Chapters10
The video highlights that seemingly boring niches can pay very well, and promises to reveal more examples while inviting viewers to a live training that outlines how to pick profitable niches and monetize correctly.
Boring-yet-profitable YouTube niches like Excel tutorials, painting, walking videos, and AI tools pay five figures monthly—focus on niche, positioning, and monetization over glam sequel channels.
Summary
Shane Hummus spotlights surprisingly lucrative but 'boring' YouTube niches, arguing that steady, evergreen topics can out-earn flashy trends. He cites Leila Gharani’s Excel tutorials pulling four-to-12 thousand dollars monthly from AdSense alone, with additional revenue from her templates and courses. The Paint Coach shows that beginner-friendly painting videos can generate substantial income (example: an oil painting crash course with 1.75 million views yielding about $8.7k). Isaiah Harris’s vocal exercises channel demonstrates that strong monetization can exist even with modest view counts, thanks to coaching, courses, and client work. The video also highlights tech/AI review channels like Shark Numbers, which reportedly earns 11–32k per month from AdSense and affiliates, and Swiss View’s walking videos, which can pull in 2–7k monthly. Across examples, Shane emphasizes the core lesson: the idea, niche, and audience positioning matter far more than production polish. He also promotes a live training and an AI niche validator to help viewers select profitable ideas and set up monetization foundations. The takeaway is practical: you don’t need exotic topics to profit on YouTube; you need the right niche fit, monetization plan, and consistent execution. The message is reinforced with personal notes about his own family and coaching program, underscoring that targeted guidance can accelerate success.

Everyone is trying to go into exciting YouTube niches. They're trying to make exciting YouTube channels like travel or gaming or entertainment, something flashy. Meanwhile, I found a bunch of boring YouTube niches that pay like crazy. Someone teaching Excel makes $8,000 a month. A guy painting on camera earns $10,000 a month. Someone walking around Switzerland pulls in $7,000. These are the most boring niches I've ever researched. Spreadsheet tutorials, paint lessons, walking videos, and they're all making five figures a month. And today I'm going to be showing you all of these and even ones that are making a lot more than that.
And if you appreciate me making this type of video, let me know by gently tapping that like button. And I always like to give a disclaimer that by watching this video, you're going to be inspired, motivated, and most importantly, educated. Because the truth is, the majority of people who try to start YouTube channels to make money fail, just like any other business out there. And with this education, you're going to be much more likely to succeed. I'm going to tell you what works and what doesn't work, and you should be modeling success. Not copying it, but modeling it.
But not only do I teach you what to do on this channel, but more than that, I'm doing a live training, a live workshop this week that's going to help you pick the right niche, pick the right ideas, set the foundations for actually monetizing your channel the correct way, make sure you're setting up your channel literally like a step-by-step guide, so you're setting it up the right way, and even giving you an AI that makes this entire process significantly easier. So, make sure you attend the live training. Click that link in the description and the pin comment below.
My goal is to completely change the education system by putting a ton of people out there that educate the rest of the world and get paid really good money to do it. So, if you want to do that, go ahead, click the link in the description, and I'll see you there. All right, the first channel I'm going to talk about is Leila Gharani, and she makes Excel tutorials. She basically tells you every possible thing that you could ever need to know about using Excel like a master. In this case, I'm just going to go ahead and create a blank And sometimes she talks about other stuff, but she mostly just sticks with Excel.
And she makes about four to $12,000 a month, and that's just from AdSense alone. AdSense comes from the ads that pop up on your channel. So, that is probably a small fraction of the total amount of money she makes if she's monetizing correctly. Just to put that in perspective, I make about $20 per 1,000 views from AdSense, and I make over $400 per 1,000 views on this channel you're watching right now. On my second channel, my niche channel, I make over $4,000 per 1,000 views. So, 20 times and 200 times more than just AdSense alone.
So, AdSense is a very very tiny percentage of my income, and it's probably the same with Leila if she's doing things correctly. With that being said, a lot of YouTubers do things incorrectly, which is why a lot of YouTubers like this reach out to me to help them properly monetize. So, if that's you, go ahead and click the link in the description and the pin comment below, and attend the live training. But this video right here, what your boss can track about you with Microsoft Teams, Teams has its own dedicated admin center. got 7.2 million views and made over $10,000.
And I'm sure she's selling a bunch of stuff from her channel. For instance, she's got this website right here, excelplus.com. I'm sure she sells stuff on that website, so she probably sells templates, workbooks, etc., where she's monetizing people that are interested in Excel. And these videos are dead simple. They're just screen recordings, and they're boring, right? She's just talking about Excel, which is boring to like 99% of people on the planet. All right, quick break right now. Sitting here with my brother Zach, he had never made a single YouTube video before in his life, and he made $214 in a single day on YouTube.
And I just wanted to let you know that this week we are hosting a free one-time live workshop. So, one thing that people struggle with the most is finding their niche, and that is why we actually created an AI called the niche validator that's going to help you find your niche, or help you dial in your niche if you already have one. And we're going to be giving away this niche validator this week at a live workshop. And it's called the YouTube content advantage for making money in 2026. If you're struggling to find your niche, or you don't want to commit months or even years to a niche that ends up not being profitable, then this is for you.
So, click the link in the description and the pin comment below. And once you register, hit add to calendar so it shows up on your Google, Apple, or Outlook calendar. And if for whatever reason you're watching this in the future, still check the link in the description and the pin comment below, cuz we may be doing another live workshop in the future, and it'll tell you when. Now, you'll also be able to ask me questions live, so I look forward to meeting you. And you'll also get an update on how this guy is doing on YouTube as well.
So, see you this week, and back to your regularly scheduled programming. So, something that's a little bit less boring is painting. And we're going to talk about the channel Paint Coach, and he teaches people how to paint, and he makes three to $10,000 a month doing it. And again, that's just from AdSense alone, and that is an estimate from VidIQ. Now, usually the estimates on here are lower, especially for educational channels, than what they actually are. So, chances are he's probably making more than that. But this video right here, a crash course on how to oil paint, got 1.75 million views and he made $8,700 from it.
Not bad. And he makes these pretty simple videos where he just shows beginner painting. Now, that's what makes it boring. He's obviously very very good at painting, you know, he's the Paint Coach. But his videos are super beginner-friendly. His videos obviously appeal to beginners. And so, this is probably dead boring for him as someone who is probably a master of painting. But it doesn't matter because that is how you can make money by appealing to the boring stuff that other people who are masters don't want to do, that's how you can make money. And he also sells a bunch of different courses on how to do painting, so I'm sure he's monetizing relatively well, and I'm sure he does one-on-one coaching as well, which typically you charge thousands of dollars for.
All right, the next boring niche is vocal exercises and warm-up. And this is from Isaiah Harris. So, the reason I say that this is a boring niche is one, these videos are typically kind of tailored towards beginners, Hey, my name's Isaiah Harris. I'm a vocal coach, and my whereas Isaiah is an advanced singer. And then two, he focuses on vocal exercises and warm-ups, which again is not the most sexy topic, right? People want to belt it out and like, you know, get really good at singing, but the last thing they want to do is vocal exercises and warm-ups.
Now, you might look at this channel and think, oh, this guy's not making money, right? He's only making 62 to $186,000 a month. He's only getting 10,000 views in the last 7 days. Then if you look at his view stats, it's even worse. 45,000 views in the last month and just a couple hundred dollars. Shane, why are you showing me this channel? Why are you wasting my time? Well, actually he's making tens of thousands of dollars a month, and the reason is because he's my student and because I know. You can check it out in this video right here.
I'll have it pop up on the screen. But this channel he started just a few months ago. I believe his first video was about 4 months ago, and his first video did pretty well, and then his fifth video absolutely blew up and got over 300,000 views. And he went from spending all of his money on Facebook ads, giving all of his money to Mark Zuckerberg, as he said, to completely stopping his ad spend and putting all of his attention onto YouTube, and he still barely even posts on YouTube, and he's getting a steady stream of clients.
I believe he said he made close to $30,000 just a couple months. I believe it was in his second month after starting the channel. So, one of the big things that I like to emphasize is don't just look at the views and think that making a lot of money. Obviously, if the channel's getting a ton of views, it's probably making a decent amount of money, but you'd be surprised. There's a lot of broke influencers out there. But another thing you should never assume is if the channel's not getting that many views, they're not making money, because it really depends on your niche, your audience, and your positioning.
That's one thing we're going to cover in the live training that we're going to be doing. Click the link in the description and the pin comment below. And this is really crucial that you nail this, and that's why we actually created a GPT that helps you to nail this. Literally an AI that we spent a ton of hours, and it was trained on thousands of hours of our coaching that helps you to do this, cuz you have to nail that. All right, guys, niche number four is tech and AI tools. And the specific channel we're talking about is Shark Numbers.
Now, there's a ton of tech and AI tools channels out there, just unbelievable amount. This channel's making about 11 to $32,000 a month just from AdSense alone, probably making way way way more than that from other methods as well, like affiliate marketing, sponsorships. There's basically a ton of different ways you can make money in this niche. And he basically just reviews a bunch of different AI tools. He tries to do it in a scientific way where he, quote unquote, talks numbers. And this video right here did really well, for instance, top three business ideas for vibe coders.
Here's a list of top three business ideas for vibe coders. And by the way, makes 11 to 32K according to VidIQ, makes 15 to 42K according to view stats. And that video we just talked about got 2.61 million views and made $13,000. So, yeah, this is a niche that just has endless amounts of successful channels. Some of the channels are making like millions of dollars a month, and it's not going to go away anytime soon. Now, if you ever get a little depressed about all the AI and everything being fake and AI-generated and nothing being real online and all that kind of thing, well, you could always go on a walk.
And maybe if you lived in a very beautiful place like Switzerland, you could make a channel like this, Swiss View. This channel literally just goes on walks in Switzerland, and they make two to $7,000 a month. And sometimes they drive. And this video, Switzerland Countryside Life, Walking in a Fruits Paradise, got 8 million views and made $11,000. Literally just walking around. Walking around with probably an iPhone or a GoPro, maybe, super cheap camera, and they made that much money. They really make a full-time income from this channel, which is pretty epic. And they are not the only channels that do this.
There are a ton of other channels that literally just walk around, and that's how they make their money. So, they probably travel professionally, and they just record themselves walking around, and that's how they make their money. So, this brings me back to the core central theme and idea that it's the idea that matters. It's your niche. It's your positioning. It's the idea for your channel and it's the idea for your videos that actually matters. You It's not the production quality. You could be the greatest editor in the world, but if you're in a terrible niche and you have terrible ideas, you're not going to make money.
And you could be a terrible editor that's editing their first video ever and have it blow up and make a ton of money. Just like my brother Zach did. My brother Zach is 50 years old. He's not tech-savvy. He barely watches YouTube. He's more of a Netflix and TV type person and he's been in the trades for 30 years. And he basically came to me and asked me what should he do cuz he was body was starting to wear out. And I told him, "Start a YouTube channel." He was very skeptical, but he listened to me.
His first ever video where he just talked about what trade careers are best blew up, got over 800,000 views, and less than a month after posting that first video, he had a $214 day. Now, if you want updates on him and you want to know what we did with his channel and how we're monetizing it and all that kind of stuff, click the link in the description and attend to the live training. He might actually be there, but we'll definitely give you updates on how he's doing. With that being said, he did work one-on-one with myself and my team.
That's why he was able to get results so ridiculously fast. And you can definitely get results just from attending my live training, just from watching these videos. I teach a lot of good stuff in these videos and I teach even more good stuff from the live trainings. And I know that 99% of people are just going to do that and I love giving away more value than I receive. And so, that's totally okay with me. But, for the 1% of you out there that want to get there faster with the least amount of time, effort, money, headache, and heartache, book a strategy session by clicking the link in the description and the pin comment below.
This will be a one-on-one strategy session where we'll figure out where you are right now, where you want to be, we'll make a plan to get there, and we'll see if we're a good fit to work together or not. Make sure you answer the questions carefully, watch the video, look for the emails, and follow the instructions before getting on the call. Because we only accept about 18% of people who apply to work with us. And that's because we will only accept you if we think you have a good chance of success. And the people that we typically like to work with are one, YouTubers that are crushing it, but they want to crush it even more.
Two, YouTubers that are getting views, but they aren't monetizing correctly. Three, business owners that are trying to use YouTube as a way to build their brand, get more views, get more exposure, nurture their audience, and get more leads, and basically make more money. And four, people that want to treat YouTube like a professional. People that aren't treating it like a hobby. They want to make it sustainable. They want to make a full-time income from YouTube and they're willing to put in the work to do that. And they want to start right now. So, if you're one of those four people, click that link in the description and the pin comment below to book the call.
And also, check out this video right here where I interview my student Isaiah who just started on YouTube and was making nearly $30,000 in his second month and how we were able to help him succeed.
