Even I was like, man, combo length is pretty short now. I wonder what we can do. And already within like hours, people are finding some pretty nutty things that you can do. And it's like, oo, okay. Um, it's getting there. Online is hard, man. A hard as in uh like winning like just winning um that kind of stuff. Yeah. Yeah. Um do they still have the thing where you have you can check your your placement where you can um like put yourself at a higher rank right at the start. You check out the trailer for the AR movie. No, not yet. Not Not yet. haven't. Does it look good? Um, we'll see. I mean, I haven't I I played like a little bit with the guys over the weekend. It's a very different game than was in the beta. I think a lot of people are feeling that out right now. So, um, what's the price tag on this? The average price tag. Uh, no, it's 50. Yeah. U, it's discounted. So, it isn't a full full full price game as the wise are already whizzling. Um, I don't know if Justin's playing. I think he's at Kayana hosting Soulcalibur 1 to three in EVO Japan. It's actually like pretty short, but I'm curious, man. If it has like this level of animation quality, I think that's pretty sick. Titan and Lucan are crazy. Most of their stuff is unsafe, but you know, you know, once people figure out what to do and how to do it. Took me about an hour to beat story mode. Yeah, I heard it's like about like an hour to an hour and a half. It's not like super long. It's like an episode or an episode or two. How long are Invincible episodes? People are like, "You going to watch Invincible?" I'm like, "Bitch, I have the game." And you plan on playing tonight? Um, definitely Conquest. Uh, definitely Conquest. Let's get the stuff set up to make sure we don't have any screen tearing or anything. Um, I I really like Conquest, Allen, and probably Omniman, but I'm the best with Mark, unfortunately. Um, Anissa, Conquest, and Mark was your squad today. Yeah, Anissa I have to get used to. She plays so much different than like I played her like Jesus like 6 months ago or something and she was kind of nutty. She's been toned down a lot. Um, so I'm curious. Kind of curious. But what I'll do is try to give some tips to people that are like trying to figure this stuff out. And I'm glad that I'm seeing the same thing that's happening. God damn, I did it again, didn't I? Um, I'm glad I'm seeing the same thing that's happening and the conclusions that people are coming to that I was coming into in the beta when I started getting to higher rank, which is um, heroic strike makes things that are normally not punishable punishable. They just do. So, it's quite good. It's very good. And if you're not using it, man, you're missing out. You are missing out. And things beat Heroic Strike, dude. Hold on a second. I want Let me see if I can set this up. Um, I want to see who can do this. They literally do. Conquest, Allen, Omniman. I like this team a lot. I need to get all the extra skins and [ __ ] What's the main follow-up active tag? Um, after an active attack, it completely depends. Completely. You have to figure that out. You can do anything. You can do like a special, you can do a normal. Dude, Rip broke down on Twitter how the combo system works now. And it's a lot different. He he showed a thing which is like the old way of doing it was like uh uh oh man, come on. Which was like mediumheavy launcher and then you do medium heavy dash cancel, medium heavy dash cancel till the cows come home. And it was like the best damage in the beta. So now it's not. Now there is a combo stale in the game um somewhat similar to how scaling works like sort of hit stun scaling works in like a skull girls. So even if you do light attacks or like other attacks outside of heavy attacks that do the most damage they'll do more damage because you did a different combo. Like you have to put you can't just do the same thing over and over again. If you do the same thing over and over again you actually get less damage. So the scaling in the game is has a kind of like a system to it that is gauging whether or not it is a cool combo or not which we have to figure out. Uh block state none. So, here's what you would do before, you know. And let me just see. You can if you put in like lights and things like that in combos now. Uh uh uh uh uh uh. Oh, wow. Uh uh. Oh man. Oh, I'm on Am I on the wrong controls? Hold on a second. I might be under the guys they were playing under. Uh I don't know if they were playing under it. It is under motion. Where is this stuff? Revine. Okay. Dash. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Combos look shorter and damage felt smaller. it is because what you were doing to get damage from the beta is not the same. Um, and it'll take some time to like figure out how to optimize. The biggest change they did is they added starter scaling just like KI. So depending on how you start the combo, whether it's with a special or a or a normal, you get more damage. So it's like heavy. Oh yeah, let's do that. Oh, damn it. I had to figure out what to do after it. But either way, um, the more variety your combo has, the more the more damage you get now. And it isn't even if like you just mash heavies all over the place. Also, this stuff, this isn't good anymore. This stuff, you can still do it, but it's not nearly as good. It doesn't It doesn't do uh a significant amount of damage at all. So, I have to figure out like there's there's so much stuff that has changed. Show me your rage. Wait a minute. That's the one. Show me your There's time stall combos for sure. Yeah, because that also drops the combo gauge. jumping in here. Damn it. Jump cancel on block got removed, too. It did. Yeah, that one I'm kind of bummed out about. We'll have to see how the game plays out. There's only so much that you can do um on block. And also, if you just repeat the same EX like over and over again, like with Allen, you would just do this and it would do a ton of damage. Uh that doesn't that doesn't do nearly as much anymore. So, LMH is not a true swing anymore. Uh Looks like a string to me. Looks like a Apparently there's a gap. There always was. Um they mean in block string. There always was. Yeah. You know why that is? Because characters some characters literally get armored on charge mediums or charged heavies. So, what you do, the idea is to stagger that stuff and if people are mashing DP or some wild [ __ ] in the middle of a string, you literally call them out on it and it'll it'll soak it. Also, there's no invincible. The weirdest thing about the community freaking out about the game having invincible DPS is that there was no invincible DPS in the game. Like, that's the wildest thing. I I had to make a video about it. There was no like in completely invulnerable upper body lower. No, there wasn't. They all had startup. So if you mashed a DP thing in the middle of a string, you got beaten out. I know. I played Omniman and Invincible. Dude, this [ __ ] did not work. It was getting once you started getting people that were actually doing strings, you could not do this mid combo. It would get beaten out. So it's like, okay, well [ __ ] that's that's bad. So I the the weird thing now is that you can't just do this in the middle of a combo. I think the one thing that is really good is that you can do level threes, right? Level threes mid string are mad powerful. And the the way to bait them is to do what is it? Stand light crouch this. If you see if you see that you have a masher, you can literally do stuff like this, which is I believe true. Let's find out. Oh, I think it's true. And they have to just hold the whole thing and if they're mashing, you just wait and then you just block. Or you can do that stuff like I was talking about. You can commit to a big ass like charged normal on the ground. Is that reverse beat? Dude, there isn't just reverse beat. There's everything beat. So like when you let's just do a normal sweet uh after you do any special, you can do any normal. You can't reverse beat mid combo, but I can always do normal special, normal special, normal special, normal special, Doesn't matter. And that's actually not good. So a normal special, medium special, light special, medium special, light special. Like you can do whatever you want. Um, the combo system is kind of like free form like KI was. So, the the idea behind it is that you can populate the combo with whatever you want. You just have to be creative about it, you know. Rex can reverse speed. Yeah, I didn't play a lot of them. So, here's an interesting thing that I saw some people um having trouble with. Hold on a second. Let's do this. When you commit to air dashes in this game, check this out. Air dashing in the air gets a uh like a momentum boost when you when you diagonal dash. But if you do this in midair, look at this, dude. You can stall the [ __ ] out of yourself, right? You can stall the [ __ ] out of yourself. So, what's funny about that is that it's completely up to your interpretation. If you air dash forward, you see how fast the air dashes go. But I can interrupt this in the middle. I can interrupt it at the start. I can also just go all the way and commit to the whole thing. You have full control over this. So, a lot of people were like dashing and it doesn't carry the momentum and only does it so much. But if you just let the dash rip like the whole way, then you get a [ __ ] ton. Watch this full screen goddamn like boost dash. Does this work? Oh, they might have taken it out. No. No. Me no likey. No. Um, this one I'm not a There it I'll I'll shut up. I'll shut up. I'm not good at this game because I've played like different builds of it and minor increments and they've all been different games. Things have changed so much. So, it's like I have to relearn and reaclimate every single time. But does it allow this data block state? I need um boost regen inactive. I need to see how. So if you see boost regen on a special like an EX move, that's how that works. It's different. Okay. All right. I swear. And John, I might be wrong on this. I swear the boost regen was different depending on what you did at one point, but it maybe I it was I was smoking the madopium. I thought after you did um movement associated things and not BDC like boost dash cancel. Uh I thought boost corrected might have caught it mid tick maybe. Yeah, I thought boost recovered faster. So when you committed to crazy [ __ ] you know. H uh uh can I go up? I can't. Can I do dash boost? Hold up. Hold up. Oh, I'm out of boost, [ __ ] I lose my jump action. Uh uh uh uh uh. Okay. Anyway, you get a lot I what I thought was that like there was at some point there might have been an incentivization for cool mobility stuff when because obviously boost gauge is mad important and uh doing boost in mobility situations uh is kind of expensive. Yeah, it takes a lot. So, you need to like set lab something that really works out because this takes half a bar of boost and you have to wait for that recovery. Um, I thought it was different. I thought it was different. Still, there's a lot that you can do here. Like, at some point, you can car it much earlier, but now uh now it is pretty much at the end of the boost cycle, the dash cycle, sorry. Whoa. Hold up. Call assist during boost. Yeah. I mean, traditionally, yeah. You know, uh assists are like um um unless they're on hit, they change. I got it, you know. And then Allan does this. Yeah. You know, in here. I'm out of boost. So like So after two hits, he's going to heroic strike my ass. Damn. Omniman, do you get anything? So Omniman's armor is mad late. Mad late. Um, let's try Allen. I don't know if Allan gets any armor. Yeah, there's some weird things like Allan right now, he can't call an assist during or he can't follow up. Um, this move. Yeah, he used to be able to do one, two, three like this, but now I can only do one. Um, hold on. Will Conquest be good at doing this? Hell yes. Okay. Damn. Seriously. Okay, so yeah. Yeah, she has two hits there. Okay, so there is definitely going to be anti-heroic strike block strings in this game 100%. Because some characters get like different timings of armor on certain charged attacks. So, hell yes. There will be like bait opportunities to get people to go in and try to punch you and you're going to have armor during it. Right. H I'm trying to figure out the timing for Hey, I found one. Let's go. Okay, so jab down jab charge medium is anti-heroic strike. Look at that. Okay. Okay. Now we're getting somewhere. Okay. Okay. All right. This looks like a very aggressive centered game, my dude. The defensive mechanics in this game are crazy. They're super powerful. What we're doing is labbing defensive mechanics because uh they're insanely good. And turning the tide in a fight, even when you're blocking [ __ ] is like extremely easy to do, right? It's very it's very simple. So, we're trying to find out ways around it. Like what are the answers? And there are answers. Like you have to lab them per character, but there are answers. Right. Some characters can just press heavy and some other characters have to dash cancel out of it or just dash out of it. Yeah, you just have to be a little quick. Dang it. Interesting interaction. Okay, everyone gets a combo on back throw, but forward throw properties are different. So, forward throw it. They all fear. Hold up. Jesus. Stop. Forward throw is is interesting. Cuz some characters can get otgs. Die, sucker. I think Omniman gets his grab. Yeah. No. Interesting. Is there a way to counter assist breaker? Let's find out. Um, general assist breaker, like the one that costs meter, right? Heroic strike, push block, heroic strike, block action, uh, block state, none. There we go. Assist breaker hit count three. That, right? So, let's imagine I I kind of know that they're assist breaking quickly. So, will you now you happy birthday now? You happy birthday into tag combo and they can't do anything about that because they just use their meter. They literally can't break it at all. So, if you know that somebody is uh assist breaking like crazy, that one didn't work. You have to lab the the super that beats it. That one beats it. So, not every single super beats it, but you have to be like on point. And also a little bit of a prediction. Hey, look. So, that one the armor didn't kick in. Look at that. So, armored supers, if you catch it on the armor, will beat assist breakers. They will go through them, but it's a it's a little bit of a prediction. Like, you have to you have to kind of have an idea when they're going to assist break. Yeah. People have been assist breaking like as soon as they get hit and then tagging in their character. Yeah. So if you know that's going to happen, you just do like the shortest combo into super and their assist comes in, you get a happy birthday. So there is no one's going to be doing that right now. Like that is not a thing that's going to be happening. But later on you will definitely have to think when you assist breaker because it'll be the number one opportunity to get happy birthday combos. And I guarantee you, chat, I guarantee you when people get to this point of the game, not even goofy [ __ ] Goofy [ __ ] When people get to this point of the game and they actually are breaking this stuff, you people will figure out the combo to keep the happy birthday the whole time and just murder two characters. We need three more people with microphones to get in there right now and it'll be like toon. So, I'm I'm very very interested to see how the game uh works. I mean, look, we played we had a chance to play the latest build. When I say it is smooth when it comes from the button presses to the movement, the fact that most of the characters, the only character that doesn't have a IED is Penny. She's the one that got like a little double jump like air dash kind of thing. But everybody else, I ain't tried Ghost Rider, but everybody else has a ID, which is kind of kind of sick to to be real cuz it gets all also has like a a different dash. She got the eno she got the eno dash a little a little faster and she has a ID. So I know eno fans that that want that movement in terms of moving forward the hover dashes knowing that she has a ID as well and she has a teleport and her ex teleport actually explodes and hits you. So if you're actually playing that character, you can do some crazy setup cuz she sets out the crystals, she shoots the shots and they can ricochet off the crystals. So you can really do some crazy knockdown mix with that character. And this this definitely feels like the most like Arxist character that we've seen so far. She really does have the feel of like something from like Blaze Blue Tag or something like that. So, I'm telling you right now, I feel like we going to get a new way of playing tag games where we really don't have I don't want to say anything, Chad. I'm waiting for people to to stop talking. It's going to be insane because it does it does have similar rules where like when you call your assist, you can call all three of you want, right? And you know, you talk about the team unbreakable X-Men. Obviously, magic was so fun. You know, for me, I was having the most fun with magic of all the characters. Explain to me who Danger was. So, like she that like that drill right there, that's pretty much what from Wolverine. I mean, no, no. So, she takes since she's danger room. She's basically the danger room where all the X-Men train. So, she has like skills from all the X-Men and stuff like that. Who is using this drill though? I'm trying to claw. I would say is is uh that is dangerous. She probably just has access to all the hazards from all the training we can get and stuff like that. Yeah, we should turn on somebody else's stream that's talking over these guys as well and and rereaming it. We should reream that and then another one on top of that. But you could shoot the fireballs in the portals and it'll come back behind you. Oh, really? But I need somebody else to be rereaming somebody else so I can reream that person rereaming somebody else. From the portal, you get like a little mix up. Who else is streaming when when it when it comes to layer because there's no real access to a push block. However, you got those bars that's right under the life bar where you can use the counter and stuff like that to get them out. But, you know, obviously if you bait those out, you can counter it right back. But if you get to that point where there's no more bars under the life bar, so you can actually have access to that defense, you're going to be in a world of trouble when it comes to offense. And I like that cuz you once again, you still got to use counters. Yeah, let's reream Nerd Josh. I'm really excited to see this is good.
