Resident Evil: Requiem - Part 13 (ENDING)
Chapters8
Markiplier introduces the urgency of saving Leon and advancing the rescue sequence.
Markiplier delivers an action-packed, meta-resident-evil finale, embracing Grace’s mysterious power, a twist on Elpus as a cure, and a victorious but cheeky ending with Leon alive.
Summary
Markiplier’s Part 13 finale closes Resident Evil: Requiem with a high-energy blend of horror and humor. He threads Grace’s enigmatic control over Elpus into a surprising cure reveal, reframing the so-called key as something that reverses virus-based weapons. The stream toggles between Leon’s tense battles and Grace’s hopeful, almost mythic moment, punctuated by Grace’s realization that Elpus is not what the antagonists expected. Markiplier’s commentary leans into the game’s glow-up visuals, noting the RE engine’s beauty and how the two gameplay modes—Grace’s more puzzle-driven segments and Leon’s classic action—coexist as a single creative package. He references Pandora’s Box and mythological echoes to interpret the story’s themes, while also poking fun at the plot’s absurdities and embracing the fan-service callbacks. The closing montage ties up character arcs (Grace, Leon, Sherry, Emmy) and teases a world where Umbrella’s legacies might finally face real accountability. Throughout, Mark’s signature humor remains: self-deprecating, thrilled by the game’s set-pieces, and oddly reflective about whether choices really matter in a world of bioweapons and corporate machinations. The bonus modes and the promise of Resident Evil 4 remakes keep the conversation open, inviting fans to revisit the journey with fresh eyes. Ending on a buoyant note, he signs off ready for the next chapter in the RE universe.

Hello everybody. My name is Markiplier and we don't have any time. We got to say we got to save We got to save save Leon. Leon. Got to save Leon. Got to I'm not going to bother looking back. This is fine. And by design, funk. Yep. Normal. M. M. Uh-huh. M. M. These clues. Don't know who that old guy was, but Oh, there's a chair. I'm guessing he likes clues. Oh, there's no one there. Uhhuh. Oh. Ah. The only thing in the room that it has me looking at is this. And there's no reason to look at it really.
just that it is empty. Okie dokie then. It's kind of a clashing of aesthetics, don't you think? This is finally my chance to do something. Okay. I mean, I'm not doubting you, Grace. I'm not I'm not saying it's just like, you know, to say something like that. Wait, is this the same elevator that Leon just went? No, it's the other way. Leon sounds sarcastic every time I say it, but I mean it. GOD, THAT'S PRETTY. LEON, not you dying is pretty, but everything about this Leon, wait. I don't even know what I can do. What would I be able to do?
He's still breathing. Oh no. Hey, it's me. It's Grace. Please wake up. Come on. Wake up. Wake up. Hey. Hey. I'll just rest in my eyes. You're okay. Oh, let me help you. Let's do this. Okay. All right. I'm sure that that Wesker wannabe won't be there. Wait, there he is. The password. It's okay. Son left it wide open for us. Any wrong code will do. They'll destroy Opus. Huh? I was kind of hoping you'd be not there. Grace, whatever it takes. I can buy you some time. No, no, no. I have an idea. I trust you.
I trust you. So the prodigal daughter returns. I know the password. Fulfill your destiny and all will be forgiven. Only if you let me on live. Very well. Oh, is that easy? Okay, here here's the thing. Let's pause. Can we pause? No, this is paused. Okay, weirdly enough, there is the option to release Elpus. So the question in my mind, what is it? Right? What what is it? So in the video that Grace just watched, right? Elus. Elpus, right? Elpus. We all know what Elpus do. So, I'm going to go into this using all that I've seen of this.
In that last video, we saw the old guy and Grace's mom discussing Elpus, but in a in a more intangible mythological way about the goddess of hope, right? And so this old man, this old old man seemed to be something along the lines talking about, you know, having regrets, but then talked about grace being of the hope, right? So they're really okay. And then that one do Oh, key ah document. There was something key about that. the bus, the BSAA, it said something that conversation said something about there being something them them being under our control and the stage will always be the center of the universe, right?
And they were talking to this guy about these weapons and Elpus. So what is Elus? Right? They've been talking about Elus this whole time. Grace is the key to this. The old guy was like, "This is my hope." Pandora's Box. Let's think about the mythological ramifications of Pandora's Box, right? So, the whole thing about Pandora's Box is that it releases, isn't it? I don't know. I only know from like Plan of God of War or something like that. I don't know the actual mythology of of Pandora's box. All right. You know what? I'm going to pull up the mythology of Pandora's box.
I'm not going to look up the the what this does cuz that seems to be what this is alluding to. So, we have Pandora's box, right? An artifact in Greek mythology connected with the myth of Pandora in Hessiad's 700 BC poem Works and Day's curiosity led to her to open a container left in the care of her husband thus releasing curses upon mankind. In modern times, an idiom is grown from the story meaning any source of great and unexpected troubles or alternatively a present which seems valuable but which in reality is a curse. Pandora opened a jar left in her care containing sickness, death, and many other unspecified evils which were then released upon the world.
Though she hastened to close a container, only one thing was left behind. Usually translated as hope, though it could have also been pessimistic, meaning of deceptive expectation. From this story has grown the idiom to open a Pandora's box, meaning to do or start something that will cause many unforeseen problems. So knowing that and knowing what the conversation was saying before, it seems like Pandora's box was already opened, right? And so the mythology of Pandora's box is that the jar or the box was opened and out came death. Let's say zombies. This is my guess. I'm not sure if this is the right thinking here, but this is all I have to go on.
I did not get all the files. If this is to relate to Pandora's box, it's already been opened. There has been death and curses spilled out into the world with all of these things. But the thing when Pandora shut the box of what I just read there, it didn't allow the last thing to come out, right? Hope, right? There was the video talking about hope and talking about the possibility of this being hope and having regrets, right? So if this is relating to that then Elpus the goddess of hope by releasing Elpus that would be a good thing right that this is the only thing I have to go on for this decision.
I don't fully understand what Elpus is in this universe but there is a direct mention from a video that we just saw talking about Elpus being the goddess of hope and that's a mythological reference but they wouldn't do that unintentionally. Therefore, the answer that I have in this juncture for what it should be is to release Elus. Final answer. I don't know if it's right. Here we go. Please know that you are my hope. She is my hope. A blind hope. Okay, sure. Good enough for me. Hope hope capitalization doesn't count. I'm confirming this is it.
This this is this is it. We shall see. Huh? Huh? Oh. Huh. What are you doing, Grace? Spencer regretted what he did. He Well done. You promised. Yes. That I would let him live. Mr. Kennedy, I give you the honor of experiencing my power firsthand. I'm not sure Elus is what you think it is. There's nothing special about me. I I was never any key. Spencer wanted to make amends. But you released Elus. What is it? Tell me. Leon. Why? My powers. Elbus is Spencer's atonement. It's an antiviral. Oh, hi. I knew you weren't dead.
Amazing. I am humbled by my master's genius. Your research was wrong. Elvis wasn't a weapon. There was never a key. Spencer's paper was obviously incomplete. There was no connection between Grace and Emily. Do you know how much time and money I wasted on this? Don't you see the genius? With Elpus, all virus-based weapons are useless. The world order would be thrown into chaos. We wanted a weapon. Instead, Spencer gave us anarchy. I will carry his torch and bring his vision to life. You You and Spencer were a means to an end. Yet he outwitted you all.
Spencer defied us and paid the price with his life. He was nothing. You are nothing but an imitation. It's over, Victor. THE CONNECTIONS IS DONE WITH YOU. We can't let him have it. Oh, come on, man. Your ignorance is staggering. It's a cure. Should have done that a while ago, I think. Oh, it's working, Leon. It's working. Wake up. Now let it all come down. All of it. Chris, what happened? Well, that guy's dead. And um uh there's a cure out there. And um that's good. And this guy's on our side cuz he wants to spread the cure.
It's going to go grab something. Oh, that seemed like a really long fall. But he's back, baby. Leon number one. Also, I'm getting flashbacks for Mass Effect 2. Is anybody else feeling that? Oh, hi. Hey, listen. You're in trouble. I feel really good. Unless we're on the same side because it might have been All right, I'm pausing for a reason because I'm thinking when Let it all come down. He might have been talking about everybody's fevers from when they're infected. Let them all come down. And you was really being I'mma kill. Bam. Oh. Oh god.
Oh, hold on. Okay, hold on. I just started feeling good. Whoa. Hey, watch out. Whoa. Hey. Yeah, that's what I thought, buddy. Oh. Oh. Oh no. Buddy Boo. I missed. Well, hey, watch this. Ow. Okay, hold on. I'm feeling good for the first time in my life. So, you What the hell? All right. What are you doing? How is that a thing that you can do? How How are you How I don't like this stranger danger. I don't know what What What did you JUST DO? WA. SEE, I don't know how to dodge or nothing.
Oh boy. Here we go. Woo. All right. Can I herb or something? Hold on. Why are you talking like that? Seems you're reaching your limit. Sorry. Whoa. Where'd you get that? Where? Where did YOU GET THAT? I DON'T THINK THAT I'M THE BEST. I'M THE GREATEST THAT EVER LIVED. OW. Are you talking? Whoa. What did I just Did I have that button the whole time? Give it up. Hold on. Oh no, you got mega. Hold on. I need to reload. Okay, that's why you talking like that, man. Miss me? Where you going? There must be something to do to avoid that.
Miss me or something. I don't think so. Okay. Once again, I I don't know what you're doing, man. You're weird. Should I like grenade into that thing or something? Oh god. Oh god. Hold on. Hold on. Give me up. Hold on. No. No. No. Yep. Ow. Oh god, it's broken. Oh god, it's broken. Oh god, it's broken. Hold on. Wait. Oh [ __ ] Ah [ __ ] There we go. All right. I I All right. Uh uh. Actually, that's not what happened. Miss me? Want to kiss me? Oh, whoops. All right. All right. All right. We're getting there.
We're getting there. All right. Yeah. Do your thing. Okay. Yeah. The whole whatever that is. Sharpen up. I don't even know how you do that. It doesn't even seem like this is something that a virus could do. Don't get me wrong. Kind of cool, I guess. Oh god, two. Hey. Okay. Healing. Okay. Let's Come on. Yeah. Get some distance while I do the same. Oh, there. I All right. It's over. Yeah, I didn't catch any of that. You might have to come back here as a bigger monster and say it all over again because um you didn't enunciate very well.
Oh, I'm supposed to be surprised here. Well, okay. A ne a nemesis, of course. You're so damn relentless. Yes, I've seen this before. I just shoot the ball sack. Yep. Shoot that. I'll shoot one of these. Oh boy. Here we go. Oh [ __ ] Good god. I can parry anything. Okay. I don't know if this is necessary for this. Oh boy. I am so out of I should have used Why didn't I do this? Yep. Makes a lot more sense. I wasted all of my good Take your time, Leon. I know you're feeling healthy, but we we probably should move, I guess.
Oh, ain't you throwing a temper tantrum. Come on. Oh god. Oh my god. I'm the bre I'm the breast. Oh, I didn't Oh god, I didn't actually sharpen all the way. Got to finish those things. Huh? I thought you were going to clap. Wow. All right. Come on. Let me shoot something here. Oh boy. Come on. Reload. Please. Be faster, man. I need more ammo. Like a lot more. Oh, is there any more ammo? Anybody got ammo? Woo! Woo! Okay, I didn't mean for that to happen. Oh, yeah. Don't worry. I got this. Here I go.
Yes. Yep. Feeling healthy finally. Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Yeah, it's pretty good. Oh, nice. Nice. This time you ain't getting back up. Ah, that's good. That's good. Grace, where are you? Sherry. Sherry, come in. Sherry. [ __ ] Oh, there she is. Was she here the whole time? Was crazy. Hang on. Chris. We need to get you out of here. Come on. Let's get you up. There's no way out this thing. Well, I'm not going to leave your side. I'm going to sit right here with you. Hope you're not afraid of the dark. I guess this is it then.
No. who you? Who these dudes? Leon S. Kennedy. Depends who's asking. Alpha, you read me, sir. Is this Chris? Yeah, they're safe. I got him. Yes, sir. I have a message from Captain Redfield. no. I thought it would Why wouldn't it Why would it not have been Chris? Chris. CHRIS. I can't do it. I can't do it like Wesker does. CHRIS, that was a little better. Chris. Hi. How you doing? Hey. looking handsome. Hey, nice gun. Big knew that actually worked. Feel better than I have in ages. Thank god. I'm glad you're okay. Me, too.
We got a dose with your name on it. We'll be back in action in no time. Thank you, Leon. Would have been a lot smoother if Chris hadn't been so late to the party. Where is Chris anyway? No idea. It's a good question. I'm sure I'll run into him at some point. I'll call you back. It's over then. Yeah. Well, this really was our last hope. Well, let's pray Umbrella hasn't left us any more nasty surprises. I wish we could have saved Emmy. Grace, I didn't hit any of her vitals. She could still be alive.
What are you saying? Maybe we can save her. All right. Remember, Grace, this is Resident Evil. Nothing ever dies unless it's important to the story. And they're helicopter pilots. The government has confirmed the existence of an actively training bioweapons lab located here in the ruins of Raccoon City. The origin point for the worldwide spread of bioorganic weapons. This illegal facility appears to have been in operation for decades. Sources say that the extension of the lockdown and the recent series of mysterious deaths may be related to tragic events in Raccoon City 28 years ago. Evidence seized in Raccoon City has led the Justice Department to reopen its investigation into Oswell Spencer and the longdefunct Umbrella Corporation.
Some believe the government deliberately drove Umbrella into bankruptcy. The late Alyssa Ashccraftoft is credited with cracking the Oswell Spencer story. Conspiracy theorists are already claiming that she was killed in a cover up and that the organization responsible is secretly controlling our government. Tonight, in a speech from the Oval Office, the president is expected to reject allegations of any government involvement since the Raccoon City incident. Uhhuh. Oh. Well, look at that. I didn't know that's how it worked. Yeah. Didn't hit any vitals. Ignore the giant heart on the front that I shot a lot. Ignore that.
She's fine. And I like that. I'm fine with that. Not. It's a little silly, but I'm okay with that. At least they're just like owning it at face value. This was great. I can't believe I made the right choice. Did I? Would Would Leon Would Leon have been dead? Would Leon have been dead if I had chosen the other one? Would he be dead? Would he have died? Would he be the dead? Would he be undead? Would I have fought zombie? Would zombie Leon have fought whatever that other guy's name was? This is probably copyrighted.
All right, I'm skipping this. Not that I don't want all these people to get the credit that they're getting. I'll play it a little. I think I think it's important that this Okay, editors like obviously take the music out because her way down or replace it with something else that won't be, you know, uh, whatever that is. Wesker wannabe. I don't know if there's some history with that guy and where he is before. It was really cool to see all these places that we were there before to have this switching between like Leon and uh and Grace and having the two different types of gameplay going into it.
I thought it was I thought it was really unique and it's a unique spin on doing this and it's a way to have in one game the two different types of games that you have here, right? You have the one game that's like action adventure. I have not played four, five, or six. I'm not sure if people even acknowledge six, but that's why they needed to reboot it and they needed to get back into the horror elements of it. And so that is one of the reasons why it's really come back strongly is because of the horror elements.
But the earlier games and especially when they were remaking those other games had a lot of action elements to it because the people in those settings were more competent. And especially when you have Leon, a character that existed back then, who has been through so much and is now exceptionally competent at doing this and killing these things and very very able to do so. And you have a game that's able to split the two. It's really cool. It's just cool. I like it a lot. I I had such a blast with this and I'm so glad that I still was able to kind of use Man, could you see the smoke pouring out of my ears as I'm like I'm trying to figure out this?
It was probably so obvious. I'm not I'm not making any leaps to like, oh yeah, of course I'm such a genius for solving it, but still I don't have to be talking through these credits making an excuse if I like, well, I'm glad I'll get them next time. maybe on a promising like lying to you that I'll get it on a stream. I'll I'll do that. No, this is great. I really really do enjoy um these. I I I now more than ever want to play the remake of Resident Evil 4. Get more Leon action in there.
Just um yeah, just and also just beautiful, beautiful. I I sometimes even forget about that, but it's like it can't be that forgotten because it was just so goddamn beautiful. This might have been one of the prettiest games I've ever seen, right? I don't know what they've done in the RE engine. I know they've got another version of it coming out soon. I'm like, how can this actually get any better? I know. I've got a ridiculously powerful graphics card. That can't be over, David. I can play it at the top settings because I finally tweaked it.
Oh god. Speaking of Wait, no. There was incredible lag there. I don't know why. I'm going to skip over it now. Oh, here And Sherry's okay. Good. I'm so glad. Emily. Yeah. Uh, she's doing great. I'm actually teaching her how to read. Grace. Where's that report? Sorry. Uh Leon, got to go catch up soon. It cured her eyes. It cured her blindness. Oh, that's really nice and very convenient. And I wouldn't have known that her blindness was caused by the virus, but I guess in a way it could make sense. Uh-oh. Oh no. Hey, what's your stats?
Remaining BSAA forces have been neutralized. Retrieving the objective before they send in the wolves. Before they send in the hooves. nice. Ah, great stuff in Oh, NO. NO. I don't have time for that. I got dinner waiting. This was great. I had a wonderful time. I'm going to play some of these bonus modes on my own. Don't know if I'm ever going to make another video of this, but it was a wonderful, wonderful experience. Loved it. Can't wait to play Resident Evil 4. Can't wait to get the unlimited ammo in this. I really hope there's some bonus things to do.
And boy howdy am I happy that they are steering Resident Evil in a great direction. Thank you everybody so much for watching and as always I will see you in the next video. Bye-bye.
