Host sets the scene for a busy week and previews the stream while joking about personal prep and upcoming topics.

Maximilian Dood dives into 3rd Strike PS3 Edition and Strive 2.0, riffing on retro emulation, modern patch dynamics, and the current fighting-game scene’s big players like MK1, Street Fighter 6, and Tekken 8.

Summary

Maximilian Dood spends a marathon session unpacking 3rd Strike PS3 Edition alongside Guilty Gear Strive 2.0, while also weighing in on the broader fighting-game ecosystem. He tests Third Strike Online Edition on RPCS3, sharing real-time setup tweaks, netcode quirks, and the challenge of syncing emulation with online play. Throughout the stream he references Fight Cade as the newer, smoother PS3/PC alternative for Third Strike and contrasts it with the older Fightcade pipeline. The conversation then broadens to current competitive titles: Tekken 8’s meta, MK1’s surprising sales numbers (8 million units) and what that means for future NRS titles, and Street Fighter 6’s booming player base post-Alex and post-balance patches. Maximian notes how multi‑year support and continual content updates are increasingly essential to keep fighting games engaging in 2026. He also teases Invincible Versus and the Strive 2.0 patch, while poking at the industry’s tendency to chase big updates versus lasting, refined gameplay. The stream blends hands-on testing with a candid take on fan feedback, balance patches, and the evolving relationship between developers and players. Expect behind-the-scenes notes on network setups, patches, and a healthy dose of nostalgia for classic titles like 3S, all tempered with a practical eye toward what keeps players coming back today.

Key Takeaways

  • 3S Online Edition on RPCS3 can run and be tested online, but requires careful setup (RP CN, UPN, DLC/RAP packages) and is highly dependent on connection quality.
  • Fight Cade offers a more polished Third Strike experience with lower input delay than other legacy ports, making it the preferred option for many players chasing arcade-like timing.
  • Netcode and patches matter more than ever; MK1’s 8 million sales demonstrate that modern audiences reward strong gameplay and consistent updates even if a game isn’t universally loved.
  • Street Fighter 6’s performance (Alex update driving spikes in players) shows that a healthy online base can outpace some traditional franchise metrics, emphasizing ongoing content over launch buzz.
  • Tekken 8 remains a fan favorite with a solid community, but long-term success hinges on meaningful balance changes and fresh content rather than one-off updates.
  • Invincible Versus and Strive 2.0 are teased as upcoming content—these patches and new titles are part of a broader strategy to sustain player interest year after year.
  • Old-school titles still matter: revisiting 3S and other classics can rekindle appreciation for raw gameplay feel, even as modern games push for online ecosystems and crossplay.

Who Is This For?

Transcending history and the world. A tale of dudes and souls eternally retold. We don't need the shadow. Come on our journey to go searching for our star deep in the night. Pray in my heart for that special light. Shower me with love. Jo me with power to save for a G. Carry on. Your soul to carry on even tonight. Yo, what's up, dudes? All right, chat. Hi. Uh, we're on the cusp of a pretty busy week. You know what I mean? Uh, a whole bunch of stuff is going down towards the end of this week. And yeah, we're just going to have to be ready for it because uh there's a lot. Boy, howdy. There's Am I voice of godding again? Oh my god, it's like the first time in a long time I haven't voice of godded. Hello. Hi. Yeah, Guilty Gear 2.0 uh drops tomorrow. Jesus, this is what I get for exercising before stream. Um hair is all weird. I have to go get a haircut tomorrow. That's important. Um Pragmata is about to It dropped now. Shut up. Invincible beta is tomorrow. Yeah, hold on a second. It dropped now. You bastard. You made me look. You made me look. You son of a [ __ ] Praa is next week. Yeah. Yeah. Um, ban that guy. Get him. Eightyear ban. Um, yeah. I was like thinking of playing Guilty Gear, but at the same point it's like, man, I'm just going to unlearn [ __ ] you know? Like, even if whatever I figure out, I'm going to effectively unlearn the f out of it. So, let's just hold off on that until tomorrow. Yeah, the the Kazan dev stuff is super sad because they made such a cool ass game. Um, effectively that dev team is getting split up within that ease, one of the big uh one of those big developers, you know, Guilty Gear XR it is, then dude, I would legit fire up Accent Core. Like, no joke, I would legit fire up Accent Core and try to like relearn some things in that [ __ ] man. Yeah, the Neti stuff sucks. It's Nexon. That's right. Nexon. I always get Nexon and Netis mixed up. So, yeah, it sucks. Um, I'm glad I was able to get that game its flowers in an appropriate time frame where it was like still somewhat relevant in its first in its first year because it was good. It just did [ __ ] for me that gameplay-wise very few fighting games or very few uh Souls likes have. Man, I just loved it. I just loved it. Um anyway, so yeah, I actually spent a little bit of time because uh what's your take on the Tekken 8 meta? Uh my take is that I I haven't played much since that update. I haven't played much because I really really wasn't inspired to keep going with the way the game is. So I'll probably jump back into it at some point, but not right now. Just not right now. Yeah, 2X KO road map is weird. It's either really good news or really bad news. And I don't know if there's any in between. I don't know. Um, I don't know. So, anyway, I got Third Strike up and running a bit better on um on Fight Cade visually and uh like performance-wise. So, it should be less hitchy. It was a little hitchy last night, so I have to like I had to make some adjustments. Um, one thing is the future of Tekken Cook. No, no, dude. Tekken is one Tifa away from that [ __ ] slapping. Tekken is one Cloud Strife away from that [ __ ] being an eternal banger, chat. Seriously, they maybe they don't do Tifa. Maybe they just put Cloud in that [ __ ] Come on, man. That game is one Cloud Strife away from being an eternal banger. Tifa could be in there, too. I did get RC PS3 up and running. Um, and I did get Third Strike Online Edition. Maybe we can play a little bit of that. But I also got to figure out why, you know, I got to figure out why uh some of my frame timing is a little off where it'll drop down to like 40 fps, but it'll say 60 and I'm like, something's going on here. I got to figure it out. So, I did get that. I did get T5DR. I did get that stuff. I got Tekken Tag 2. Um, do you use any software for PlayStation controllers on PC? No. No, I don't use PlayStation controllers on PC directly. You just let you let Steam do it. The best software you can the best software you can use on PC if you want to get your stuff working is um like Steam. You just launch a add a game into Steam like as an executable and let Steam input handle it. It does a very Steam Input adds delay. Tekken 8's good. Tekken 8 is really fun. I I if you need something that like it needs a big balance shakeup and a crazy guest character because I I don't know if Roger Kunitsu or Welcome back to the stage of I don't know if Roger Kunitsu or Bob does anything big necessarily for the game. It just feels Yeah. Yeah, dude. They could have done like Devil Raina, right? They could have done something crazy like that, but yeah. Yeah. Are you running T5DR on PC through RBCS3? I I haven't booted much up. I haven't booted much up yet, but I I think I have T5DR running. Um, and I got my account, so that means that I can play online, but I don't have any patches for reduced input delay or anything like that. I got to figure out where the hell that is. I got to figure that out. T5DR on PlayStation 5. You tried it yet? No, because it's the PSP game and it has no versus mode. Did the story mode not tease Devil Raina? Was there not also a very obvious to be continued sort of story thing they were setting up with Heihachi. Um, potentially for more Tekken 8 story. There was. It's weird. It's very weird. Does that Does that game look blurry for being the PSP version? It probably should. Yeah, it probably should. Um, yeah, I think they just forgot. Silent Nexus. Thank you, J Money. Sword and Brood. Yo, uh, Mina Mina Mino Ryu. Damn, thanks for the 10 gift subs. Holy [ __ ] Thank you. Uh, dodge chat. Don baby, Storm the Immortal. Uh, yeah. Nie, thank you. This stuff's actually working today. James Sovereign, Bad Boy, Detroit Dead Head, uh, Van Helu, MK Nitro, it's the Super Dave Techmo. Appreciate it, guys. Welcome. Welcome back. Did you catch the Aerys uh yap about Tekken 8? Yeah, he has been pretty off offloaded of Tekken ever since like the end of Tekken 7. Um, and he is right. Like unfortunately, Bandai Namco does not have a big history of like responding well to criticism or responding well to like how games are going. It's unfortunate. Soulcalibur went in a lot of very good direction. Um yeah, I mean he's he's kind of right about it. Bandai Namco and it in its history, they kind of do their thing. The crazy part is that we're sort of seeing companies responding accordingly nowadays, which is you can't really do that anymore, man. Like here's he he again he is right. What what he pretty much says is that Band Dynamo as a company does not historically really respond to how games are going. They just do their thing and they keep moving forward and there's not really a ton of fan feedback and consideration of like, hey, you can fix this and it'll be a lot better. They usually just keep doing their thing. So anyway, um that really doesn't fly nowadays. Uh and and that's because there are so many different options. There are so many other games that you could play. There are so many other games that run good online. And the cadence of a playerto-ame relationship is way different than it used to be because nowadays people are used to getting continual and frequent content updates and gameplay shakeups in their games. constantly. So, it's it's how developers effectively keep you interested and keep you logging in and engaged. So, the reality of the situation is that fighting games are no different. They're really not. I get it. We We come from the longest running pedigree of competitive video game. We It literally is like you have to go back the other competitive video games are pretty much score attack [ __ ] and not versus mode stuff. So, it's like Pac-Man and Donkey Kong. But like fighting games are the oldest form of competitive video gaming. So because of that, it kind of there's this weird I would say like mantra about it where they they sort of hold it in this very high regard as being this old precious thing and that a lot of devs have been that way, you know, especially some of the older ones. So I don't agree with it necessarily nowadays. things do need to evolve and a lot of fighting games have evolved especially with net code and online consideration and you know content and things like that. Yeah, that's way better. But you got to give people a reason to log in. And I I feel like I have gone out of my way to put myself in the shoes of the of the average player that like enjoys fighting games. Maybe not the complete noob, but like the average player that enjoys fighting games. And what are what are games doing to get me interested? Right. Are you doing something that is actually like getting me interested? Is there something that this game does that gets me to want to play it? And I I have to put myself in that mindset where it's like, "This really hits." You tried with MK1, dude. By the end of MK1, that [ __ ] was actually good. That was crazy. It was so much better. Um, I wanted to like MK1 a lot and it was the better playing NRS game in a few years, but it is what it is. Um, I I kind of put myself in that mindset constantly where like what about this does it that gets people in. And sometimes it's just like I don't know, maybe some people are going to like it, but it will be for a specific audience, you know? It'll be for the amount of people that really dig this stuff. So, yeah. It's like, do you hate the cameo system, though? I hated the cameo system at the start because it wasn't functional. Like, very little of it actually worked cool. Um, and it became much cooler, you know. Grandma cameo, Madam Bo, Kenshi, not Kenshi. Jesus. Um, ah, [ __ ] I'm forgetting his name. Stupid whip man that only works on juggle hit stun. Uh, what's that guy's name? Mavado. Thank you. The Mavado assist is really cool in that game. Uh, it takes a little while to get used to. That's the problem with MK1 is that it's a weird [ __ ] game that with weird [ __ ] timing. So, it takes you a while a while to get used to it. On the on the subject of MK1, I guess we should talk about this. I guess it's I guess it's interesting to talk about fighting game success, like what fighting game success is and means because there was a pretty interesting announcement that popped up earlier today from Mortal Kombat of all things. No new game. We're not going to leaning into that yet, but Welcome back to the stage of history. Twitter is working great functioning website. There it is. So, uh, the big news is that Mortal Kombat 1, as you know, somewhat detested of a game it is in the eyes of many, goes on to sell even more Then the majority of Street Fighter games, Street Fighter 6, majority of Capcom games. Yeah, they hit 8 million sold. Um, which just goes to show how big their audience is. Like how massive the audience for Netherrem and Mortal Kombat is. It's big, dude. That's a That's a [ __ ] ton. That's an absolute massive amount of sales. Most of their fighting games are discounted in the same time frame that MK1 was also discounted. And um you know it just means that the competitive side of it isn't necessarily staying around like does it have a a thriving competitive scene? No. But that doesn't always constitute what is a successful game. Yeah. Is this cons to by many accounts this would be considered a failure, right? Um and I don't know how that's possible. I don't know if MK1 cost that much. Um, it definitely was not doing the right things when it came out and they tried a lot to make it better over time, but it was still a big issue. And also, comparatively speaking, I think this is selling half as much as the more successful Mortal Kombat game. Like literally half as much. So, this might be a bit closer in line to the sales that they were seeing with Injustice titles like Injustice 1 and Injustice 2. Uh, maybe, you know, just maybe. but that's currently within a lesser period of time uh selling more than Street Fighter 6, right? So, what's funny is that this argument sucks, which is like, oh, which game is more successful? Which game is less successful? Do this cost more money to make than that? Like, if there is no Steam charts for it, then it actually has failed. If it is doesn't have the big competitive scene, then it has done bad. like whatever your I would say definition of success is, you will use that as your defining element when arguing about a game's like actual success, right? Where you're like, "Hey, uh, didn't sell 16 million. Failure of a game. Uh, hey, didn't even come close to the sales of a Smash Brothers. A failure of a game. Hey, uh, doesn't have as many players as Tekken 8. Failure of a game, you know, it's like this this logic can be applied to anything just to make your point more substantial, right, in some way. So, so yeah, like 8 million is a [ __ ] ton. like just for the sake of what NRS did with MK1, maybe not meeting the expectations of previous games, which is why it didn't hit those goals and stuff. Um, 8 million for a fighting game is insane, bro. Like, that is a like only the most reserved of games like over time like even Dragon Ball Fighters or games that are around for seven maybe eight years. I almost did it. Um, yeah, like maybe they'll eventually get to a point as they've been around for that long to actually hit those numbers. Um, funny enough, we just recently saw in the Street Fighter 6 world that according to Steam charts, which is not a which is not an appropriate metric, um, it seems like Street Fighter 6 maybe, just maybe, had the highest player count it's ever had. Like, no kidding. After Alex came out, potentially, we don't know the numbers for console, which I'm thinking I'm thinking is going to be a uh a thing that sort of removes this argument, but the most people that have logged in and played Street Fighter was when that Alex update came out. You know what I mean? So, that's that's crazy. That does not happen, man. because most fighting games in the first few weeks of it being out, that's when it eclipses and gets its highest number of players usually. Um, so the fact that Street Fighter was able to get a really high player base when Akuma came out, which made the most sense, and now an even higher player base a couple of weeks ago because Alex came out and there was a big there was a big time frame in between and a balance patch and all this stuff, dude. Like a ton of people showed up to play this [ __ ] which is really crazy. also helps the fact that Street Fighter 6 is just selling very well. It's selling faster than most Street Fighter games like ever have. Um, so that's all really good news. This is good news for Mortal Kombat 1, right? Like, and and even Yeah, people say if it's discounted, dude, Street Fighter is also mega discounted at times. You can get Street Fighter for mad cheap at times. Like, that is not that is not the argument here. The argument is that just even reaching a figure like that regardless of discounts is tough, dude. Like that is that is not an e. If that was the case and every single game was dropped down to five bucks, you would think that it would sell an absolute metric [ __ ] ton, right? Actually, it doesn't. Actually, no. Even if the game is good, even if you drop the price a ton, it does not mean that the game is always going to be reaching a five plus million units sold situation. It just it just does not happen that way. So anyway, um do I think MK1 deserves high sales? No, probably not. I don't think it's story mode stuff was super captivating. Um I do find that the gameplay is the most enjoyable of all of them, but gameplay is not what sells people on Mortal Kombat games. Um which is why I hope the devs just go gameplay crazy. like like so many weird things in the in the past three games that NRS has released are weirdly consolidated gameplay-wise where it's like it's obvious where this is going to go and you're going to open it up. Like why is this so neutered at launch like why is the last game that felt like it was like you're giving characters the the an ability to do a lot of really cool things was effectively Mortal Kombat X. So, I hope what this means is that like even in a situation where even if a game is not received, well, uh, 8 million units sold is still an astronomical amount. Does it mean that they're going to do everything the exact same? Because, man, that number is so high that means that the next Mortal Kombat, MK13, MK versus DC, whatever, is going to copy most things from MK1? No. No, I don't think so. I don't I don't think so. In fact, I'm surprised that it hit that. I'm actually really surprised that it even got there. Uh, with a few of the things that I enjoy about the game, I'm still kind of shocked that they even hit that amount because it seemed like it was a lot more dire than this figure was representing. The game hasn't even been out three years, dude. So, anyway, I'm really happy to see what's happening around the fighting game space right now with fighting game successes. Tekken has effectively stalemated where we haven't heard much about the game sales um beyond a 3 million unit mark in quite some time, but Street Fighter 6 continually to sells continues to sell very well. Uh a lot of the a lot of the Capcom fighting collections and things like that that came out I heard did very well as well, which is which is very surprising and actually really damn cool. I I have hopes for the future where I think games like 2x KO can have a supportive hopeful future like multi multi-year development support ahead of it where I hope even games that are like kind of smaller games like Invincible Versus to a certain degree and Avatar even smaller. Um and then the big boys like to I hope they all do good. I just want I don't want these things to do bad because all of these games I have personal investment in. You know what I mean? What about Fatal Fury? I'm not worried about Fatal Fury. They literally have all the money in the world. I'm not worried about it. We're going to we're going to keep getting the I get worried about a game when like the financial equity behind supporting the game's long longevity is directly tied to units sold. Fatal Fury doesn't give a [ __ ] if you bought it, dude. They don't care. So, it's going to keep continually getting things, man. It's not going to stop. Guilty Gear is another big one where it's like, I wonder how long this can go. Are they going to keep doing this because obviously it's successful and obviously or has been successful and obviously it's about to turn into a big new game that a lot of people are pretty excited about or you know reluctant or curious. We don't even know yet as as the point as at the time of recording this. So there's a lot of like hopeful stuff on the future and not a much not much that's going on like beyond all of this. All I got to say is that like I like celebrating when games do well. And yeah, MK1 doing well to a degree makes me happy because this game has some of the most fun NRS characters I've ever played. Dude, it just does. Some of the most enjoyable characters I have ever played uh in in an NRS game. And it's stifled a little bit because it's so goddamn slow. Um but still, I've had a lot of fun with this, you know, over the years it's been out. And it didn't catch me like an MKX, but I played more of MK1 than I did Injustice 2. and I also did of uh Mortal Kombat 11. It was just more fun to play. So anyway, in the spa in the space of MK and Street Fighter, um it's very good to hear that they're doing well, but it doesn't mean that they can't learn from it, right? It doesn't that does not mean that we want everything to stay the same and it's all sunshine and rainbows, nothing changed. Nah, no, no, no. If anything, we we're allowed to celebrate the game's successes, but also criticize how things uh are in the moment because it can get better. Like, no [ __ ] Like, stuff actually can get better in terms of like Mortal Kombat especially and even what's happening with Street Fighter right now. So, yeah, need some shifts, right? We need some We need some shakeups. Yo, Virgil, thanks for the 61 months, dude. Gruff Grid off, thank you. Kizmonia, Rad Lionheart, Robito, uh Mickey J, Monster, Captain Yellow, 77 702 Goki, Big Boss, Cece, uh Green Tech, Azrael, Wesley, thanks for the Prime and Heat Hazard. Appreciate it, dudes. Uh 2.0 goes live tomorrow. Dead or Live 7 needs to be big. I hope it is. I hope it is. I hope it does well. I don't We'll see, you know. We'll see if DOA has a hook in in modern day and it like DOA5 had a hook. It's like [ __ ] that was 11 years ago. Welcome back. It's zealous. Thank you. That was 11 years ago. We all know DOA's hook. We don't need to talk about it. If you if you put the the tits and ass on a front cover, I don't think it is as appealing as hidden tits and ass chat. I'll be real. I I think that I think games sliding some of that [ __ ] in. Here's all these like like for example here is uh here is X-Men Children of the Atom. God damn. Look at this game, dude. It's crazy. There's so many frames of animation. It's beautiful. It looks just like the show Psylock. like like when you're a koi about it in terms of its marketing, it it will it will have an impact. And to be completely honest, like even games like Marvel Rivals can be a little un unadulterated with it. However, they're also it's not a part of the front and center marketing and promotion. You know, every fighting game does it now. It does. So SF6 is a great example, like a really good example where they they try really hard on some of those costumes and [ __ ] and it's like god damn, god damn. So anyway, again, I don't know if like putting that on the the cover and all over like the marketing of the game, which is what DOA's done historically, is the thing that brings people in, you know? We'll see. They freaking cooked with my It's very cool. Very cool. How do you feel about the DLC for MK1? Uh I really liked the the last season they did. Thought it was good. DOA appeal was flying through walls and [ __ ] Yeah, to nerds. I mean to nerds it was to people that like fighting games it is. You going to play VF5 on Switch 2? Uh no. I don't have any plans to play that on Switch 2 necessarily. You going to read the Strive patch? I have news for you. If you go to youtube.com and you type in maximillion dude into YouTube and look at the videos that that guy makes, you might get exactly what you're looking for. Maybe, just maybe. Uh JP, thank you. Brazilian Mocha, thank you. Win, thank you. Captain Ser, thanks for the prime, dude. Professor Nums, it's Zealous Virgil. Appreciate it, guys. Who's that [ __ ] Who is that [ __ ] I hope Virtual Fighter 6. Oh, speaking of which, dude, uh there was a rumor, there was actually a new rumor that popped up over the past like 24 hours, um that there could be another state of play pretty soon. That's pretty nuts. That's pretty nuts. I'm not ready to make predictions unless it's officially announced, but stage of history. That's pretty nuts that there'd be another one within a very short period of time. It's only been like two months, man. Say the plays don't happen that quick. Uh, what is this thing on 2x KO? Hold on a second. History. Tuko. See, um, quick look at 2x KO in 2026. No capitals. They're just They're just like typing in a car or something. No punctuation, huh? Damn. We ain't got no time making this [ __ ] We got no time. We're also adding a new fuse plus a way to find duo partners in game next month. Uh what? 2x KO in 2026. Oh my gosh, that's right. This chick is showing up soon. Uh I didn't like Akali very much or Caitlyn. Personally speaking, they didn't really hit for me. of history. Um, we're ironing out our upcoming patches for the rest of 2026. So, there's a a sixth new character, like a sixth one. More skins, avatar, battle pass, balance, feature, challenger. local duos that just happened. New fuse, season two plus rank reset, duo finder, blood moon stage, new stage, new skins, new summer event. So they added even more stuff that is going to be in the season. I don't know what to make of this. Welcome back to this is all within the span of 2026. This is all within this year. only the new champ is technically added. Six characters in one year. That's a lot. That's a lot. Is indeed a lot. Uh, yeah. So, everyone's saying the same thing. Didn't Ki do one a month? Yeah. Well, um, everybody's saying the same thing that I'm thinking, which is not good. Where maybe it's like, this is everything we have in the pipeline. Here you go. It can mean, here's the thing, it can mean one or two things. It can mean that here's everything that we're making. We have to get it out, right? um within a short period of time or we've gotten so much support since launch, we're going to add even more to thank you for it. Very uncharacteristic of Riot. Somewhat uncharacteristic of the the uh company that's making the game, but I mean it's good news. It is good news. We'll see. You know, we've reached the Concord now. No, no, I don't think anything's that bad. Everyone wants to doom and gloom on this stuff. I don't know why because it's I think people just want to see like Riot do bad. Um, but that's not part of the conversation. I do want it I want it to be supported and do well. I do. I I again like 2XO isn't the game I have vied the most with, but I've had a lot of fun with the time that I have played it. I've really enjoyed it. I want to see it do better. I have friends that like it, you know, and good for them. I just it doesn't it doesn't click with me as much as everybody else does. Um, and that's fine ever so slightly, but mildly concerning news. Hoping for the best pretty much. Yeah. I mean, it is good news on surface level. It really is. Yes, Steve loves this game. Yes, he does. Yes, he does. And he's been very adamant about it. he does. Did you hear about the KI exhibition this Friday? Uh, what is it, DMC? What's going on? Why won't he learn? I'm looking forward to playing Invincible tomorrow, man. I really am. I might have to log on early for that [ __ ] You would you guys be down on YouTube and Twitch if we uh fired up Invincible Versus if I showed up a bit earlier? I have to get a haircut tomorrow after picking up the baby. So, I will probably just come back home. It's like at 3:00. I probably just come back home by 4 and just start streaming. Running a fundraiser uh event fight card. Can I link you? Yeah, hit me up on Twitter. Let me know. New hair stream. You guys won't notice the difference. This is just this. I get a haircut every like month and a half. Leave your long hair at school. I literally get a haircut every month and a half, chat. It's that it's when it starts doing this dumb [ __ ] that it's like, okay, we have to we have to trim it up, man. It's just too much. It's too goddamn much. So, I just like take it down an inch or two. Is the beard sad? No, I'm shaving off my eyebrows. Uh anyway, yeah, you can't love every fighting game. Don't yuck others yums. Yeah, I feel here's here is a thing that uh some of you I'm about to end the [ __ ] stream. Here's something that I would think some of you guys maybe have noticed, which is why I have uh and I stopped doing this because there were so many [ __ ] new fighting games after like 20 mid 2023 when Street Fighter 6 happened to like now there were so many new [ __ ] fighting games where it felt like we were just constantly getting new things and new fighting games which is like you know the the dream for a content creator, right? Um, does every single one hit for me like in a emphatic like, oh, this is a goated game. I'm playing this forever kind of way. Like, no. Some hit some hit more than others. I played I've played more Street Fighter 6 still historically than I've played any fighting game almost over the past like 10 years, which is crazy. I put so much goddamn time into that game when it came out. Yo, thanks DMC. backstage of The realization is I I would try to really like open up opportunities for myself to get into this and come back to it and in the past be really open to everything, but I think obviously as you get a little bit older, um, you get somewhat refined tastes and you do start to realize why things are hitting instead of just instead of just like playing everything. Um, and to me, I started to realize like a lot of the things that I liked and why I like them when I had to take big breaks from them. No [ __ ] It had been three years since I played Third Strike. No [ __ ] I had not chat. I fired it up the other day, which we're going to play more tonight, and I'm I'm really enjoying it. I have not played 3S in 3 years since pre Street Fighter 6. That was the last time I played was like April to May of 2023. So that was the longest period of time I didn't play 3S since the [ __ ] 90s I think or early 2000s potentially. It was a long time. So I was like [ __ ] So long story short, what happened when I booted up Third Strike and I just went into like training mode? I couldn't believe it. I I I could not believe how good that game feels. Like just being separated from it within a couple of years, I was like, "Fuck, man. Nothing feels like this [ __ ] This [ __ ] feels great. Holy shit." Just the basic action of moving characters around and pressing buttons, watching them land, landing, like even the most basic things just pull you in. I'm like, "Fuck, dude." [ __ ] does it for me. Like there's just something about it. So even even having that reflection without landing combos or getting into matches or anything like that just like oh man like fighting games are such about like raw feel where just like things will immediately hook where it's like oh this [ __ ] is interesting. This [ __ ] is [ __ ] fascinating. You will you will know that in the first 30 minutes at least for me because of because of how much time I put into this stuff. I'll know within the first 30 minutes if this [ __ ] tickles my brain or not. And some games like put a lot of stuff in between that. Like for example, Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8 did put a lot in between mechanically for you to eventually get the click that happens. But the click eventually happens instead of it being like at the very forefront like immediately as you start playing it. It's not there as much. Like you got to really like lean into it. Um so anyway, I feel like I've started to refine my tastes and it doesn't mean I'm going to stop playing games. I'm always going to check things out. Dude, I always went back to games like MK1 or MK11 or even Injustice 2. MK11 and Injustice 2, good examples of games I didn't really like playing, but I wanted to give them chances to give me characters that I would enjoy. Yeah, this is this is normal, you know. Um, but now it's it's like I feel like these these issues are sort of starting to pop up in terms of a developer perspective because even devs now are having a tough time keeping people invested because for the most part the majority of players are going to be actually good at one or two fighting games in their lifetime, dude. Like that's how much time it actually takes to get good at this stuff. Um, unless you're like an ultra god and you can just play everything and be good at everything. Yeah, we're talking about like this is a very very small amount of people on the planet that are able to do this. The majority of people are going to be good at like one or two. So, with that in mind, I I feel like people people fall into their preferences pretty quick now because fighting games now have the functionality they've always needed to support a community. like the majority of ones that come out now, you can have roll back net code and [ __ ] and a thousand players at any given time, which is just a ton. So, I don't know. Like, it's like the more games we get as time goes on, the more I start to realize how much I really appreciate some of the older ones, which is why I'm going to go back and play them, dude. And it it it almost is like at the at the detriment of um at the detriment of like raw viewership. I know it's not going to be good for raw viewership because I've spent the last three goddamn years just covering recent fighting game releases, the majority of them, and playing them and trying them and all this [ __ ] right? Um, and I have unfortunately somewhat lost the thing that kind of kept my uh YouTube channel afloat for the longest period of time, which was just playing some of the old [ __ ] that I love. And that kind of boils down to the history of the Marvel vs. Capcom series, uh, Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, Killer Instinct, you know, and some old games, right? Just playing some old games. I think we're at a point now where like so many people are waiting for the new games to update and change in some way because we've been playing them for a while and there hasn't been enough changes that even I'm feeling like playing old [ __ ] instead of just grinding the same thing that everybody else is grinding over and over again. I don't know. I don't know. So, to me, it's like I'm really digging some of the old stuff again. and it's like really coming back to me. So anyway, all I'm saying is that I kind of got that that feeling where it's like I don't really have an issue with a lot of the modern fighting games out here right now. Nothing about them is necessarily bad or better than the other. Uh it's just that some of them are like not to my taste as much and there's just so many options now. So don't let this seem like it is um me completely like wearing and tearing at something like 2x KO cuz I didn't like Akali very much. I just didn't like her. Um, and I was like, man, I don't know. I I just didn't really feel like playing much more. I wanted to go back and play something like that I haven't played in a long time and just get used to it again. So, yeah, it it has felt very good. So, that's all I'm saying is that to expect a little bit more of that. We have like literally uh multiple fighting games coming out over the next couple of weeks. So, there's going to be plenty of new stuff with Invincible as well as uh as well as Guilty Gear Strive 2.0. I hope that hits. I hope that's just really goddamn fun, dude. I really do. So, yeah. Um, I'm kind of looking forward to it, you know. Killer Instinct Night is a possibility. It better be. [ __ ] It better be. Yeah. Tonight I want to play City of the Youngs, which is not a particularly popular game. Um, and uh, and 3S, you know, just kind of want to play everything. I just want to put more time into them. We training KI. I need a new character, man. I can't play Foggore anymore, man. man. Uh, I have to play somebody else. I got to play like Hakaco or some [ __ ] dude. I feel like if I was to fire up KI again, I'd have to get some Hakaco training or Idol training. It was like Hakaco or Idol is the ones I really like. Tusk is very fun. Yeah, it's pretty much Hakaco, Idol, Tusk, Shadow, Jgo, Folore. Like, there are several characters I really [ __ ] like playing in Killer Instinct, dude. Um, any of them I could I could get used to. I could like really enjoy and get used to. You thinking T6 or DR? No. Spinal. No. No. Spinal's been like three or four different characters. I don't know how to play them at all. Um, let me see. Hold on a second. Let me fire up RPCS3 because we're going to turn that on at some point tonight to see how it works. Uh, downloads. Let me see if I can find it really fast. Hold on. Uh, what did I get installed and working on here? Oh my god. Update available. Guess so. I do have T5DR. I don't know how that works. Uh, maybe we will try that later. I don't have a character in that game, bro. Not really. Not really. But T5DR, um, I have Tekken Tag 2 and I have Third Strike online edition. Let me show you really fast, really fast, uh, the issue that I was running into with Third Strike. So, just for, uh, just for perspective, um, I did the thing that was, uh, that was recommended. So, you go to like custom configuration and hopefully it doesn't crash. Um, you go in here and you set a couple of things for Third Strike specifically. So, it's like, okay, you know, okay, does Third Strike work on Series X? No, it's not backwards compatible. Um, so I got all that set up. I got my network set up. I do have my uh my RPCS account set up. So, when I fire it up, you'll see exactly what I'm talking about, why it is a little weird. I got my frame timer over here. 60 fps. Smooth [ __ ] See if my uh stick is actually working or not. Looks like it is not. Let's kill this pad. Ah, no. That was working. Run it back. Did I encounter any sprite glitches? Yes, I did. I did get uh an updated setting to make that better. I did. I tried this with VSSync on as well. Bad deal. Bad. Not good. Uh it was not good. Vsync adds a [ __ ] ton of input delay. The new update makes a 1050% F FPS gain across the board due to a new breakthrough. Wow. Is that the one I just downloaded? So, um it's not going to be the version we played in. I want to go on Fight Cade, but just to show you guys what we're talking about. Yeah, I'm waiting for this. So, frame time is looking great. It's around 16 17. Totally good. Prepare to strike. Now, this is an amazing part. Yeah, it is. Nice, right? Man, it's running really [ __ ] good right now. Hey, that's weird. The glitches happen every once in a while, right? It's running pretty good now. I mean, to be real, the frame rate looks great. Oh, man. There it was. There we go. Um, yeah, if you see the the sprites glitching out every once in a while, that's fine. UI bugs you. Hey man, I did check the wiki. Yeah. Um, it's running pretty good now, right? What are the double shore used for? Aha. Can I do I get to explain this again? So, you notice how if I do uh low forward DP, if I do low forward Jesus Christ, man, if I do low forward DP, right, you can't hit a second dragon punch. This is some of like the most damage Ken can get from midcreen as well. Um, but you see how the second one doesn't work. It It will not It'll never work. No matter how fast you do it, it will never work. However, look at this dragon punch right here. Okay, now I am going to do low forward and then the first couple of frames of low forward. See how he goes forward a little bit more. This is called a car cancel. This is called a car cancel. See how Ken is like canceling an animation right there? I'm doing forward medium kick and I'm turning it into a grab. It doesn't do anything for me. But these are called car cancels. And the reason is you're pushing you're you're pushing the animation of one thing forward a little bit more. It allows you to do this if I don't [ __ ] it up. God damn it. Execution. Hey, the frame rate's [ __ ] up. Check it out. Check it out. Happened there. Not easy, bro. My execution sucks. So, because of it, you're pushing the shore you can forward just a couple more pixels and it allows you to do two uppercuts from mid-creen. If you do it in the corner, it's very easy. It's super easy to do in the corner. I'm sure not why I am not still not sure why Cara is a thing. And you can cancel uh during a startup of a normal into special cuz it's not everything. It It's actually intentional which is crazy. They leave it they actually leave it in Street Fighter 4 so it's still in that game and it's also in intentionally in even Street Fighter 6. Damn. Am I really this bad? There we go. Yeah. Well, devil may care. I have I have a funny anecdote. Um I thought the basis of Killer Instinct when Double Helix had it was really close to Street Fighter 4. I'm like, "Oh, you guys are using like Street Fighter 4 timing." He's like, "No, it's Third Strike." Almost everything about the neutral of the game in KI. Uh from the timing of jumps, from the dash timing, from the throw timing, from throw tech timing to how long block stun last, hit stun last, everything. They just use Third Strike. They're just like, "We'll just use Third Strike as a basis." So, there's a reason why so much of KI at like close range can feels like Third Strike without parries. Cuz it literally is. It literally is Third Strike. I'm so ass. So ass. Yeah, it could be the compiling of shaders. I don't know if it's still doing it. It's actually mad hard to do. Turn on strict rendering. It's already done. [ __ ] Let's go. Well, it's definitely not running as hitchy as it was before. This is This is working out pretty goodelcome. Oh, that's all glitched out. That's Oh no. I wonder if the glitches iron themselves out. It's seven on Ken. It's seven from distance. It's 771. 771. I got to get the DLC working. It could be shaders compiling in the background. I hope so, cuz this is really cool that this is working. You have to believe the glitches will just cure themselves. I I believe. Damn it. Damn it. The glitch [ __ ] me up. I have to get it to stop. Someone also doesn't turn every GPU additional setting except stretch the display. Really? Okay, too late. You have it all set up on RPCs 33 and it runs pretty consistently, but there are some little visual bugs here and there. Yeah, I'm I'm noticing it. God damn it. God damn it. It was funny. I went to EVO uh was it last year or the year before? I went to EVO. I had a moment 37 booth and within [ __ ] about seven attempts I got this [ __ ] on a on an actual CRT though. It was uh it was Third Strike on a PS2. Missed that felt much different. Damn it. Oh, no, wait. It was it was an I think it was an Xbox 360 with this trial and then it was on a CRT for it didn't happen. It's on Twitter. I was the first one to do it at the booth cuz it was like, you know, before anybody got there. Matt 2, thank you. Magnus Grave, thank you. Online edition has 4x3 and 480 support. I definitely do. Yeah, I definitely do. Besides 5K, is this the best version? Oh, yeah. I don't know how Daigo did this. It's really not that bad if you practice it. Like, if you actually practice it, it's really not that bad. Um, it's getting it consistently. I have landed this in the arcade against people several times. What's What was impressive was that Daigo did it under a [ __ ] ton of pressure and didn't drop it. That's what's impressive. He didn't drop it, dude. CBS 2, it's easier cuz you can mash up more, you know. Damn it, bro. Dreamcast version is one of the worst versions cuz it's mostly largely a different game. Uh 3S on Dreamcast is weird. Some things don't work. It is still glitching out. It is still [ __ ] bugging out. Weird. It's still bugging out. Yo, Selon, thank you. Um, chat, let me try this. I want to see if that fixes it cuz we're seeing it every single time Chunley does a super. It is not uh it's not looking right. Yeah, all parry timing is rhythmic based. So, if you play Dance Dance Revolution, you're going to be very good at this. Uh, it's all rhythm based, especially on supers, not on neutral interactions, right? That's a bit different. So, you're saying you're saying we change any of these, right? Color buffers, multi-threaded, asynchronous texture streaming, just do all of it. mention more treat third strike port with respect. I mean that's what this was. Yeah, Iron Galaxy did it. Everything in additional settings except stretch. All right. See if that'll do it. I'll leave the frame timer up there just to see if we can get the hang of it. Welcome back to the stage of history with the report with respect by release. Yeah, I know. I know. Even dude, I'd even be down for them re-releasing this [ __ ] You know how they made like HD remix and then they just released HD Remix again practically in uh Ultra Street Fighter 2. Dude, what if they did like Ultra Street Fighter 3? Here's all the glitz and glam of everything, you know? I mean on a fight. We'll get on fight as well. This version of the game is just better. Um it's got better audio. It's got better visuals. Like that's the cool part about it. The audio on Fight Cade sounds like trash. Everything in the game sounds like you're banging garbage cans together. So that's why I like playing this. It's still fun. Uh let's check. Wait. Okay. Didn't glitch out. Did not glitch out. Why am I missing the third hit on the second setup? Huh. Huh. It's looking good now. I'll be real. I can't get to the third hit. Weird. It looks really good. This is actually a pretty good way of testing if your graphics are glitched out or not cuz it always would happen here and now it's not happening. Horse's ass. Here's the problem, chat. You think the parries are the hard part? They're not landing the correct timed neutral jump HK low forward DP cancel super is the hard part. That's actually the hard part. And Daigo did the hardest combo, the most optimal combo you can do in this situation. didn't drop it and killed with it on the final [ __ ] hit. That's what's impressive. The parry is impressive, right? It's the end part that's insane. That one slowed down a bit. Weird flare. Thank you. Damn it, dude. Damn it. Practice mode didn't exist back then. Uh, it did technically. It did for third strike a little bit. Damn it, dude. A little stuttery. I want to get it once. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Oh [ __ ] Oh [ __ ] Hey, quit it. Yo, DMC, thank you. Moon, thanks for the five as well. Uh, looking cute in my PJs. Doppelganger, thanks for the gift sub. Hubert, uh, Celicant, Magna's Grave, Matty Chew, Classic Slayer, Absolute Uppercut, Theo Gravity. Thanks, guys. Dig Perry should make the Third Strike movie or Street Fighter movie. Are you feeling because of timing and spacing? Uh, just timing. Just timing. Yo, he's a section. Thanks for the 20 gift subs. Holy [ __ ] Chat, get moving. Let me try to do this some of it. Man, come on. Wow. I keep trying to preemptively jump. I do think uh as I played Fight Cade like yesterday, it does feel a little bit better. Like this one does have like a little bit of off timing. That could be emulation. Fight cade. Fight feels so good now because of run ahead. Still seeing those frame time spikes. Are they happening over there? They're shifting. [ __ ] Yo, Mako Punk, thanks for the five gift subs. What's happening? Uh, slow cream Hellcat. Thanks, dudes. Chat, who's on this [ __ ] If you're on this [ __ ] get on it. Let's try it. Get on this [ __ ] Go. I missed it. It only spikes when I reset. Okay, This is Chad from Screw Attack. Death Battle. I'd love to get some more 3S games. Oh [ __ ] Yeah, you're rusty as [ __ ] now, dude. I'm three years after not playing it either. Yeah, we definitely should. We can't do it on I I don't think you can do it on this, but I'll be on Fight Kate as well. [ __ ] Venus are 30, but gameplay 60. That's why it dips. Ah, I see. Go [ __ ] Come on. Yeah, it's 771 from distance, right? If it's close, is it not 881 or is that character dependent? It's in the corner. It's 881. Gotcha. [ __ ] That's right. Miss low forward into circle button back out. That remember that happening. I remember that happening cuz as soon as you [ __ ] it up, it says it puts you in the menu and if you miss low forward it that circle it backs out. You're done. If you change it to 1080, does it cause problems? Uh, this game doesn't even run in 1080, I don't believe. I believe the default resolution for this is 720p. I believe so. Let's just show Hold on a second. Right side. Yeah, I'm waiting for this. I got the world. I got the right side. 1 2 3 4. Yeah. [ __ ] I missed it three times. Wow. [ __ ] Come out. [ __ ] come out. It is not an easy punish, dude. It's not an easy punish. most optimal [ __ ] I had to mash my ass off in the end. I can get that. The punish is harder. I know. [ __ ] The parry is just timing and getting the hang of it. The the punish is execution like legit. been around P1 or P2. I can never tell you. Can't tell you. Scope. People use it against me. It depends on certain things. Like I can't do I can do that. I don't think I can do short short super from the right Damn. It's the thing that'll always prevent me from being good. Are you ready? Are you ready? Go. Hey, Okay. Okay. There we go. Overhead kick in the super is a one frame link. Yeah, I got it. It's fine. It's this one. That's tough. Not right. It's also on crouching chun. Yeah, she's super low to the ground. Even this only hits once because she's so low to the goddamn ground. Uh, anyway, let's get out of here. Is there an easy way to get all the uh the DLC unlocked, chat, or no? Oh, do I have to reset this thing? I already set it up for online. Yeah, you have to install a DLC package. I feel like I did that, right? I feel like I did do that. Hold on a second. Let me see if I need to do it again. file install package. Hold up. Does this run better than Fate or something? Um, doesn't run maybe the same. It's pretty good, but it is. You got to install and the rap file. Okay. Um, it sounds better and it looks better. It has a good amount of visual. It crashed. Good amount of visual and audio polish. uh ahead of the fight cade version, which is why it's worth checking out. I'm weirdly nostalgic for it as well. I I dig uh 3E. Um I think over time, yeah. No, I think uh Fight Cade version has become the better version simply because it's insanely polished. The uh the input delay is crazy. It's so fast. All right. It's easier to set up. Ah, I don't know. Maybe. Yeah, I think that's I think that's accurate. I think it's easier to set up. Oh, [ __ ] me. I got the other thing installed and not the other thing. performance overlay, right? Disable performance overlay. That'll do it. The [ __ ] Go away. Go away. No performance overlay. Done. This thing doesn't want to leave. It lives here now. It's per game config and global. Gotcha. So the custom configuration that I have set up in here. Aha. Thank you. Thank you. Save custom. Thank you. Thank you. You were right. Um Spazmoid, thank you. Holy holy [ __ ] What the hell is that? Uh, Dinkoberry making Mary GB slow cream doami no Ryu. Thanks for the 50. I wanted to show a token of my appreciation. Been watching since 2019. You JJ and the rest of the guys never failed to keep me entertained um with knowledge so much on games and stuff that I grew up with just like you. Damn. Holy [ __ ] Uh, thank you Nami. My god. Thank you for hanging out. That's a long time now. That's seven years. Good god. Good god. didn't work. We had to download the package file as well. Uh, last one. Y, thank you, Manami. No, I appreciate it, man. Um, let me do this file, install packages. And I think I crashed it again. I think I have to do it in the same session. Like, if I install it, it doesn't successfully install until I do the package and the RAP file, right? Yeah, it crashed. Oops. Did you get the right region DLC? Let me check on that. Um, all uh there is no information on that. No information. No way to know. Simply no way. Master uh character color pack one DLC, right? One meg. Install. Do you do that first or second? Install. Yeah, it's it's it's installing. It's giving me the package installation thing. And then I'll install the other one, which doesn't give me anything. All the other one again. Okay. All right. Now, I didn't I didn't get that before. Let's try this. See if we can get it. Yeah, this would have Mountain Dew can that kind of stuff. Yo, Minami, thanks for the bits as well. Holy [ __ ] Thank you. God damn it. If anybody has a link to it, you know, hit a hit a brother up. If anybody has the actual link to it, it'll it'll brother up. The ones I have are not working, man. They are not working. If it doesn't work, might because the DLC and the game have different region IDs. Maybe all right. So, how does this work? Multiplayer. Dude, is player match literally damn it. How do we How am I I think I'm I think I'm logged in. Let me make sure I am. Um RPCN account. Stop the emulator. Maybe I have to log in every time. I think I do. Um current ID. No, I'm here. official RPCN server. Right? Right. Is that it, chat? This is pretty much it, right? I got the account all made and everything. Yeah, it's there on the network tab of third config. Second sure this doesn't show all my dickpicks. Um network status disconnected. Okay. Connected. Uh PSN configuration RPCN apply. Is that it? I think that should be it. Did you really find it beautiful? D D [ __ ] Uh, okay. Okay. All right. All right. All right. All right. All right. Hold up. It's happening. It's really happening. okay. All right. Hold on a sec, chat. Configure lat. You have to enable UPN on the network tab if you're not mistaken. Okay, this last thing. Go back to the network tab. Um, okay. And I'm sure all the DNS stuff is just by default. Let's see. I just did a whole bunch of stuff. So, we'll see how we really messed it all up. Um, beep beep. Did you update the game? Yes, it is updated, I believe. Yeah, it would say update available. I did. Welcome back to Slime Dunk DMC. Thank Think Dudley's possible in six? Sure. I think he's possible. Think ROG is more likely because of the movie. No, I would not think the movie has anything to do with it. I would not think that. Not the PlayStation store, bro. God damn it. This [ __ ] doesn't work. I might have a version of the game that just is uh [ __ ] Multiplayer uh player match. You have the EU version. I'm not European. VU version 1.03. Your serial is an EU serial. Should have changed your network settings though. Your custom settings on Oh. Oh, huge [ __ ] That's god damn. Okay. Well, before I go go to the EU, hold on a second. Change custom configur. Yeah. Okay, that makes sense. Connected RPCN. Yeah. Save config. Okay. Well, I I'll I'll try to grab that first. Yes. Okay. Now, it's connecting to a network. All right. All right. All right, I'm trying to jump on and look at some [ __ ] Chad, hold on a second. If it thinks I'm European, we're never going to fight each other. Dream fantasy. Thank you. My gnat type. My gnat. Best four out of seven matches. Each match best out of four out of seven rounds. search failed. Fann characters. Hell yeah. Seven. What the hell's the create game button? Yeah. So, it's like one at a time. Let's see. Does this [ __ ] work? That banned options Tekken ranked. Well, they only did that because there's actually a [ __ ] busted character. Gil is actually busted. You were all enemies. As I travel around the globe and I go against you, that's my fighting. Now you know what my wait a minute. Seven private slots. I think that's all seven. Wait, wait. If you want six six private slots. I would have to invite somebody. Uh, Guilty Go try 2.0 doesn't come out till tomorrow night. About to relay the legacy of UFC gym. like a collei at all? Not really. Not really. Didn't really like her specials or our normals like at all. Made me just miss Darius. Dude, are we testing RPCS3? Yeah, we're pretty much seeing if this works. Your RPCS3 keeps crashing when you try to search online. here chat. If you want to know the settings, if you want to know the settings of what I did, uh, under network, you have to be connected and then it'll open up this. You put a RPC in. You enable UPN. Yeah, this is it. If you emulate these settings, it should work. Should work. Does the PS3 version still work online? Technically it does. I mean, technically it does. I just want I just want to see how this even functions, man. You're trying to look for me and it crashes. I'm going to make sure I have updated firmware. Uh, you also have to make sure that your game version is right? which is a process. Uh that is a process. If it's not on the correct version, then you have to like go get you have to like get a an a what's it called? There's an an app for it that has to give you the latest version of the game based on the game's like serial code. I don't know why they didn't put this on Steam. I don't know. Let's do this so we can just see if we can get anything working. I'm going to see if this works. Damn, bro. Damn. Damn, that's crazy. So, how does this run? Cuz this game got the the net code patch, right? It did get the net code patch. How crispy it is, bro. Okay, let's fight. Damn, the sound. Two, three. Two, three. Oh, god. Damn. Oh god damn. What the [ __ ] What version is this? Uh this is Third Strike on RPCS3 online edition. It's a PS3 version. Where's the green juice? Yeah. Why can't Why can't characters turn green all the time? To fry. Don't do shoulder at the start. [ __ ] me. I did not parry overhead. No overhead. Wow, you died. Crunchy. It's crunchy. 5K definitely runs better. Holy [ __ ] Let's go. Let's go. No. Cheese. Emulator or PS3? It's on emulation. Yo, Marip, thank you, dude. Yeah, it's noticeable. You know, it still runs good. I think the input delay on top of the emulation is a bit, you know, because after playing Fight Cade, man, oh man. Man, oh man. That just feels so good now. It feels like close to CRT quality. Let's fight like gentle. Oh, he's got the costume. Wow. I can't even parry. But my timing on my timing on low tech is actually online edition timing. God damn. So bad. Fireball. Wow. You guys never heard of a low n patch is out later. I have so much meter. Engage. Crew blow. Man oh man. It's going to Yeah, I should probably not be playing six different versions of Third Strike. It's going to make it much harder. The matchmaking time is hilarious though. Like, wow. That's crazy. Wow. What the [ __ ] What? Why would we not? It's a long shot. It'll never put the money on that as they laugh. Thanks, beautiful, right, right? This is what I think is glitched. It is kind of amazing that they're literally able to emulate Um, online PSN. That's crazy. Prepare to strike now. So you can Oh, I just got raw kicked. you would just jump over it. Just jump over it. Fighting's ready. Engage. What is today? Ryuk can throw Shinshyukan against some characters. Son is so goddamn weird. I love the audio, man. It's so much better. It's just so much better. I'm getting used to it, but there definitely is a noticeable like input delay difference in this version from Vade. And I think that's mostly on emulation. Noises around me foes around me. It's a long shot. It'll never Where'd everybody else go? Are they fighting each other? Does the European M version match with the US? Uh, well, yeah. I mean, it's ping based, not region based. Uh, did this guy have a billion? 1 billion. Was it a billion or a million? Ping. We're going to find the hell out. Oh, two. Yay. He's cheesy. He's so cheesy. I'm not even doing anything good. So cheesy. Dude, we're going up in rank. This is hilarious. This [ __ ] is hilarious. We're actually ranking up. The fight can engage two here. Oh boy. Whoa, the frame rate. Oh god. Oh god. Fighters ready. Engage. supposed to be midair. You got these. I got some today, boy. A today, boy. A final round now. Damn, I put myself in the corner. man. Oh, man. Getting the hang of everything again. It's funny cuz I'm like already acclimating to this version of the game pretty quickly. It's already like kind of coming back. Why no stretch res? Um because your parents didn't teach you any values. That's it. let's see. Dirt. Damn, look at that [ __ ] Oh boy, the frame rate. I went for it. Enter the heat of battle. Go for it. Oh my god. Come see jump. Wow, that was cool. Final round. Go. Where the hell is my button? Holy [ __ ] brother. Damn. Okay. My problem with uh me doing deninado is that it just uh it just doesn't come out. I have to learn how to double time that buffer. Yeah, the health bar portraits are messed up in this one. I don't like them either. Not a fan of them either. We have to land a Shinsha. Hold on a second. Damn. Against Akuma. All right, here we go. go go go go go. Damn it, brother. You would block it. Oof. Oof. Okay. I think he's dead. Ow. You win. Ow. It's like one mistake later. The ultra dead. Prepare for battle. Yeah, let's try some weird [ __ ] Hold on Weird [ __ ] time. Wow, I got the hidden costume. H go up. just call for the bait. Was worth it. Oh my god. I have no punish. Let's try it. chasing this guy down the whole time. Go for it. Let's see. The final round now. Let's go. I'm getting out of here. keeps doing that. I got to punish it. Nice. I got to punish it two or three times. going to go for level 99. I don't know. I don't know how long it takes to rank up in this [ __ ] I have no memory of it. How's the online feel? Not as good as Fight Cade. Um, but still like second best third strike net code. Good. Easily second best. Was matchmaking this fast in OG 360? It kind of was. Yeah. If there were people looking, it just found dudes. Holy [ __ ] Holy [ __ ] your connection. Oh. Oh, this dude's playing from Artemis. Wake up. Demon clip. Bro, you're insane. Oh, holy [ __ ] [ __ ] on in on the moon. Does this look okay to you? What's going on here? Oh god. Final round. Go for it. Dude, I'm trying to do a wake up. Screw blow. [ __ ] screw blow. Okay. Jesus Christ. All right. That's rough. Just a little rough. All the meter. I got a lot of it. Yo, C4. Thank you. Dude, the matchmaking on this is faster than Fight Cade. Technically, you know, technically fighting. Oh man. Destroy. Kill. destroy kill. Holy [ __ ] Super. Holy [ __ ] Super trample before my into the heat of battle. Go for it. Reaper. Damn. Oh no. Oh god. Oh god. Damn, everything hurts so much. Durian's voice of voice is so sick in this one. It's so cool. This is working. It's crazy that this [ __ ] is working. Well, I got the hammer frenzy strike. Hold him. Ow, the big ass. him. Okay. Okay, it's working. Fighting. Engage. Okay. Yesesh. I'm trying. I'm trying. Dude, the high resolution ass artwork, too. Bro, it's been so long since I've seen this [ __ ] man. Yeah, playing old fighting games on a CRT, like an old CRT, literally feels amazing. It feels [ __ ] amazing. Tensionai is one, two, three. Yeah. Damn, his voice sounded so clear. Going to get hit by everything. A little parry. Final round. Engage. I fight I y Okay, I remember where the hell these moves are. game can be a lot of fun. A lot of fun. Strife patch in an hour. Where are you guys getting this information from? Because it's like tomorrow night. Did they announce it? It was early because it's like 900 p.m. tomorrow night. 12 a.m. PDC. Really? patch will come out but no online so servers for 2 a.m. Really? Okay, check that [ __ ] out. 1 to 10. How am I excited for the Street Fighter movie? Like a seven. I hope it's going to be good. Uh what is the reverse code? That I'm doing this. I'm doing this. I've made my peace. I'm doing Shinriukin. I've made my peace with God, chat. I've made my peace with God. I picked Shinriuk. Holy [ __ ] I made my peace with God. Whack. You can really dude I got my [ __ ] twice and it didn't come out. I have to press it with kicks. It's got to be with kicks. [ __ ] So dumb. Forgot which one it was. I'll try it again. Throw loops. This game is actually the one of the biggest Street Fighter games with no throw loops. But you know what throws beat? Parry. If you do a parry attempt, Ro beats it and it's like unteable. Pension. Let me try this. Let's kick. So, if you tap forward or down, uh, you get thrown out of it. That's unsafe. But that's unsafe. Into the heat of battle. Go for it. Holy [ __ ] ass. God damn. God damn. All right. To mash the [ __ ] out of this thing. Yeah. He's like going to the moon. 3SO was always first to one. Old fighting games were all first to ones, dude. They were all always first to one. HD Remix was also the same [ __ ] I got the future. Yeah, I'm waiting for you. The scream lord strike now. I missed it, dude. [ __ ] me. Trying to get the super. How to get out of stun. Uh, wiggle the stick and mash as many buttons as fast as possible. You can get out of stun almost immediately. You have to mash the [ __ ] out of it, though. Yeah, Ibukbuki and Shawn got nerfed to [ __ ] in this version because they were god tier in uh second impact and new gen. They were super good. Akuma got scot-free. Yeah, Akuma is still very good in this. It's true. Prepare strike now. Oh [ __ ] The Makoto time. It's Makoto time. Ow. Wow. Oh no. Oh no. Yeah, when she hits, she hits mad hard. She's a stun god, dude. I don't think many character builds stun as fast as Makoto technically does. Probably maybe Dudley, maybe Hugo. Makoto stuns mad We're playing online edition on RPCS3. We're just testing it out. I've never had a chance to try this. Q. No, Q doesn't stun very hard at all. This Q can't combo, dude. And his normals suck. You can get stunned. It's just that he's not good at it. Yo, me. Thank you. I'm already getting the hang of this version. It's kind of funny. I'm like legit adapting to 3SOE timing again. And it's funny. It's like the one I'm the most familiar with. I'm waiting for this. The right super engage. Oh, that was unlucky. Oh dear. Screw blow. Oh god. Fully. You wait. You again. Ibuki. Another character with a lowass stun bar and low health. They went to I went to town on our character in this one. Everyone's ranking up. Chat, can anybody check in the RPCS3 um information deck on how many people are actually playing online right now? Is there at least 10? We have 10 people in matchmaking at the moment. 16. It's a pretty decent amount. They're all just playing with each other. It's funny how like even 15 people playing feels good. big punch. It's a Ronald McDonald over Trash. Fighting spree. Engage. Oh no. and destroy screw. I fought through it. The juggle. He actually had to parry. Oh You just going to blast through this shield. That's funny. The rose led to a reset. There's a dude on RPCS right now looking for a match in Black Ops 1. That's funny, man. We just get a game going. Will Code Mystics Remaster ever make it out of Xbox purgatory? No, because Microsoft forgot Killer Instinct existed. No, no, that's not H. Why' that guy back out? That's not happening. That [ __ ] will be uh specifically on Xbox One forever. Dudley boy. Damn. I have to play Dudley against this guy. We have to try. I think Max attracts a somewhat older demographic, hence the less spammy chat. Yeah, it's it's always been that way. When a new game comes out, it's more spammy. The right super. Wonder who Dudley boy is going to play. Let's fight. All right, meter time. Mater three. [ __ ] screw blow screw blow. Ow. Let's go. Screw. He did not do ex machine gun. Come on. Where was Eex machine gun? Holy nipples. Uppercut. Trash. Final round now. Lay Harry. screw blow three Good [ __ ] Why would you? Why would you? I would be desperate. Oh my god. You have He's like, "Oh Jesus, man. I could have literally five hit parried into super. It would have been godlike. He's like, "Ah shit." Staunting beneficial in this game. Uh on many characters, yes, they actually have mechanical benefit. Hey, this guy's ranked four and I've never even seen him before. Never give up. I'll meet you. It's about to get hard. About to get hard. 200. Did this say 200 things? Oh my god. God. Fire is ready. Engage. Fight. That sucks. I felt wrong. [ __ ] normal. Ice fight. Ice fight. Huh? Goddamn you. Goddamn you. Get the parry. And I have no normal that can go fast enough. I I fight that. Jesus god damn. Working my ass off over here. Double teleporting Yang. Holy God. I don't think I said anything the whole round. Does the same thing where like the rank populates afterwards your command grabs, dude. They ain't working in that freaking delay. That [ __ ] was not. That dude is pressing buttons at every opportunity. I ain't getting command grabs. Who want it again? Run it back till it gets better. Oh boy. Well, that just happened. It feels like there is no um in the spirit of old Third Strike net code and old fighting game rollback net code. I think when there is a minor desync 540, I think when there's a minor desync, it just dies. Um, and in current fighting games, there's a desync protection where it it it has like a moment to actually recover from a bad desync. I don't think that exists here, dude. So, when the game desyncs, see you later. That's it. It just has to be a consistently good connection the whole time. let's go. So hard to combo into super. I pretty much have one button for it. Kill Look at this guy. Man, take it super to come out. Let's go. Kill me. Let's go, bro. Not that guy anymore. Your connection sucks. Oh, man. I literally did wake up super. He whiffed and I was like, "Yep, he battle." Not that guy anymore. That's too frustrating. He just reflected the goddamn Wi-Fi. Yeah. Anything below 100 is completely playable and fine. Anything above it, I might get some stutters here and there. Above 200 is going to be some problems. There's going to be some problems. Whoa. Oh, no. Nice. He actually has the uh the link. Damn. Okay. Okay. Don't let him get started. That's where he's good. All right, that's cool. Damn the link, bro. Holy [ __ ] Good I have to try that. I've never done that super before, but that link is somewhat hard, right, chat? after fireball forward light. That's not easy to do. They hit it off like a crouching light, man. Holy [ __ ] Well, I got the picture. Yeah, I'm any one frame links on third strike uh in nearly everything with no cheating. it's not a special to super cancel. It's mad hard. Going to walk you down, bro. Okay. Here goes big ass parrot. I know, right? It's funny looking. I'm seeing a lot more names now. I'm guessing there's like 20 people on. Yeah, NBC Collection would not have the PS1 version cuz it doesn't have console versions. Just doesn't even support it. Yeah, I'm wave. I don't know how sure you can in combos. Wave. I can do it off of um anything. I am not assist. torrenade. I have to do close um close HK heavy DP I think is my biggest punish. Yep, that is a cross. My whole goddamn face. got the map. Oh, Shawn can link into his uh his tackle super with medium medium target combo, I think. Right. So, if I did medium punch or medium heavy punch, I think that is a link into his like fast dash super like his Dudley super. I think it is. Yeah. And wave face Yoink. MPHK hyper tornado, but I think it's character specific. Oh, is that it? Is it probably only against crouchers? All right, let's go. Okay. I was going to go for the most chip damage possible. Alex in Street Fighter 6 is a lot of fun. He might be the most fun version of the character ever. I don't know if he's good though. That I don't know. He might just end up being as good as he is in most of the other games, you know, or he's really fun. But does it benefit Street Fighter 6 at the game? I don't know. I don't know. It's hard to say. Uh, is this the same Mac? Yeah. Yeah, he's doing the crazy [ __ ] Okay. This version of the game brings me back, dude. Are you ready? We're going places now. Damn, bro. You're blocking the cross up as well. [ __ ] Oh yeah. Oh god, it hit me again. Oh [ __ ] Oh god. goes on. I keep forgetting he doesn't have a bar, so he can't do the corner [ __ ] He just hits me with one random low and it goes into like a [ __ ] ton of damage. All right. I keep forgetting that he's doing the weird one. So weird to see a Makoto not using it. Why don't uh can players scene use forward MK or HK in certain situations? Uh they have too many frames. They're bad. HK is good because it's good damage and long reach, but if you jump it, he's [ __ ] right? He's like giga [ __ ] They're too slow. Stand MP is a good is a good option as well as down MP, but if people are playing on the ground, stand HK is what you want to do. Gives a good a good amount of push back. He's just bad. Are you ready? Go back. MP to SA3. There's no backp and down HK is also mad good from in that distance. Ken's sweep is one of the best sweeps in the game. Oh my god, bro. If I can get up, I'd love it. It's running bad. It's running bad. A I saw the crouching light land and it didn't work. Let's go. Woo! My god, dude. Got a bunch of life here. Snoke command grab. There we go. Man, the connections are funky. They are funky. It is earlier gen roll back, so it doesn't really know how to add a ton of uh a ton of millisecond delay. Yeah, taunts have utility in this version. Uh a postmatch taunt after KO does not. It's pure BM. It's like the ultimate BF. It's the one thing you can't do to BF. Flash. It's fine. I've got two. Flash. Flash. Jesus. That's right. He says Jesus when he gets hit. Oh man, he was trying something. Holy Have to switch over to fighting pretty soon. See how that goes. battle. That's the guy the crazy ping. No, no, that's a normal. Oh, it's the Makoto. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. This is the guy. Okay, here we go. Let's actually remember this time. Let's actually try to remember this Damn. Cara cancel that. Cara cancelled. Nice. Take off. Damn it. No ex. Okay, now I have to actually remember. Um, I don't need to worry about him being cornered. Right, this is the problem. You can't corner Makoto when she has a bar super because she can bounce off a wall at like any point and mess you up. Now I don't have to worry about Makoto being cornered. She only has the one super, so I can literally corner pressure. Game play game plan changes entirely depending on the super. in the mirror and I got the wave. Yeah, I'm a wave. I got enough. Oh yeah, we going crazy. Nice. Can't give him the parry, babe. He's hitting those cars. Very good. You changed Oh, damn. He actually had a stun combo, too. Holy [ __ ] This guy's mad good. This guy had never stopped playing. I didn't realize he switched up his super. Oh, could you? The impressive thing. Now I actually have to pay attention. Ready? Go. That is very far. Nice. Actually got the light kick reversal timing, too. That's hard. A lot of active frames. Done that every time. Whoa, that was nuts. Damn, that was crazy. You hit that. [ __ ] bro. That is so hard to do. Oh my god. That is so hard to do. I'm shocked I took a game off this guy. Yo, Smitty, thanks for the five, dude. Did you ever run into UFC gym in this game back in the 360? I mean, yeah. Yeah, he's a legend. UFC gym is a legend. Cork and screwing. Let's find gentlemen. What the hell? Oh, really? Oh, it's so [ __ ] active. This guy's game plan is hilarious. Three Gutter trash. Final round. Go. Whoa. Crazy [ __ ] Ow. Am I dead? Stunned. Oh [ __ ] Stunned. I got hit by way too much. I'm number one. Do you have to parry the rose? Uh, no. The rose just has a ton of uh a ton of block stun, so it sets up like his OI tool. I played on a guy a whole bunch last night. We went uh we I went three and two against him or he went three and two against me. We played him a whole bunch. Anyway, this Let's fight like Wow. Holy nipples. I'm ready. Go. man? I didn't get the tech up. That sucks. Get out of here. Oh, no. Super [ __ ] No super my ground. Engage. Kill. Crush. Uppercut screw blow. There we go. Got it this time. Please go, dude. Give me my super. That wasn't letting him have the tackle combo. I was buffering Perry like crazy in case random shoulder came out. I'm not going to let it happen. Will not let it happen. Uh tech, if your textures are acting funky, enable everything under the GPU setting and configuration except like screen stretching. And it should work. Not on my watch. Strike now. I cannot believe I'm not getting my Three. Weak. I heard Dunderball because it's stupid. Flash. Let's go. Flash, dude. I've gotten I try to do EX so many times. I just need to press all three buttons if I want EX. Man, I think that's what I got to do. Okay, cover my ass here. God, this Dudley color is so sick. It's just the best. Miss EX elbow. Yeah, because it's his neutral tool, right? They changed his neutral tool in Street Fighter 6 to being like jumping arc kick, right? It's like neut. Oh, Alex needs like a neutral skip of some kind. In this game, it has always been chop, like ex chop, even though it is parryable. I get it. But still, he needed something. So, they changed it to something that's technically better, but he required you to be in stance. Ken versus Ken. Engage purple. Ready to go. I told him I bro can't believe I did not get the uh super I hold him. Yeah, I hold him. I hold him. I him. No super. No super. Okay, I'll take it. I am messing up my wake up timing. Right. I'm just unable to unable to get it. Is it because in third strike if you press down as soon as you hit the ground? Um, if I press any other buttons with it, I don't get it. Does it not give it to me? I'm trying to remember what the hell am I doing wrong? Is it a single tap or is multiple taps cancel it out? Cuz sometimes I would time it with buttons and it seems to be not working. Man, I can't like wake up and just sit here on the ground as people are beating the [ __ ] out of me. Got to like practice it. It must be a double tap. It has to be a double tap. I'm missing it way too much for it not to be. Yo, Richard, thank you very much, dude. Since we played in recent consoles, it cannot Let's fight it. Gentle strike now. 1 2 3.…
