They're trying to It feels like they're making an attempt, and it would make a lot of sense if they're like, "So, Venom's and everything. Let's make it Carnage this time. You know, you don't like that?" Well, I want Venom just because I want to see what Arc System Works take on Venom would be. But here's the thing. We saw him at Tiger uppercut really perform a couple of years ago. Obviously he has we do have something Iron Man uh and Black Panther brand new team fighting Avengers led by Cap. The newly formed Avengers squad comes together to confront a new fate. Uh, a new threat facing Earth as heroes watch closely and admired greatly people around the world. We hope you're looking forward to seeing how they rise to the challenge in episode mode. Um, new stage Wakanda in Africa. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Wakanda backstory. New playable Hulk whose strength grows with his rage. Hulk once fought alongside the Avengers to save the world. However, in Tokon, his overwhelming power and instability led the government shield and his fellow teammates, Captain America and Iron Man, to exile him to the Savage Land. He must be pissed there. Hulk lives a quiet life surrounding by nature and animals, but his distrust of the Avengers has yet to fade, but he's on their team. Uh, during development, Hulk's backstory was established early on while staying true to the core design uh concept of a massive gamma radiated powerhouse. Elements inspired by his narrative were incorporated into his design. Hulk adorns himself with the dinosaur bone armor. Uh untamed fighting style. Yeah. Yeah. Can overpower opponents at any range with sheer force. Any range. Channeling his anger builds his unique gamma gauge. When it reaches maximum, Hulk enters gamma rage which significantly boosts his strength and speed. So like baby Broly, I'm sorry, like s Broly when he gets naked. H interesting. Maybe he has his own personal X factor. Build up the gamma gauge and unleash devastating oneshot attacks just at the right moment to deal massive damage. Interesting. I'm curious. Curious how that's going to play out. Um, threat approaches must make critical decisions not only as a warrior, but as a queen who must balance tradition and progress. We decided to include her in the roster. Her character backstory was discussed and established early on, having only taken up recently taken up the mantle of Black Panther alongside her existing role as Wakanda's chief scientist. 's design reflects this important transition. Uh, sleek athletic lines emphasize a sense of speed befitting the acrobatic fighter while preserving the primal wildness. At the same time, subtle touches of Wakanda royalty are woven into the finer details, reflecting the weight of leadership. In combat, Black Panther excels at swift movement and long reach uh at the spear of Bashena. And she possesses a high-speed mobility skill called uh Bast's blessing, allowing her to dash in multiple directions. Bast blessing consumes a dedicated gauge Jill. Uh, but it can be cancelceled from normal attacks and skill. But it it can be canceled from normal attacks and skills. Wait a minute. She's She's like sin, but she can go in like eightway air dash maybe. Huh, that sounds pretty fascinating. Uh, dominate mid-range battles with precise spear attacks and then close the distance with lightning fast momentum to overwhelm opponents. Interesting. Um, the champion. One of the elders of the universe. Champion has existed since the birth of the universe and travels across the cosmos alongside his right-hand showwoman promoter. It's not only about getting that spot because there usually is a state of play in May. There has not been one announced yet. Claim some of those spots cuz points are on the line as well. So, look, when it comes to Tekken 8, especially this Tekken World Tour, the buck don't stop here. So, what makes me really happy about Hulk being in the game? And speaking of which, we're getting locked and loaded. They have a character that isn't just a bipedal [ __ ] going up against. And what was neat about Penny was that Penny started to change that a bit where it's like, okay, we need some weirdos. It can't just be a bunch of characters just standing tall, right? Like we need some very large weird characters and stuff. Even like some smalls, something like that. Like, if there's one thing that benefits like the Marvel Cinematic Universe, much less the comic books and all the stuff they're pulling from, there's a lot of weird quirky ass characters they can pull from. say this. And that that's a bit of the Marvel vs. Capcom DNA, you know, NBC DNA. That's like the whole point of it was that they they really dipped their toes into the Marvelisms and pulled some weird [ __ ] out of the bucket and then also Capcom pulled some weird [ __ ] out of the bucket for their side. That's a spirit that I want to continue. You know, I felt like I don't want it to be kind of like Dragon Ball Fighters where they never got that crazy. You know, that makes the game more big Broly obviously a couple of them and then like a lot of changes and they never got really that crazy a little bit of time. It's just the fact that when you have such a great volume of changes made to your characters but not just your characters, other characters as well that you have to change your strategy. Maybe that's why they want to do Carnage if Carnage is happening instead of like Venom because he's weird. They can make him weird. Do kind of change up how you're going to fight a bunch of these matchups. And on top of that, just the fact that if you're not aware of how to properly deal with these stances, she gets an additional mixup. And the carry is crazy as well. We'll see what happens. And also, Steve, we've been talking about the stances, but just look at the moves that he's been using so far, too. Building up a frame advantage, checking you with the high midstream, just kind of seeing where's thinking. Are you going to Why don't you think they'll add venom? The twist of morphing or something? Are you going to try to sideep? what you what are you looking for just because of all the teasers that that that's at the end of the trailer. I don't know. Wants to guard and deal with some of these situations. And you can see right now like one of the things we already saw from Usan is that little unfamiliarity of we see with the characters. Because it seems like people know what to expect when they see you now. They know the Dragon off is coming. What is the play? He did a really good job of neutralizing Ozen with just mid-range control and especially space control. He was using like the way he used electrics, but then also a lot of those mid options that also have tracking in addition to hell sweep. He had a really good read on Olsan's lateral movement and that came out in big big ways. really really played out in a big way there. But like you said too with the dragon players seems like a common trend this season. A lot of them have been talking about like either pocket other pocket picks or maybe other options to be to leverage. How soon in advance does Arcus work on DLC characters? Is it as soon as the game drops or they're working on the DLC before that conversation a little bit here? Just so you understand a bit more about how gamedev works. Let's take for example if a game comes out and they're waiting to see if it's successful for them to make DLC, right? Let's just say that's the case. So the game comes out in like July. I swear every time I see if they began development after not only you would not be seeing those characters until at least the at the very earliest mid to late 2027 to 2028 it would take that long for that stuff to come online chat I'm telling you right now the the entire first DLC season as well as likely the second DLC season for the game has been already figured out for years. There's a chance that right now they could be gauging pre-orders and interest and the third DLC season could be in question about who they add right now depending on like how good pre-sales are looking and things like that. So that's how long that that is in that's how long DLC is planned ahead of time. They have to because it gets it gets baked into the normal development pipeline and then they put teams on it that normally would be developers for the main game onto like DLC squads or continual support squads. There's a ton of players out here while the core a lot of the core developers move on to other projects but maybe they don't travel as much like the next fighting game on the cusp of being able to break into like that. It takes a long goddamn time, right? But maybe like they're just one good day away from it. And this he just he picked a hell of a weekend to have that have that run. And really when you look at this bracket too, Steve, I'm like looking at our next match. It's going to be Hoffish Tan Beir versus Aiff. It gets like swads of gamechanging single player content as their in-game world gets adjusted and expanded along with a character, you know? They chose mostly like pretty popular wanted characters for Ultimate Alliance. They're not entirely doing that for Tokon. The goal in Tokon is to give you a fighting game full of Marvel characters that you know and love, but a lot that you would not expect and ones that have not historically been in other Marvel fighting games over the past like 30 years, you know. So, they're trying to really switch it And they are. They honestly are. Sh taking the spot of Black Panther. Yeah, that's a that is there because Black Panther was a you know a character in NBCI. Man, look, we know Korea is a beast when it comes to Tekken, but when you go over there and see the intricacies of the player matchups, how they deal with the match up personally, and now we're getting to see that in Pakistan. This is probably one of my favorite developments in Tekk and being able to see how these different regions match up against each other when it comes to these high pressure. Third is rough. Not for me. Whenever I've gotten third at an event or a tournament or something like that or even like a local, you just you just like, hey, I made it pretty far. The players. Once again, we always talk about what's presented every time we see Tekken 8 in the top eight. We're still seeing these same players come out and get the results, and it's always just a small fluctuation that a path, a one character matchup that can put one of these players ahead of the other. And that's the development. That's what I like to see in these high pressure. The other thing, too, is we're probably going to see some rematches as well, Steve, cuz I mean, most of the players on loser side, the guy that they lost to was is still in this bracket. Like I think I think what Marvel Games likely wants out of these titles, granted, Marvel Rivals is a freeto play, right? So, you have to make a [ __ ] ton of content. But I think their expectation from it is that they want longl lasting, longup supported games. You know, they want things that will continually be around and be supported for a long time. Sounds like an eyeball time frame, not a fact. Yeah, exactly. It's just Chad, what you hear that just thinking from a marketing standpoint, those those those words those are choice words, right? To have a game say that they're going to have long a longl lasting development and support period. What does that make you feel? Pretty confident, right? makes you feel pretty confident that hey, if even if I don't get the exact same thing that I want right now, I'm going to get my thing later. You know, that's usually the goal behind saying something like that. Yeah, your your investment is going to be secured. If you don't see your character now, then it could show up later. There is a downside to that that like hey we're going to have a lot of support because our and the assumption from us when they said that was in my eyes that means they're going to have a small roster and that ended up being true because they're launching with 10 characters. So it's like yeah that it means that if you don't in the same way the positive of it is that if you don't get the thing you're waiting for now it likely can show up in the future you know. So either way there's a positive and a negative around it. The negative was that maybe the game won't have that big of a roster. That ended up being true. Like 20 is not huge, but it's like it is what it is. You know, they're trying to give you a a bigger incentive for investing. They came back quick. They're trying to give you they're trying to make you feel confident about your investment that they'll return and have cool [ __ ] going up against the John who play bro I'm Judge Destiny swap yeah we we and we initially expected 30 for a 4v4atch this was supposed to be a because even like MVC games and things like that had a lot like Marvel vs MVC 3 launched with what 34 36 then eventually gets upwards to like 52 as a player, but he's going up against the homie, the nephew, young AK, Philippines Pakistan. A growing rivalry if you ask me. AK, we always talk about EVO Japan 2019. You know, damn, John made it all the way. AK consistently showing up to your combo breakers, taking that over some of the strongest. This is the king that knocked out Arsenal opportunity to get a huge W on this side, especially versus Pakistan. But he's got to make his way. What is the overall number of players for every game approximately? It is not going to be easier. It just got a lot harder looking. Well, you'll never know because if you look at Steam charts and [ __ ] like that, that's just counting the people that are logged in and playing online and not counting are they like are they playing ranked? Are they matchmaking? Doesn't mean they are. See John this weekend, given that it's season 3, you had some changes, right? Those are just people playing the game. You see from his gameplay that has changed at all. If anything, I'm going to say right now and one of the things I always critique him on is that he doesn't do the craziest combos, But if you have consistency, his mix up anywhere under like 300 people, like if you have like 300 people actually in matchmaking, that game's alive as [ __ ] dude. Not 300 total players, but 300 people actually in matchmaking, you have a chance of getting new players. You're not going to get matches like the fastest. But you have a chance of actually getting new players and getting a lot of people that are very good at the game too. At a multitude of levels 300 is a lot for a fighting game matchmaking if if you know the net code serviceable enough to support global connections. Why not thousand right now cuz that would just be more and it would be even more healthy giant swing and shining wizard. Yeah, think about region. So that's what I'm saying. Imagine in each one of those regions there's 70 players. Okay, just saying like regionally split up the world into like four different ones and there's like approximately 70 players per region. And even within that split 70 now let's say there's only about 15 players that are actually lowle and like 50 plus are mid to high level. That's still a ton. You know, you could play for an entire hour of people in your region with like 10 to 15 players and sometimes get different people every time. You would never know. There could be 10,000 people on. There could be there could be 20. You would not know. That's what I'm saying. Fighting games are one v one, my dude. They're not You don't have to populate full teams. So a game can be like completely healthy even if your region only has like 70 It can seem completely healthy. You know how I know? Cuz Fatal Fury [ __ ] exists, dude. Fatal Fury literally exists. Every single time I jump into Fatal Fury, I I'm playing late at night. I don't have to wait that long for matches and I get games at any at any level of skill from like the entry level to like the mid level or anything. And I know people aren't really playing this game like comparatively speaking. Damn over crazy [ __ ] AK now to the wall. Scorpion staying to the wall because of South America. That's not my region. And this is when you see like the real play come in because obvious AK definitely has experience in the matchup. So now he has to go to some of the smaller tricks to see how well Pakistan versus Philadelphia King a long time legacy character and I'm going to tell you right now this match up personally I see it's it gets a little finicky for King the down the side of this goddamn combo yeah the problem with KOF 15 is that their matchmaking was always [ __ ] it was [ __ ] for like a year so you just couldn't get people like there was entire websites dedicated to how whack the matchmaking was in K15 here and there but he's been able to get these back turn situations and no great return out of them consistently AK right now on a roll remember first to three this time around because of the TWT change I like that recent changes to the game he's starting to use down for three with King one of the better slower mids than he has now but it's definitely something that they Just let it rip. Like they're really trying to copy like how offense works in Virtual Fighter, but it doesn't really work in Tekken because Tekken isn't isn't a real strike throw fighting game. He still has homing throws in heat. So they they kept him only in heat mode. This is a match that you really got to be careful for. One of the things we haven't seen, one of the main tools of King that down two, the spacing from AK makes it not as big. That's why we start to see the down for three from King. But AK just running away with it. And you see the tools too. You can see why the Jaw maybe. Yeah. Take chip damage when you break a throw. I'm glad that took that away. Armors and the threats of them that AK has. But this fat launch, this wall sequence. What is Tekken? It's not a strike throw fighting game. Uh Tekken is not a strike That's the real AK. No, it's not. Tekken is a is a is a footsy punish THREATENING TO SEND THE HOME. It's a 3D footy punish game. Not sure what that was. Back one, two, raw tornado. Trying to get the wall. He gets it. Tekken throws are, you know, outside of some crazy [ __ ] on King. Very visually reactable. And here's the thing, man. You can be thrown out of attacks in this game. If somebody attacks you on the opening frames and you throw, you just win. The throw beats the strike. Unlike Virtual Fighter where the majority of the time strikes beat throws no matter what they it beats them. Okay, what you going to do with it? Roaring dropick out of the Jesus. Good punish. Holy [ __ ] Back to the wall we go. You still got work to do. Virtual Fighter is the strike throw fighting game. Yes, it's literally the strike throw fighting game. It is the most classic DOA as well. That's true because DOA has virtual fighter DNA in it. The rage just to use more time might kill. He recovered a lot of health, but it might be very close. Soulcalibur is pretty much Tekken with a with crazy ass normals and a lot of movement. It's much more hectic. It's not a strike throw game. Breaking throws and stuff like that in Soulcalibur. Well, because it has a guard button, it's a bit different, but it's not really a strike throw game. You know, the throw tech windows in SC are pretty huge. Building rivalry of I feel like the Philippines AK specifically versus all of Pakistan. My man be taking out names when it comes to Pakistan and that's what's going to keep him alive here at EVO Japan. But of course, we go on AK moves on and it sets up a crazy is going to be the same from Tekken 7. I think she'll probably be [ __ ] nuts. God over Evo Japan 2026. Me and Obama holding it down. You can play those and more. The current version of Soulcalibur 6 is actually mad [ __ ] cool. Just check it out at home if you're Soulcalibur 6 fail. Several reasons. Number one, it's called Soulcalibur 6. Number two, it doesn't look that much better than Soulcalibur 5 or four. Um, number three, Soulcalibur 5 set them up for destruction because Soulcalibur 5 was rough. It got rid of most of the things people liked about Soulcalibur. Number four, the online was balls. It actually had worse net code than the current version of Tekken did because it was running on the old Tekken 7 net code and not the improved Tekken 7 net code. what else? That's about it. That's about it. It should have been a reboot because it practically was like a an in universe reboot. You know, it went back to Soulcalibur 1 designs and stuff here.
