Xiaomi: MiMo-V2.5-Pro + OpenCode Just Dropped (New OpenClaw Model?)

Hey guys and welcome to this video. In today's video, we're going to be testing out Xiai Mimo V2.5 Pro. Now, this now this is a model that is apparently a leap in aentic and long horizon coherence. But in my opinion, all this model does is prove that Chinese models are absolutely amazing at faking benchmarks. I don't know what they're doing over there in China. I don't know how they're getting these results. I don't know how they're cheating, but like this is not even close to any of these other models, right? So, this is claiming to be as good as or sorry, 0.01 points worse than Claude Opus 4.6. Well, obviously when you see that, you can't help but laugh. Now, one thing I will say in favor of this model is that it is an open- source model. So, shout out for that. It is also um you can do vision so it can do everything in one. It's multimodal right which is definitely a leap forwards. So again shout out to this model for that and shout out to Jim Xiaomi I don't know how to say their name for that as well but building a complete sys compiler in Rust from scratch 100% I really doubt that that is actually possible. a full feature video editor created by this thing as well apparently. So yeah, I mean it's got multimodal. It's very very cheap right now. I think it's actually uh free um on open router if I'm not mistaken. No, it's not free. It's $1 per million input tokens and $3 per out uh million output tokens. It is a 1 million context window model as well. So again, shout out for all of these things. Um fair enough. But let's see how the actual model performs. Now, I decided to use open code for this test and I think people are going to get a good laugh out of the result. Now, if this doesn't prove that these models are kind of a joke at this point and a meme, I don't know what does. However, I have to say that the technical build is actually pretty decent. Um, so I mean, fair play there. Like, I don't think there's a single 404, which honestly for a a Chinese model for their first run, this isn't actually that bad. It's nowhere near the level of something like Quen 3.6, but I mean it's it's pretty decent. But the look and Okay, so there's a problem here. But the look and feel is absolutely terrible, right? I hate the look and feel of this website. I think it's just like standard, like complete trash. Something we would have got from, you know, some of the early models like, you know, Sonet 3.5 maybe. But like I said, the technical build isn't bad. There don't there aren't that many problems. I I think there is some problems if you click the links in the footer. But overall, this is a pretty decent technical build from a Chinese open-source model. Now, there doesn't seem to be anything just yet in terms of hugging face or anything like that. I'm trying to find the weights. One trillion total parameters. They announced it as open source, so I bet they are coming, but they're not out yet. Then why post? Okay, fair. Classic Reddit. Uh, it's very, very fast. I have to say it did complete the task extremely quickly, but it just seems like there's no actual weights or anything like that yet. Apparently, as well, the the Pro version is better than the nonpro version or it's it's more efficient, which is kind of crazy. I don't know. It just feels weird to me that they release this model and they say it's going to be open source, but then they don't make don't make it open source. One thing I will say is that it's extremely cheap to try on open router and it's very very fast. So I mean it that's nice definitely the fact that you can use it today for extremely cheap inside open code and it is also extremely fast. The nonpro model is even cheaper 0.40 which is crazy. The main thing is the speed and the fact that it's a multimodal model, meaning that you can use it for, you know, reading images, FFP, Meg or whatever it's called, the thing where you break videos down frame by frame. Things like open claw or, you know, Hermes agent, all of that stuff. This is what those models are going for. Now you can kind of tell they're going for cheap, large context, multimodal, the ability to use it inside openclaw and other things like openclaw. That is the whole point of models nowadays is to be used inside openclaw. However, with probably chat GBT 5.5 coming today, let's just check on uh poly market. I I do not condone poly market whatsoever, but it does look like today is the day. So it's 88% chance that it's coming today. Yeah, Poly Market is a seriously dark place. Do not read the comments, guys. I do not recommend reading the comments. There's some weird there. But this is probably going to be today. That's what everybody is saying. Poly market is normally correct. Um, April 30th looks like it's going to be the absolute latest, but in my opinion, it is going to be today. So, with this being released today, with Opus 4.7 being released recently as well, I I don't know what I'm personally waiting for, and this might sound weird, is Haiku 4.7. I really really hope that they release HiQ 4.7. It's cheap. It's multimodal. It can be used inside, you know, all of the different things that people want to use it inside.
