Summary
Imane ‘Pokimane’ reflects on reconnecting with her Moroccan roots after seven years, balancing excitement with vivid reminders of home. She rolls through Paris first, hinting at her French language roots and the way locals pronounce her name, then heads to a rooftop near the Eiffel Tower before landing in Morocco to visit family. The vlog blends travel zest with candid vulnerability: jet lag, large family gatherings, and the emotional task of supporting relatives financially while recognizing the complexity of immigrant life. She admits needing quiet time despite the pull of extended family and public life, noting how the absence of certain comforts (like AC) makes her appreciate home even more. A recurring thread is gratitude—toward her grandparents, the health and peace of her relatives, and the chance to share memories on camera. She interviews and chats with cousins and aunts, while also reflecting on the challenges of staying connected across continents. The video closes with a warm homage to her grandfather’s library and a look at the tangible pieces of a life well lived, reminding viewers that personal history and family ties can ground a creator’s work. Pokimane conveys both the joy and the weight of being a global, traveling streamer who also yearns for intimate, everyday moments at home.

foreign [Music] by the Eiffel Tower I always drew a bunch of money I usually would not want to film myself crying guess where we're at just guess just guess Parry just guess Parry don't guess it's Patty we're in Paris and I'm so happy and excited because if you don't already know French is my first language in French they call it like mother tongue wait I think that's the English thing and the thing that I love the most about being here which you wouldn't expect people pronounce my name right like when they read my name they're like Iman they don't say I mean I man [ __ ] Iron Man I hate that one we're meeting up with Arya for food it's so pretty I have a diarrhea shoe they were in the golf cart headed to twitchcon apparently there was a little thing sitting to go to one of the other cards and Hassan might have broken her room thanks baby don't worry I'll catch you thank you kill me every time for the Vlog I wanted to quickly shout out the Mayo bodyguard Don Lemon I'm just gonna get a picture real quick I'm such a huge fan ten dollars no no I was just doing a bit Yeah they walked me through here but it is rude and he should have told you first next stop hotel next stop hamburgers and apparently these are hamburgers that like Kim K and Bella Hadid love so if they suck I'll tell you guys we are at dinos tell us about how good this looks right here I mean that looks insane the cheese looks like a sauce it really does look at the upskirts all right I just thought of like a skirt of the cheese but it was upside down oh my God we are headed to a rooftop experience by the Eiffel Tower hello sorry I'm not fully done getting ready but I have been severely jet-lagged during this trip so I haven't gotten to talk much as I'd like to I'm in Morocco yesterday I saw my grandma and grandpa on my dad's side which was really nice because I don't get to see them literally ever it was so nice to see them again for some reason it kind of felt like I had never left like I thought it would be harder to connect with them but it really really wasn't and I felt very very at home it was so nice to hug them very tight and I hope that they live forever and I can come see them a billion more times right right I mean to be fair they do seem to have like pretty Healthy Lifestyles and like pretty peaceful stress-free lives so here's the whole thing I am not used to being around people so much and it made me realize I really like my alone time I do love obviously my parents and my family and they're always willing to feed me and do anything for me I'm so stimulated up here that I need a calming environment otherwise I boom also one of the reasons I moved out of streamer houses it's kind of nice to come back here because I don't waste a little bit humbling like there's no AC there's ants everywhere there's honking all the time and you're kind of like yeah it's alive I'm still gonna do whatever I need to do and I'm gonna hella appreciate those things when I get back home I withdrew a bunch of money and I've been putting them in envelopes because I really want to just give back to my family while I'm here and I don't get to be here very much so it's kind of like three to six years worth of support in a way I've been very reflective about content and work and business stuff and I think I have some ideas that I'm very excited to execute I'm headed to dinner with like a lot of my family members on my dad's side I have like a total of maybe seven aunts and uncles and they all have hello kids and on my mom's side it's like five aunts and uncles and they got some kids there's so many cousins and some of them are twins and they've all gotten older and some people from one side of the family have the same newest people from the other side of the family and it's just so many people wrote so many people like I don't know how I'm gonna do it but um I'm gonna smile and not a lot I'm gonna eat a lot so one other random thing I feel like they kind of have an expectation of me when I go almost like at a meet and greet they can all See Me online but I don't see any of them online so I'm really curious what that Dynamic is gonna be like anyways we will see I'm almost like do you want me to film you going into the restaurant and I was like yeah yeah sure that would be nice and she's like I'll be careful not to film your feet oh got it got it first people that recognized me both of them in Morocco are these three girls downstairs they're like are you that a gamer she was like yes you're making us Moroccans proud it's so cute just found a vlog Sonic the pictures turned out can we take it of course yeah yeah after we were moved to the upstairs patio it's so pretty all right if you're not sure which bathroom to go to this one's for men and this one's for girls of course one of the things they don't have in America my name is so cute we have orange juice everything else but not banana juice this is wow laughs you did her hair to it she looks so cute crying while I Vlog these moments in my life I think it's good to be authentic to some degree I gave the money to my family members like my grandparents and my aunts on my mom's side and my grandma was saying like you and your family coming all the way out here was a lot of work that and of itself is enough we appreciate you guys doing that so much so that we can see each other before they pass and that's so hard to come to terms with I mean like of course people die at some point but that morbid reality is not something that you need to think about very frequently but when you can only see certain family members once every few years it's really really something you need to think about especially after covet they both ended up getting covered we weren't sure if they were going to make it frankly yeah it's just hard because being an immigrant you essentially grow up pretty separated from your extended family and you can't help but think like oh what if I was able to have spent more time with them growing up like if we didn't grow up in another country or should I be making even more time to try to come see them but realistically when you're on the other side of the world it's very very hard even someone like me with such privileges it's still it's a lot to do especially because they don't live in a very accessible place like we have to take a plane and another plane and then drive very far or take one plane and then drive like eight hours like I can't just hop up on a plane and pull up to the city where my grandparents are at and I actually cannot do this alone at all it's just so secluded I can only pray that I get to see them many many more times so they like element and then they put it on the computer and then and then you put it on the internet you sound a little bit like that Meme you were talking about before have you ever had a dream where are you that you um you had you you would you could you do I thought it was like harder well you can edit it and that can be the hard part oh damn I want to do a little L dance want to show me a little dab you know I have a dance in fortnite it's called the Pokey dance I never had fortnite oh really oh yeah you only play mobile games that's right this is it oh it was that one yeah I hope that dance with fortnite made it by itself I made it it's called Pokey you said he's a squish mellow he sure is explosive diarrhea oh my God we're all watching okay drama in the car yeah have you seen any before yeah no he can't even read fast enough [Applause] oh yeah wow that Echo and it was one I think artists that owned all of it and then when he died he gave it to one of his workers like one of the staff this is the hotel part bro let me film please hey this could be someone's room get out of there yeah oh my God I want to show you guys my favorite part of my grandparents Place well this is where you come up and honestly the whole home is really really beautiful birds flying all the time and hang out around here but this is my favorite spot it's my grandpa's Library he has read every single book in here no joke he used to be the principal of like the biggest school in the city and we would always come up here and like study read random things and there used to be a super old computer right here I'm talking Windows XP or earlier and I would play Pinball on it all the time because it was the only game that was here it's so cool because I feel like I get to see his life in a way in this room and there's so many cute little gadgets and knickknacks and some photos he has lived a beautiful life and he has touched so many people and helped them and yeah
