Open-ear JBL Sense Pro deliver immersive sound with air-conduction, 38-hour battery, and multi-device pairing for all-day listening with real-world comfort.

Summary

Justine tests JBL’s premium open-ear Sense Pro headphones, highlighting their air-conduction design that lets you hear the world while, surprisingly, delivering punchy sound. She notes the 16.2 mm diamond-like carbon drivers, LDAC high-resolution wireless capability, IP54 dust/water resistance, and a 38-hour total battery life (8 hours in-ear plus 30 hours in the case). The 20° adjustable hinge promises a comfortable fit for glasses, hats, or long listening sessions. She also samples spatial sound for movies, tests multi-point connectivity between phone and computer, and demonstrates customizable gestures and Siri via the JBL headphones app. Real-world use, especially during runs and calls with wind, is a focus, along with the secure open-ear fit that stays aware of surroundings. The interview-style hands-on feel makes this review practical for on-the-go listeners who need awareness and comfort without sacrificing sound quality.

Hey, it's Justine and I partnered with JBL to show you their brand new JBL Sense Pro headphones. This is JBL's most premium open your model and we've got them all here in the studio to check out. So, here's a look at all of the colors. They've got gray, white, blue, purple, and black. All of these colors look so pretty. So, I think for my review, I'm going to be going with the purple ones because they kind of match my outfit and it's the closest color to pink. So, obviously, we're going to go with the purple. All right, let's unbox. Wow, I love this color. so much. So, first things first, we've got the earbuds. We've got some documentation and the case. Wow, it also matches the headphones perfectly. Look at that. Oh, and we can't forget to download the app. I like that they have a very prominent L and R on the headphones and also on the case, too. It looks like we have a software update available. JBL isn't new to the headphone and speaker game, and I've been loving their headphones so much. I've made videos on them in the past, but these are a little bit different than traditional in-ear earbuds or headphones. They are openear earbuds, so they rest on the curve of your ear, not inside of it. And what's cool is you can still hear everything around you while the sound points directly into your ears. So, no one standing next to you on the subway or in a meeting will be able to hear what you're listening to, which is great. This tech is JBL's open sound technology with air conduction. It's all about staying connected to what's happening around you while still getting that immersive audio. The other thing is these are so light. They have a 20° adjustable hinge that lets you angle the speaker for a more personal fit. I love this because if you're wearing glasses or a hat, or if you're just running around the city all day, you want something that is not tiring. And the pressure-free fit is what makes these a true allday companion. Inside each earbud is a 16.2 mm diamondlike carbon dynamic driver. These are lightweight and super responsive. You get crisp highs, detailed mids, and full bass. Sense Pro is also certified for high resolution wireless with LDAC. So, if you're streaming high-res audio, you get premium sound quality all wirelessly. These are also rated IP54 for dust and water. So, any sweat from your workouts or unexpected rain, these will be just fine. Adaptive bass boost automatically adjusts based on your volume and environment, so bass is always full and clean without distortion. There's also JBL spatial sound. So, this takes stereo content and gives you a more immersive sound field. This is perfect if you love watching movies or content on your phone. There's also the JBL headphones app that lets you customize EQ controls, sound profiles, and more. Using this, you can make them sound exactly how you want. I'm now going to test out watching a movie and testing out the spatial sound. Sounds pretty good. It's also really cool because hearing this type of audio in open ear headphones is so unique because normally you're so used to having noise cancelling. So everything is being canceled out, but I can hear the neighbors dog barking. I can hear the cars. So I still feel like I'm in my element and I love this so much for when I'm outside running. Now for me, I am always on the go. So battery life is essential. These have 38 hours total. You'll get 8 hours on the earbuds and 30 more minutes in the case. And with a 10-minute charge, that'll give you four hours of listening. These also have wireless charging capabilities, too. Now, of course, we love hearing about all of the specs, but the real life experience is where it matters. So, here I am in the kitchen and I'm listening to a podcast. What's great is I can hear every single word perfectly clear. But if somebody walks up to me to talk to me, I'm able to hear them perfectly and clearly because of this open fit design. If you're someone who doesn't like the feeling of being closed off by headphones, this completely solves that problem. You can still live life and listen at the same time. Now, call quality is huge for me. I do so many calls on my phone. I also love going out and walking around while I'm doing my calls. And Sense Pro has four microphones plus a voice pickup sensor. So, even with wind or noise around you, your voice always stays clear. Now, if you jump between calls all day, this is an absolute lifesaver. Now, running with regular earbuds is something that I left in the past long ago. Even if they feel super secure at the start, I feel like midway through my runs, I always find myself picking up buds in the dust. Now, why these are so awesome is because they are actually a super secure fit. And with the open ear design, I can still hear cars or any other obstacles that may pose a threat when I'm out and about. And let me tell you, I have definitely run into some coyotes on my runs, and it's scary. So, I just messing around in my settings, and it's kind of neat because you can customize the left and right gestures. So, right now, I have the left. If I tap one, that'll put the volume up. If I tap twice, that turns the volume down. Now, when a call comes in, you can double tap to answer it. And you can tap to hold to hang up. Now, if I switch over to the right ear is where you can tap to play and pause. Double tap for your next track. Triple tap for the previous track. And then we also have tap and hold on this side as well to activate Siri. It also has the same double tap and tap and hold gesture on both ears if you want to answer or hang up on a call. Something else that I love about these is I'm always switching between my computer and my phone. With this, there's a multi-point connection. I can be on my phone scrolling social media and then I can head back to my computer to finish an edit. This is also pretty cool. They have OraCast, so you can connect to any OraCast broadcast. So, just imagine a huge team workshop where everyone can hear the same exact audio. It's pretty cool. These have been so much fun to test out.
