I got already this is our last morning in Seoul we arrived on a morning now we're leaving on a morning yeah that's about four to eight hours maybe a little bit more but it's been so amazing but you know what I gotta do before we go get some Starbucks matcha latte I wish there was a way for me to take it home actually I'm gonna ask them if they have packets or something because it's so good here and it's so dokie back home let's go soon I'll be reunited with my life crazy crazy you look like you're in a movie theater Jamie you could take the flight right there both of us could fit here I'll come over later play on my Korea trip so I'm sorry if I sound sick if you want to do bougie Korea is the freaking place to do it they do bougie unlike any other place I've ever seen if you got money and you want to spend it you will be treated like a prince a princess it's very nice I feel like they just have top of the line everything there were even some things that I wasn't able to show like the gym at the hotel made me feel like I was in a K drama with like super rich people like it was insane anything aesthetic whether it be clothes hair makeup treatments procedures all of that stuff is also top of the freaking line however I feel like there's kind of an important flip side to that the class divide is very intense for example right beside our hotel the whole time that we were there there were really really massive human rights protests going on it makes me feel bad glad to be enjoying such a luxury experience and then legit two feet beside me are people basically protesting for their lives on top of that even things in regards to Aesthetics hair makeup Etc the reason that those things are so Advanced and good in Korea is because the beauty standard is like through the roof and there is such a pressure to look a certain way so I think it's just important to be conscious of the fact that kind of like one thing doesn't exist without the other I kind of wish that wasn't the case but it did make me want to go back in the future and maybe try to talk to people who are actual citizens of Korea and better understand the experience from the perspective of someone who's not just a Taurus because obviously no matter what country you go to the experience you have as a tourist is very different from that of its citizens I think that would be very interesting to learn a bit more about overall obviously I still had a really good time I hope you guys enjoyed the Vlog let me know if you enjoy hearing kind of my thoughts on the places that I go to and I'll see you in the next one
