I wonder if the developers of the game debated on cutting that whole section because I imagine that what this looks like is it could easily have gone from I'm driving to a drive or cut away to like Grace doing something and then it it shows up here. I'm so glad they made that. I really am. It's it doesn't, you know, doesn't have to do anything. Doesn't have to mean anything. It's just plain old cool and I am okay with that. Some people, you know, sometimes you just want an action movie. Sometimes you don't want to have to think. Sometimes you just want to be on a roller coaster, you know, cuz roller coasters are fun. You know, if you really think about roller coasters, they don't make they don't make sense. And they don't have to. And that's okay. Oh my god, something burst out from within. Nope, there you are. I love A lot of people can say things about never- ending stories and like things like that and too many sequels, yada yada yada. I love the feeling that is kind of like secondhand nostalgia because it's nostalgic for me, but it's it's so cool when you have a universe, say like the Resident Evil universe, where the characters can have nostalgia for a location and you can see the passage of time. It's so rare cuz sometimes it'll happen in a game like in a single game there'll be a time jump and then you'll be back there and it can kind of evoke that feeling. But this is literally there are so many layers here with which to have [music] this nostalgia. You have the nostalgia of the very first time you were here back in the original non-reake game on the PlayStation whatever. And then you have fast forward in time and you have the remake of Resident Evil 2. And it's like that's not that long ago, but it's long enough ago that I kind of am like wow man I remember playing through that. That was super cool. It was like one of the first remakes they were making and it was just fun to go through. And then you have once again you're like swirling in it again now here in Resident Evil 9. Not even that's not even numerically factual to the to the remakes. It's just it's a rare feeling and I can't even I don't even know what other game could possibly evoke that feeling. This is cool. All right, so we got information here. I'm not sure what that's supposed to be. It's like some kind of schematic view of a gigantic building or something or an underground thing or maybe something small and I'm wrong, but it could be like a coliseum type thing. Suspected arc location, point of interest, possible entrance. That might be familiar. It's the church or the Oh, it's probably the orphanage. That was another location that happened there. Okay. See if there's some new items. Oh, thank goodness. There's at least a little bit. Let's kind of take these. I'm not going to take the med injector because I'm actually not taking that much damage. Honestly, I just like I could do this. I could do the pistol like the whole game. I actually really I really appreciate the pistol and I'm I'm very much like pistol forward. It's like when I play Dead Space, I play it all with just the single cutter. I don't want the fancier ones. I just want this because it's predictable and I could be good with it and it's for more forgiving than the uh than the rifle is. Cuz if that was like, you know, an AR-15 type thing with more than just the few bullets I had, I'd be like, "Okay, this makes sense." But pistol's fine. Okay, from our survey of the grounds, we've pinpointed some locations that have still viable resources. 2F office. The armory still has leftover supplies. Gun shop out back. Working shotgun and ammo. Parking garage, advanced team supplies, weapon upgrade parts. Okay. Okay, that's good to know. I don't remember where any of that what what was where. I'm also trying to be on the ear out for uh any of the uh raccoons. Oh, I hear it. I see you. So, [laughter] I just I see Claire's little model there dangling. That's adorable. September 25th, we're turning the station into a temporary shelter due to the sudden massive outbreak. All P the police personnel have been instructed to make the safety of the citizens our top priority as we try to accommodate as many of them as possible. One of the refugees attacked us in the middle of the night, resulting in the death of one officer and injuring three others. The person in question was quickly restrained. We believe this was simply a case of someone snapping under intense stress. A mob attacked the station today, resulting in a number of casualties. A few survivors were able to make it safely behind the emergency shutters, but surrounded as we are, it'll be hard for any of us to escape this place. We're not sure if we can fix any of our comm equipment, so we remain cut off from the outside world. There was another clash on the west side of the station around 1 p.m. 12 people died, and there is only a handful of survivors left. Everything is falling into disarray here. David Ford, I'm not sure if Ford was the chief. Wow, that's not a lot of survivors. Uh, turned, turned, turned. I don't even remember looking at this before. Okay, so operations room doesn't have much else besides that raccoon. But that's okay. That's all we need. Oh, the heart door. The weird the weird police station of puzzles. And I'm still okay with that. Raccoon City. So long as it's consistent through everything in the city, I'm okay with it. It all makes sense because it all is in the universe. It's just this is a kind of city that loves its puzzles. Kind of people that loves having weird random charms and objects seek keeping everything safe. That's what we need. Oh yeah, and there was something to take out. That's right. It's trust it won't budge. I was about to say, man, if I if I wonder if there was going to be a thing where if you remember the code, you could put it in. I mean, okay, let's be honest. I feel like probably all this was hinted at beforehand in addition to who this person was. And I thought they looked familiar like the Grace and and Emily did. Do something. Either way, I'm not sure uh what the real threat is there. Incredible slapping ability for the tops of beds is uh something to be desired. But you know, still it's okay. All right. Like I I cannot overstate this game is really pretty and has some things that are so well integrated that you would take it for granted. things that ordinarily in games like would require would have its whole tech demo dedicated to this and it's like I'm just able to do this now. Maybe I just been living in the indie game world for too long, but just like seeing leaps and bounds of graphical fidelity come up and and totally real time. They have all these nasty surgical scars across their heads, and if you meet their gaze, they'll greet you with this unsettling giggle. Apparently, they are used for human experiments. The whole thing gives me goosebumps. Yeah, I built a place like this. Spencer must have been more uninched than any of us imagined. Sensational. [sighs and gasps] The prospect of being able to freely experiment on those kids send shivers of anticipation throughout my entire body. It's all so exciting.
