Summary
Shane Hummus profiles a collection of “lazy” yet massively profitable YouTube niches, arguing that success isn’t about flawless production but a smart idea and consistent execution. He highlights channels that POST simple POV videos—like a head chef filming himself cooking—earning substantial money with minimal extra effort. Examples include Safal Burger POV, Ice Cream Rolls, and a Dubai-driving video that racked up millions of views. Shane stresses monetization beyond AdSense, noting that his own channels earn far more through alternative streams, sometimes multiplying AdSense earnings by 20x or more. He cites concrete numbers, such as a head chef’s POV video making about $35,000 and multiple creators pulling in thousands per month from ad revenue alone. The talk pivots to practical steps: pick the right niche, choose strong video ideas, and monetize wisely, which he plans to cover in a free live training with a live Q&A. A live workshop is promoted, promising niche validation tools and strategies to set up channels for success from day one. The video closes by encouraging action and offering coaching options for those who want hands-on help, including a sneak peek case study and a “niche validator pro 2.5.”
Key Takeaways
- A single POV cooking video can drive 7 million views and about $35,000 in earnings for a head chef at a top London restaurant.
- Channels like Safal Burger POV and Ice Cream Rolls demonstrate that food-related content can yield $3k–$29k per month largely from AdSense.
- Virtual Rail Fan shows a niche audience (train enthusiasts) can produce $20k–$59k monthly with public-domain footage.
- McDonald’s-themed POV content, such as Steven Patula’s McDonald’s POV fries, can reach 8 million views and around $42,000 in revenue.
- Road-drive and location walk-through channels (e.g., Jay Utah) can generate $3k–$10k per month from simple recording activities.
- Niche monetization can exceed AdSense significantly (e.g., $10–$20 per 1,000 views on main channels versus $400+ per 1,000 for highly monetized niche audiences).

So, everyone tells you that starting a YouTube channel takes massive effort, daily uploads, perfect production, constant grinding. Meanwhile, I found a bunch of lazy YouTube channels that still make six figures. And you would not believe how unbelievably simple and lazy these are. They basically take zero extra time or effort from the person's day. And if you don't believe me, look at this very first channel right here, his most popular videos are just POVs of him cooking. So, he's literally just doing what he already would have been doing anyways, but then he just records it with the camera and uploads it to YouTube.
Maybe an extra 15 minutes of work max. That's it. And he's making 61 to $184,000 a month. Not a year, a month. Now, one thing I want to preface this with before we jump into this, cuz there's going to be a ton of amazing examples here, is most people who try to succeed on YouTube fail. I actually failed myself with probably like my first five channels that I tried to succeed with on YouTube. I made little to no money from those channels and I don't want that to happen to you and that's why I make these videos that are inspirational, motivational, but most importantly educational.
I'm showing you what works and also telling you what doesn't work on this channel. And all this is completely free and super valuable from someone who is highly successful on YouTube. With that being said, I want to take it a step further and give you even higher chances of success. And that's why I'm doing a live training this week which you can check out by clicking the link in the description and the pin comment below. This will be a Zoom call where I will present to you the most important things when it comes to having success on YouTube.
Also be focusing on picking the right niche because that's incredibly important. Picking the right video ideas, monetizing your channel correctly, setting your channel up for success so that you're basically not wasting your time uploading videos when your channel wasn't set up for success in the first place. All these things I'm going to be covering in the live training and more because I'm going to be doing a free Q&A right after where you can ask me any question directly on Zoom. So, click that link in the description in the pin comment below and let's jump into this with.
So, like I said, his most popular videos are literally him just doing POVs making food at a restaurant. Now, he is the head chef at a top London restaurant. He also sometimes does the bartending work at a top London restaurant, but he also makes these simple uh videos like how to make an omelette like a chef or cooking probably the best potato dish in the world. And his most popular video, POV, head chef at a top London restaurant, made $35,000 and got over 7 million views. And he's really just getting started. He only started the channel a couple of years ago.
Now, additionally, the monetization is what's easy to see. So, it's kind of easy to see, you know, someone's getting a lot of views. You can, you know, use these tools like Vid IQ or view stats to check how much money they're making when it comes to AdSense, right? So, those are the ads that pop up on your channel. But just to put this in perspective, if you're monetizing correctly, you can make literally 20 times more than AdSense or more in some cases. Just to put this in perspective, on my channel, I make $10 to $20 per 1,000 views, and I make $400 per 1,000 views from all other monetization sources or more than that.
And that's just on my main channel, which is a mass market channel that gets a lot of views. On my second channel, which is a niche channel, I make over $4,000 per 1,000 views because it's targeted at a very specific niche of people who have extra money, business owners, basically. So, if he's monetizing this channel correctly, he's making way more than 61 to $184,000 a month. Now, to be fair, some channels are easier to monetize than others, which is why it's important to figure out your niche and the type of channel you're making and who you're serving from the very beginning, which is something I'll be helping people in the live training.
So, click that link in the description in the pin comment below. You can literally ask me, you know, if if you think your channel idea is a good idea, and I will answer it. Now, very clearly, does not have to put a lot of extra effort in this channel. He literally just records himself doing the thing that he's already doing. So, it's a super quote unquote lazy style of content, which people absolutely love. With that being said, you're probably thinking, "Well, Shane, he's a top chef at a London restaurant. Super fancy restaurant. You know, I'm not a top chef." Well, first of all, this isn't just about being a chef.
There's a lot of other things that you can do this with. All right, quick break, guys. I'm hanging out with my brother Zach right now. He is not a tech guy at all and he just made $214 in a single day, one month after starting on YouTube. And this week on Sunday at 900 PM Eastern time, we are hosting a free live workshop called the YouTube content advantage for making money in 2026. It's happening on April 5th, 2026. So, make sure you mark that down. So, click the comment below to check it out. And for everyone who shows up live, we are giving away the niche validator pro 2.5, which will help you pick your niche or dial your niche in.
All right, we are only offering it to those who attend the live workshop. So, make sure to show up. If you're struggling to find your niche or you don't want to commit months or even years to a niche that ends up not being profitable, then click this link, right? This is the this is the link for you. Click the link in the description in the pin comment below. And uh once you register, hit add to calendar so it actually shows up in your Google, Apple or Outlook calendar. And if for whatever reason you're watching this in the future, still check the link in the description in the pin comment below because we may be doing another live workshop.
Okay? So, you'll also be able to ask me questions live. So, I'll see you Sunday this week. Now, back to your regularly scheduled programming. But, let me introduce you to another channel, Safal Burger POV. He makes about $3 to $9,000 a month. This is a newer channel, but he basically started up his own food truck and he just does the same exact thing, recording himself making the burgers and serving clients and customers at his food truck and he's crushing it, making $3 to $9,000 a month. So, he's actually getting a lot of customers because of this YouTube channel as well.
And again, that's just from AdSense alone. If he's properly monetizing it, he could be making a lot more than that. And it's not just burgers, guys. Here's a channel, Ice Cream Rolls, that's doing the same exact thing. They're making about10 to $29,000 a month. And all they do is just film themselves making these different ice cream dishes in the Thai style where it's kind of like rolled ice cream. But you might be thinking, "Well, Shane, uh, you know, I don't know how to do any of these things. I can't make burgers. You know, I work at McDonald's or I work at, you know, a fast food place.
I don't have any of these skills." These are the kind of excuses I hear all the time. And I want you to stop coming up with reasons why you can't do it and start coming up with reasons why you can. So here's an example. Steven Patula, $4 to $12,000 a month and he started his POV channel while working at McDonald's. and his most popular video, McDonald's POV fries, got 8 million views and made him $42,000, which is more than the average annual income by far for a worker at McDonald's. So, he made 42,000 from an 8 million view video.
He's gotten about 50 times more views than that. So, he's likely made at least 2 to 3 million just in AdSense alone from this channel that he started a few years ago. And that's just in AdSense alone. if he's actually monetizing it correctly, he's made way more money than that. Okay? So, I I hope I'm illustrating my point here for everybody. All right? Please, you know, everyone is a genius when it comes to coming up with excuses for why they can't do something. And there's a million ways that you or reasons that you shouldn't do something or you can't do something.
Come up with the reasons and the ways that you can do it. Try stuff out. Like, start thinking about what you're already doing and how you could potentially monetize that by making content on YouTube. because it's a blue ocean. There's so many opportunities out there. And you might be thinking, "Well, Shane, I don't work in anything where I make food. I'm at like a dead-end job. You know, I don't know how I'm going to make money." Okay, Ian on YouTube literally made a video just talking about why am I a 30-year-old working a dead-end retail job.
Another video, I just got fired from my three-year job working at 7-Eleven with no warning. Another video, day in the life working a dead-end retail job at 30. Another warning, 7-Eleven rehired me, so I took my 92-year-old grandma to the casino. Now, he's making $3 to $9,000 a month from this channel. And this video right here, why am I 30 years old working a dead-end retail job got three million views and made over $16,000. I'm just making an even bigger mess, dude, at this point. I don't know. And if you look at the comments section from the video, you'll see that a ton of people donated to him.
He was having $500 donations. I think he got tens of thousands of dollars in donations in just that one video alone. Plus, again, if he's monetizing correctly, he can make money from other ways. So, guys, this is what it comes down to is making sure that you set your channel up from the beginning in the correct way because there are quote unquote lazy or easy or simple ways that you can make content and make a ton of money. You don't have to choose the super difficult way. That's the thing that everyone thinks they need to do.
Oh, I have to master video editing and I have to be incredible at making thumbnails and I have to do all these things. No, it comes down to the idea. the idea of your channel and the idea of the videos. That's the most important thing. So basically, your niche and your video ideas, those are the most important things when it comes to your success by far. And if you pick the right niche and the right video ideas, then the rest of it does not need to be good. This all this content that I've shown you is dead simple.
Dead simple content. Anybody could do it. And again, that's what I'm going to be teaching in the live training. So, make sure you do not miss out on it. It's a one-time live training. We're also giving away an AI we worked super hard on that's designed to help you choose the right ideas, the right niche for your channel so you set yourself up for success from the very beginning. So do not miss out on this onetime live training. Click the link in the description in the pen comment below and I look forward to seeing you there.
All right, I think I did enough like burger flipping or you know retail job related stuff here. Let's move on to the next one which is Jay Utah. And there's actually a ton of channels that do this, but he's making about $3 to $10,000 a month, and all he does is just drive down the street and record it in different locations. Now, he might not actually be doing this himself. He could potentially just be hiring somebody else to do it, but his most viewed video here is Dubai 4K driving downtown skyscraper sunset. But let's just assume he is doing the videos himself, which he probably isn't, but let's just assume he is.
All he's doing is just traveling around, probably doing anyways, and a lot of people already do anyways, or at least that's their dream lifestyle. And he just records himself driving around. That's it. Making $3 to $10,000 a month. And according to View Stats, his most popular video, the Dubai one, got 10 million views and made $53,000. $53,000 for driving down the street in Dubai. I mean, that definitely paid for the plane ticket and the hotel. just wild. I mean, and by the way, there's a ton of channels like this. He's not the only channel. A lot of people just walk around in places that they are and record it.
Like, if you type walking around Switzerland, look at how many channels there are and look at how many views they get. So, this is obviously a super lazy, super accessible style of content, especially if you live in a place that's desirable. But even if you don't live in a place that's desirable, people are kind of interested in that. You know, they want to see what the real life situation is like there. What what is it like to walk around in the streets of Mumbai or in Switzerland or in Thailand or in Tokyo or New York City?
What is it actually like just to walk around? People are intrigued and interested in that. All right, next channel. Virtual Rail fan. This one absolutely blows my mind. This is literally a channel that just records trains and railroads and usually they just use footage that's available to the public. So, they just find footage of trains, not their not footage that they actually took themselves, but just footage of trains that's available to the public, and they upload it to YouTube. That's it. This channel makes 20 to $59,000 a month. And the the thing about this one is, you know, there's like a small percentage of people out there that are obsessed with trains, okay?
And for most of us, we're like, "Okay, yeah, trains are cool, I guess." You know? Yeah. Okay. But there's a very small subset of people that are just like obsessed with trains. And chances are you have some kind of weird obsession in your life where most people just do not care about it at all, but you just love it. And this guy is one of those guys, right? He is obsessed with trains. He absolutely loves trains. You know, like on his about section it says, "Visit our website and start train watching today." So, he just has this weird obsession with train watching, which is super weird and boring to most of us, but to him, it's fascinating.
And there's a very small percentage of people out there that also find it fascinating. And he appeals to that small percentage of people. And that is why he's making 20 to $59,000 a month with dead simple content as well. And again, this is just from AdSense. He's probably making a lot more from other sources. This video right here, for instance, near miss between Amtrak and Delivery Truck, got three million views and made $15,000. All right, so this next channel is basically when you just talk about a weird hobby that you have or something that you really like to do anyways and you're just already spending a ton of time doing it and you just talk about it on camera.
So, Ruby Granger is an example of this. She really loves reading and she really loves journaling about the books that she's reading and then she really loves talking about reading and talking about journaling about reading and she's making $2 to $5,000 a month doing this. And again, that's just from AdSense alone. If she's properly monetizing the channel, she's probably making far more than that. Now, she actually started her channel out with the study with me type videos, which is literally where people just watch somebody else studying and that helps them, I guess, get motivated to study themselves.
And this video right here, for instance, 6:30 Oxford student morning routine got two million views and made over $10,000. Plus, I'm trying to practice [music] Latin every day. So, this is a great way to make sure that I get some Latin practice. All right, so the next thing is basically just talking about how you do your career or how you got into your career. Now, this one is dead simple because the stuff that you assume is insanely obvious is not obvious to other people. So, here's a great example. accounting stuff. He basically talks about the basics of accounting on this channel.
He's making about $4 to $111,000 a month doing this. And again, he's probably making far, far more than this from other methods of monetization. I would be willing to bet this is a 7 figure channel. This video is going to be all about the differences between debits and credits. But let's get even deeper because there's a ton of other channels that do this as well. Let's let's talk about the financial controller. He's also an accounting channel, but what he does is he helps people who are already successful accountants become financial controllers or another super highlevel accounting career, but usually he focuses on becoming a financial controller.
Guys, in today's video, I'm going to show you how to read and analyze the balance sheet like a CFO does. Now, it says he's making 1 to 4K per month, but I happen to know because he's my student that he's making a heck of a lot more than that. There's months where he's made high five figures from this channel and he does that because he's monetizing correctly, which is something I always like to teach people. Make sure you attend my live training. Click the link in the description in the pin comment below. But it's way way more than that.
It's basically every single career or subcareer or job that you can think of out there. There is content about how to get into the job or how to do the job, etc. Or there should be there's an audience of people that want to watch content like that on YouTube. And I know that this is one of the easiest audiences to monetize because it's just so obvious how much value you can give them. Like imagine whatever job you're in right now. If you had a time machine, you could go back to the younger version of yourself and tell yourself the exact skills that you need for the job, the exact way to make your resume or your portfolio look really good.
You probably would have saved yourself a massive amount of time, effort, and money getting into the job. And you probably would have made a ton of money as well, extra money. Well, it's the same exact thing with careers. So Josh, for instance, helps people get into IT and cyber security careers. Today's video is going to be the ultimate guide on how to get into cyber security. Nicole from GRC from Mere Mortals helps people get into GRC, which is governance, risk, and compliance. Best time to get started in cyber security was definitely last year and she makes a ton of money doing that.
And they're all my clients. I taught them how to do it. But it's not just them. It's tons of other people as well. Simone B Tech 100,000 subscribers and she's got a sevenf figureure business from YouTube and she helps people get into government technology jobs and these low competition tech jobs are actually the best jobs that you can land. Boyd Kuwis 300,000 subscribers he's got an 8 figureure business and most of his leads come from YouTube as well and Boyd Kuis helps people get into very specific cyber security jobs that usually have to do with financial compliance like PCI compliance.
How you can start a cyber security career in 7 days or less. So yeah, there's tons of these simple, boring jobs. And by the way, this stuff is super simple to them. The stuff that they're teaching is is like dead simple to them. It's so easy. It's so it's lazy content for them to make. Like you could just talk about it off the top of your head very easily. There's no effort that goes into this. But to other people, it's like golden nuggets of information. And I am so confident that this works that I actually had my own brother do it.
And we started 8 months ago on his channel. And just to put in perspective, my brother is over 50 years old, not techsavvy, never uploaded a YouTube to video or even made a video in his life besides recording on his phone. He's not really even a YouTube person. He's more of a Netflix or, you know, TV style person. And he was really doubtful that it was going to work for him cuz he didn't have any charisma or at least he thought he didn't and all that kind of stuff that people always think when it comes to YouTube.
But I got him to do it and he uploaded his very first video just teaching people how to get into trade careers and some of the best trade careers to get into, which is super easy for him because he spent 30 years in the trades. I'm giving you the trades that are actually paying the most right now. And that video got over 800,000 views and one month after uploading his first video, he had a $214 day. Right? So this lazy type of content is super super effective. And again, I'm going to be teaching this type of content in the live training.
Click the link in the description in the pin comment below. Now, I know that 99% of people watching this video are never going to work directly with myself or my team. That is completely fine. I love to give way more value than I receive. I think I give at least 10 times more, maybe even a hundred times more value than I receive. I get emails and messages all the time from people that say that my videos helped them a ton and they were able to blow up their channels because of my free content, whether that be my videos or my live trainings, etc.
With that being said, there's 1% of you out there, maybe 0.1% of you out there that do want to work directly one-on-one with someone to help them grow and make money on their channel. And this is because you want to do it faster, better, you want to make more money. You want to save yourself headache, heartache, time, effort, money, etc. And if that is you, then go ahead and apply for the coaching down in the description and the pin comment below. Now, here are the types of people we typically work with. business owners who want to grow and make money on YouTube and expand their brand and get more leads and also nurture their existing audience because YouTube's insanely good for doing that.
And they basically want to have something that makes their sales team into a bunch of cashiers or it just makes their marketing process so easy that sales is a breeze. YouTubers who are already crushing it and they want to crush it more. YouTubers who are getting a lot of views but they're struggling with monetization. Or people who want to treat YouTube like a business. They want to treat YouTube seriously and really turn it into a sustainable business. It's not some kind of little hobby project or something like that. And with all these people, you have to want to start right now or very very soon.
So, if that is you, click the link in the description and the pin comment below to sign up for a one-on-one strategy session. But only do it if you're very serious about growing and making money on YouTube because we only accept a limited amount of people and we're very picky about who we work with. For everyone else, just attend the live training and enjoy the free value. But if you want to see an example of someone we worked with that we were able to get insanely good results for, click right here to see an example because this is going to be a case study interview testimonial where we literally ask them questions and they reveal exactly how we help them.
So click right here to check that out.
